1641  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why I will never trust top exchanges on: February 10, 2023, 09:15:03 PM
People can trust or not trust whoever or whatever they want, there isn't anything that we could do about it. I personally believe that there are some exchanges I am happy with and that is fine by me, but if you could buy a ledger, or at least have enough money to worth buying a ledger then in that case it would be a lot better of course.

At the end of the day, you will have to transfer them to an exchange and it is better to do that to big exchanges, that way you would be able trade with people who trust that exchange the most. Aside from those trading periods, you could always deposit and withdraw from them and into your ledger which would make sure that they are always safe.
1642  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanctions at work:Russia posts its second highest deficit in the post-Soviet era on: February 10, 2023, 08:54:21 PM
I do not understand why people are mad at western nations for not wanting to trade with Russia? I mean I get that you think it is unfair, but the reality is that if one nation doesn't want to trade with another, how do you think it is fair to force them into trading with each other?

Let's assume USA for a second, if USA doesn't want to trade with Russia, telling USA that they HAVE TO trade, is that fair? Every nation should make their own decisions and their own laws and if they do not want to, then it's their own business. In this situation, Russia needs to either accept that what they do will get them sanctions and continue (which is what they are doing) or just change and try to avoid that.
1643  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to buy bitcoin. on: February 10, 2023, 08:40:42 PM
I think if they really know what they are doing, most traders would be quite happy right now. Why? Because it was lower, and then went higher and it's lower again, that type of volatility is something traders could make a profit from, if you are a great trader then you made a lot of money during this past month, but it is okay if you failed to do that as well.

I am not saying that everyone made money during this period, some of them failed and that is not a bad situation because sometimes volatility hurts some people as well. As long as you are still capable of making a profit in the future and not done yet, then no loss is too big to recover from, you can always try again.
1644  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ChatGPT and Trading on: February 10, 2023, 08:18:03 PM
I agree that it is overused right now and people are overhyping it too much. However, that happens with everything, look at cyberpunks NFT, people spent hundreds of millions of dollars on those stupid pixelated images as well, why? Because it was hyped like crazy, people also spent millions on doge and shiba, things there were created for fun, and imagined they would get richer.

So all in all, AI could be overused right now but it is at least something good, and it will go away eventually, we are facing it too much right now but the media attention and the social media craze will calm down and when that happens we are going to be doing a lot better.
1645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: February 10, 2023, 07:29:03 PM
I don't think we should be mad at a team for making a transfer, these things do not happen overnight and that means they were in talks and nearly done by the time this happened anyway, which means that they would have to actually stop something right before it is official, which makes no sense.

And about the money, if they are really paying just 3 million a year, that's not a lot, teams in Turkey spend more than that all the time, shouldn't be an issue at all, 3 million a year is something they can make just from participating UCL or europa. Player would be getting very little this year, and getting like less than 3 million himself each year after that. They paid more for Falcao, it's really not a bad deal. I am sure Turkey must have some financial crisis now that disaster happened, I don't know their current economy, but 6 million for a young superstar sounds cheap right?
1646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: February 10, 2023, 06:48:03 PM
AlphaTauri is not at a place where they are looking to really be competitive at all. They do have a "decent" car, not a last place level car if you ask me, and that should stay this year as well. But they have 2 drivers who are not experienced, Nick is a freshman and Tsunoda hasn't been around for that long neither.

It means that they didn't pay much to them, and they are spending that money on building the future car and research. Many teams will eventually do that, 2026 will be a big season with a ton of changes, so I wouldn't be shocked if teams outside of top three would start using their funds to have a better car in 2026 and forget these next 3 seasons.
1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching children Bitcoin is not in vain on: February 10, 2023, 06:23:54 PM
We do not even teach finance to children, let alone start teaching about bitcoin. There are kids who start to use phones as little as 2 years old, they use it to watch cartoons of course but tech is in their hands, those kids 20 years later will be much better at tech than the previous generation on average, of course not the coders and developers of previous generation, but when you calculate the average they will be better at it.

