After the crash at lap 54, what the hell happened after? I was so sure that Lewis got this in the bag with his consistent form and driving but what just happened after the safety car at lap 57?
Max wins, but it was not his merit this time. BRB strategy was good. And he was super lucky too (although I am not convinced that Lewis' tyres would have done good until the end at race speed for all the ending laps).

Thanks for the quick summary though I watched the race from a live coverage I received.

Though what baffled me was that, Lewis was marching and blazing through the laps. Even if Verstappen had the soft tyres and pitted twice, Lewis managed to kept his hard tyres with around a +16s gap at lap 54. I was so sure that he was going to win his 8th title but the crash from Latifi resulted to a safety car. The question is, do you think it is just that Verstappen overtook 3 cars when the safety car was deployed?
2702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my Bitcoin when I die? on: December 13, 2021, 01:34:28 PM
If I die (let's be honest, that will probably happen), would my wife or family get my coins? What if they don't know my passwords/private key?

If you happen to die without sharing your private key/wallet to someone else or to your family members, then they will be lost forever or just stuck there- thus contributing to its inflation in the future. Just to give you an example, Satoshi Nakamoto owns around 750,000-1,000,000 BTCs in his wallet but they remained to be untouched. This is why some speculated that he may be dead due to the lack of movement from his address.

That is why, it is somehow advisable that you store your BTCs in a hardware wallet and brief your wife/family members about its existence in the event that you unexpectedly die. In this way, they will be able to reap the benefits you left compared to it being stuck forever.
2703  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bloomberg: Gcash Considers Cryptocurrency Trading and Stocks Platform on: December 13, 2021, 09:14:55 AM
Quote
Globe Fintech Innovations Inc., mother company of the leading mobile e-wallet Gcash, announced on Monday, December 6, its plans to consider a platform that will allow the users of its mobile wallet to invest in cryptocurrencies and local and global equities. The idea was disclosed by its CEO, Martha Sazon, in an interview with Bloomberg Television.

This is definitely superb news kabayan!

As someone who lacks a bank account, the convenience of GCASH providing stock investment opportunities and cryptocurrencies ay sobrang helpful talaga lalo na't iisang platform na lang ang kailangan. Parang yung ginawa ni BDO, gumawa din sila ng sarili nilang stock platform within their banking application. Ngayon at GCASH naman ang gagawa nito, mas madaming tao ang mahihikayat na mag invest at mag try din ng stocks at the same time. Hopefully, mag come into fruition itong idea as soon as possible!
2704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot Machine Strategy? on: December 12, 2021, 06:34:44 PM
Does waiting to get on a machine that gets heavily played a legit strategy?  Does it make more sense to play different types of machines or play one machines for a long period of time? Etc etc..

Playing the slot machine is like rolling the dice- no matter how hard you try, it all relies on pure luck.

I doubt that there are slot machines that are programmed to show a specified result after pulling its lever. I also doubt that there are any present techniques or tips on how to at least minimize the risks of losing since a person relies purely on luck in this type of gambling. Unlike poker or any card games where it involves an element of skill, slot machines are heavily based on luck that require no skill nor thought. If such skill is existing, then slot machines would be irrelevant and obsolete by now.
2705  Economy / Economics / Re: A majority of Gen Z investors think crypto will make them millionaires on: December 12, 2021, 05:46:29 PM
Don't be surprise if this is what new generation thin about it since this is what information feed them by some social media influencer and little part is the hype brought by the mainstream media especially when there's a bull market run happening. That's why we also see that many new got scam since they think about that the platform they invest their money can give them huge wealth or can make it as passive income generator.

Over the past years, new investment methods have been introduced into the world with people exploring different ideas and ways to earn money. After the rise of cryptocurrencies, mine coins have started to rise resulting into a 'pay-2-play' system (e.g. Axie Infinity) where people invest before they could earn money.

It is but obvious that people under the generation Z are exposed to the innovative ways of earning investments in this day and age. Who knows that maybe in the next 5-10 years from now, another innovative method would be introduced that is also highly effective in rendering millions in profit depending on their investments.

