Guys at OVH datacentre failed. They're even bigger idiots than Linode admins.

I'm migrating stratum backends to another datacentre. Please be patient, I'm working on it hard.

Maybe it would make sense to lower Getwork fees then?
Cause atm all my miners felt back to getwork since stratum is not accessible.

ddos gonna escalate in my opinion,we must implement some countermeasures, like udp and icmp filtering or engress filtering...

You can't counter DDOS, assuming it is organized 'right'.

I am expanding my mining rig with two more 7970's tonight.  Hopefully the DDOS is over by then.

I think its being DDOSed too.

Many pools are getting DDOSed at the same time. Some is trying real hard to drop the bitcoin difficulty.

If you use Getwork in a round, even when in the middle of it you swap to stratum, the red box still there until the round ends. And now we are in a long long round

EDIT: Misspell corrected

Yeah i get the same thing, both of my miners are using cgminer 2.11.2, one says i'm using stratum the other says its not.

Is there a setting in cgminer that may be making one of them use getwork?

Guys, just chill. It isn't easy to fix/stop something like this, and I'm sure Slush is working as hard as he can on it while dealing with his own life.

My son moved his web site to another provider and he had trouble fixing it for days. Slushy is an old hand at this so I hope it doesn't take as long as that. Still there is a lot of hard work to move things over. I don't envy him. Good luck Slushy Smiley

Anybody knows how to configure mining proxy (winver) to use with getwork?

I have a lot of cpu* getwork miners runing in a corporate intranet, and connect to my mining prox outside listen in 80port (due restrictions of corporate proxy cant connect to non HTTP ports), and my minprox is stratum to pool. Can´t connect direct miners to getwork pool due nature of ports involved.

*Yes, I know that CPU mining is "not reliable", but with a lot of machines, and not paying for power, I get some uBTCs every day

As an asside from the DDOS and the issues i have in canada connecting, looks like just over the border from me is at least one hop not properly responding

Every once in a while prior to the DDos i would get alot of errors related to the Stratum connection that was simple to resolve by restarting the proxy, currently tho I am getting the following error

2013-04-17 10:18:35,296 ERROR proxy client_service.on_timeout # Connection to up
stream pool timed out

Hopefully people remember tracert
