1681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: February 01, 2023, 08:41:54 PM
I am not entirely sure about the lonely part considering I am not lonely. But, I can guarantee you that not being lonely doesn't mean you stay away from gambling. I have met many people who are married and still addicted to gambling, it is not something that could get you stay away from it, it is something that would get you some help, there will be someone in your life trying to help you get away from it.

However, it is not that easy, it requires a strong will to realize the problem and stay away from it. If you are both addicted and gambling? In that case there is very little hope that you would stop, there are people who lost all they own to gambling that way.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest in bitcoin for my child's cost when they grow up. on: February 01, 2023, 08:28:05 PM
This is what I am doing basically and I am doing it for even further down the line. I want my future child to have the option to do whatever they want in life. Doesn't mean that they should do something illegal, lol. But more like, most people who do not go into arts, do not go in because they want to make sure they can make money first. As someone who is in art world, I can tell you that it is not that difficult to make money, you can do whatever you want and make money as long as you look where the money is.

It won't be exactly what you want, but it will be the job you want. I want to make sure my kid knows this, and after they graduate college or whatever they go to, I want to give them a good small income that would guarantee a life of ease, and that will make sure they won't have to work for money. If they just want to sit at home and watch movies and drink beer all day, they can do that too, that's still a life worth living I believe, but if they ever want to do something, they won't have to worry about income.
1683  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: February 01, 2023, 07:02:23 PM
Depends on the idea behind it. I mean if you really think that it will drop, then it is not FUD but saying the facts you think will happen. Of course nobody really knows what is going to happen, but that is the thing we are doing right now and I think it will definitely work in the end. What I want to see however is the fact that we are not going to end up with that much drops, but we will do fine, which means all these FUDs do not matter to me and just plain wrong.

If I can think like that, then why not others? That means it can't be unethical because if you see FUD and you believe them, that is on you and not the person who does the FUD, your responsibility is to think for yourself.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Greedy Machine NFT on: February 01, 2023, 05:03:35 PM
I think it is mainly because people hype about things for a while, and whatever that is, it doesn't matter what we are talking about, people just get hyped about things and when it happens they just end up with nothing at all eventually and lose that hype and they just start to sell it and get out and find the next hype.

In this situation that thing is NFT and I believe that people were too much involved in it, and it was pretty social media heavy and people talked about it and shared reels of them, and did tiktoks and so forth. It was so much hyped that even south park had 2 part movie where they mocked it. Now it is not as hyped and it's pretty much boring.
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 01, 2023, 03:28:21 PM
I agree that Palace will be a tough game for United, but they have seen how they played and how they defended so it should be easier than the last game at least. Not saying it will be "easy" game, I just meant easier than the other day when they faced each other. That's going to be something quite important and a big difference because at the end of the day it's United, and they are a good team and they should be able to play well enough to win.

This is going to be a tough spot to be in and I know that many people are expecting something bigger from them but that doesn't mean that it is going to happen, that would be something good if they win, but if they fail to do it, it's fine.
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 31, 2023, 08:19:19 PM
I would guess that if PSG wasn't this good, the league would not be even at fifth position right now. Imagine it, if PSG was as good as Lyon or Lille or something like that, and every other team is the same exact level, would this league be any good? I would say they would be pretty lower level, they would be at the levels of Portugal or Dutch leagues basically, not talked about with the big leagues.

Now, thanks to PSG they have a team that could potentially win the UCL, not saying they will, but that's what they are aiming at at least. This is why it's not that much fun to watch the league when PSG wins nor when they lose, it's both quite boring to see in the end.
1687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 31, 2023, 07:03:20 PM
I mean magic is an under 40% win rate team, I am not saying that they are not going to win any games, it is obvious that they won nearly 40% of their games so it's definitely possible for them to win and I am not arguing against that.