The point is, crypto was introduced in the height of the internet where people are slowly exposed to its long-term effects.
2706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats the point hodling, if you can't risk it all? on: December 12, 2021, 05:27:42 PM
There's a reason why bitcoin still is the most recommended cryptocurrency to 'hodl', simply because it has one of the best risk/reward assets today. 99% of cryptocurrencies are simply not for long-term 'hodling' for obvious reasons.

Also, 'hodl' never meant that if you're 'hodling' you end up with totally zero risk. 'Hodling' is simply just a better strategy for the large majority, compared to buying in and out of price swings and end up with a lot less coins that they've started with.

You are definitely correct. HODLing is by far the most convenient way of investing your BTCs for long-term investment. By basing one's decision purely on the price history of bitcoin, one can have this reassurance and hope that its price would skyrocket 3-4 years from now or from the next fork.

Personally, if I could have saved majority of my BTCs that I earned last 2017, I would have re-invested it and probably purchase more on the process. That is why, I adopt HODLing as my primary source of investment method rather than risking it through gambling, trading, etc.
2707  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.031 btc loan without collateral on: December 12, 2021, 03:38:01 PM
I'm asking for a loan of 0.031 btc for the purpose of investing and trading. I will pay back once I get my profit. if you have any questions/you want to know something towards it, feel free to ask in here or in pm.

Please move your thread to this board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0 as there is a specific lending section where people request for such.

You are a newbie asking for a non-collateral loan- I doubt that anyone would risk their BTCs to your contingent offer, specifically that you mentioned on your own words that I will pay back once I get my profit. which is highly dependent upon you receiving profit from trading which is a highly-risked environment.
Lastly, try to provide any collateral that can be equated to the amount that you are asking.
2708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Machine Learning truly predict Bitcoin's price? on: December 12, 2021, 03:29:46 PM
I've watched a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of articles that claim that you can predict the Bitcoin price with Machine Learning and artificial intelligence like using some algorithm. Truth be told it is both intriguing and almost at the same time confusing. Personally, I don't think any ML or AI tech can make any price prediction now because we have a lot of whale manipulation (because the market size is smaller than any other market). Well, while I may be wrong I would like to know what you think. Have you ever gotten a satoshi richer by following the prediction of an algorithm?

Hmm this is an interesting concept especially when you consider the computation of the algorithms which look for the most probable move but I doubt that it may be able to predict accurately the price of BTC.

Remember that the price of cryptocurrencies derive from several external and internal factors that can be outside the control of anyone. Even if machines take it into consideration, there will always be that +/- variable which can either make or break one's investment.
2709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: December 12, 2021, 02:42:51 PM
Can someone explain to me what happened ever since Latifi crashed? I think Lewis deserves this win so much. Mercedes took the risk of pitting once with those hard tyres and Lewis drove exceptionally throughout the entire race. After the crash at lap 54, what the hell happened after? I was so sure that Lewis got this in the bag with his consistent form and driving but what just happened after the safety car at lap 57?

Well nevertheless, congratulations for Max Verstappen for winning this race! The last lap was just the most nerve-wrecking lap that I have witnessed!
2710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading platform on: December 11, 2021, 11:56:24 PM
I'm thinking of starting out as a day trader. I'm still scouring the internet about information and tips about it, then I'll practice with paper trading. One question I have is about popular platforms/exchanges. From what I know, day traders make about 100+ trades a day.

Won't taker/maker fees basically wipe out your already slim profits?

There are certain exchanges that offer a relatively low percentage per trade- you could probably search this on the internet but I highly recommend using binance as your main exchange platform if you plan on day-trading.

As per your knowledge that day traders do about "100+ trades a day", it is somehow worrying to have this kind of mentality especially that you are just starting as a beginner. My advice would be to trade as little amount as possible in order you could gain the experience of trading. Just like in driving, no matter how you read tips and guides about it, the only way to learn is through actual experience.
2711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: December 11, 2021, 11:03:52 PM
Again I repeat, it's amazing to see an F1 season being decided only on the last circuit. Has it ever happened that two big favorites were tied in the penultimate stage? Whoever simply gets ahead will be the big winner.

