1662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: November 29, 2023, 10:01:41 PM
Germany's results at the last major tournaments look terrible, primarily because the bar for expectations from them is very high. Yes, they are not the same as they were before, but they are definitely in the top group. By the way, any team from the top group can fail - for example, France, being world champions, could not beat Switzerland in the 1/8 at Euro 2020 and dropped out of the tournament.

As for strength, here are the official games in the League of Nations: Germany has only one defeat in the group with Italy and England (from Hungary haha). Considering that England are now among the favorites in every tournament, this is significant.

The Germany that we used to love, the current Germany is not the same anymore. Yes, there are a few players who are really good in the squad. But that is not going to be enough for any team to win a major trophy. And obviously, the current Germany team has some problems. To put it simply, the team is just not working. And the performance of the Germany team has definitely not been up to the mark. That's even if we do not count the friendly matches.

Even the Greek national team won the Euro (or in the past you can remember Denmark), has Germany really become weaker than such tenacious but average teams? I doubt it. Belgium had a whole golden generation (which is about to end or has already ended, according to the KDB), but they did not win anything at all. A lot is decided by randomness and if tomorrow Germany wins gold they will begin to praise it to the skies even though it will be the same team as today.

Going to Manchester United will only tarnish his good name as one of the best coaches in the world and Ancelotti should consider his decision before going any further. Being in Brazil would be very good for him and currently Brazil needs a very experienced coach like him. After his term as Real Madrid coach ends, he will head to Brazil and I believe in that.

Leading the Brazilian national team now is a win-win option for any coach - they are a strong team, but for various reasons (and because of randomness) they have not won anything for a long time. With a little luck, Brazil could well take the title. Even a third-rate Copa America would be a great achievement, and if Brazil became world champions again the coach would be idolized. By the way, this is a kind of gambling, but gambling with a positive mathematical expectation.
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: November 29, 2023, 09:03:22 PM
Liverpool still have obstacles and it's not easy for Liverpool to get the trophy anyway, if Liverpool don't get obstacles then why Liverpool can be defeated by Toulouse. So yes, although Liverpool can still be confirmed to qualify for the next round but still, there will always be obstacles and unexpected results that Liverpool will get. I think, many people overestimate Liverpool and they think Liverpool will easily get the trophy. But in reality, to get a trophy anywhere it is still not easy, because even though Liverpool are the favorite team but it still does not guarantee 100% Liverpool will get the trophy easily.

The trend is that the winners of the Europa League are no-name (no offense, I’m comparing with top clubs) clubs: the last three years the trophy was won by: Sevilla, Eintracht Frankfurt, Villarreal. Four years ago Sevilla was also the winner, but then they were not such a weak team as they are now. All this is due to the fact that even if a strong club gets into the Europa League, such a “European Cup” is not a priority. It is obviously more important for Liverpool to try to overtake City in the Premier League than to win the Europa League, so it is wrong to argue that since Liverpool is stronger on paper than the other participants, it will take the cup.
1665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 29, 2023, 08:53:49 PM
Maybe Inter can take Serie A and the Italian Cup, but it’s hard for me to imagine what kind of draw should be in the playoffs for Inter to reach the Champions League final again. Maybe this year the line-up of contenders is a little weaker than last year (there are no Liverpool and Chelsea), but it’s hard to believe that Inter will be as lucky as last year, and with any strong opponent from the big three, Inter will be an underdog. Even now in the lightweight group they are in second place and all their victories are with a minimum score.
Inter's performance in the Italian Serie A and the Champion League could be a pointer that they still have better quality than last season. They are still tough teams in the UCL but I think Inter has what it takes to still go to the finals. Their journey to the finals last season cannot be seen as just luck but they put in some good effort. Real Sociedad, FC Red Bull Salzburg and S.L. Benfica are not weak teams. Salzburg is topping the Austrian Bundesliga, while Benfica is number one in the Liga Portugal, so Inter should be commended for surviving in Group D.
~

Grin 0-3 after the first 45 minutes against Benfica (which scored exactly zero points before this game) and it looks like first place will go to Sociedad, and Inter risks getting to the top team right away in the 1/8. Despite local successes, Inter is still far from the European top clubs, and although theoretically they can win the Champions League, the likelihood of this is very small.
1666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 29, 2023, 08:43:22 PM
Galatasaray's main advantage is that United only need a win today, so they won't be able to play purely defensively (as they have often done this season). The game will be very random, but due to the fact that United is forced to try to win at any cost, there is hope that this will not be such a dull game as basically all of their recent games (even successful ones).

