1501  Economy / Economics / Re: How will Fed bailing out banks increase inflation? on: March 19, 2023, 07:26:58 PM
Well sort of will, how? This money wasn't in circulation, now it will go into circulation and that's why it will drop the value of dollar, and that will cause inflation because inflation is basically dollar losing value. When dollar does that, usually most other currencies follow the same path as well, they don't have to but they usually do.

This is why I believe that due to this depositors money being safe type of act they do, which is the right option, inflation will happen. Would you rather let people lose billions and not have inflation, or save everyone's money and have inflation? I feel like they made the right choice with this one.
1502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the first success story on: March 19, 2023, 06:09:58 PM
Too many people have similar stories. I had a friend who mocked me for buying bitcoin when it went from 20k to 3k in 2018, he said that bitcoin was crashing and it will be zero and that was the doom event for bitcoin.

I ignored him and kept on buying and we have seen how much it increased, I got lucky and sold at a good price to pay some stuff off but I had nothing left so it wasn't really something that made me rich, I live the same exact life as I did before investing and the only difference is that I would have been much worse if I didn't, I would be dirt poor eating ramen all day but thanks to bitcoin I did not and that is my success story as well.
1503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stay humble and go your own way (invest in yourself) - the best strategy of 2022 on: March 19, 2023, 04:42:25 PM
These are pretty great advices to be fair but too much generic maybe? Like invest into your health? Really? I am not saying everyone does, like I for example do not and I am doing terrible these days and I should invest into my health that's true, I should exercise more, even joined a gym and failed to go after the first month, or should eat better and more organic healthy foods instead of fast food etc etc. I get it, but do you think people don't know this? Or "learn a new skill", well obviously everyone would want to, some do, some don't but everyone knows they should.

Good advices, even great, but too generic if you ask me, let me add one more " do not forget to breathe to stay alive".
1504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What role does tokenomics play in successful altcoins ? on: March 19, 2023, 01:44:10 PM
I think it is very important to remember this could basically make a project go away on the first days. You can have the best tokenomics as you possibly could and still not be doing well at all, but you could be doing terrible as well, because in the end just because you have a great tokenomics doesn't mean that you will be doing awesome neither.

However, if you have a terrible tokenomics then it is 100% guaranteed that nobody will ever care about you and that project will die. So that means you need to have a proper tokenomics, even if it means that you will not be doing well, it still means that you are not doing terrible right from the start.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much these features weigh most when you choose your favorite casino? on: March 18, 2023, 09:32:40 PM
I agree that reputation is the most important thing, because casinos could always be the riskiest thing, you can't even sue them or you know expect any type of legal help if they end up turning out to be a scam, it is way harder.

This is why you have to trust them to be a decent place completely and that is why it is very important. On the other hand, other parts are not unimportant neither, they are of course what makes a casino go from good to great, like a lot of games, or a lot of deposit/withdraw options, rewards, support, all these matter for sure. But if the reputation is not there, then they can have all of those and still not be liked at all.
1506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What You Should Know about USD Coin(USDC) on: March 18, 2023, 09:11:03 PM
No matter how much it is to be trusted and no matter how much audits they go through, in the end it is a stablecoin that promises to be pegged to one dollar and that idea itself, the concept itself is good enough for me to stay away from it.

I understand that some people like it and that is why it exists and billions were spent on buying it and that is why these stablecoins are high in the rankings right now and combine worth more than 100 billion dollars, but that is a mistake of other people not something I will do.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circle plans to expand new DeFi platform (credited for swiftly restoring USDC) on: March 18, 2023, 10:55:55 AM
I would guess that they will try to expand as much as possible to lower the chance of any type of crash they could have and this prevention would help them more than it helps their customers. This defi structure would not be ideal for the customer because they can't be holding them accountable, they will say it is decentralized while also still profiting from each trade but the money will not be in their pockets.