I just hope the race isn't decided by one of the riders off track, that would be disappointing. In case the two leave, what are the tiebreakers?

This season is definitely one of the best seasons yet! It reminded me of the 2010 season where the world champion is decided on the last circuit (this is where Seb won and was declared the youngest world champion). What are your thoughts on the qualifying race? Max was able to snatch pole position which will ultimately affect his place on the grid- I just hope that we will have a clean race this last circuit to avoid any mishaps and damage.

Though Max was able to get pole, I still feel that Hamilton will able to push his limits and snatch his 8th championship title.
2712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will there be no more topics to write about? on: December 11, 2021, 04:32:29 PM
Judging from the fact that this forum has been in existence for a while now and will be for say the next decade, and also that there has been over a 1000 insightful topics and counting from the mass of creative writers here always creating topics on certain subjects say - "Bitcoin discussion", "trading" etc

Is the possibility of all reasonable possible topics on a subject being exhausted getting realer by the day?

Are we going to be seeing more shitty post soon?

Unfortunately, some members and newbies fail to utilize the 'search bar' function on the forum which results to a duplicated and repeated topic that had been answered way back. Another thing, there are also users who create similar threads in order to reach the quota of campaign signatures, which results also to shitposts and spams on the forum.

But judging from the recent development of cryptocurrencies over the years, I doubt that there will be no more topics to write about. There will always be new innovations being introduced and developments that will soon shock the cryptocurrency world.
2713  Economy / Economics / Re: I think most people still trust the USD more than Bitcoin on: December 11, 2021, 04:09:04 PM
Do remember that majority of the people still lack the proper knowledge of understanding cryptocurrencies which hinder the further recognition from it. Given also that fiat is the main currency of exchange around the world, it is obvious that most people would trust USD (or fiat in general) than cryptocurrencies.

While cryptocurrencies have no hindrance in terms of exchanges as it is considered financial freedom, the lack of regulation makes it difficult for its recognition around the world. Also do note that cryptocurrencies can be relatively difficult if you view them primarily as currency.
2714  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 1XBIT campaign could be the next longest running campaign even with scam reports on: December 11, 2021, 03:24:04 PM
It's already there so let's just hope it won't drag new players to the site. The only one that will benefit from that is the site itself as after the campaign ends, those participants will have a hard time joining a campaign unless it's a bounty campaign.

1Xbit is heavily advertised outside the forum with partnerships as well. Even with that, the Bitcointalk community should stick with their hard actions against 1Xbit and their tagged reputation should stay for long.

I think the only problem with the advertisement of 1XBIT campaign are the boards that do not reveal the trust rating of users. It has that possibility of attracting persons or newbies in the forum given the amount of people they hire for their advertisements.

Fortunately for members here in the forum, almost everyone knows the reputation of 1XBIT as a fraudulent gambling website due to its numerous cases of scams and shenanigans. I just hope that before a person attempts to gamble at that website, he/she must search for its reputation here in the forum as lots of threads have been created against that gambling website.
2715  Economy / Economics / Re: Did you realize in real life how Bitcoin gave us financial freedom? on: December 11, 2021, 01:58:22 PM
<snip...>
What about it, when did you realize in real life Bitcoin is giving us financial freedom?

I think it was the time when I bought something using bitcoin via p2p exchanges. I mean, some people do treat BTC as a form of asset or currency but the restrictions imposed on banking (like the one you mentioned on your example) makes it more difficult to experience financial freedom.

I remember back in 2018, my friend referred me someone who was looking for BTC in exchange for his products and electronics. I quickly grab the opportunity since he was selling it at a discounted price. After our transaction, it made me realize that what nothing was hindering us from exchanging.
2716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the single worst piece of advice you ever received relative to Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2021, 12:10:11 PM
I often read lists of tips and other best practices in the Bitcoin world, but i thought it would be interesting to share the worst Bitcoin advice you may have received throughout your adventure in this incredible monetary revolution.

