Who is following Dana's contender series? If you have picks, please drop some insights. I just felt bored because the next fight night will be happening in two weeks Grin

~
I don't know how his career will go from here on, but I wouldn't completely count him out just yet.
No doubt he still has the power and the striking skills to KO anyone. Maybe he should try to evolve his game? I think he still has time to develop a more well-rounded style.

Right now I am just relying on the news for sources on the contenders series, and right now the next contender series will be

WEEK 2
DWCS 2021: Week 2 live stream, channel guide, fight card
Date: Sept. 9, 2021

Live stream: ESPN+

Fight card:

Welterweight  – Logan Urban vs. Josh Quinlan
Middleweight – Mario Sousa vs. Chidi Njokuani
Bantamweight  – Saimon Oliveira vs. Jose Alday
Flyweight – CJ Vergara vs. Bruno “Korea” Rodrigues Mesquita
Bantamweight – Muin Gafurov vs. Chad Anheliger

I am not familiar with the fighters but will do a little research on them the match will be on Sept. of 9 but the fight that I have seen so far was Logan Urban also known as Hulk and have recently won against Antoine Blassingame in the 2nd round with a knee to the chin of Blassingame.

No idea who these guys are but you could do a tape study thru MMA Core and check the measurables and their records at Tapology.  I tend to trust the bookies lines here and avoid looking for value since they have more info than the general public with these obscure fighters.  So what I’d do is parlay the huge favorites.

This was a great win for Derek Brunson just like I expected, it was pure gift from bookies with that odds, and I was even happier getting double win promotion for betting on Stake. Smiley
I think that start of this fight night was young UK fighter Paddy Pimblett with KO win in first round against Luigi Vendramini.
This week we are taking a break from UFC but Dana's White Contender Series keeps rolling gout with new fights and potentially new UFC fighters.

Logan Urban VS Josh Quinlan

For me, if you really want to go with the contender match, I would really not suggest getting on to it, if there is not much information about the fighter then it is really OK if you would not bet on it, but after short research and looking at others prediction, Josh Quinlan is the favorite here, in some picks that I watch, I could say Urban is a striker here and in his MMA debut he's pretty good on takedown defense for a striker that is the bread and butter for fighters that wants the fight to the ground, and Josh Quinlan is a mix but he could definitely wrestle a bit, but I can not say for sure if Quinlan is stronger than Urban because if Quinlan is much stronger than Urban then Urban's takedown defense is nothing and vice versa if Urban would be stronger for Quinlan, Quinlan takedowns will be a walk in the park, If I would pick on one of Dana's Contender I would go with Logan Urban, he is pretty good with takedown defense and could defend Quinlan's takedown.

Vegas-38 "Darren Till vs. Derek Brunson" very exciting match, By winning this match Derek Brunson won five matches in a row. He also won the title of the second-highest finishes in the history of the UFC's middleweight division. I am just amazed that He is preceded only by Anderson Silva.

In "Paddy Pimblett vs Luigi Vendramini", You know, I was sure that Paddy Pimblett would win this match and so it happened. In the first round, Paddy Pimblett won by knockout. Cheesy

I am glad i missed the entire fight card, if not i would have picked Darren Till to win the fight. I think it is time for him to think about moving down in weight as 185 pound division looks like a big challenge for Darren Till and exposed his weakness on the ground.

Paddy Pimblett is looking to be the next Conor McGregor and i laughed at the way in which Michael Bisping and Paddy Pimblett talked in the ring after the fight about him getting rocked bad and then coming back  Grin.

Uf, I wouldn't go so far as saying Pimblet could be the next Conor. Looking for it, yes, but there is a clear discrepancy in performance, execution, and technique between Pimblet and early Conor. Conor knew how to hid his flaws back then very well, where Pimmbplet seems to be banking on showing those holes and then somehow miraculously ending up as a victor every time.

^  I thought that was gonna be this weekend.  Had to check the date in the calender.  Lol.  But at least there’s football and F1.  I’m always looking forward in getting a chance to hit that 10k grand prize for free in FJ’s Majestic 7 promo.

This was a great win for Derek Brunson just like I expected, it was pure gift from bookies with that odds, and I was even happier getting double win promotion for betting on Stake. Smiley

If only he would moderate his appetite and sign the contract  Smiley

Btw, the desired match between Paddy Pimblett and Paulo Costa is far away, as Paulo Costa will face Marvin Vettori on October 23, 2021 at UFC Fight Night 196.

I dont think that UFC will throw Paddy Pimblett on someone from the top15 in his next fights. He is still to young to go against such experienced dudes.

The UFC Vegas 36 fight that took place Sunday between Khalil Rountree Jr vs Modestas Bukauskas, was really quite exciting and also terrible in my opinion, at the beginning of the fight the two fighters both responded to each other attacks, however, a hard blow from Rountree was able to destroy Bukaukas nose in first round, I thought the second round would be a revenge round for Bukaukas but unfortunately the fight ended quite horribly in the second round due to the foot stomping technique from Rountree, to be honest I was very surprised by the technique that was quite terrible and it was clear that Bukaukas leg was injured quite badly.

