Power wise, yes. S4 uses 1400W PSU. the connector wise, please open the case and compare. There are PCI-E version and the Round Screw connector types out there. Will a evga 1600w 80 plus platinum work as a replacement for the S4. My S4 hasn't died yet but I have the power supply already from a past pc build as backup. I dont mind it sitting outside the case.

BitmainWarrenty, could you comment on my previous post please? Bitmain, when can we expect a new firmware update to re-enable voltage control? The last update killed voltage control. I'd use the previous Oct 16th if I needed it right away, but the latest firmware is much more stable. With summer coming I'll be wanting to underclock and undervolt, along with many others I'm sure. Please make sure that all 4 hash boards respond to voltage settings, previous firmware only controlled 3 of them while the forth was stuck at 0750.
Thanks

I had the psu before I got the miner. It was in a PC build I did last year I took it out when I sold my Titans and got 980's. I'll open up the S4 when I get home to see which one I have. I hope its the pci-e one then I can re purpose the psu I have if not Ill sell it and get the one I need. Right now it's mining away at stock freq and haven't given me any problems so far.

Should we interpret the fact that you're ignoring my question as bitmain has no plans to fix the broken firmware?

Not to mention Bitmain could just come out and tell us who (or who not) to buy from instead of going all abstract as usual. All it was missing was some suggestive emoticons to fit the bill as of late.

I have two identical miners with the following config
Antminer S4 Hostname antMiner Model GNU/Linux Hardware Version 3.4.3.0 Kernel Version Linux 3.8.13 #12 SMP Mon Sep 29 11:13:50 CST 2014 File System Version Thu Oct 16 15:58:23 CST 2014 Cgminer Version 4.6.1 Uptime 1 Load Average 1.21, 0.33, 0.11
I'm trying to get it to run at 1850GHZ or so using 1.81MHZ and .0680V and 1050W ( following the chart on previous pages) but when I check the wattge from the wall its pulling 1180W and only running at 1700GHZ
any ideas ?
Right now I'm stuck at stock speeds of 2000GHZ and its pulling nearly 1350 from the wall which is a lot of heat generated
temps are in the 44-49s at night and 50-55 close duing the day

Well... I've gone thru another bunch of fans for my S4s. Going to put in a request for replacement fans with Bitmain, but having taken one apart, it looks like they should be repairable. Has anyone tried to figure out what size the retaining ring is that holds the fan spindle. It looks like all these fans are failing similarly. The ring pops off, probably due to wear. I'm assuming it's metric. Looks like 3mm. Just FYI, the second image shows the existing retaining ring popped back onto the spindle but it seems a bit loose and will probably pop off again. I'm guessing the ring has worn down a bit, just enough to let it pop off. See attached pics.

Thanks! I just sent an email. Was hoping to try repairing these myself so I don't have to keep bugging you guys with fan replacement requests. Seems the ring might be a 3mm? I've ordered 100 rings. If they are the right size, I should be set for a while

the new S4 firmware looks like it is taking the Frequency to voltage change without a restart tested with a WEMo at the wall. Voltage went from 1400+ at 220 0725v to around 1300 at 187.5 setting FREQ voltage at 0686
