1521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NYAG declares ETH as a Security on: March 14, 2023, 07:12:10 PM
I think the start could be a security, but right now it is not a security. How could I put this more delicately, at the start gold coins were a security because everyone had gold, but only some people could turn gold into gold coins, which means gold was a security, but overtime it became not a security right?

It wasn't owned by anyone, it was owned by everyone equally if they paid. Same logic, sure ETH had an ICO (pow or pos shouldn't matter) but right now there is no central figure that could make it go up and down, or freeze it, or take it back or whatever. It is all ours and we decide it collectively as people which should mean it is not a security.
1522  Other / Off-topic / Re: Revolutionizing Artificial Intelligence: GPT-4 with 100 Trillion Parameters on: March 14, 2023, 06:44:49 PM
I searched about this a bit further and all I can find was "promises", that's it. I mean Microsoft is saying there will be a lot of crazy stuff, including literally making videos, just like how midjourney type of stuff make images from your words, this would make freaking videos, so it's definitely an improvement and there is absolutely no doubt about that, imagine what that type of power could do while just chatting.

However, we need to remember that these are just promises, we haven't really seen it do anything yet, it is just talk and we need it to be released first in order to make sure that we could actually see if it can do what they promised.
1523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to better promote our project effectively ? on: March 14, 2023, 05:53:03 PM
Honestly it is futile to try to promote projects during this period, because it won't be hyped at all, hype is all the new projects have and will ever have. If you can hype carefully then you could make a good profit with your project but that requires the bull run. So wait for bitcoin to be 30k+ at least, better if you wait for it to break the ATH price range, and then you can make a lot of profit.

Rest is simple, find legit marketing people, people with proven track record and they will spend your money to make more money, mostly fail during this period because they hire terrible people, so you need to make sure that you hire the right person which will be the hardest part.
1524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: March 14, 2023, 05:19:24 PM
Good thing about crypto is that everyone is free to choice whatever they want to invest into, and that's the greatness about it. I could invest into bitcoin if I want to, and I could invest into some obscure unknown small token with market cap of 20k dollars which I can move myself with just a few thousand dollars investment.

However, whenever I make a mistake, then all the blame is for me, even if the investment I made turns out to be a rug pull and they scam me? I wouldn't blame them, I would blame myself for investing into a scam. This is the same logic, XRP is obvious with its shortcomings and troubles, if you still want to take the risk, then either you make a profit, or you shouldn't blame anyone for your losses.
1525  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 13, 2023, 09:58:53 PM
This has been asked multiple times before and I keep saying that it is as normal as it gets to start whenever you can. It has been established that bitcoin has cycles, if you start buying at the very top then yes you are very late to the part and should have bought when it was lower, but right now it is on the low end of the cycle and you could buy right now and sell it later on as well which would not be an issue at all.

I do not know why people end up having doubts about this, because it is obvious that we are not going to end up with any issues at all, we will be basically doing as well as hoped if you buy right now and hold it until the cycle goes to the top.
1526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: March 13, 2023, 09:18:10 PM
These type of games shows that even while some teams are much better than others, the league is actually quite close to each other in an individual game basis. We have seen teams like Galatasaray for example, who hasn't lost in so long, end up barely winning, but then you look at the big picture and they look so majestic, same goes for Besiktas, they look like an amazing team and easy to bet on for them to win, but when you look at the individual game it looks barely won.

It's a different feeling than most other big leagues, there I know that the team I wager will dominate, and if they lose that is a shock to everyone, here in this league it looks like anyone could lose at any moment.
1527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we get the fed pivot right now? on: March 13, 2023, 06:58:09 PM
I am not entirely sure about this. I mean they "should", but just because they should doesn't mean that they will. The point is that during inflation if they increased the rates that would help, but the inflation is already calming down and banks are not making that much profit anymore, and the stocks are down as well, so they are even losing money right now, the same banks are also faced with this much payments that they need to make at the same time.

