1801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How was last crypto bear market on: April 18, 2022, 12:25:34 PM
This question is for those that are here when bear market of 2018 stormed the crypto space, how doesn't it feel like? All those staking for perceive income makes sense at all? Or returns went so bad and makes staking looks like a bad idea? How does it felt like.
I feel bad remembering that time, the day was crypto is in doomed and many people become hopeless. But I was then feeling regrets for not thinking about the future of crypto as I was influenced by my emotions and selling my asset rather than buying more.

However, I wasn't going to compare it now. The market even looks better even during the bear season as prices never are that bad and worse trend than before. Honestly, I was glad to see the changes.
1802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: April 15, 2022, 09:00:29 PM
For now, let's leave the discussion about it as this thread is for Ugas and Spence.

Exactly, let's discuss other things after this Saturday's fight.

Below are some options, actually my favorites options as most of my boxing bets are coming from this kind of market. Betting on Spence via Decision is not so attractive but for me this fight is money on the bag for Spence but I doubt he could KO Ugas. Your thoughts.

Errol Spence to win by decision is clearly the best choice for this fight, however, are we not underestimating Ugas? Similar to Spence he has a jab that he can use intelligently, he has good counter punches similar to what we have witnessed vs. Pacman and he can also pressure his opponent in the ring. Considering that this might be a close fight and boxing is a corrupt sport, I reckon also gamble on the draw hehehehe.

You have a point mate, it is worth it to put a few dollars on the "draw" option, and the bulk of our bet will be in the "Spence via Decision win".

When Ugas fought Manny Pacquiao, I thought that the former is too slow for Manny but the opposite happened, Manny was the one who could not avoid those crispy jabs of Ugas and I lose my bet on that fight not because I underestimated Ugas but because of putting too much premium on Manny's fight against Thurman.

Come Saturday's fight, Ugas will be the old man, and the amount of money involve for the much-awaited Welterweight unification between Crawford vs Spence is too big then i think Spence will pocket the "W" here.

I haven't thought of betting on the "DRAW", but looking at the odds, that attracts me. I would consider putting some money on the "DRAW" result, who knows, if this will be a close fight, remath could be possible, and the anticipated fight between Spence and Crawford will be delayed.
1803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 15, 2022, 02:04:29 PM
There were rumors that Simmons could return for the first round. He's good at defense but I don't know about chemistry. It's probably a bad idea to let him join the team at this stage.
It's best not to insert Ben as of this time. This is playoff games already and for sure teams are going to foul him if the score are close to force him shot free throws and hopefully he can missed both. He will be a liability.

As far as I know, Simmons may return on April 25-29. It's worth noting that these days the Nets and Celtics will already be playing 4-6 games in the first round. So I guess Nash won't take the risk of putting Simmons on the court during such important matches. At the same time, I doubt that the Celtics will purposefully use the "Hack-A-Shaq" tactic against Simmons, even if he plays in the first round.

He was probably training hard to improve his FT shooting. They have the best trainer, which is Kyle Korver.
https://www.netsdaily.com/2021/9/29/22701369/kyle-korver-finally-with-nets-as-an-assistant-finds-his-first-pupil-nic-claxton

So definitely we will see some improvement from Simmons once he played, however, his defense should remain as intact as it was when he was still with the Sixers.

He needs that because if he cannot shoot well in FT line, the popular hack a Shaq strategy will be employed on him and that would make the game boring. I understand that every team's goal is to win, but using this strategy to defeat the opponent is so boring at its finest.

Even Howard has improved his shooting, so for sure he can improve under a good coach or trainer. Nets are not stupid to get Simmons in exchange for James Harden if they don't believe that they can develop Simmons into a complete NBA player. Let's keep our patience, we will definitely see him playing soon in the playoffs.
1804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason people join bitcointalk forum on: April 15, 2022, 09:25:37 AM
Yeah you are right, most people are in this forum just to make money of it, the number of Bounty hunters in this forum now is just unbelievable. Like most people even think that Bounty hunting is the primary objective of this forum, and those who don't think will actually need to rank up to gain more money in the signature campaign.
For they think that the Bitcointalk forum is a good source of income, MONEY.
Perhaps, we can't deny the reality, those who often search for an online job might fall in here and see the great opportunity. But I think this was just all about earning money upon joining signature campaigns and bounties, we've also learned ideas, getting to know about cryptocurrency.