I would still not say that the performance of Manchester United has improved. Because they have been able to win three matches, but the opponent that they were facing, were not world-class, to be honest. So I will still wait and see how they perform in some more upcoming matches. If they can win five out of the next seven matches and draw one, I will say that they have improved. But until then, the way Manchester United has been so consistent in this season I am not going to take any chances and make any statement about them getting better interrupts of performance, especially long-term.

Quite right - they were lucky to beat weak opponents, but today they just failed to beat Galatasaray in a game of life and death. And we see all the same weaknesses as before: the incomprehensible actions of Ten Hag, the leaky Onana and the inability of United to play adequately for all 90 minutes. With all due respect to Galatasaray, in the Premier League they would not be contenders for the top 4 and United will not be contenders for this this season either.
1667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 29, 2023, 08:35:38 PM
Galatasaray - Manchester United ended with score of 3-3.
Although Manchester United led in the first half, but Galatasaray was able to equal the score in the second half. I thought Manchester United would win when they could increase their score in the second half to 3, but unfortunately what happened at there? Galatasaray was able to score two goals in 10 minutes. Ten Hag and his squad will go home with a deep of sadness.

I think, now the situation is really difficult for Ten Hag. Especially on matchday 6, Manchester United will face against Bayern Munich. Although that match will be played at their home, but I am not too sure Manchester United can secure full points, and seems like the possibility of qualifying is very small for the Red Devils.

Coincidence or not, the game was broken by Ten Hag's substitutions, I don't know why he decided to make a double substitution when United were in the lead? Well, Onana is most likely to blame for the second goal.
United can now only hope for the Europa League, as in order to qualify for the 1/8 there must be too many other favorable results for United, and I am not even sure that United can beat Bayern for which this game will mean nothing.
1668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 29, 2023, 06:11:30 PM
A 60% win ratio might be deceiving.... let's say 60% of those wins was on bets with low risk and only 40% of those were on high risk bets, then that statistics means nothing. Anyone can cherry pick low risk bets and achieve a high win ratio... but the true professional can take medium and high risk bets and continuously have wins on them.

The ability to spot good bets on medium to high risk bets, come from proper research and lots of experience. You should also be consistent in a large variety of Sports .....not just in one of two of the Sports that you love.  Wink

I completely agree with the first statement (regarding the importance of such statistics and cherrypiking) and disagree with the second (about consecutive victories). It is impossible to constantly receive winnings at any odds since the dispersion of the result can be large, only the result over the distance matters. Roughly speaking, if there is a profit at a distance of 1000 bets, then this is a confirmed success, but if at a shorter distance we see profits or losses, then it is too early to judge.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 29, 2023, 06:05:04 PM
Juventus without doubt stands a better chance among other top Italian teams that are trying to overtake Inter Milan in the league standings because of the fact that they're currently not playing in any European competition but that doesn't automatically mean that Inter can't hold on as the league leaders till the end of the season if they truly want to achieve that feat despite their involvement in the UEFA Champions League competition.

In 2010, a Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan won the UEFA Champions League title, the Italian Serie title as well as the Italian Cup and the current Simone Inzaghi's squad can still replicate the same result this season if they work very hard for it.

Leipzig celebrated or satisfied too early and then it make them get comeback by Manchester City, if they're focus control the ball possession, they will win. Only the Leipzig's strikers were played good, while the rest almost not giving any contribution.

It's nice to see Foden can play as good as his last 2 years.