But the fact is that we are talking about a team that is third from bottom in the eastern conference, we are not talking about a good team here and them losing is common too. Sure, you could give it a go and bet on them and you will win roughly around 40% of those bets so if you arrange it accordingly maybe you will get a profit, I know I do that with Lakers, but at the end of the day they are not "secretly good" or something like that, if they were, they wouldn't be at the bottom.
1688  Economy / Economics / Re: How worried should americans be if the debt ceiling isn’t lifted? on: January 31, 2023, 06:40:39 PM
It will be, it always does. The fact that state officials and workers do not get paid, means that they won't work, and they will go on strikes eventually to get paid. Last time it happened, it caused enough chaos that both parties ended up working towards a common ground to make sure everyone got paid, because if you don't do that, that's millions of votes you can forget about.

I know it's a dangerous thing that it looks like scary to some, and I know it "may" take a few weeks to resolve, and yes that would be bad, I remember the last time was a few months I think, people missed checks for months, and that was a sad situation. But it got resolved, and that will happen again.
1689  Economy / Economics / Re: Don’t Fall Prey to these Market Sentiments and Save your Bitcoin on: January 31, 2023, 04:36:32 PM
The hold part is a bit harder, the other three I can agree on. The hold part is harder because at the end of the day we are talking about something that would be hard to achieve, maybe it will drop right after you sell and you will be doing great job, or maybe it won't drop and keep going up and you will miss so much profit chance. That is why I highly suggest that you end up with something that is a lot better if you keep working towards holding.

If you hold, even when it is dropping, you could do DCA and recover that, there is an option to do that at least. But if you don't hold and it goes up, there is no way you could recoup that loss so it's gone. I would say keep holding even until it's too late is better.
1690  Economy / Economics / Re: White House Blames Congress for Failure to Enact Crypto Regulations on: January 31, 2023, 03:33:42 PM
Honestly, this isn't really something that is "urgent". We have some understanding in place anyway, and I believe that Americans are doing pretty nice with that. I am not American myself so I can't speak 100% clearly about the subject, but between millions of dollars they have invested, even the richest people promoting it, and then some big companies in crypto world end up in nasdaq?

I would say that's pretty much nails in the head, and definitely doing alright. If they did that with absolutely no regulation or framework, then maybe they should make the framework as exactly what it is today and turn it into a law. Do not offer any more hardship or problems for anyone on top of the current situation if you want growth.
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Shiba inu get to $1 on: January 30, 2023, 08:14:41 PM
This is getting ludacris. I have to say that this is as boring as it could get and I really can't believe that people are still doing it, why? Why are you still doing this? Is this some kind of troll experiment? Like you are so sure that it would piss people off and that's why you are doing it?

Because, there is only two options in my mind, either you are sure that it will piss some people off and you wanted to have fun seeing that, or you are really really not that bright, I don't want to say something harsher, I mean I want to but I would be banned. No, in short, it is definitely IMPOSSIBLE for that to happen, literally impossible, it is not going to happen.
1692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top AI Crypto coins that can possibly change your life on: January 30, 2023, 06:30:41 PM
Nope, not gonna change my life. First of all, stop calling these AI, they are not AI, it is literally just boring data processing stuff, nothing really big, not like they are going to rise up and take over the world lol, they are boring. However, there is also a fact that we are talking about something unique here with how they are just using the highest and brand new tech out there to make it work, and in reality we all know it won't work like that, it will be quite different.

This is why it is quite important to learn that these will not be big deals and won't make you any profit. You can go ahead and try for yourself but I am not going to do it.
1693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 29, 2023, 04:42:03 PM
These down weeks do not really make it any easier to bet. I tried to do FA and some other leagues, but none of them are ever as good as premier league. Something about premier league makes sure that it is the best league out there, not just talent or anything which I believe they are as good as any in that regard, but more about being a lot more entertaining to watch.

I can sit down and watch a game between Everton and Southampton, the bottom teams of the league, and still have more fun watching a Juventus game or a Lille game, it is just not even close to me. Anyway, next week we get the games again, and I got my bets ready. Chelsea, Arsenal, United, City, LFC and Newcastle to all win, that's a huge odds when you parlay them together. I will probably lose lol.
1694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 28, 2023, 02:09:02 PM
It really doesn't mean that it was a "bad" idea, it is not just about bad or anything like that, it is also an immoral and illegal one that's the problem. I mean win or lose, this is a bad thing and it is an illegal thing. You can't embezzle funds and you can't just get away with it because you profited from it.

