961  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [unofficial] CoinDebit NO-KYC pre-paid cards? on: December 08, 2023, 01:34:48 PM
Please note that coindebit.io is service is currently down until further notice.
Website is still available and working, but you can't create new cards at the moment.

Here is official announcement from coindebit Founder and CEO:

Quote
Dear CoinDebit users,

CoinDebit will be temporarily shutting down service while we transition to a card issuing provider who can better support our model of accepting bitcoin for prepaid cards. Our current system was strained to the breaking point by rapid user growth. We want to thank all our users as we never expected to have this many users or this level of volume so quickly.

We have an agreement in place with a new provider and we expect that we will be able to resume services within two months. We have learned many valuable lessons from the beta card program and will use the information to design a more robust system for our full product roll out.

Everyone who has outstanding funds on CoinDebit cards will have the option to be issued a refund or to have the balance transferred to a new card when they are issued. If you select to have the balance transferred to a new card we will be giving you first access to the new CoinDebit physical cards. CoinDebit will issue refunds in bitcoin at the current attractive bitcoin prices.

In the meantime, we are building a team and seeking funding to sustain the exponential growth and interest that CoinDebit has been receiving.  Anyone who is interested in CoinDebit’s success should reach out to us as soon as possible.

It is our most sincere intention that CoinDebit propagates bitcoin adoption in any way possible and right now we believe our greatest value add is to give people the ability to spend their bitcoin to pay fiat expenses in the most private way possible.

962  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone been using Pyypl? It seems a potential virtual card can use crypto on: December 08, 2023, 01:12:14 PM
I set up an account with Cardrypto/alchemy pay and I have so far been successful subscribing to Tradingview paid service. I will update how it goes with other services
What card exactly you are using from alchemy pay? Is it from bit.store website or something else?
Please try contacting their ''support'' (Wu Norah bot) and tell me what you think about this service after that  Tongue
Don't add more money there than you are willing to lose, I think they are not going to be live for much longer...
963  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: December 08, 2023, 11:17:01 AM
Here is another big reason why you should never use any Ledger devices and Ledger software applications.
Ledger app source code is not closed source, so someone actually decided to check what's inside, and he discovered that it is full of tracking.
Now this guy is trying to clean the code and use it for some shitcoin, but this is Sisyphos work and a waste of time.
He wrote more about this on his twitter page, but it is clear that ledger is tracking everything...every click, every keystroke is logged and reported to Ledger.

https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1732542258698694875

He released his own version called REKT's Ledger Libre Fork, but be careful if you ever use this:
https://github.com/rektbuildr/ledger-live

Use this ONLY if you have no other choice, maybe for some shitcoin.
For everything else use proven and tested wallets like Electrum, and other open source hardware wallets, not ledger.
964  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [List] Gift cards providers on: December 08, 2023, 10:37:01 AM
Bitrefill? I don't believe so. It's the case for Netflix, Nike, etc. but if you're referring to their VCC then no.
Maybe they changed something recently.
I am 100% sure they had Google Play gift cards that worked in different countries (Germany for example), but I am checking now and they currently have only US based cards.
Not sure if this was the case with other cards they are offering, or only for Google Play cards.
965  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Što jedan coin čini boljime od drugog coina? on: December 08, 2023, 09:31:44 AM

966  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: December 07, 2023, 07:09:13 PM
Bitkey wallet has now officially opened for pre-order with the price of $150 plus shipping and taxes.
That includes hardware device, mobile app, and bitcoin recovery tools if you lose phone, hardware, or both of them.
Note that shipping starts from late February to early March 2024, so don't expect fast delivery.

I think they also created new website with new video commercial:
https://bitkey.world/

Would I spend over $150 for this device?
- No, and Bitcoin is not accepted as payment option  Cheesy

967  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BitBox02 Experiences on: December 07, 2023, 04:48:28 PM
Hi, I would like to upgrade from my ledger S to a new bitbox. I know the ledger S is supposed to be safe, but I've been thinking about it lately.
Do you think I can put the seed of the ledger in the bitbox?
Sure, you can do it, if you already have coins there with addresses you actively use, and if you didn't expose old seed phrase anywhere.
But if you want to be more secure than I would suggest to start fresh and generate everything from zero.

Or is it safer to move the funds with some transactions? (so new seed for the bitbox)
what if I restore with the "ledger" seed, then add a passphrase and finally move them? (this last part is also unclear in my mind  Grin)
I think this is safer, but you will have to pay transaction fees, that are not always cheap.
968  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: alternative to coinomi (android) on: December 07, 2023, 04:34:47 PM
Terrible experience, stay away from coinomi. (Great software, but abandoned)
Next time ask before using anything, especially old outdated closed source wallets  Wink
Many people here could tell you that about Coinimoi, and there are several alternatives you could use, Stack wallet is one of them for privacy multicoins, or you could just use monero-only wallets.
Maybe even Bisq exchange can work like a wallet, it supports Bitcoin, monero and few other coins.

This is one is last alternative I found for desktop (no xmr), but consider it experimental wallet only!
https://github.com/bitlogik/uniblow

I now use Feather for Monero (dust), a hot wallet on my desktop.
It works good, it looks very similar like Electrum wallet, and I think it supports hardware wallets (for people who need that).
969  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone been using Pyypl? It seems a potential virtual card can use crypto on: December 07, 2023, 04:23:37 PM
I managed to make a mixcloud subscription using their new Visa card, but as soon as I deposited more funds. I think this was within 5 minutes. The same old maintenance error message popped up, and I wasn't able to buy anything on AliExpress.