Basically it is the same profit but less responsibility for them and if anything happens the customers can't just knock on circles door and ask for a refund for their mistake, because circle will just go on with their day like they had nothing to do with it.
1508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 17, 2023, 05:35:53 PM
I didn't expected Denver to be this dominant and win by 19 points neither, but to be fair they were this good normally, it was a weird thing for them to not have this win earlier. In the end they are at the top, and what they say about Jokic is true, he is the real MVP of this league right now.

Because aside from him and Giannis, everyone else gets together to win a title, Durant got together with Booker (and irving before and Curry before that) or Lebron with AD or Doncic with Irving, basically everyone gets together, whereas Jokic is the sole superstar of his own team, sure he has good teammates but none of them are superstar level like him, dude is a beast.
1509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: March 17, 2023, 05:05:01 PM
They will play Konya away game today, then Kayserisport at home, Alanyasport away, Karagumruk at home, Besiktas away, Sivassport at home, Ankaragucu away, Fenerbahce at home, and I think they won't be playing Hatay? Right? So when you look at this, as we all know in football they can beat Besiktas and Fener and lose to easier opponents, I am not saying that won't be possible, but by the looks of it the hardest games are away game against Besiktas, which is also in a good momentum, and also the home game against Fenerbahce as well.

This is really enough because they are already up so much, they may even end up beating them and losing some other game.
1510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The journey of successful business man who were professional gamblers on: March 16, 2023, 07:07:01 PM
There is a good connection between people who are gamblers and people who end up owning a casino. They have seen so many times of people losing their entire life there, so they know that if you own a casino that can attract as much people as possible then you are going to end up with a lot of profit. Why do you think there are so many casinos that give out free drinks and show tickets and all that? It's mainly because if you do have a lot of people in your casino then you have a lot of profit.

Giving a 3000 dollar ticket to someone for free could lead to his group losing tens of thousands there if they stay, or giving out free drinks at 5-10 dollars a glass for the casino, could make the person drunker and lose hundreds and hundreds of dollars there. So, they know the business when they watched it and that's why they are so inclined to open one themselves.
1511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 16, 2023, 06:20:32 PM
I would guess that there are no teams that would lead the league in a mathematically nearly impossible to lose like this that ended up losing. I wager that if Napoli ends up selling ALL their players and just field 18 year old or under kids for the rest of the games, they will still not lose the title.

Not because they would win a lot more games, but because I do not think that other teams would end up earning more than 18 point difference during the same period. This is done, this was done a long time ago, it is not just recently done, it has been pretty much guaranteed that they would win when the difference became over 12 points and this is just over at this point.
1512  Economy / Economics / Re: Finally they understand the value of Decentralization ! on: March 16, 2023, 03:58:23 PM
I would guess that people are investing heavily into crypto these days because they are taking their money out of the banking world. This caused a huge spike in bitcoin price as well, and that is why I think we are in a good movement these days, we will probably keep going up for a while but congress and treasury got together on a zoom call just the other day and decided that everyone will be protected.

This means people with over 250k will be still given their money, this will not be from taxpayers money but a prevention fund that banks already pay into, so it is not going to be coming out of anyone's pocket. However, it is still a proof that the system fails, you may recover after the fail, but fails nevertheless.
1513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High gas fee for sending token is still a problem on: March 16, 2023, 02:44:20 PM
I would guess that the most recent increase in price once again clogged the market and that caused a lot of transactions to be more expensive. I do not think that this will go on for a long time, it is already at an acceptable level right now, but the reality is that ethereum gas fee problem is not fixed and it shows once again that in the future when there is a big bull run, we are going to end up paying a lot of tx fee once again and paying for that gas fee is not going to be nice.

I mean ETH is the biggest altcoin and that means there will be plenty of tokens under it, and people who would like to use those tokens will have to pay a huge gas fee.
1514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 15, 2023, 09:41:01 PM
Ronaldo is not getting that much money because he is that much better than everyone else, in fact at this age I would guess that he is right about at the top but that's it, barely the best player at this moment, some games he isn't even their best player to be fair, when he doesn't play his best games.

