Economy / Economics / Re: Kraken Exchange Unveils Plan To Launch Bank Amid Regulatory Crackdown
|
on: March 09, 2023, 05:42:26 PM

Honestly, if they can do this, it would be a lot harder on regulations for sure. Banks are strict and they can't do much and they are forced to follow so many rules and laws and that means they are going to be basically stuck into this banking regulations so much that crypto may become a second hand business for them, and not their priority.
If they could somehow manage to do this and also get the attention of everyone at the same time without any worry at all, then I am not entirely sure if it will be anything bad at all, then it may end up being something much better and should be fine in the long run, can't say it wouldn't be really bad for crypto if they can achieve it.

When one thing gets screwed once in the crypto world, and causes trouble for everyone, that never gets back up ever again. Look at the history of crypto and you will see that people will never reinvest in big amounts to something that screwed the market once before.
Look at Luna as the nearest thing, they created LUNC, how much investment did that got? Of course nearly nothing, why? Because people got burned once from it, and they decided never to follow that ever again because of this. I believe that the same will happen over and over again. This tornado situation will be exactly the same, they can do whatever they want, but people will avoid it in the end.

I did not expect Chelsea to win at all, not even remotely close. I always suspected that they were doing pretty bad, and they would continue to do bad and they would lose this one too, plus Dortmund was doing so great, and I expected them to keep doing better in the long run as well, which did not happen and I guess that is going to keep happening for sure.
It's fine though, I am not saying that we shouldn't really expected teams like Chelsea to lose, and I learned my lesson here, I am not going to end up betting based on just momentum, I am going to bet on the rosters as well, that was my mistake. I didn't wager too much at least, so I didn't lose too much.

|
on: March 07, 2023, 08:35:11 PM

None whatsoever. People who go into XRP have no idea how the background of it works, if they knew exactly how it works then they would not invest into it at all, and if somehow they do know about it and STILL invest, then they are terrible investors.
People all around the world and all around online media warned everyone that it's not really a coin or a token, it's basically a way that one company moves money from one place to another and nothing more, and it makes the company richer, not you. If you still want to invest after knowing what type of shady thing it is used for, then I am sorry but you have absolutely no way of making money in the crypto world with that gullible approach.

Blur went down just way too much man. I would have understand if it was like 5-15 dollar range, that is a reasonable range and it would have been fine, but from 46 dollars to 0.8 cents? That's just way too much man, this is a project that went down 99%, how could I ever trust a project that went down 99% and got back up again? It would be pretty impossible for it to recover faster than others.
My calculation is this, if I invest into something, how much return would it give me, and what is the potential that it has? I could easily say that Blur was something people gave up, proven by the price it is right now, so it doesn't have that much potential in my eyes.

It has always been said that any project could make you money, as long as it is legit and does everything right. I think it's a lot easier if you just named the project, if you say that it is defi or just stablecoin return or anything like that, it wouldn't mean anything to us, and everyone would just make a guess.
But, if you name the project, it could be checked closer and people could make a lot better calculations of how serious it is or how terrible it is and that would be a lot better review of whatever the result could be. Even in that case we could be wrong, we could say it's good and you may lose money, or say it's bad and it goes up, it's never certain what coins will do.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC would rise again?
|
on: March 07, 2023, 02:35:16 AM
|
It will always rise in the end, there is no way that bitcoin would ever stay under 25k, or even under the ATH price as well. We are going to end up seeing the price go over the ATH price once again when the time comes, it is not going to be easy and right now, but it will happen eventually.
We just need to make sure that it is as quick as possible and not years later. Obviously most people think that it will pass the ATH price during 2025, mainly because halving is in 2024 and it takes about a year or so for it to reach above ATH after the halving. But I think it could be quicker than that, maybe this year or next year at most, which would be lovely considering how much higher it could get then.

Mine was just simplicity of getting paid for my work and nothing more. I have been involved with online world since my early age, even before all these wifi tech and all, during 90's, I was still in the online world and that of course wasn't profitable back then, not for me at least. I kept growing and getting better at my craft, and eventually when crypto happened and bitcoin was invented, I started to make money from it because people from all around the world hired me.
Now I have been working at my current job for many years, and it is possible thanks to bitcoin, nothing more. It's great as investment, but I fell in love with it due to ease of payment.

|
on: March 06, 2023, 08:39:04 PM

Never ever trust other gamblers when you are betting mate, not their words, look at what people bet on average and that is a lot better result. There are plenty of websites that show how much one side was betted, you can see in some cases like one side gets 90% of all the bets, and that is not even just amount of people, that is amount of money on that bet. That means we could definitely end up betting on that, and have a high chance of winning, and even if we don't then majority of people lost with us as well.
People can talk about any side, but they will only bet on what they believe will win and that is an important part of gambling, actually putting up money.

|
on: March 06, 2023, 08:25:10 PM

Europa and Premier league are very different things, just because United lost there doesn't mean that they will lose here neither. Look at Real Madrid and UCL, they beat Liverpool 5-2 and then following week they ended up failing to beat Betis, does that make sense to you?
Sometimes league is very difficult because you play so many games that unexpected results end up happening no matter what. By logic, even if we say Real is second best team, they would only lose 2 games and win all the rest? Not possible, hence these type of games happen, but Europa or UCL or even the conference league, based on elimination, so teams play their best whenever they can.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else agree that mtgox payout is keeping bitcoin down?
|
on: March 06, 2023, 07:22:20 PM
|
Disagree. Mt.Gox payment is nothing compared to the market, it is people that keep the bitcoin price down and it will always be people who keep it down. There is no scenario where something as small as this payout could ever keep bitcoin down, there will be a lot of people who think like that, and they will suspect this to be bigger than what it is today, but the reality is that bitcoin is much larger and it can't be kept down by something so insignificant.
I believe that people are just not that much into it at this moment and they can't see it growing just yet and that is why they are not buying right now and that is the main reason why it is not growing at this moment.

