Made a Devtome Blog:
http://devtome.blogspot.com/

I'm thinking whoevers article gets the most clicks in 1 month gets the adsense money... Or maybe the money just goes into Devcoin or Devtome somehow.

What do ya'll think? Should I start posting more articles?

If everyone is thinking outside the box, there is a new box.

Maybe crosslink articles with relevant info in Devtome and drive more traffic there? Speaking of I saw some Google Analytics for Devtome, but what does the AdSense look like? If we got more traffic to Devtome would AdSense increase at all?

Good idea. I should add links to all the articles.

Hey wiser, I read the "Giving back" section.

Maybe a cool feature would be a new section for the userpage called "Donation"
A person could put a certain percentage on there to be given back to the foundation to help increase the value of devcoin!  Smiley

@FinShaggy: Shakezula said you were broke... How did you get to Colorado and get living arrangements?  You don't have to answer, I'm just curious.  Smiley

Family lives here. I lived with family at first, then went to Mexico and New Mexico and Florida for a short while, couldn't find a job in any of those places. Then came back to Colorado, but went to Pueblo this time and my mom paid $300 rent for me. That was almost a year ago now.

You know, I think that idea has a lot of potential, actually.  I would expand it by having the ability to allocate your donation in a specific way, to a specific project.  Then everyone who is doing something to improve or promote the Devcoin project can essentially bid for our donation DVCs.  People who want to solicit those donations could go through a screening process, but then after that it's up to them to convince the rest of us writers that their project is worthy.

So... we would get to choose the donation percentage (it would get kicked off with each generation share), and we get to choose where it goes.

I'm not sure if this is redundant to the bounties or not (it doesn't necessarily have to be), but it would definitely spread out the ownership into the rest of the projects.  I'd definitely have to understand a project to be able to support it, so it would give incentive for people who are working on these very high level technical things to take the time to explain them in plain English to us non-technical people.

I'd almost be in favor of there being an automatic 1% mandatory donation.  Almost.  The reason I say "almost" is because I'm well aware I'm missing information.  And of course when it comes right down to it, I lean on the capitalist side (as opposed to forced sharing of wealth).  But I do think this would be worth pondering, even considering, and possibly modifying to work with the system.  Thoughts?

That would be cool. And a thread with a poll to choose the project.

No need for a poll.  Each donator would allocate which projects their funds went to.

I just want to make a general statement.

This coin is DESIGNED to inflate. No denying that. So the WORST thing you can do for this coin is not buy cheap ones, and sit on a wallet full of coins you earned for free.

That does NOTHING for Devcoin. There are an INFINITE number of coin being produced, so if you would like to see the value go up, you need to actively be working towards that as an individual. As well as attempting to work with others.

Would anyone want to start a writers union? We all agree that we will only sell 20% MAX of our coins below a penny. And we will buy as many coins as we can that are under a penny.

This will make the market rise and stabilize at one penny.

Divide and Conquer. But United, we can be strong.

There are only like 30 of us, it can't be that hard to round up 1/3 of us that want to make this coin better while earning more for your writing.

How realistic is it to aim for one penny per coin, with the sheer amount being produced? What is the worth of the words awarded the 180 million DVC  produced every round? 1.8 million dollars?

The only way to permanently raise the value of DVC is to improve Devtome.  I say we rank the articles each month by the number of unique page views.  The bottom 50% don't earn anything.  Simple.

This rewards good content while discouraging the bad, as well as encouraging people to promote their work.  The good content will earn more than it used to, and less bad content will be produced, Devtome will be improved and the value of DVC will rise.

It's not about what the current "value" of the coin is. If we are developing enough stuff, the coin will automatically go up in value.

Not true. If EVERYONE dumping coins agreed that 80% of those coins had to sell for 1 penny. It would BE DONE TODAY.

We also need to by advertising this as THE TIME TO BUY DEVCOIN. And if the price gets lower, we need to be LOUDER ABOUT IT.

Tell EVERYONE, buy low, sell high. And do it yourself also. If we can get enough people behind this philosophy (Buy low, sell high is the philosophy of ANY MARKET), we can make a thread announcing it, and as long as we support each other, the coin will benefit.

You guys get mad at people for writing, dumping and disappearing. But you aren't even actively "here" for the coin yourselves.

If you have been here for more than 9 months (enough time to create a human being), and don't have some kind of Devcoin business. What are you doing? (not developers, I understand the coin itself and Devtome are a task)

So what's your devcoion business fin?  Cheesy

1. I haven't been here for 9 months

2. A Book store, I have over 36 books that will be for sale when I finish reading them (already read 3, so 39 total).

Plus, when I get paid for round 28, I am making the first ever DevSilver shop.

3. Writers Union (see first post of page)

Fin you're fighting an uphill battle.
Blame the dev for not closing down the devtome until the price stabilizes and not being more picky on who gets the shares.
Not the buyers.