These kids learning about bitcoin at an early age will give them a huge benefit. However, we do not teach kids even finance and that means we are letting them down, they learn about money way too late in life and by then it is usually too late.
1648  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 10, 2023, 05:30:04 PM
The idea of untouchable savings do not make too much sense to me, if it is untouchable by that logic it should also be not helpful at all. If you are not going to cash that out, will you basically die before you touch it? Will you leave it to your kids? If so, it will never have any impact on your life at all, makes no sense to me.

I personally believe that you should see every savings touchable so that it could have an impact on your life, selling and getting out before it reaches to that impact is a mistake and you shouldn't touch it until that point, but after it becomes big enough or it is a moment in your life that matters enough that you could sell and have an impact? Then you should sell.
1649  Economy / Economics / Re: Dubai is good example to other countries on: February 10, 2023, 04:35:50 PM
First of all Dubai is a city, not a nation, so it could only be a good example to those who would be building emirates, or state nations basically, because Dubai basically has its own set of rules. Secondly, the thing that makes Dubai so rich is not the fact that it has no taxes, it is the fact that they were rich before, and spent all that money to make it look better.

If you are a nation that has a ton of money to turn a city into something like that, you are already doing fine. Basically the starting point of Dubai was being wealthy, and not many can say the same thing, key to being like that passes through tourism and wealth, and that's a hard combination.
1650  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 10, 2023, 03:05:21 PM
It doesn't matter if you think it will happen this year or not, it matters if you trust it enough to consider it a possibility. It is near 20k levels right now, which means a x4 increase, if enough people think that there is a possibility of bitcoin reaching x4 higher in a single year, that means bitcoin must be doing something right. You think your house will x4 in a single year? Gold? Oil? Stocks like apple or google or tesla?

We believe none of  them will be x4 in a single year, we KNOW they won't, whereas we are unsure about bitcoin. It may not reach there at all, but that part doesn't really matter because even if it's possible, that's good enough reason for me to buy it.
1651  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Heading Back To $23,000? on: February 10, 2023, 02:40:22 PM
When this topic started, the question was "will it DROP to 23k" now we are aiming at going back to 23k. I think it is clear that sometimes things do not happen the way you want them to happen and we lose so much money because of it. I believe that things may not look to bright as of right now, but there is a good chance that it could go back to being better again in the future.

I think it is quite important to not lose hope and do not give up. If you lose hope and sell then you will regret it when the price starts to go back up again, worst case scenario you would hold your coins longer than you would like to, but it will go back up in the future and you will profit.
1652  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin go back to 19000 on: February 10, 2023, 12:09:20 PM
With how things are looking, I wouldn't be too shocked to see that happening sometime soon. But that is alright, sometimes the market is like a bow, if you want to throw it further, you need to draw it back as much as you can. We need to get rid of the people who sold their coins in order to keep on moving higher with people who hold and buy coins.

It would definitely be something that is a bit of time taking and not something quick but I believe that is a very important part of investment world, waiting. If you can wait out all these sellers, then what's left will be buyers, so we just need some time and patience to keep going upwards again after this drop.
1653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: February 09, 2023, 09:44:22 PM
My side question to this would also be: Which type of stablecoin do You find the most credible in the Crypto space?
I think that there's no stable coin that has become the most stable coin. Any of them have disavantages for the holders. The only stable tokens that fully regulated look more credible for me. In my opinion if stable tokens must be issued based on the regulation framework to make sure it will not have any risk. People feel doubt with USD but millions of people are still using it. I think that as long as there are millions keep usiing and i have no prblem with it
I think regulation for a stablecoin will always be an issue, the main reason for that is the fact that it is pegged to dollar most of the time, and that means you are creating a "fake" dollar, and that will not be seen as a good thing by the government ever, it would be pretty near impossible for US government to make it regulated and accepted for example, maybe some smaller nations could but that would still be tough with the fear of sanctions.

All in all, I would say that this is a tough question and I do not trust USDT to start with, but I can't say that I trust any of the other stablecoins neither, they are all too risky in my opinion.
1654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 09, 2023, 09:30:03 PM
I understand that Dortmund prefers to get players who are a bit young and than use those players and show them to the world and make money from that, which is understandable. However, they only have Jude like that, and after he is gone, who do they have that could play for 2-3 years there and could be sold for 50+ million euros?