This all is a result that we are talking about something that will hurt us all in the long run. There is absolutely no other way that they could fix this, they need to pivot no matter what, lets hope that they do.
1528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 12, 2023, 09:18:59 PM
Real winning this game wasn't really a question, it was obvious from the start that they would be like this and it would be a great failure to lose this game in the end. It was obvious from the start of the week that both real and Barcelona would win, these are easily games and I do not see how they could lose.

At the end of the day, there could be some weeks where nothing really happens, it's just a rollover to another week and we are going to be forced to watch what happens. I believe that most weeks are like that, look at how many games both teams won, most of them were on the same week even though some of them were at different weeks, which means we get to see both teams win quite frequently.
1529  Economy / Economics / Re: If they have the solution, why are banks still failing? on: March 12, 2023, 08:31:02 PM
First of all silicon valley bank was not one of the biggest banks in the world, definitely not biggest in the nation neither, there are ones with trillions of dollars in it. Secondly, this is basically because they were forced to pay more and that did not existed in forms of profit so they were losing money left and right.

If you tell a bank with 1 trillion dollars in it, to give 5% to the customers, that means 50 billion dollars, if they can't make that profit and make only 30 billion in revenue, then they just effectively lost 20 billion dollars, consider the operational cost of running that bank must be at least another 10-20 billion and you have yourself a bankrupted one.
1530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happening with USDC? on: March 12, 2023, 06:23:59 PM
I do not know how much this silvergate issue really hurt USDC or not. I understand that circle lost some huge amounts there, and that is why it's down right now, but does it really mean that they had no reserves at all? Maybe they still have enough for 1 to 1 ratio and this was just excess amount they had?

I really do not know, but if it is true that they lost peoples money in this bankruptcy then we are all in trouble with all the other coins as well. They might as well be gone too, USDT or anything else too, because even if they didn't had money in silvergate, they have it somewhere else and it could be gone just like this one day and we would be in trouble.
1531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value till 2033? on: March 12, 2023, 04:55:23 PM
So we are talking about 3 more halving until 2033, correct? Considering how it did, I would guess that more correct approach would be at least 10x increase after the halving, which we did a lot more but assume it will drop due to price and higher marketcap. So at the bottom it was 16k, 10x of that would be 160k. It drops about 80% after each ATH which means it should be somewhere around 32k or so when that happens.

Next up it would be 320k and it would go down to about 64k, and then it would be 640k and would drop to 128k. That is what it looks like if you ask me, and there could of course be some changes, this is just a rounded up estimation that I have for 2033.
1532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Rules of trading and following to others read plz on: March 11, 2023, 09:35:18 PM
People who think that there are rules, and people who know the difference between rules and what to look for, are the most different type of people as it gets. There are no rules, there are things that you need to be careful about, like for example don't chase your losses, or do not trade if you do not know what the wall is and what the support or resistance is, you have to be careful about somethings when you are trading and that is the most important thing that we could be careful about.

I personally trade with no "rules", I look out for things that could be dangerous when trading and if any of them ever pops up, I go around it and be aware of anything that could go wrong.
1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project according to you is solving real world issues? on: March 11, 2023, 12:54:45 PM
None of them? I mean bitcoin itself solves a very important real world problem; centralization of money.

Aside from that these type of small projects that have absolutely no value at all, will not get you anywhere close to being solving any issues. They will "claim" that they are solving some real life problems, but the problems are not that much of big ones, and the solutions are not that much of a great solution and the people who face those problems will not use these solutions so that means we are not going to see anything big at all.

I understand the need and the hype around projects and they can blind you with these buzzwords, but it is just not real, simple as that.
1534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 10, 2023, 09:01:29 PM
Brooks acting as if he is a thug, Morant acting as if he is a thug, and then Adams missing so much of the season, probably all of it. It looks like Memphis will not be doing as well as people hoped that they would, I know that there is a situation where they are going to get some of them back if they are looking alright, but if punishments come quickly and they all get in trouble, that won't be easy.