But I have some suggestions for you mate,
Instead of focusing on joining bounties and signature campaigns, it was also better to learn trading or simple investment. This perhaps gives you a passive income somewhat in the future if you were good on that.
1805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 15, 2022, 07:02:49 AM
This is what I meant because regular games is really different compared to the pressure of play-in and playing in the playoffs and the Hawks have already that experience so it's quite easy for them to dominate the young Hornets. Against the Cleveland Cavs, I'm still going with the Hawks.

On a contrary, I will go with the Cavaliers here and expect goods for them as an underdog.

I also like the chances of the Cavaliers against the Hawks. They have a good size advantage and hopefully they will not let the Hawks takes an early lead just like they did on the Nets game.

Just make it close or even they themselves take a good lead at their home court. And if the pattern holds true, (home team wins), then they have a good chance against the streaking Hawks.

I will stick with the pattern, and yes I like the Cavaliers here because they are playing at home. Bookies understands their chances that's why they are only +2 now, hopefully they'll not panic in this play-in due to lack of experience.

1807  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reaches maximum, target $80K BTC on: April 15, 2022, 04:36:55 AM

In my personal opinion I see it as a good time to invest a good amount in BTC and leave them a few months to mature, what do you think? Will they do the same as me?

BUY, HOLD, and SELL.
Holders will decide when to buy and when to sell. They put into consideration buying coins during the bear season or price correction, eventually, we are currently in correction status now. I simply say, "Just do what is in your mind", and you will never regret it.

The market isn't yet making an uptrend momentum, the market is still weak. This is an opportunity for us in preparation for the upcoming Bullrun which we probably expected to come next year.
1808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How are your shitcoins? on: April 15, 2022, 03:43:33 AM
Are they OK? Cool

If Bitcoin surges, shitcoins go up LESS, if Bitcoin goes through a dip, shitcoins go down MORE. Bitcoin is currently only a few percentages from ATH. Everything in this part of the bull cycle might be only for Bitcoin.
Indeed, They are just fine and stuck in my wallet for many years.
Apparently, I sometimes check on them to know if there is one of them got a market value in the market but unfortunately, there no new things to view, many of them are still $0.
Reading almost every posts? There are too much negative that had been answered here meaning that shitcoins really does not any value for long term? Just very few post above me that matters about positve things but majority says it even.
Maybe there is no much to talk here as my shitcoins stays in my wallets and will be there forever unless one day there will be a good value in outside.

I don't want to feel disappointed, I'm already aware of the situation that this really happens to shitcoins. I was just waiting for a miracle. lol Grin

Los Angeles Clippers VS New Orleans Pelicans

Right now the losing team Clippers against the Timberwolves is facing against the team the Pelicans that won against the Spurs, Stake odds are 1.59 for the Clippers while 2.43 for the Pelicans, right now Jason Preston, and Kawhi Leonard can not play for the Clippers while Luke Kennard is questionable, and Zion Williamson can not play for the Pelicans, even though the Pelicans have won against the Spurs it is highly unlikely they will be winning against the Clippers, the Los Angeles Clipper have a close match against the Timberwolves and I think Paul George will likely to do against what he's done against the Timberwolves, so my pick will be the Clippers, and the last match against the Pelicans was a tremendous loss for the Pelicans with 19 points lead for the Clippers.

It will be PG vs CJ.. They have faced each other already in the playoffs before but on a different team, the time CJ was with Blazers while PG was with the OKC. Now with different teams, let's see which team will advance in the playoffs, Clippers have the edge because of the home-court advantage, but it should not be an easy task for them to see how the Pelicans are playing with great chemistry.

Adjustment is necessary, PG is a good scorer but they should not rely heavily on him, ball movement is still very important as this Clippers team are full of talent that could contribute anytime.
1810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: April 14, 2022, 04:02:47 PM
And someone mention that Donaire's Prime where somewhere in early 2010's which I highly agree.

Sometimes this kind of discussion will lose the excitement of the fight, if used the word prime, we can always make it as an excuse if our fighter will lose. Donaire may not on his prime anymore but look what he did in his previous fight, he still has the power and has become more mature in choosing his strategy.

Inoue's hardest fight IMO is against Donaire, so let's think that it's Donaire has a decent chance of winning in this rematch.
1811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: April 14, 2022, 03:18:55 PM
Then those who created this rumor against Casimero is not doing it right because people are going to talk about it, so creating another hype for Casimero for which the supposedly people behind is hell bent on destroying his reputation.

Nevertheless, from the looks of it, the fight is going to happen and those rumors have backfired already.

Hoping also that this will be Casimero vs Butler as announced by Probellum and no more weight problems/issues for Casimero so that he will still be the champion when he comes home to the Philippines. The only thing that puzzles me is why Sean Gibbons is sending Sultan to England, in fact, he is already there.

