I think over the next 12 months we need to make a move to divorce the primary Monero rate from BTC/XMR to USD/XMR. In time the goal is for Monero movements to be independent of bitcoin's, so we need to slowly adopt the mindset of Monero not being tied to Bitcoin price.
Why USD, not euro or GBP or yuan or yen or...BTC? Why does it need to be tied to anything? I see Monero buy and sell offers in MANY currencies today: https://www.moneroclub.com/offers/

WARZ on Polo keeps moving up his 100BTC buy wall. Was at .0022 earlier, now at .0023. Will take a fat finger sell or a series of dumps to move us down from here.
Hmmm... Also from Moneroclub.com this guy davidlatapie internet Buy XMR ⟺ BTC 0.00230 BTC 25000.0 - ∞ XMR I've been buying slowly at each drop below .002 - I've been waiting for next drop but I'm becoming impatient. Guys like these makes me think there's no point in waiting, or I might be waiting forever

So the 0.0023 wall has just been eaten completely. Let's see where we'll bounce, I'm thinking in the 21,5-22,5 area.

I can't keep up with all these wall movements. My guess is that somebody somewhere knows something about something.

One should notice that the asks also dropped down to 175k from around 205-210k, so seems like most of that was used to dump into the wall.

Not going to get easier for you, there's a 100k XMR / 220 BTC buy wall right now.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's. This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

A warning for everyone who is interested in margin trading on Poloniex:
You will get charged lending fees from the moment you enter an (limit) order and not when your order executes so you will enter an open position.
I bet a lot of people don't know this so this might save you some coins.

I've been working with my new offline project during the weekend so I have not been able to follow the markets that well. Now as I came back online I noticed a big part of my bitcoins have been returned me, still some people are in long positions. Short position lending I used to have a few thousand coins at the peak (which was lame since my rates were usually the best ones as I wanted to employ my coins), now only less than 50 XMR are in short positions (I have cancelled the auto-renew function in all my lending activities). Just an observation.... ----- BTW, what happened on weekend? I saw a huge peak on volumes.... What's the story behind that?

Do you think it will really go that high? I mean, if he sets the target to price x, he needs to sell largish amount of coins and thus he needs to sell it below x (nobody is willing to buy at the peak and if the assumed peak is known by everyone, everyone try to sell prior to it and thus creates lower actual peak).

You might find that Warz himself gets pushed out of the market; there are other players on the scene now who are seeking to move it back up to 0.0065. I don't think this would be very difficult at all.

I don't think this would be very difficult at all. There are 8 000 000 Moneros that can potentially be dumped. Despite it is said by the coin owners "we will not dump", one need to be careful not to buy just before the great dump. A prudent buyer buys first his/her initial investment at low cost and when he has bought in, then drives the price up and creates a floor on higher level making his initially bought coins more valuable and creating the wealth "out of thin air".

Lol yea rite. More likely that someone misjudged exactly which orders were margined shorts, and Which ones were shorts, and which ones sold for good. I see a bunch of ground pounding on the market right now, but nothings moving. Soon as its less profitable to sell at this price than buy at a lower one, were just gonna be sub 20s again Lol Get some new trix fellas

That's based on my own experience. Being a lender on both sides gives me valuable information on what the traders actually think. Often it is different from what you read on forums. When it comes my personal position, I am not overweighted (as I was during the last pump earlier this spring) but nor malnutrinioned either. My position is pretty much balanced and I am satisfied what I have now. I have been lending also both btc and xmr and made some minimal amounts of coins (especially minimal amounts from xmr since the rates are pretty bad there).
