Sorry for bringing this up again, I am trying the clarify! You don't get credit for both a leaderboard and a link, because the leaderboard is a link.

I'm also missing 2/5 from somewhere.

A question about Devcoin wallets for those in the know please. I've just downloaded this wallet: windows-exp installer version https://www.box.com/s/crfmuuhe0f32w5g4nt4ifrom: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=how_to_get_setup_earning_devcoins_by_writingIt's downloaded and the program has opened successfully, against my better judgement I've allowed it full access to bypass my firewall and it certainly looks like a Bitcoin wallet with the green Devcoin logo at the top. My question is, how many blocks are going to be downloaded, is it the full Devcoin blockchain and how big is that? Already after only a few minutes it's downloaded almost 50000 blocks and used up about 60mb of bandwidth. I'm using super portable but super expensive wireless broadband internet and I just can't have this download continuing without end, it's going to cost me a fortune. To give some perspective, I'm paying a ridiculous amount for 4G (my choice I know) and I get 12gb for AUD$180. I'm trying to participate in the 'Earn Devcoins by Writing' program and need a wallet for this, I've written my first article but I need to get some perspective on how long this blockchain download is going to be (if I can't I'll have to pull the plug on it) or I need an alternative wallet like Electrum that can accept Devcoins and is 'lite'. Any ideas please anyone? We are around block 109000 I believe.

Nope, thanks for bringing it to my attention. What happened to your projects we went and got all those new domains for?
Nothing yet. is there some problem securing all the domains required so that the announcements can be made?
The problem is that we don't have enough money or admins to make other sites. I estimate it would take at least 10,000$ to start another site, 20,000$ to do it well. Assuming not more than one percent of the market capitalization is used for any one project: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty#project_typesthat means the market cap would have to be at least 2 million dollars to make a good site. We have about 15 devcoin admins, and I estimate we need 30 to handle everything. Because we're short admins, a lot of things don't get done. For a new site, I want to have at least 30 for devcoin plus 20 ready to go on the new site. I asked you, Jasin, and Emfox to grab the domains now, because coin domains are being snapped up today. I don't know if or when we'll be able to start new sites, but we can certainly afford to hold the domain names.

Would anyone mind if I made a Facebook event to get people interested in Devtome?
I'm not sure what it would be yet... If anyone has any ideas let me know. I'm thinking something like... "Official Public Grande Opening" or "Writers Month" promoting a month of creative writing, and the support of that creative writing all sometime early next year.
What do ya'll think?

I think it could be helpful. Cross-promote to places like Reddit too.

I made the facebook event for Devtome, have not added any links to the actual site yet, so that it doesn't seem like spam. For now it is just a creative writing event Eventually it will be a creative writing event, with tons of links to Devtome pages, as well as offers for people to get paid for creative writing on Devtome. https://www.facebook.com/events/578546728875825Please join if you have a facebook page, I have over 1,000 people to invite, but I promise that is not enough. I always wish I had more people that would invite friends whenever I find a good event, because my 1,000 just doesn't do enough. edit: I added one link

Screw my old idea about making a creative writing month, I was on Google and found the PERFECT place to plug Devtome. There is something called "NanoWrimo" (National Novel Writers Month). It's a website that promotes the writing of novels from Nov. 1st-Nov. 30th. If you want to be considered a "winner" you have to write 50,000 words in 30 days... So when I saw that, I was like... THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE POSTING THEIR WORK TO DEVTOME!!! The website DOES NOT keep rights to your work, they PROMOTE the idea of you going and doing something to make money with your writing. So I made a Facebook event. Please Join, once we get closer to November I'll start advertising Devtome, which will also be incentive for writers to join the contest. https://www.facebook.com/events/1419152101639312/Plus, Nano wrimo has forums, and writing events all year round. So there is an entire online community of people writing and giving each other publishing advice. And I think Devtome will fit right in Teachers might even hear about it this way Imagine if someone told their students "There is a website where you can get paid to do your homework... Devtome.".

I did that last year! My novel was pretty bad though. Some of the people on there are published authors! By the way, I've been doing some promoting on the forums and I made a post to get some of those bounties going: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295505.0

By the way, I have 4 DVC vanity addresses if anyone wants them. Free for Devtome users.
PM me and I'll send your private key. Make sure you add a passphrase after importing it to make sure I'm locked out.
1DVCdwKzRyKjGYaywJHFxJU4jhxdMoTaaf 1DEvCoiNq1JDjfYmDFKdQmcWLPf7CyALZM 1DVcUmFCgNdU5gAcXh1FUMhkALDqF9PwS4 12hpEUNQAGf4Bqi2DVC8oH4p3ARahFYH6Z
Tell me which one you want and I'll edit this entry. I can do others as a way to promote DVC. Just ask.