I do not think that many people are left, right now there are no players who worth more than 35 million euros aside from Jude, and that's a problem. They could make money right now but that doesn't mean that it will go on for too long, so they need to figure a way to find more young players to shine in the future, and this summer should go towards that aim.
1655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Favourite MEME COINS? on: February 09, 2023, 09:19:21 PM
It is obvious that all of the meme tokens are terrible and you shouldn't invest in any of them. I am not saying that it is going to be simple to avoid all of them at all times, you will see them and people will promote them to you all the time but that doesn't change the fact that they are terrible. Even on this topic there are some who do promote, and there will be more coming who will promote their shitty meme tokens but you should avoid that.

Meme tokens are there for one reason; to make the devs richer and investors poorer, that's it nothing more. Other than this, honestly I am not seeing any economic problem is being solved by these memecoins. Such new traps are still surviving on this crypto space by luring naive investors but I am sure not for few more years.
1656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: February 09, 2023, 08:43:32 PM
While I believe that it is good to have alternatives, I think google is doing a good job and I have never heard of anyone who got their 2fa hacked, you can get hacked in any different type of ways, but not with your 2fa being hacked, that doesn't really happen that easily.

However, between mails, passwords, 2fa and so forth, it's really hard to crack into someone, and when you want to withdraw, they need to hack into your email as well as your 2fa at the same time, that is how binance does it. But if you want to make sure, Ledger is the way to go because they really do a good job preventing any hacks, even when your ledger gets stolen, it's near impossible to hack into it.
1657  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Keep your head up. on: February 09, 2023, 08:14:31 PM
This is very important, we should remember that whatever took us that high, may have gone down but it's still there, and we can do it again. I had multiple times in my life when I got richer than usual, then had to spend that money, cash everything out, pay for some stuff and all. Then in return I ended up with a situation where I grew back again and then again and again, which is how you should approach these things and you would be a lot better.

I personally do not feel any dread, because even if I hit zero today, I know my way back to the top, if you can reach there just once, you will learn the path and you won't give that up and you will grind to get back there.
1658  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: February 09, 2023, 07:26:34 PM
Well, you could always have a stop loss, that way you would be selling whenever it drops and you would get out before the bear hits a low. I do not support doing that right now, it just doesn't make any sense at all, but if you could do that then you should, it would give you a chance to avoid going low in your funds.

I personally will hold, I am a long term holder and that's what I like to do, but that doesn't mean that I would be going against people who uses stop loss. If you could do like 10% lower from your purchasing power, then you would be able to get out with just 10% loss and recover from there if you can, it is a sound strategy that many people use.
1659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 09, 2023, 05:05:23 PM
I think once or twice? I mean not a lot that's for sure. It was very very early on my first times gambling where I learned how you could lose a lot and lose very quickly, it was a dark period for me and it was definitely not nice and it ended up hurting me financially, but that was like first month or two. After that I stopped, but then I hate when something beats me, not just in the sense that I lost money, but psychologically, I didn't want to become a person who "had to stop because of addiction", and decided to both gamble and also have it under control at the same time.

Just to show myself that I had the will power to gamble with a limit and not go over it, which I succeeded and never lost much ever again. I also stopped once more for no reason, I had life stuff I had to take care of so couldn't play for months, not because I didn't want to or anything but I just had zero free time to gamble.
1660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 08, 2023, 09:00:32 PM
It was definitely a great moment, chills about the halo of Kobe in that picture, still hurts to this day but lets celebrate the greatness that is Lebron James today. This guy has been scoring for 20 years and he still hasn't slowed down, and yeah the league is much faster these days and that plays a role in this but still, at 38 years old? Still breaking records?

This guy has been the exceptional example of how consistency could make you a king, and he just became the scoring king of all NBA history. All the congregations goes to him, and he definitely deserves all the praises he gets, with all the ups and downs of him, and his career, I have to say it's definitely a great situation.