Back in 2017, I stumbled upon a friend who somehow compelled me to invest into USI-Tech, a ponzi-scheme, showing me his results after six (6) months of investing 20 BTCs in his wallet. I was amazed on how the returns were promised (60% after 6 months) and my friend further told me about his experience on investing into such.

After the fifth (5th) month of the investment, the website crashed and all the BTCs I invested were gone! Moral of the story: never trust ponzi-schemes in any manner. While most of us have their respective experiences, generally, ponzi-schemes will definitely steal your investments.
2717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: December 11, 2021, 10:40:11 AM
In the end, it was an easy win for Carlsen (7.5 vs 3.5). Nepo made some blunders in 3 games and this has proven to be fatal for him. I did expect that Carlsen would retain his world title but couldn't really imagine that it would be so simple for him to do it.

Yes mate, I thought it will go down the wire or even a draw. But Carlsen took the advantage of every Nepo blunders in their game.

It was one of the lopsided match and it was a complete meltdown for Nepo.

So now, we have no doubt that we is the best chess player in the world in the last couple of years.

Carlsen really took his time to calculate everything when he had a winning position. Meanwhile, Nepo blitzed out moves in critical moments. Before c5, there was the option to play b4 instead of bxa3, but Nepo just instantly grabbed the pawn. He played c5 with some 50 mins on the clock vs 15 for Carlsen.

As someone who is a big fan of Magnus, I am personally saddened by the state of Nepo in the WC 2021. After game 6, he somehow went downhill especially that in yesterday's games, he blundered which gave Magnus a +4.6 advantage which he slowly raked through the game and converted it to a win!

Magnus retained his 5th WC title but props to Nepo for the brilliant games he played. He definitely challenged Magnus and put up a good fight but at the end, the champion still reigned.
2718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you lose interest to deposit and play more..., on: December 10, 2021, 10:35:51 PM
There is no such thing as perfect online casinos because of the many rules and conflicting laws on the location of their players, there will always be accusations some could be valid some because of misinterpretation of the TOS, so I'd to ask all gambling players do you lose interest to deposit and play on the casinos you're playing if they have unresolved cases.

Before someone gambles, it is essential that you read their TOS in order to avoid any further conflict and issues while playing. If you think that you do not agree with a certain rule mentioned in their TOS, I think it is best if you just avoid the gambling website than to push further- prevention is always better than cure.

As far as I know, the forum had already experienced some players who had issues with specific TOS of gambling websites but in the end, the latter won due to its aleatory contractual nature where they are bound with the agreements once the players agree to it.
2719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Is HODL the only strategy? on: December 06, 2021, 05:01:19 PM
I own different crypto and mostly I stake with them because I am interested in the long return. With bitcoin I am actually doing nothing. Can you suggest any strategies to make even a little APR? I know that I can't stake with bitcoin.

HODL is one of those strategies that will net you income for long-term purposes. Personally, I consider this strategy as one of the safest  and most effective in terms of earning cryptocurrencies hassle free. You just purchase bitcoins during the bear market and HODL it for long-term; you may cash it out depending on your goal or once it reaches the price that you are comfortable with.

Given by the fact that forks do happen, it is inevitable for the denominations of the release of BTC as a reward for miners be reduced. This results to its price increasing in the future which makes this strategy effective for long-term.
2720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice technique on: December 06, 2021, 04:44:00 PM
The game of dice has often been seen as the game of luck which makes many players depend on luck rather than developing skills that can aid their constant winning so am curious to know what are your collection of best dice techniques that have helped you in winning the game of dice.

A technique in dice games? This is something that I have not heard of since throwing the dice simply means relying purely on luck on the odds on what number it will fall on. I doubt that there are any specific techniques that a player might integrate into throwing a dice since everything is just purely on luck. Even if a person does have a technique, I doubt that it will change or be game-breaking to the point that he may be able to predict which number it would fall on.

Like what most people have mentioned, I do avoid dice games due to its reliance purely on luck.