It is naive to think that Leipzig could dry up the game and bring it to victory. Last year (and by the way, in the first game of this season when City beat Leipzig in Leipzig with a score of 3-1), in the return game City showed the balance of power in this pair (although in the first game the score was a draw). Initially, City were not in the mood for this game (because they had qualified a long time ago), but after 0-2 they just turned on 50% of what they could and made a comeback. But in fact, there was nothing interesting here since both teams had already received a ticket to the 1/8 even before this meeting.
1671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 29, 2023, 05:43:45 PM
Manchester United do look improved, but at the same time, they also have performances that are not predictable at all, or in other words, their consistency is still questionable. Galatasaray is a club that cannot be underestimated, especially when they can beat Mamnchester United in the first leg, it is a signal that they are still very likely to beat Manchester United again in their second meeting this time. Moreover, as you said, this will be a home match for Galatasaray, so they have an advantage over Manchester United.

Galatasaray's main advantage is that United only need a win today, so they won't be able to play purely defensively (as they have often done this season). The game will be very random, but due to the fact that United is forced to try to win at any cost, there is hope that this will not be such a dull game as basically all of their recent games (even successful ones).

Upd.

Funny title quotes:

Manchester City 1.10

Arsenal 1.83

Liverpool 2.38

Newcastle United 9.00

Tottenham Hotspur 11.00

I get the impression that the bookmakers are in cahoots with the City to morally destroy all other competitors. How can their chances be 1.1 if they are not even in first place now and we are not in the Bundesliga where Bayern can have such quotations even if they are fifth? This season, City is not doing as well as the previous one, at least they don’t look stronger, but the way the bookmakers rate them makes me feel like I don’t know something.
1675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: November 28, 2023, 11:15:22 PM
I totally forgot to check this week my fantasy team, but ended up being a very good one week for me, cutting a little bit the gap with some of the guys uppon me. It was a very smart move to put Sterling in the eleven starter and cut down one forward like Darwin Nuñez who played against City with low chance of score.

But i need some big points to catch the front wagon.

On the contrary, I made some small changes (I don’t see the point in paying points for additional transfers) and seemed to be happy with the team, but in this round I scored less than my usual result of 50 points.
I don’t know what can pull me out of the bottom half of the table, although theoretically speaking, even gap even between first and last place is not so great that it no longer has a chance.
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 28, 2023, 11:06:43 PM
Group F already has one representative to qualify for the round of 16 and that belongs to Dortmund. Now there is one place left for one more team to qualify for the round of 16 and this opportunity will most likely belong to the other 3 teams below Dortmund ranking. With the draw achieved by Psg in the match against Newcastle United, it certainly gives AC Milan one leg of hope if they can take advantage of the last opportunity when they face Newcastle United.

I think if in the last match Dortmund is able to beat PSG then there is no chance for PSG if the match of Newcastle United vs AC Milan can be won by this one team then PSG will be eliminated early in this tournament. I think in Group F 3 the teams below Dortmund still have one lucky chance to change their fate in the last match of the second leg. I am more confident that Dortmund and Newcastle United will qualify and PSG will join the European League.

I think you should place a bet if you are confident in this result, since the odds for such an outcome will definitely be more than 10. It is unlikely that bookmakers rate PSG weaker than Dortmund + Dortmund has no motivation to achieve victory at any cost (PSG draws are enough). Plus, don’t forget that in the Newcastle - Milan game there is approximately a 25-30% chance that the game will end in a draw. Taken together, these factors will force bookmakers to give very good odds that PSG will not qualify.
1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 28, 2023, 10:44:42 PM

This is my weekly bet

* Genoa - Empoli => Genoa
* Lazio - Cagliari => Lazio
* AC Milan - Frosinone => AC Milan
* Fiorentina - Salernitana => Fiorentina
* Udinese - Hellas Verona FC => Udinese

8.39x is the total quote, if i put 10 euro, i can gain 83 (if i win of course)

A bet against Empoli looks very dangerous. Most recently, Empoli beat Fiorentina and Napoli (by the way, just in away games), and in the last round, although Empoli conceded 4 goals, they scored 3. In general, Serie A is very random, so it is difficult to say that this particular outcome is not worth the risk, but personally it seems so to me.

