1621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does regulation affect the future of cryptocurrency? on: February 16, 2023, 08:36:00 PM
Good regulation means a lot of big companies will get in, bad regulation means they won't. That is the gist of it if you ask me, of course it is not the whole story but that is the biggest one. If you want wall street to pour in billions and billions constantly, you need to have a good regulation and if you do not have that then it means you are not going to be doing good and will lack that money.

If there are good regulations and those companies start to spend billions that means you are going to also see the price of bitcoin go up as well. I can't say much else about it, there would be some other stuff but none of it will matter as much as this one.
1622  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How the rising trend in CPI will affect Bitcoin price in short to medium term? on: February 16, 2023, 07:06:08 PM
Basically the value of dollar is going down, because costs are going up, and we all need to make more dollars to live the same life. That is simply called inflation, and it has gone up a lot so far and I am thinking that it may keep going up a bit more, not as fast as it used to but still could go up even more.

That means we need to find a solution to what we have and we should be going up a bit more, and that is going to be a tough situation to be in because while bitcoin prices going up thanks to inflation, the purchasing power may not, and that would mean you would have more dollars in the bank but same amount of things that you can buy with it all the same.
1623  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency trading without knowledge on: February 16, 2023, 05:51:32 PM
I understand that people see others making huge sums of profits and they want to do the same thing but trading requires vast amount of knowledge to do so and it is not an easy thing to handle neither, it is really a trouble for many people to keep doing this.

I understand that it is not going to be an easy thing to do because we are talking about months or even maybe years of work required for it and I understand it is not going to be simple, but realizing what could be done is definitely a big situation that requires a lot of trouble. Just focus on what you should be able to do with the things you have, and not trade with what you don't have.
1624  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin hold, sell or trade?? on: February 16, 2023, 03:53:01 PM
I would say hold and bitcoin. I know that it was sell or trade, but I would not sell and rather not trade, and I would rather pick bitcoin over all others. Why do you think that bitcoin is at the top right now and bigger than all the other coins, at times even bigger than all the other coins combined? That is because it is the best one and why would I prefer something that is worse than something else?

I would rather pick something that is better than all the other options and bitcoin is better than all the other options. In this case holding makes me profit because why not hold the thing that is the best out there for as long as possible, that sounds like a good investment.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 16, 2023, 11:10:54 AM
City just played too consistently and pressured Arsenal all game. Arsenal expected that after that first half, City players would be too tired to keep playing the way they did, because even if you rest on the break, you should be tired by 70th minute the way City played, it was a high tempo game and Arsenal went with it and played a high tempo game and kept it close as much as they can.

After a while Arsenal players got tired and City showed that they tire the other team by passing well, and not just keeping the ball, hence why Arsenal had more possession, City just tires other teams out and plays smart and that's why they end up beating everyone.
1626  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why are there sometimes big difference between spot trading and futures? on: February 15, 2023, 09:16:11 PM
I have to agree with everyone and say the risk, that is the biggest difference between them. But, if we want to talk something a bit more fresh, I cold say that the knowledge as well, because spot trading is easier and requires less knowledge whereas futures require a lot more intricate and sensitive information that you need to master, it is not that easy.

If you are a master at it, doing it may sound and look easy for you because you already know it, but for a newbie those same things would look daunting and scary to learn at first, plus the fact that your money depends on how well you learned makes it even tougher and that is why it is so much more difficult.
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 15, 2023, 08:22:56 PM
I think it is quite important to also notice that Brazil is the best in their own continent, along with Argentina obviously, I do not see any other Latin American team to be as dominant as these two nations. On the other hand Europe has so many good teams, so that means Brazil, as one of the best in their continent, will have to face multiple European teams, which causes imbalance and unfair calculation.

You are talking about one nation, vs a whole football oriented continent, of course Brazil would lose to one of them. If you look at how many times European teams won against Latin American teams, that difference will be huge, and Brazil does better than average Latin American team.
1628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I be worried? on: February 15, 2023, 07:43:04 PM
I agree that it isn't this much of a big deal, it is something you need to look as generally as possible. Do not invest into any "NFT" because they are nft, invest because it is good, do not invest into anything that is meme, just because they are meme, invest because they are good, not for metaverse, not for p2e, not for AI as well.

Do not invest because they have these buzzwords on their resume, invest because you think it could be as good as it gets and that is what you want, that way you would make a good profit out of them. If you invest because they used some buzzwords and said meta or AI or anything like that, they could be tricking you into investing.
1629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP future looks shaky and uncertain on: February 15, 2023, 06:20:20 PM
Ripple always knew that they were playing with fire when they started, and now people are suddenly realizing that fact. This is a company that says "we can move your money all around the world for very cheap using the money we made up" and you think that governments would not find any problems in that?

It was always obvious that money is something you can't just create out of nothing and be a company about it, bitcoin is fine because nobody profits from bitcoin being used, XRP however profits Ripple as much as it could profit them and that is the difference, it is based on a company and that will never be ok for any government in the entire world.
1630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alts Blood Bath for Feb? on: February 15, 2023, 05:15:35 PM
To be fair it isn't that much down, and yeah it does look a little bit red, but not a lot to say it is a blood bath. We had 80%+ drops in 2022, this 5% drop is nothing compared to that if you ask me and would only be bad if it keeps happening all the time, if it doesn't then I am guessing that it will become something quite usual and not a big deal at all.