Bankruptcy is not really a "bad" thing, I mean as in it is not a shady thing that people do to screw others over. They are not stealing anyone's money, they were a bank and they managed the bank badly and now they are bankrupting, given the chance they wouldn't want to do this neither but they had to and this is the result.
All in all I am guessing that there is a chance we could end up with a bad result when the time comes, and that would not be an easy thing to handle neither, because it will cause a lot of exchanges to hurt a lot by losing all that money as well, this is the world we live in, it is always risky and we need to learn to live with it.

This doesn't really require any type of advice or suggestion to make people realize it, right? Like this is literally common sense? I know this because I have grown up knowing this fact but maybe it depends on how you grew up, people who didn't grow up rich knows that when you live in poverty, anything that is bad sets you back months and months, and you can't recover from it.
My father never really had a car for a long time, he had some cars here and there when things looked good, and always had to sell them to pay debt eventually, and did it just recently at the age of 62 as well, he still pays debt. So when you are in poverty, you know this as common sense, it is not really a shocking revelation to me.

|
on: March 06, 2023, 04:06:24 PM

It is not going to be easy to get governments accept that bitcoin mining is a profitable thing not just for the miner but for the nation as well. Iceland would have a lot of profit from the taxes they can charge to miners, but also all the money that miners would pay to electricity companies, and even the people who work in these mining factories will be Icelanders who would spend it back into the country, and ALL of that money would come from bitcoin, which would be their best ideal situation.
How could that be something bad for the nation? It will be something that benefit the whole nation at the same time and should be supported for sure.

People are defending a striker as "not needing to score every match" is funny. I get it, this dude was seen as the best player ever up until last season, even at his age, he had hattrick in the premier league literally just last season around this time, only one year has passed and they just can't accept the fact that, Ronaldo ain't the big news he used to be.
This dude missed a wide open empty shot, he missed freekicks terribly, he missed in front of the goal with only gk to stop it, he missed so many chances to score in just one game and then his teammates had to bail him out at 90th+ minute in order to secure the win. I am sorry but if you are getting paid world record money as a striker, you DO need to score, otherwise that is a bad game, simple as that.

I would guess that after such a tiring and long season last year, Real may not be playing as well as they hoped for only because they have a huge fatigue, between copa del rey, la liga, and winning UCL as well, they played insane amount of games and not like their players are all young, sure there are some young players, but they have pretty old players like Benzema, Modric, Kroos and such, which means that their best players last year, are all older and more tired right now.
Yeah, they are professional players who are at the top of their shape but there is a reason why we do not see any 50 year old's playing, the body ages, and maybe it was time for Real players to start feeling their aging too.

This type of thing happened plenty of times before, it happened in my nation as well. There was a scammer who was selling securities based on bitcoin, like you wouldn't be actually buying bitcoin, you would be buying what they claim worths one bitcoin, so technically speaking you would pay them a bitcoin worths money and they promise that if the price of bitcoin goes up, you can still cash out.
Obviously that was a ponzi, and that ended up being something quite terrible at the same time because people lost nearly 80 million dollars to that guy. These type of things happens all around the world and unfortunately not that uncommon for many people to fall for it.

I think having a good economy could be done by selling stuff to other nations, that is the biggest and most important thing for any nation. Look at USA, they end up selling so many stuff, because they are rich with not just resources, which they do have, but they are rich with companies who sell a ton of stuff to the world.
Look at biggest companies by marketcap it is apple, google, Microsoft, Amazon, hell even Berkshire Hathaway, tesla, NVidia, Exxon, Facebook. All of these are American, and yes there are a few Saudi oil company or TenCent or something like that here and there, but overall USA has the biggest advantage, and that is why it is pretty important to sell stuff to the world, take money from them, and bring it inside your nation.

I think it's both investable and not investable at the same time. It is looking good because there are so many projects listed right now for that, and it is really looking like growing at exponential rate and doing very well, but at the same time it is looking like there is something that would be reasonable to avoid if you look at all the times it got stuck as well.
I wouldn't be able to say invest into it because it's great, but I wouldn't be able to really say sell it all and run away neither, it's in between both things. We have seen things grow even from these type of problems, and we have seen them get stuck and eventually drop after these troubles too.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why all these crypto-twitter "influencers" are still exist?
|

Because there are people who are fool enough to fall for them? That is the only reason, there are still a ton of people who check these influencers and base their investments after their suggestions and they basically make them famous.
You do not have to pay an influencer to give you good deals neither, you just have to follow them, and if enough people follow them, then we are going to end up seeing a good amount of offers thrown at them by projects. I have talked with plenty, they charge anything between 400 dollars to 2000 dollars, of course there are bigger ones as well but that is what I learned, and they had like 20-25 tweets like that, which means they made anywhere between 8k to 40k that month, insane amount of money to make.
