1741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 18, 2023, 09:03:41 PM
Ja Morant being tested is not really a shocking news to be honest. This is the league with some of the greatest athletes in the world and they are people who are famous for jumping really high, that's something in basketball, not required but many do.

And even in those players, he is on a whole another level, we have seen very few people like him, I mean jumping "unreal" even in the NBA level is rare, only handful has managed to shock the world even while being known as a jumper, because people expect you t jump high anyway, and breaking above those high expectations is rare. This dude could touch the top of a backboard, given the uniqueness of the situation, I can see it.
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 18, 2023, 08:22:24 PM
Looking at the point difference, it looks like Napoli would probably not let that much point difference to be closed down in a few months, I know that it looks possible within just a month if they start to play worse, or if they get an important player injured or something. But the difference is 8 points now and they are doing as well as hoped right now so I do not think that it will be that much possible.

All I am guessing is that it is going to be a tough situation for any other team, they have to win every single game if they want to beat Napoli and that will probably not happen. I am guessing that it is going to be a tough situation for Napoli as well to keep this going after this year as well.
1743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting. on: January 17, 2023, 09:28:52 PM
I think it's not about the fact that it's not gambled too much, many things that aren't gambled that much are still on the casinos because it's the norm to have them.

But, it is more about the fact that it hasn't been wagered on for too long, some places started it maybe a decade ago at the longest, don't know if it happened before that but if it did then it must be even more local and rare, 10 years ago it started to grow, and so far it has grown to a size but it's still fairly new compared to most other things we bet on. Wait and see, in 10 years it will be EVERYWHERE, you will see people gambling on this all the time, it just needs time to get there.
1744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: January 17, 2023, 05:59:24 PM
I do agree that Galatasaray will win the title. And there is another situation where Fener is losing not just because of the team or the manager, but because of the president so it seems. I do not know who he is, but from twitter I can see a lot of fenerbahce fans are angry at him, looking at the team they are pretty expensive, but maybe they bought uselessly expensive players or something?

Doesn't really look like it to be fair, looks like they have good team, but for some reason twitter fans are quite angry at the president. Also another thing I learned, Turkish teams do not have "owners", they have presidents who are elected, that is actually amazing, wish our teams were like that too.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 16, 2023, 08:58:04 PM
If they keep paying players this much more money than anyone else could possibly offer, they will build a league that is unheard of and amazing. They could get even prime age players as well and not just old players, if you offered Mbappe 600 million a year, or 1 billion a year type of money, I know it would probably not happen, I know he will probably decline, but seriously who could "easily" say no to 1 billion a year and 5 year guaranteed deal?

That's 5 billion dollars, that's money that could get you a whole team for yourself in just 5 years. This is why it's all about the money, they need the money to keep this league going on the right track.
1746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 16, 2023, 08:08:04 PM
I think Westbrook was trying to pass to corner on that last possession, it looks like the ball went to the hoop but if you look closely he was trying to pass it to the guy who was open at the corner, which would have been very tiny time left, maybe not even enough to shoot. In any case, when there is a very little time left, it's never reasonable to go inside because there is a bigger chance you could be closely guarded, it's better to take a shot.

How many shots have you seen that were buzzer beaters, and how many layup/dunks have you seen as buzzer beaters? Most of them are shots, almost all of them, because there is a logic behind that, and it's regarding defense.
1747  Economy / Economics / Re: Salvadoran lawmakers pass digital asset issuance law in bitcoin haven on: January 16, 2023, 06:52:11 PM
Volcanic energy resources are not that viable not because of price but because of the startup cost and the rare situation they are found. Like in my entire nation there is just a single place that is believed to be active thousands of years ago, hence we can't really get anything out of it. This is why it's not that common and not many people work on making it optimized. I am not saying it's a bad idea or anything.

El Salvador however working towards a bit more digital world is definitely a good example. I believe that anything they do, any law, any regulations they d are seen as something that is very good and I applaud them for it and all other nations are looking closely to it as well.
1748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana takes back top 10 position on: January 16, 2023, 05:55:52 PM
Definitely a pump and the part where it is going to be a dump is coming right away. I have to say that it's going to be something that is going to be troubling for most people when the price starts to go down and I fear that too many people will be impacted by this as well.

I get that it made some hyped movements and a lot of people ended up buying it, but I am warning everyone against getting too much of it because it will definitely end up with losing a lot of its valuation very soon. It's better to have just a bit of return but at least a return that you are proud of, that would be a lot better for all of us to make sure we invest into something trustworthy instead.
1749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you feel about market recovery on: January 15, 2023, 12:59:54 PM
I feel like the situation doesn't really give me hopes for a big bull run just yet. I know some people think that this is start of a bull run, but I think not yet, it is going to take a while before we could reach there. I know that it will happen, and I trust that bitcoin will break ATH again, maybe this year or maybe some other year but it will happen.

All I am saying is that we are not going to see that skyrocketing price anytime soon just yet. This was a good increase, and I am expecting it to either stay around here, or drop, or maybe go up just a tiny bit, like 10-20% more, but not going to see those amazing 2x or more increases just yet, it will have to wait some more.
1750  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NYC schools block ChatGPT, fearing negative impact on learning on: January 14, 2023, 02:34:23 PM
It is. It is 100% good enough to write essays, I have a close friend of mine who is a teacher and they are just patiently waiting for someone to figure out a way to stop students from using it. They have no idea if some or any or even all of the students are using it to write their essays, because you give them homeworks and they could get something like this out in a matter of seconds, and the homework would be done yet there is absolutely no way that people would know if it was chatgpt or not.