Plus, we could go up this much in a single day, the only bad runs are the ones that you can't recover from in a single day, this one is not like that. Can't ETH or BNB or whatever end up going up 5% in a day? It can, we know this and we have seen this, which is why we shouldn't be really worried about the current situation.
1631  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it true that 80% of the world's wealth in the hands of 20%? on: February 15, 2023, 03:42:50 PM
I wish, 80% of worlds wealth is in the hands of very tiny portion, like 1%, that is the issue that we are having right now and why people are so much angry at the top. When you say you should tax all these companies that make billions in profit, liberals go against it and say that it is an achievement and we shouldn't be charging them for being successful.

But, the fact is that we can't keep supporting these rich folks getting richer forever, we need to do something to close this wealth gap one day, otherwise there will be a few wealthy people and billions in poverty, and we are already getting there pretty quick. Tax the rich, and not just people, the companies too.
1632  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto aid for Turkey exceeds $4.5M in one week on: February 15, 2023, 01:45:23 PM
They had dollars and lira and other fiat stuff along with crypto. Which means that it wasn't just crypto that they collected, it was everything they could. Over 30 thousand people died in these earthquakes, and calculations are still done, could be as high as 60-70 thousand people dead, but that is not the only thing, hundreds of thousands of people are also homeless now, and even the ones who still have homes fear to go back inside.

So, there will be a period where Turkey will need a ton of money to recover, to clear the debris, to build houses again, and to make sure people are not afraid to go in, this will take longer than a year to do so.
1633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 14, 2023, 08:28:02 PM
One thing about Suns is that they have way too much offense to their very little defense. CP3 is not the defender he used to be, Booker is not a great defender, and Ayton is a good rebounder but couldn't say he was a rim protector, not a feared one at least, and Durant is great at defense but he will be pretty tired on scoring constantly on offense, so he can't really put all his efforts on defense.

This concludes that they won't really have a great defense, could be good, just good, but not great and they may have some trouble on playoffs. They can play a lot better on regular season because people don't defend that hard, but playoffs could be a trouble.
1634  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 14, 2023, 08:15:23 PM
First of all, there is no "limited side hustle" anymore because we are in the online world, if you can write here, then you can earn money from working online as well, if you are still a student, it would be wise to learn at least one skill you could sell in the future, that way you will never have no side hustle, you will always have one. On the other hand, if we are talking about a situation where it is more like start working now, or start investing now?

I would say forget about all of that and actually study, not just study for the class, but actually study. I regret not being a better student, it would have given me so much more but I didn't and can't get that back, I hope you will take it more seriously than me.
1635  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone here into passive investing (of their time)? on: February 14, 2023, 07:08:02 PM
I think musicians are like that too, like you release a song but every time people listen to it, you make money as well, plus when you have a concert, people will ask for that song, so the more you have, the better chance you can have songs people will listen to everyday. Books of course like that I agree, software is like that too in a way.

I mean you have to sell it, but if it is good enough, you work and build it once, then upload and then people will pay for it forever if it is good. Those type of stuff are quite important and you would be lucky to do that, but these are all things that require you to be very good at what you do, you can't be a terrible one and still make a lot of money just because you did it.
1636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 13, 2023, 10:21:01 PM
Mbappe being back in the squad doesn't guarantee that he will be playing. It could be that he is feeling alright enough that he will be taken there but at the end of the day he could be not fully ready to comeback and considering this is a very important game and they do not need Mbappe to play and reinjure himself this way, it would be quite terrible in the long run.

I personally believe it is better to just focus on him getting better and he could be in the bench and could be played at the last 10-20 or even 30 minutes if he feels fine, that way it would be lower chance of reinjuring himself compared to 90 minutes and he could be resting a lot better for the next game.
1637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 12, 2023, 06:51:49 PM
When you have the best team in the league playing against the worst team in the league, the odds will be a little bit off. Napoli will win without a doubt, and many places do not even offer straight up Napoli win neither, they are offering 1.5+ goals win, meaning Napoli must win by 2 goals at least and even those odds are low, and the ones that have Napoli win are giving as little odds as it could be, seen one for 1.004 for example, like what the hell is that.

All in all, I could say that this is a game to avoid, not because we may fail but the return just doesn't worth gambling on it. If you can find me one where Napoli gets 1.4 or 1.5 then I am sure many will gamble on that.
1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 11, 2023, 06:31:54 AM
I have talked with one back in the day, it was one of the earliest casinos in crypto, and the owner was just too busy to gamble. He was a big big time gambler, he spent hours and hours gambling everyday, and that is why he wanted to own a casino, and after he stopped gambling to build his casino, he had to work so much that, he didn't had time to watch tv, eat outside with friends, go to movies, see a play, nothing. He had to work as much as 20 hours a day sometimes, sometimes a bit less but 15 hours was a "nothing happened today" day for him.

So, if you are an owner like that, then you do not have time to gamble, but if you have time to gamble... well then you are doing something wrong.
1639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 11, 2023, 06:01:03 AM
Sometimes a bad stretch happens and that is what happened to Milan as well, sad because it brought them from fighting for a title chance even if it was a small chance, to being very much done with that already, by far even. That is not good of course and that is a bad thing, but that doesn't change the fact that they got a win, so if they can't be a champion then they can't be a champion that is fine, at least they could fight for that second place and they are not too far away from it.

I personally believe that it will take some time for them to get better again and this game wasn't it just yet, but they could definitely get better in a few games.
1640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in new Projects (Need Suggestion) on: February 10, 2023, 09:24:00 PM
The point here is that "should I invest in new projects" and "should I invest in THESE new projects" are different as well. Even though I highly suggest not to invest into new projects no matter which one it is, there could be some people who could say, do not invest into these new projects but generally speaking you could invest in new projects.

The logic is that they would be able to give you bigger returns than a bitcoin investment could give you, which I understand and agree if you pick the right one. However, it is also very important to realize that these would usually turn out to be bad projects that will not be able to help you make any profit.
