Gastelum almost bombed on the weigh-ins Smiley he got it on the second try. Saidyokub Kakhramonov missed the limit. I wouldn't be surprised if Gastelum missed it completely, If I am not mistaking, he has had issues before.

Heh yeah...  It’s prolly just a botched weight cut and it does not really show where his mind is at rn.  It’s pretty obvious that he tried making the weight with just being .25 lbs over.

Anyway here are the weigh ins and the face offs.

UFC Vegas 34:  Face offs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVqdbKOMzU4
It does mean on the night he is prolly going to be a lot heavier than Cannonier which could help with the wrestling and maybe that is his plan. I still think Cannonier will knock him out he is getting old and looked unmotivated in the weigh ins which I think he might retire after this fight. He did not look like he was enjoying it and going in with that mentality is a spell for disaster.

I am getting ready for this fight card starting in few hours but one news got my attention and that is title fight rematch Aljamain Sterling vs Petr Yan I was waiting to happen since they last been in octagon together and that is signed for UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi for end of October, and this will probably be the main event.
It's enough with Sterling parading as fake champion, taking pictures, interviews and signing sponsorship deals. Smiley

A lot of bad calls during the preliminary round (2/6) LOL but I'm doing well in the main card with 3 out of 4 so far.

I'm not so confident on Kelvin after almost missing weight. Ha has a good gas tank but he probably won't take advantage of that now.

Let him enjoy and milk it while he can. Almost everyone in the UFC would be doing the same thing Grin

7 wins for 12 fights it's not a bad score in MMA, I don't think you would have reached such a rate if you had picked your winners by tossing a coin. I didn't check all the odds but theoretically you could be in profit even if you have placed the same stake on all the fights thanks to the low vigorish on UFC fights.

from the previous matchup ..
i would say for upcoming main event Gastelum vs Cannonier  , i would say that Cannonier will win via TKO by round 3.

it will be an easy fight and easy money .  have $1k on Cannonier  , with additional 2x payout from stake.

I surely respect your decision and that is your money so you can surely do whatever you want with it, and did you put the winning method or your betting with 1x2? just curious and you seem pretty sure with your choices, anyway I will be looking forward to Jared Cannonier winning, but if Kelvin Gastelum wins surely all that bet for him will have a good night sleep because of the odds,

My other picks in this event

Main Card

Mark Madsen
Chase Sherman
Trevin Jones
Austin Hubbard
Alexandre Pantoja

Preliminary Card

Luis Saldana
Brian Kelleher
Josiane Nunes
William Knight
Roosevelt Roberts
Ramiz Brahimaj
Be careful if you can bet on a draw like in "1x2" bets, odds won't be the same anymore... The main markets in MMA betting don't allow to bet on a draw.

but i thought that Stake got options that 'accept odds changes' / ' no odds change ' when betting ?

well , it was extremely close game for Gastelum vs Cannonier, surprised me that gastelum able to put out such a close fight .

What do you mean exactly? They won't add a third option to an open market just because some bettors have accepted odds changes. Where have you seen that? In fixed odds markets, the odds of your bet never change once the bet has been accepted by the bettor and the bookmaker, it's like a contract between the two parties. The feature you're referring to allows you to accept odds changes between the entry of your stake in the betslip form and its sending. If you choose to not accept odds changes, your bet will be rejected if odds have changed during this time. You can choose "Accept Any Odds" or "Accept Only Higher Odds" otherwise. It's mostly useful for live bets.

Like I said earler, everything was pointing that Cannonier will win this fight and that happened, but I see Gastelum now saying that he think that he was the winner in that fight.
All referees made same decision but stats are showing that Gastelum had more significant and total strikes, proving once again that this is not main factor that makes winners and champions.
Cannonier had more strikes that landed in Gastelum's head, and my opinion is that both of this fighters are not championship level anymore.

When there is something to contest, they will contest despite how final the decision is. We as spectators see the whole fight which we can also judge who had done meaningful hits.

If Gastelum contested base on the stats, this could be just to get a rematch if Dana will grant. All I can say is that it's not a very exciting fight, they'd have to prove they could deliver exciting fights again.