Brooks may get away with it, it was nothing, but Adams is definitely gone, and I would be shocked if Morant gets anything other than sitting down this year. Warriors on the other hand could still end up winning if they play well in playoffs, they have the roster for it.
1535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the future of bitcoin without powerful nations? on: March 10, 2023, 08:09:29 PM
There will always be powerful nations that will support it. If for nothing else, just one big nation disliking it would be enough for the other power to take it up just to spite the other one. Lets assume USA says bitcoin is terrible, Russia and China will say it's awesome, if they say it's terrible, USA will say it's awesome.

Basically there will always be powerful nations that hate each other, the most powerful nation in the world position is always up for grabs and everyone tries to get it, and that is why I have to say that it is not going to be simple for everyone to hate it at the same time, there will be at least one of them that will accept and like it.
1536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Crypto VCs of 2023 on: March 10, 2023, 06:58:03 PM
I have worked with multiple VC's in my crypto life, both worked as a customer and also worked as an employee at the same time. I can guarantee you that they are not looking at what makes you the most money, they look at what makes them the most money. If that aligns and them making profit means you making profit, they will do their best to pick the best one, they could of course be wrong, they are humans after all, but they would be legit in that case and work hard to make you money since that means money in their pockets too.

However, if there is a method where they could make a profit while you do not make a profit, they would take that too, hence why I stay away from all VC's as much as I can.
1537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 10, 2023, 06:02:05 PM
I get that Lazio was a difficult game for Napoli and they lost a game that they should have won and that is understandable, but that doesn't change the fact that we are talking about a situation where it will always stay like that, we are going to see a situation where they are going to change it soon. That was just one game and one game only, we won't be seeing that at all times, it will not be like that at all.

I believe that we are going to see Napoli win this game and Atalanta is not a bad team neither, started much better of course, but they are still a good team and Napoli should still have no issues winning this one at all, they should be fine.
1538  Economy / Economics / Re: Ripple CEO Says Crypto Industry Has to Rebuild Trust on: March 10, 2023, 05:08:48 PM
Lol, he said that? First of all, Ripple has to rebuild some trust. Secondly crypto is crypto, all the things that happened were in the crypto industry but not anything with crypto itself. When luna crashed, that was an issue about luna, not crypto in general, when ftx bankrupted, that was related to ftx and not crypto itself, when anything like that happens, it is always about some company or some developers but not crypto in general.

So if you ask me, bitcoin has no trust to rebuild, it is trusted more than any other currency or investment asset in my mind, and I am sure there are millions of people in the world who agree with me on this as well.
1539  Economy / Economics / Re: Thailand Challenges for a Piece of the Crypto Pie By Waiving Taxes on: March 09, 2023, 08:52:19 PM
I think that's not too bad, it allows crypto to be more legal, and it gets taxed in the end, that's pretty good actually. I know that not many people like it when you have to pay taxes, definitely hate it when you have to pay a lot of taxes with nothing in return to show for, because governments just spend it on corruption and operational costs and doesn't give the public anything back.

However, at the end of the day making it legal and taxed means that Thailand is basically a pro-crypto nation and knowing that worths all the tax in the world. My nation is quite similar in that aspect, they tax it, not a lot but they still do, and that makes it legal, because if you were taxed, then it wasn't illegal.
1540  Economy / Economics / Re: War: who benefits and how! on: March 09, 2023, 07:14:03 PM
Obviously at least one politician. This isn't the only war in the world and in Russia vs Ukraine, it was Putin that "won", even if the war could be lost or won, which I do not know what the latest situation is but I am at least entirely certain that it wasn't as easy as Putin wanted it to be, and much harder than the 2014 version.

I still think that he won in the sense that he is keeping the full power to himself and we could all joke about "double shot to head suicide" as we all want, he is going to rule that nation until he dies thanks to moves like this and there is nothing the world could ever do. Hell, in a sense he won against Ukraine's president too, doubt that guy could get elected, even after all he did for his nation.