If you allow even one person to not follow the law then you have to accept the fact that it is not a law anymore, otherwise what is law for you may not become law for someone else and that's how corruption starts. I personally believe that this person should be jailed and to a maximum level, just because they failed to follow the law of the nation and should be prosecuted.
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 27, 2023, 09:19:01 PM
Real is definitely a great team. They are a perfect team for tournaments, I do not know what makes them so great at tournaments better than everyone else, but I am pretty sure that it's something special and definitely something that takes a bit of their time to specialize in that.

They managed to get the win very late in the game but they did, and they do this all the time, they work the defense up all game and try to either find a spot they can get in, or they even learn and adapt during the game itself, and after they tire the defense out, they just do what they do best. They have done this against the best teams of the world, and keep doing it again.
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 22/23 - discussion thread on: January 27, 2023, 09:02:09 PM
It's a damn shame that Ajax failed to win even this game, which was totally within scope of them winning and they were really on the way to get an easy win against a team that shouldn't have been a problem for them at all. To consider that they have gotten yet another tie, means that there is something wrong with the team that is beyond just the roster and the manager.

Maybe it is a bit of psychological reasons behind it, maybe the team doesn't feel the confidence they used to feel and they do not want to lose games but they do not feel like they could become a great team neither, and that causes them to feel more at ease with a tie, and work harder when behind, but not work hard to win it.
1697  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 27, 2023, 08:08:30 PM
It's really important to have savings on months where you do not have unexpected expenses, like you just did have one, and put that aside. I had about 1.5 years of my life during pandemic where everything went as good as could be hoped for, everything went perfectly well and it was great, then what happened?

Many things went wrong in my life and I got into HUGE debt during late stages of 2021, during September/October of that year. Since those days I have been paying that debt, literally couldn't save a single dollar most of the months, found some extra income somewhere couple of times but it was rare, and this month was the last month I paid my debt in full and now I am done.
1698  Economy / Economics / Re: A bullish case: HOW MUCH #BITCOIN to get rich and fund your lifestyle? on: January 27, 2023, 07:26:10 PM
I have to say I seem to be on the upper scale of upper middle class, just below where really wealthy people start, and yet I am so bad at finance that I barely live. Like buying the brand new macbook m2 max laptop would be unachievable dream for me, hell I am having trouble with buying a new monitor for my PC these days, not impossible of course I can get it but it is really not worth the extra stress on my finances.

It means that the calculation is either wrong, or majority of people are living in literal poverty. Like just food+clothes+shelter+bills, that's it, nothing else is left, that is the bare minimum to survive, that must be 95% of the population with this calculation. I agree there are a lot of people in poverty but not this much, that must be wrong.
1699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: January 27, 2023, 06:51:41 PM
Having the confidence to say that we are no longer in the bear market is all we need, we do not even need to be out of it really, we could be still in it, but if the market gave us enough confidence to say we are not, that is more than enough. It allows us to do as much as we possibly can with the price we have, and even though there will be some sellers, this confidence will bring in more buyers eventually.

What we need now is to keep this high confidence going, if we lose it tomorrow then it means nothing, but if we keep it going for another month then it could be start of a bull run that could take us much higher to 30k+ even 40k+ eventually, as long as it stays like this, it will go up.
1700  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 27, 2023, 05:08:04 PM
It won't drop to zero, and nothing could happen if it ever goes to zero because it won't. This is what everyone will tell you because it's not just about people anymore, there are super wealthy companies and even some nations involved with bitcoin now, and those rich people will not let bitcoin hit to zero no matter what happens, millions of dollars even billions of dollars will go into bitcoin to buy it and keep it higher.

Sure it could drop, but not to zero, it  probably be 10k at the very worst case and not anything under because there are funds that will make sure they buy as much as possible to not let it drop anything further, and this is why buying right now is such a good decision.