I hope Gibbons won't ruin this fight and also hoping that Sultan was sent there in case problems arise and he could be the replacement fighter.

Those video that have surfaced in the internet yesterday in the channel of Quadro Alas that was saying Casimero was denied to his UK Visa and saying that Jonas Sultan was already there earlier this week to replace Casimero. That specific video was just a prank organized by Quadro Alas that he was cancelled because of the said reason, earlier today, Casimero arrived in Manchester, England.

That was like a delayed April Fools prank. Anyway, I'm happy that he is already in the country where the fight is scheduled to happen, he can continue his training so he can ensure a win and defend his title. The world is watching this fight, but I like him to win so he can give a good challenge to the winner of the Donaire vs Inoue fight.

Just less than 2 weeks to wait, I'm excited.
1812  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN will rise on: April 14, 2022, 07:21:11 AM
we know that 2021 is the year where bitcoin has experienced a high increase but also experienced a sharp decline, it can be said that bitcoin has fluctuated.
Of course, with a deep and impactful correction to date, it is certainly not profitable for bitcoin to be able to recover immediately, but will there not be another recovery?

I tried to summarize from some of the writings of analysts about bitcoin in 2022 which might provide enlightenment and can also predict;

snip~
Despite the current decline and market condition, many people are still optimistic this year. Of course, we can't just ignore the possibilities but we also have to consider the market demand that becomes a factor in its slow recovery. We never lose hopes, however, we can't also assure that this year 2022 is still bullish. I'd tried to look at the history and it was to find out that after the Bullrun here comes the bear season and this is what we have experienced now.

Of course, whales, and crypto experts are dumb positive about what will happen next but most of the time, they overly think about the situation.
1813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does staking even make any sense on: April 14, 2022, 06:48:36 AM
snip~

LEOS is not very popular, I'm probably the only person who took notice to it.

On twitter there are discussions about ADA staking which people are suggesting to  withdraw the ADA they have from exchanges to stop staking in centralize exchanges.
Half of the people I believe contradicts this position because staking on Binance for example gives them 5% than staking on personal wallet which is just about 2%.  The math speaks more when it comes to where to stake though.
Well, the thing is that staking become the preference if you wanted to earn more percentage compared to just holding it in your pocket.
I even imagine that 5% staking ADA is quite big enough as I'd sometimes staked 3% APY from the other coins. It was then to notice that APY percentage depends on the market volume and the popularity of the project, it was to see that less popular gain the higher APY compared to old coins. Like to see this kind of offering...

1814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 13, 2022, 10:34:30 PM
I managed to hit all 3 of my bets yesterday. Cavs with the spread. Nets to win outright. Then a multi-bet with the Nets and Wolves winning. I’m not sure who I’ll take today. Maybe the Hornets with the spread and the Pelicans to win outright. I feel pretty good about the Pelicans being able to beat the Spurs, but the Hornets game could really go either way in my opinion. I feel like the Hornets have a pretty good chance to cover the spread though as long as their young guys don’t choke under pressure. I don’t think they will.

Congrats mate, I think you are just a few who thinks that the spread can't be covered by the Nets because of the Cavs height advantage.

But in this game, the Pels are the favorite, but the Spurs young team can't be discounted, just like the last game, they've lost by they were able to cover the +10.5 against the Mavs at a good odds. So I might go with them +5.5 again.

Young roster but they have a veteran coach, I would not even hesitate to go with the ML as I have a feeling we will see the first road team to win in the play-in. However, if you are not comfortable with my pick, getting +5.5 is okay, that's the safest side.

Yes, I agree, this is a great match although the Spurs seemed to be undervalued here. IMO, what matters here is the coaching job, and since coach pop is already a Hall of Famer, I believe he has the edge in the coaching job and playoffs are not new to him. No all-star for the Spurs but they played well as a tema, chemistry is a big asset for the success of the team.
1815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: April 13, 2022, 10:06:56 PM

The first fight was really close, and we have to understand as well that it was a tournament, WBSS (World Boxing Super Series), and we have seen the best bantamweight that time and it was Donaire and Inoue. Donaire though fell short and lost, but since then Donaire has won a belt so this clash has more motivation on the side of Nonito to avenge his lost at that tournament and show the world that he is the best bantamweight in this rematch.