However, this dude was so good that not only he made the team known more globally, but he literally made the whole league known more, literally the whole league. Thanks to him Saudi Arabia is known a lot more even as a nation, think about it, making a whole nation more famous. This is why I think it is quite obvious he is getting paid for marketing, not his talents.
1515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: March 15, 2023, 09:21:56 PM
Galatasaray doesn't even have that many tough games coming up neither, they are going to face their rivals near the end, so they may end up getting as much as 20 wins in a row, not likely because most teams lose eventually, or even get a draw at least and that's what will happen to Galatasaray as well, just like any other team that is on a winning streak, most teams end up not winning against a weaker opponent.

However, if they end up winning until Fenerbahce, then they will make a record that is unbreakable to everyone, that's for sure. There aren't any games that looks like they "should" be losing, they may lose to weakest team too, or maybe win all of the games, it's unknown.
1516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Beginners Should Not Go For Future Trading? on: March 15, 2023, 09:05:09 PM
Everyone talked about how risky it is but nobody said why as far as I can see. The whole "if you are wrong even just a bit then you will lose it all" is not the real response, of course that is what happens, but why you could be just a little wrong is the key here.

Newbies do not know how likely it is that they would be wrong and lose their money, they know that it is risky, and they know that they have to be right or they will lose it all, but they do not know what the chances of them being wrong is. The chance of you being wrong if you are a newbie and make a wrong bet is over 90%, that is not just made up number, that is the real results of all accounts under 6 months old at bitmex back when they started, so if you are new, don't.
1517  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this what awaits us? on: March 15, 2023, 08:48:04 PM
I get that a lot of people talked about how this will not happen because it is huge and this type of insanely high level of inflation only happened in the past and also locally and not a global thing. However, let me put a new perspective on it, you are saying it happened in the past, but we have seen a huge inflation during 2020-2022 period as well, maybe not this high, but it was still pretty high and destroyed many peoples economy and finances right? Which means bitcoin was still better option during that period.

Secondly you are saying localized, but that means it may happen in your nation too, so why not take some defensive measures and buy bitcoin in case your nation becomes like Venezuela?
1518  Economy / Economics / Re: How SVB fall going to affect bitcoin, crypto in general? on: March 15, 2023, 06:11:05 PM
I think it looks like a good thing for us. People first reacted as if it was a bad thing because there could be some crypto money in there, and right now we know that government will cover the deposits so there is nothing wrong just yet.

However, it is also quite important to face the reality that we are dealing with something that will hurt the fiat world a lot. Due to this fact, we are going to have crypto people reacting as if we are dealing with something that will be killing fiat so they will all go into crypto instead. This increases the price of bitcoin and all the other coins as well. Look at the price and look at what it was just last week and you will see the difference.
1519  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank Bailouts and Stock Market. on: March 15, 2023, 05:40:39 PM
I think layoffs won't be avoided, that will happen one way or another, that is coming for sure, however if bailouts happen then we are going to see a lot less banks and bankruptcies as well.

They should be able to save themselves if there is an injection of money, just like we saw in the 2008 crash that when you give these banks hundreds of billions of dollars to save themselves, they will somehow manage to do that and it could be a big debt on their shoulders but they will manage to handle it when they are conservative with their money instead of betting on silly stuff. They just need years to get it back but they will do so, so I do not think that we will lose any more banks if bailouts happens.
1520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins and Ether are ‘going to be commodities,’ reaffirms CFTC chair on: March 14, 2023, 09:46:09 PM
I 100% agree about the stablecoins and that is true that it is a commodity but ethereum too? That one does not make sense. Anyone who knows about bitcoin would know that it is not even remotely close to being similar.

Stablecoins and ethereum are two very different things and if you want to put them into the same box, that would be a wrong thing, I highly suggest not doing something like that at all, I would say they are not even in the same discussion. It would be better if CFTC chair could take a look at it again and see the differences, that would be a lot better and that way they would end up with something much better when the time comes.