So ,I am entirely sure that this is an educational nightmare right now, I heard it first hand, and yet I have no idea if it will be fixed anytime soon.
1751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did Miss El Salvador cause the Bitcoin price to spike last night? on: January 14, 2023, 11:12:22 AM
I do not think that price jumped because of this, because I do not believe that not even that many people watch this, it never really felt that way at all. But at the same time, we have to say that it's an important thing and it does definitely bring a lot more eyes on bitcoin, a good thing for sure.

Something doesn't have to increase the price a lot to be a good thing for bitcoin, there are some things in the world that doesn't increase the price but still good for the long term of bitcoin and that is why I believe that we should be investing a lot more to those type of things, to make it more known and help in the long run, build some sort of strong foundation.
1752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your emotions balanced especially regarding Bitcoin on: January 14, 2023, 08:42:22 AM
It is not as easy as it looks, it takes time before you could do something like this and it's understandable, but at the end of the day it is going to be a pretty big part of your life if you are going to keep focusing on what is happening.

I believe that the best thing to do would be limiting your emotions, getting rid of them is not easy but you could at least limit them. Like for example locking your money would mean that you can't use it even if you want to and that is why I tend to lock them when I can, it allows me to not look at them for a while. Too many people end up with a bit of a problem when they end up with emotions during a bear market.
1753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you stacking up on? on: January 13, 2023, 10:14:23 PM
If we are not going to talk about BTC (because altcoin section) then ETH and BNB, not that I do not have anything else, I have a small amount in other things as well but those two are what I keep rebuying more and more. I am going to end up with as much of them as I could possibly have, not that I am going to stop anytime soon.

It means that every time I get my salary, I am going to spend a little bit of it on buying eth and bnb, right now at 50-50% situation but I will get some more ETH later on during the summer when I will get rid of all my debt (which is almost over) and can spare more money. I understand people who buy smaller cap stuff, but this is what I prefer.
1754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 13, 2023, 09:55:54 PM
Moukoko going to Newcastle seems to be getting a lot more real. He has been offered an amount by Dortmund and hasn't accepted it yet, which means that he knows what one side is offering right now and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

This means he is expecting Newcastle to have a bigger and better offer, and as we all know they are owned by the richest person in the world probably, not open to public but that seems like it, and they could offer him 10x more than what Dortmund offered, probably won't be that big but they can definitely offer more and this means if that's all he is waiting for, then he will get what he is asking and will leave Dortmund for sure.
1755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: January 13, 2023, 09:46:32 PM
I do believe that it's one of the best out there right now. I know not many people believe this but it is definitely the best altcoin for me. It is obvious that many people think the same way as well because it is the second biggest coin ever, only after bitcoin itself and if people didn't think that it's the best coin then it wouldn't be able to go there at all.

This is why it should have been so important to have some on your portfolio and I can definitely say that I trust it to be safe. This is of course my understanding and if we are talking about being safe or not, you can't possibly know and maybe I could be wrong about it and it's not, but I do trust it.
1756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 13, 2023, 08:21:53 PM
This is the type of team Lens is, I know many people expected a lot more from them and even wanted to see them fight against PSG because we are tired of seeing PSG dominated the league and all, but they are the type of team that would drop points at unexpected moments because they are not as good as people think they are.

The reality is that we are going to see PSG win it again, and they have such amazing squad that I am pretty sure they would beat 50%+ of the teams if they didn't had neymar-mbappe-messi trio, like literally all of that would be gone and they could still beat more than half of the league which is a great power to have for sure.
1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 13, 2023, 07:06:11 PM
There are some individuals who claimed this and I understand that it has been a bit more common in here and there, but that's more about us hearing more about it now than it happening more these days.

I think the amount of times it happened is exactly the same and has not increased at all, I think this has happened before and it has been the same amount of times, but this time around we are hearing more about it and that's a lot more important. That's why it's quite important to keep it going with the reputation topics and increasing the importance of bitcointalk, because it's not just about crypto, but it's also about keeping casinos responsible for all their actions.
1758  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best crypto selling method on exchanges on: January 13, 2023, 06:12:34 PM
I do prefer to sell it instantly because I rarely sell and when I do that means I need it right away. Plus, I am a long term investor, which means that if I am going to sell my coins, it is already at a very vastly different price point and that means that small difference between selling instantly on market price versus selling on an order is not that huge compared to the huge difference between when I bought and when I sell.

My ideal situation would be selling when the price hits over 100k, so lets assume that it did and I am going to sell, the price is something like 103.2k and I sell at 103.1k because of market sell, do you think it would matter at all?
1759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why most of airdrops don't pay participants with tokens in these days?? on: January 13, 2023, 05:49:03 PM
I think it has everything to do with the bear market. Most projects back in the day would make some money, not a lot but at least some even if they are bad and they could make A LOT of money if they were any good.

These days most of them suck and they do not make any money at all which means that they just give up, I have seen plenty of projects like that where the owners just give up, because their bounty didn't work and it resulted with them being terrible in the long run and they just do not want to give tokens to people because they stop the project. Same happened here, just doesn't make sense to me at all and would be smarter if it was not participated in at the first place.
1760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Degods -> ETH, y00ts -> Polygon, Will $SOL going down more? on: January 13, 2023, 05:14:44 PM
I honestly do not think that these were what kept SOL be high, nor they are not the ones that made it good neither. If SOL drops, it will be totally unrelated to this, and if it ever goes up it will be unrelated to this as well.

I believe that we are going to have some sort of trouble in the long run if we just trust SOL to be good based on the projects it has, because those projects could leave at any moment, if you want to trust SOL then trust it directly and invest into it because SOL is good and not because of any other project. I personally do not like it that much, but do not dislike it more because of this at all, unrelated.
