been noticing stable dvc price no more dumping.. what a coincidence lol no more writers to selloff the coin..I know I know ill go back to my corner. Just saying
Oh yeah. Because we could have all dumped the coins we haven't even been paid yet... So this "stabilization" would have happened either way. No one was getting coins for like another week or 2...

Bitcoin's price stopped its upward movement. I think that's why Devcoin, and most other alt coins, have stopped going lower.

It really is just bots. About 36k accounts actually. But since registration requires approval, they are just causing problems.
Overhead singing near the water cooler: "Thirty-six thousand bots on the wall, bots on the wall, bots on the wall; And if one should accidentally fall... ...there'd be seventy-two thousand bots on the wall, bots on the wall, bots on the wall; And if one should accidentally fall... ...there's be one hundred and forty-two thousand bots on the wall, bots on the wall, bots on the wall..." ----- I'd just like to say a big 'thank you' to all the admins who are working to help restore normal service. I don't have a crystal ball and cannot predict the future, however I'd imagine the worst case scenario is that the wiki is destroyed and all authors re-submit their work to another, more secure site. I'd certainly be in favour of expenditure on a robust front-end or even hiring someone to fix the problem, there's not enough hours in the day for the DVC gals and guys to be dealing with this attack. Kudos to everyone who is helping  Luckily, resubmission shouldn't be needed. When you run the Python script to get the latest information on word counts and whatnot, it automatically downloads each article and saves it in a .txt file (based on its title). This would be imported pretty easily I think, should that become necessary.

are bots really causing this? what happened just before it occured?
and also I had a question... who manages the Devcoin source? I'd like to contribute to the project and would not mind asking some questions.

I think it is here: https://github.com/doublec/devcoinHmm I didn't know of that one, or had forgotten it. I keep my copies at https://github.com/knotwork/old-devcoindand https://github.com/knotwork/old-devcoin-qtand tarballs at http://sourceforge.net/projects/galacticmilieu/files/DeVCoin/The "old" in the github repo names are because DeVCoin is based on old code, and I had planned to start new repos to base it on newer code, but then a bunch of stuff happened making the newer code I was working on already start to get out of date so i never yet did get newer versions uploaded. Now of course the thing to do is base it on the new I0Coin so it gets recent bitcoin code plus the memory fixes to fix the problem all merged mined coins have of needing more and more RAM over time than non merged coins need. -MarkM-

Thanks, I've forked my own copies of all files and will proceed to review the code, Anything needed at this moment?
but I think the devtome problem is our biggest concern, I'll be thinking about that for a while, since that's all I can do at the moment.

has anyone thought of moving devtome to the .bit domain? That way we don't have to worry about paying for the website and can fund many more sites for construction and promotion. We got to get that money to those musicians, painters, photographers and other creative types, besides it would be nice to fund that kind of creative change.

So what happens at 109,000 if Devtome is still down?

For those interested in using Open Cart, an open source store, shopping cart, and check out , it's easy to set up, update products, and incorporate coinpayments.net merchant solution, which accepts devcoins! I just got the layout and payments working. Once set up, depending upon which features/modules you use, your site could look like this Amazonia Imports (with your own products of course). Your store looks pretty good! Does it require MySQL?

My macbook has been running a lot slower ever since I downloaded the Devcoin wallet, has this happened to anyone else? I have other alt coin wallets and its fine, only had the problem since the DVC wallet install.

I think DVC takes up a lot of RAM
