A really good performance by the Indian women has been seen in the ODI's so far. I really thought that England women would be able to make a comeback in the second ODI. Nevertheless, it was a good job done by India to win the series with one match left in it. I think India is not going to give too much importance to the last match. The improvement of the Indian women's team in the one-day international series has actually surprised me quite a bit. Moreover, I am of the opinion that this would be one of the best platforms for BCCI to be able to arrange a WIPL in the future. We have seen the dominance of the New Zealand women's team against the West Indies women's team in the first match of the series. The West Indies women's team had a very poor performance against New Zealand's bowlers. New Zealand won the previous match very easily.
In the second match too, New Zealand's players managed to maintain their dominance. The West Indies women's team managed to give a target of only 170 runs in 50 overs. At least I thought they would provide more than 200 targets. New Zealand women's team does not seem to face any problem winning with such a low run target. Yes, considering the current women's performance and potential, the decision to organize WIPL is being taken. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has already ordered all concerned to prepare for the WIPL. He will organize it in early February or March next year. In the meantime, he has already informed the state units through email. These details will be officially released in the next few days.

WIPL could've been started long back, but BCCI isn't showing interest for different reasons. The major thing, it might make people loss interest over IPL. Second thing, the board isn't ready to spend on women which is a bad attitude.

Ater more voice out of the people, often we get information that WIPL will be launched soon. Just think, no men cricketer have opened their mouth stating the need of WIPL. This means there is something hidden.

It did play some part but that wasn't the main reason or at least big one.

IMO if that was the case then these girls should've gotten the WIPL back in 2017, when they reached the 50 overs WC Final. Although they lost but they earned the respect back home due to their campaign and people started talking or following the Indian Women team.

BCCI on the other hand was not even trying to get things done and kept making excuses. One can imagine their attitude that they didn't even hand out their WC prize money in a timely manner. According to me, things started moving fast when PCB expressed its desire to start WPCL and it created a lot of pressure on BCCI.

Financially it doesn't make much sense for the BCCI to host the matches outside India. They will lose massive amounts of gate collection. And the government will also be against the idea, given all the tax revenues and jobs that can be created during the tournament. But one thing is sure for me. Even the BCCI guys will be astounded with the revenues that the WIPL will bring. These oldies are still thinking that women's cricket in India is still stuck in the 1990s. It has moved ahead in lightning speed (even more than the men's game).