Well thanks, actually I really love making research and analyzing each fighter before concluding a pick, and you are right if I have bet on all 12 fights I could really make a profit out of it, but because of my reluctant in making a move, I only put 3 bets on it, the Jared Cannonier VS Kelvin Gastelum, Clay Guida VS Mark Madsen, and Bea Malecki VS Josiane Nunes matches, I surely never thought that I could get 7 out of 12 because we surely don't see the future and just giving speculations of what we think may happen, but thanks for the encouragement I will sure bet small portion each next event.

Like I said earler, everything was pointing that Cannonier will win this fight and that happened,
Israel vs. Jared looks like a better draw than Israel vs. Kelvin 2.

but I see Gastelum now saying that he think that he was the winner in that fight.
Can't blame Kelvin for that given the 3 rounds to 2 in all the judges score card.

All referees made same decision but stats are showing that Gastelum had more significant and total strikes, proving once again that this is not main factor that makes winners and champions.
Cannonier had more strikes that landed in Gastelum's head,
Unfortunately for him, stats are for post-fight analysis and we cannot expect the judges to count everything before they score each round. Even if the scoring was based on the entirety of the fight, he would have still lost.

To be honest, I thought it was 4 rounds to 1 in favor of Cannonier.

I surely don't hate any new prospect to the UFC and regarding newcomers and underdogs we can sure see their potentials when they step inside the octagon, and any notable fight here in my opinion is the main event, Edwin Barboza age 35 surely establish his 22 wins since 2010 mostly on UFC if not with a decision and a few TKO/KO wins, but Giga Chikadze age 32 started in UFC in 2019 mostly a lot of impressive TKO/KO and establish not that bad of a record in his kickboxing career, I surely love to see this and what may happen with their bout will research deeply again and give my picks when I do.

Speaking about new prospects. During Cannonier vs. Gastelum event, Saidyokub Kakhramonov showed a very nice fight. That was his UFC debut fight. Ignacio Bahamondes also impressed me with a high kick. I think it will be on KO tops for a good time. In general, this event was one of those, where I liked prelims more than main card.

Kakhramonov could be someone that could shine given the right circumstances, but UFC tends to butcher their prospects so it all comes down to the UFC brass recognising his potential and having a solid plan to not kill him immediately. Anyway, solid fighter so far.

Barboza is a gate keeper now but he’s still an elite UFC fighter.  He’ll be a good litmus test for any hyped prospect trying to get in the top 5 at 145.  At first glance I think a lot of people backing Chikadze will be in for a reality check.  But then again he could really be brilliant.  We’ll see...

UFC Vegas 35 Free Fight:  Barboza vs Burgos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbby1ijNVPM

Anyway I’ll try to make a stat sheet for the UFC and football to better visualize the data. I will share it here asap.

I love the prospect of upcoming UFC event Barboza vs Chikadze and I am still unsure how to pick the winner here, odds are almost equal but I am slightly leaning towards Chikadze.
Chikadze overall attitude is great, he was begging Dana White to give him some fight for months, and I think this fight is perfect for him.
Both fighters have very similar stats but Barboza advantage is more experience, he is better ranked, but his record is showing that he can lose a fight and there are holes in his game.
I am going to wait for weight-ins and interviews before making any bets here.

Yes, I remember Trevin Jones VS Saidyokub Kakhramonov, where Kakhramonov has a pretty long name to be forgotten real quick, at fight I thought that Saidyokub doesn't have any strength, and hanging on to Trevin for a long period of time he surely has a great grip, and that Guillotine choke was very impressive I will surely take that on the note

Anyway I’ll try to make a stat sheet for the UFC and football to better visualize the data. I will share it here asap.

I Will keep that in mind but in the meantime, I am still doing thorough research on Barboza now and comparing him to Chikadze and what may happen inside the ring, and even giving a background check on other fighters in this event, but I should admit Edwin Barboza had a ton of experience to be the gatekeeper indeed.

It appears we have another pretty fighting kitten for this event hehehe. Her name is Vanessa Demopoulos, she was a confirmed exotic dancer before she became an MMA fighter. She is very flexible and she likes to do high wide kicks!

I will mix that beauty with something more topic related Cheesy That kitten is a real tiger. Not many will return into sport after getting that kind of damage.