Overall it was not close because the result was a unanimous victory by Inoue, it was just that time Inoue was too careless and he was injured, good thing he knows how to handle himself and he adjusted in order to win the fight. I am seeing the same result in the rematch because of Donaire could still not KO Inoue, for sure he will loss again.
1816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop in 2022 on: April 13, 2022, 11:38:45 AM
Though there are chances where an airdrop can have a value, they are very limited  Only good projects has it but they are very hard to find. Most people would suggest that you must try to find a reliable source of profit rather than relying on airdrops that would end up having no value.
I've quite hesitant to see them having an airdrop activity, might they're some but the majority are not doing any. That is why we could say that almost 100% of these airdrops today are useless, they are just consuming our time doing the task but the rewards are shitcoins.
We can never think that we get back last 2016-2017 when airdrops are valuable, I'd remember those days joining and earning decent income coming from airdrops coins.
1817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you spread BTC to people within you on: April 13, 2022, 10:55:04 AM
In our store (cp repair and accessories shop) we're accepting Bitcoin as payment, its our own little way to spread the word to our customers.
That is still an option. Some establishments come to a strategy of putting signage that they are accepting Bitcoin and some Altcoins. I'd assume you are doing this as well for awareness.

Quote
But im only explaining to those people who are showing interest, like asking further questions about Bitcoin. Because I dont want people to feel that im forcing them to engage themselves in Bitcoin because I have past experience of encouraging someone then held me responsible after he lose his money due to scam.

It is really important to know their role and responsibility as a holder. Asking someone who has deep knowledge about Bitcoin will enlighten them and got the answers to questions in their mind. We have to encourage them to ask and give them a clear understanding of Bitcoin for this will be the way to rid their negative view against crypto.
1818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 12, 2022, 12:25:27 PM
The Cavaliers size makes them a tough matchup for the Nets who lack in that area. I’d be a little hesitant to bet on the 8.5 point spread. I do think the Nets will win, but I don’t think it will be easy. The Cavaliers are definitely capable of winning, so it isn’t a sure thing for the Nets. I do hope they pull it off though, as I really want to get a look at them with Ben Simmons on the floor and he’s rumored for a possible comeback for round one of the playoffs if they can survive the play in tournament. Hopefully they secure that tomorrow.

Great input, Cavaliers are an underrated team, so they might pull an upset here. Though I still think that NBA would rather want the Nets to be in the playoffs as they are a major attraction, so I'm thinking refs will be with them if they'll struggle in the game.
1819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 12, 2022, 11:39:17 AM
The sad part is he was not informed early until it was leaked to ESPN. Ouch! Surprises. Lakers management does love that.  Grin
Now the roster, we might be surprised too in the next days to come or before the season starts again. I bet they are going to overhaul that roster again and seek players that are younger. Who knows, they might be done with making a veteran lineup again.
Where would Howard go that will make him more productive and be back with 20+ minutes per game? I wish a team signs him up. It's too cheap for just $2.6M for an agile 37 years old.
He will be a great asset for this era being dominated by 3 giant players.

Well! that's just how it is if the management doesn't like the result of your hard work and you failed to give them the championship they wanted to further expand their profits from the Lakers merchandise and other stuff. The question is, who will gonna replace Frank after this season? I'm sure it will be a huge challenge for whoever it will be because they will gonna overhaul the entire roosters and they gonna trade Westbrook

According to the rumors Nick Nurse (you can find a lot of articles in Google) is the frontrunner for the next Lakers head coach. He could be a good coach for the Lakers with his experience in the Finals against a top caliber team like the 2019 GSW.
There rumors as well that Westbrook might be traded to Indiana for Buddy Hield and  Malcom Brogdon. That seems a pretty fair trade though.
The Lakers also have cleared Loul Deng's contract and they might be looking to rebuild another good roster. Well, I hope they'll resort to a younger talents this time rather signing a veteran.

Yeah, that was the rumor.
https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2022/4/11/23020511/lakers-reportedly-targeting-nick-nurse-juwan-howard-head-coach-rumors-candidate-frank-vogel

He was once a champion, lead the Raptors to its first championship, so for sure he has the talent to manage the talented team like the Lakers.
Hopefully Lebron will listen and will not overpower the coach as that is the nightmare of every coach that has worked with him.
1820  Other / Off-topic / Re: An Unforgettable Day In my Crypto world on: April 12, 2022, 09:17:35 AM
Sometimes we got dragged by being greedy, we think that if we are lucky today it will still stay until tomorrow. That was wrong and we don't have to carry this kind of mindset, we just to be fulfilling enough to earn a small profit but at least it was continuous.
It was not wrong to aim to earn more but in a situation like this, putting all of your money into a single trade is risky.
I suggest getting back to the old strategy you have used before, that I think was more effective than the new one. And I felt bad hearing that story.