I’m always looking forward in getting a chance to hit that 10k grand prize for free in FJ’s Majestic 7 promo.
Sorry, I reserved Majestic 7 winning spot this time Smiley
Last time I won five correct goal scorers but that was not majestic enough for me.

But I guess he should go against either Cannonier or prolly Paulo Costa first...  Two intruiging matches.
Both of them are lower level compared to Adesanya and I don't see anyone who can threaten champ from this guys, maybe we are going to see some new blood in middleweight soon.

That Sidekick to the knee is really not new, there are other fighters that are executing such kicks you surely haven't notice it because now there is a bad injury and for Modestas Bukauskas, a lot are saying that this is a career-ending injury but in my opinion, it is a bad injury but there is still a percentage of returning back, many are doing this example is with the Robert Whittaker VS Israel Adesanya fight when Whittaker throw it but Adesanya evade it then counter with a high kick, notice how fast Adesanya execute that high kick that is because when this sidekick failed to be executed there is a lot of opportunities for the opponent to counter,

So my take on this kind of technique that many people want to ban, I really don't agree to ban this kick, I think if you ban this kick then ban a strike or attack that will cause brain damage that can be life-threatening for a fighter an injury to the shoulder, back, neck or strike to the vitals punches and kicks to the neck should also be ban in the UFC that can cause serious damage and can even potentially end a life, well just my opinion.

indeed the fight at the UFC is a brutal fight and has many techniques to defeat opponents, UFC is a sport that triggers adrenaline for those who participate and see it, but as a sporting event of course there must be rules made by the UFC to ensure the safety of its athletes competing, such as technical The technique used by Rountree in that fight, although not lethal but clearly the technique can be very damaging if it hits the target, I think this technique is very feasible to be banned because it is very dangerous for the opponent like the technique that has been shown by Wanderlei Silva, namely the Soccer Kick (techniqu stepping on the opponent while on the floor).

Not new at all, both JBJ and Anderson Silva have used them with great success. When JBJ started to cause damage that's when talks about should it be allowed and is it sportsmanlike were started, but not much has changed. It's not something that is used often but it really is a career killer.

That Soccer kick needed to be banned because ultimately the opponent is on the floor and pretty much just like a knee and kick when the opponent is near the steel cage that may knock them because the cage can end up in a disqualification, all I am saying they can surely ban that sidekick on the knee or leg my point is there are a lot of moves in the MMA that is more life-threatening if they would Ban a move and this keeps repeating and over and over up to there would only just be punching and kicking, well this is just my opinion, they can protest to sure ban a move then they should just watch boxing instead, this is just my opinion.

Career killer or not there is a lot of disputes and I am just adding my opinion, if they would gladly ban this move and I am not against it then ban all moves that are pretty much life-threatening to a fighter but I surely approve of banning soccer kicks and I will not dispute over in banning this move as well, but I am just sharing my thought.

I think the effect will be the same, namely being able to destroy other people careers and maybe even being able to kill someone's life, even though ufc is a tough sport, but at least the fighters do use techniques that can paralyze opponents but do not have long lasting fatal effects.

yes also think like that, and of course the UFC doesn't have to wait for a victim of that dangerous technique first and only then they ban it and of course it's too late in my opinion, I think now the ufc has become a public spectacle, so they should implement the strict rules about whether a technique can be used or not.

Its clear foot-stomping technique, though it is although not very popular to be honest but it's honestly nothing new. We have seen a lot of fighters use it. I still remember the Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal fight where Kamaru Usman did a lot of damage to Masvidal's feet by stomping on his fingers consistently. And about the fight of Khalil Rountree Jr vs Modestas Bukauskas, it is really hard to come back from a short on the face like that. In that situation, he has to always be careful about his nose because if he gets touched in the same spot again it's almost done for him. And I think Rountree took advantage of that. As Bukauskas was much more worried for his nose, Rountree went for his legs. And sidekicks are just fine in my opinion. All the other rules I think are also fine. Because as an MMA fighter you are expected to check those kicks.

Big news for UFC and middleweight category is that kickboxing champion Alex Pereira signed a deal with UFC!
He is 34 years old coming from Brazil and his first UFC fight will be in November against Andreas Michailidis in UFC 268 Usman vs Covington 2.
This fight card is going to be epic with more fights like Rose Namajunas vs Weili Zhang, Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler, Al Iaquinta vs Bobby Green and others.
I knew UFC was looking for fresh blood in middleweight division to challenge Adesanya, so they are looking in all directions now, but I am not sure if Pereira will be good enough.

Well, as an MMA fight I think you are expecting bad things may happen and you really need to be prepared in any situation, many fighters have always evaded stomping kicks like that because of their awareness, and it is always part of the fight, and if you are an MMA fighter you would understand the consequence and they surely know that anything may happen inside the ring, it can be prevented and it is really not that very common to have injuries like that.

Yup! Exactly and it is not really common for fighters to be injured by that kind of technique and I think this is the first time where a career-ending injury happen, I don't want to say that Modestas Bukauskas is a fragile fighter but being injured like that, and I really don't blame him and felt sorry on what happened.