I withdrew all my funds and will never use the service again until they get their shit together.
I think this is the problem with many virtual cards, and it's even bigger problem if you had to perform kyc verification and send them your documents.
Another virtual card I was testing recently was added to Aliexpress without any issue, but when I tried to make a purchase there was some error message and I couldn't complete purchase.
Maybe Aliexpress should also be blames for errors like this  Tongue
970  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Što jedan coin čini boljime od drugog coina? on: December 07, 2023, 04:08:26 PM

971  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov sold his account on: December 07, 2023, 03:02:43 PM
Maybe it's plausible deniability for tax purposes? Wink
Yeah sure, for tax purposes in Russian Federation (or anywhere else in nearby countries) where bitcointalk forum is banned and blacklisted for years  Cheesy
Common Ratimov Symmetrick, come here and talk with us, everyone is eager to see what is actually going on with you.
972  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Što jedan coin čini boljime od drugog coina? on: December 07, 2023, 01:20:19 PM
SirJohn is back baby!    Cool

DOGE
ETH
USDT
TRON
SOL
ETH
ADA
Binance coin

973  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov sold his account on: December 07, 2023, 12:54:10 PM
Positive feedback has no value if the account gets tagged. I'd expect less high profile accounts to be able to stay under the radar longer. Just like claiming to be John Arnold will alert less people than claiming to be Bill Gates.
For someone who looks at his account from outside, everything looks almost perfect.
They can see 17 positive and 2 neutral feedback, there is no negative and that is enough for most people.
I see no other reason why someone would change username and do so much effort in deleting bunch of stuff he wrote before, than for purpose to retire his account.

Let's wait and see what other members from Russian board will say, before we make any final conclusions.
974  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov sold his account on: December 07, 2023, 12:28:17 PM
If this is true, it leaves only one question: why would anyone buy such a high-profile account? Maybe that's the reason he stopped posting in English too, but if the account changed owner, that can't go unnoticed.
Imagine someone else using my account: how long would it last before it's exposed? I hope it doesn't even take a day!
I don't know if you know this, but high profile accounts with positive feedback are very valuable and can be sold/purchased for a lot of money.
Maybe that is the reason why he changed his username recently and sold it with new name instead of old Ratimov, to try and cover the tracks.
This transactions all be done outside of bitcointalk forum, so nobody would have any proof that he did anything.
975  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ratimov sold his account on: December 07, 2023, 12:20:43 PM
I talked with Ratimov from almost the first day of his appearance on the forum and with a probability of 90 percent I can say that Ratimov sold his account. I will sign in more detail if there is time, but attentive users can now study Ratimov account and confirm my thoughts.
I had a feeling he is going to leave bitcointalk forum after he started to delete many of his posts, changes email address, password, and even forum user name.
Maybe he wanted to prevent being banned, and legendary accounts can be very expensive, but I suspect he probably switched to one of his other accounts and he is still active here.
I can't be sure if he sold his account, but we are going to know this for sure when this accounts writes more messages in english.
However, this is not enough proof (yet) to give anyone negative feedback for this.
976  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Passport Official Thread on: December 06, 2023, 06:15:20 PM
I didn't saw this posted here, but looks like guys from Passport Foundation are a bit scared about recent changes in US, so they are dropping plans for Whirlpool support in their Envoy app.
Only way to use Whirlpool is going to be with Sparrow and Samurai wallet, or by forking their open source Envoy app.
New version of Envoy app was released few days ago:

977  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [List] Gift cards providers on: December 06, 2023, 05:47:29 PM
Neither card bitrefill sells is *supposed* to work out of the US.
With that being said there has been some discussion on reddit that they do work in limited instances in other countries, but I have not been able to get them to work.
A few months ago when I got some and gave them to other forum members to test they did not work for them.
It is possible to use them in some cases if you change IP address to US using VPN, but there is no guarantees this will work.
I think they have different gift cards available in different countries, at least that was the case last time I purchased gift cards from them.
Thebitcoincompany.com works in similar way.
978  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where the mixers will promote their projects? on: December 06, 2023, 05:41:13 PM
I have launched a mixer directory site

How can you say that sinbad currently has ACTIVE status when both of their website domains are seized and service is shut down?
Even if they start service again I doubt they are going to use the same name, like they previously changed the name from blender.
I think that even their telegram channel is gone.

979  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT network visualization chart on: December 06, 2023, 05:23:53 PM
after 2 months, I updated the DT network visualization chart.

There were a lot of DT changes
Can someone find LoyceV here?
I thought his bubble is going to be one of the bigger, ones but I can't find him anywhere.
@bitmover It would be interesting if you could make one chart like this but for distrust, let's call it DT distrust network chart Wink

980  Economy / Reputation / Re: For how much money heroes and legends are willing to advertise fraud and scam? on: December 06, 2023, 05:15:18 PM
Governments are generally cracking down on mixers, that does not mean they are a scam.
Everything governments say it's illegal or scam must be bad, right?  Right??
So let's say if one day government say that Bitcoin is illegal, or walking in the street is illegal and not safe, or using cash is bad and spread disease, you will have to think for yourself before accepting this.
First they introduce concept of ''dirty'' and ''clean'' bitcoins, people accept it, and than circus show is ready to start.
You can use this formula for anything else, just replace word 'bitcoin'' with something else.