I hope Napoli can upset Inter, I haven’t checked what the bookmakers think yet, but for me Napoli looks like the favorite.
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 28, 2023, 10:38:21 PM
I have never bothered to find out what my percentage of winning is when it comes to betting, and this is because, personally, I myself know that I have more losses than winning.

But when it comes to copying bets from other gamblers, possibly pro bettors, what I do look at is the number of total bets ever placed, which must be over a million and more, then, the winning ratio must be around 75 to 80 percent, I always consider finding gamblers with the same number of bets and a winning ratio of 85 to 90 percent and above a blessing, because, such stats is very hard to find, except the stats is manipulated.

But for me, over a million bets and a win ratio of 75 to 80 percent is a true pro.

Do these statistics reflect the odds with which the bets were made? If not, then these statistics are useless and can only confuse those who do not know the nuances. If you want to achieve similar statistics, then place bets with odds up to 1.1 and you will easily get this result. The problem is that the deposit will still be in the red.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 28, 2023, 10:31:02 PM
Newcastle will not be missing some important players. I have seen some important players like joelinton, or even almiron was playing in EPL. They will not miss the game against PSG. PSG was also slowly building their momentum.
I kinda feel this is going to be ended with draw as the result. Newcastle have to win the game as the only solution to make club qualify for the knock out stage.

PSG being favored to win the game instead of newcastle. I knew that bookies were valuing the consistent result by PSG in league 1 but statistically, there was no club in league 1 who is as strong as newcastle.

What do you think about btts? I kinda feel this is a sense choice consider newcastle and PSG willnot try to miss opportunity to get three points.

I also think that the game will end in a draw, because when I try to imagine how one of the teams can win, I see that both teams have arguments in favor of this and the weaknesses of both teams are also approximately the same. I would again bet on Newcastle but I think in this game the home field factor balances the odds.
As for BTTS, this is an obvious choice, so I won’t do it (haha) since the coefficient will be too low. I would choose BTTS No if the odds are greater than 2.5.

Well  Cool
Although I must admit that although the final result was fair (thanks to the heroism of the Newcastle goalkeeper), the way in which this result was achieved does not seem logical at all.
But now, unfortunately, the intrigue in this group has almost died, since in the last round it is enough for PSG to draw with the demotivated Dortmund, which qualified ahead of schedule for the 1/8 (who would have imagined such a thing lol).
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 28, 2023, 10:01:45 PM
Considering that the relationship between Osimhen and Napoli has suffered greatly, I think that this transfer is very likely, but not in the winter transfer window. What is the point of rushing so much if Osimhen and Napoli will be in the 1/8 of the Champions League (Braga is unlikely to overtake them) and will have a chance to compete for the most prestigious European title?
Financially, Chelsea is quite ready to spend any amount of money to realize their plans, but several players have to be sacrificed here. Yes, I don't think it will happen quickly, even though currently Osimhen relationship with Napoli management is less than harmonious. Nkunku, Jackson and Broja are the strikers that Pochettino currently has, with the arrival of Osimhen one of them will automatically be sacrificed.

It is true that whoever is the striker who is recruited, if it is not supported by a playmaker who is able to distribute the ball well, will look mediocre, even if it is Osimhen. On the other hand, the Blues must ensure that their transfer policy avoids FFP violations, because that could destroy them with sanctions.

Actually, Pochettino needs one or two good players in defense too, so as not to concede four goals in one match in a row. But we'll see what steps the management and Boss Pochettino will take. For me, with the current squad, they need several seasons to become more mature.

I would rather believe that Everton will be punished a second time for one violation than that Chelsea or City will be punished for a dozen of their sins  Grin
As for several seasons, it seems to me that for top clubs (Chelsea seems to be claiming to correspond to this status) such a concept simply does not exist. The result is needed here and now. If by the summer there are no clear positive dynamics for Chelsea, then Pochettino will be replaced and the entire squad will be reviewed again.
