So I'm guessing all the new 2 unit avalons are mining at 71 GH and not the 63 gh as was on the website?

The default setting of the firmware is 300 MHz, so yes, about 70 to 71 GH/s

My machines came with a firmware dated May 2013

The latest firmware is 20130607 but newer firmwares with overclocking up to 350 MHz are in the works (check the custom hardware forum threads), giving over 80 GH/s

oh yours were DEFAULT 300?!?! I wonder if avys yields have been gettin better or what...

only if you OC them...
1783  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Batch #2 still shipping or finished? on: June 21, 2013, 03:55:50 PM
still waiting on my avy =(...wish they would ship already, its gonna be july now before I see her =(
1784  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Countdown to a million chips! on: June 21, 2013, 02:02:07 AM
now only if they would get their fucking units delivered...
1785  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: avalon Chip Frequency could run over 300Mh on: June 21, 2013, 01:57:58 AM
It is entirely doable Smiley

I will be selling boards that run the Avalon chips at 350mh/s. Check my signature link!

Would it be software to use someone like yours firmware & flash them to our actual avy units?
1786  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon's New Factory! ;D on: June 20, 2013, 02:43:06 PM
They'd be able to charge much more. Both bitfury and KNC are future preorders with no proof. He is saying they'd be in stock like erupter blades when sold, if sold, if made, if created.

Fairly certain of two things:

1. batch 4 will be based off bran new chip design. Be it a BFL or Bitfury derivative or license or in-house developed
2. After the batch delays from Avalon their 'name' is worth a lot less then you would expect. They have to match or beat market price per Gh/s and W/gh to be successful.

um...yufi stated there probably wont be a batch 4... the new chip design will probably just be released in raw chips...not actual built units.

my gosh this community is full of a bunch of greedy fucks... disgusting.

Oh well, thats how bitcoin works... backed by greed =)

also keep in mind one of the GPU's VRM banks run amazingly hot compared to the other. Between 10-20c hotter. Use gpu-z to verify temps.

ha, most hilarious post Ive seen in a while OP =P

fuck, I havent even gotten tracking yet...this delay is making me very upset =/ its practically worthless ... soon ...

1793  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: The Lowest heat producing Radeon card? on: June 13, 2013, 04:21:47 PM
I would second the 7790 - Ive gotten one to do 315mh/s @ 1200mhz
The thing had hardly any hot air around the HSF and it was running at like 50-60C
Used barely any power, it was over 3mh/s/watt
1794  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS 5 X6500 FPGAs on: June 13, 2013, 02:57:46 PM
wow - this is the first, decent price Ive seen on fpga's =P ..

BTW - Im surprised the ones on the diablotek PSU didnt blow up or the PSU blow up...those PSU's are utter SHIT!

dude... 100c!?!?!? please ship those cards to me, I wont abuse the fuck outta them!

hrm... last  I checked, bitcoin does benefit humanity =P
1797  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013/06/11 Bitcoin Magazine - Five Reasons You Should Not Use the Internet on: June 11, 2013, 08:30:21 PM
Wait, Im confused, help me out here... this is kinda like saying - here are the reasons why you shouldnt use bitcoin, or why bitcoin will fail... but when applied to the internet, it skyrocketed in adoption over time...

Is that where the article was going? =) if so, brilliant ... hehe
1798  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Silverstone 1500w - Does that mean 1500w DC output or max input ac on: June 11, 2013, 05:05:18 PM
Power supplies are rated by their maximum DC output, so at true full load you will be pulling a few hundred watts more than the label rating due to efficiency losses.

You're likely exceeding the current limit for one of the 12v rails which causes the shutdown.

Hardly any modern decent high wattage PSU has seperate regulated 12v rails =)
In fact, I think no decent high watt PSU has seperate rails. That was a huge fad that kinda disappeared.

Also, to the OP... you arent tripping your mains breaker are you? thats pretty close to a 15amp limit on 110/120v mains...

Another thought is, some PSU's hate being heavily crossloaded(no / little power being used on either 3.3/5v & almost all being used on 12v or visa versa) .. usually this just results in overall effeciency drop, but not complete shut down. This is rarely seen in highend 1kw+ PSU's

1800  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What kind of rig should I get if no electricity cost? on: June 08, 2013, 02:32:15 AM
and that is fine...? still making tons of extra money
Ok, I see what your saying, w/ unlimited power - yeah you could purchase enough hardware for a 100GH GPU farm and be quite profitable for a while. Yeah you can, but expect it to become ur fulltime job for maintenance on the entire farm. You would have to find a place that could take that power draw - standard house wont really do for a massive farm.
Just plug the numbers into a calculator like http://www.coinish.com/calc/#
Which calculate based on a predicted diff increase curve. You can see the hopeful potential profit you can make.
Expect it to take quite sometime to get ROI on the initial investment
Figure you can sell all the parts for about 50-60% of what you bought them for, given they all still work fine =)

I just ran some quick #'s... if 100GH in 7970's cost about 50k USD - and diff & price stayed the same, you would barely / never make ROI, even after selling stuff for 60% initial cost.
Now, you would make ROI if u hoarded the mined coins and hoped they went to insane value someday =)
