1002  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: clock speed on s7 ; safe to overclock? on: December 25, 2017, 11:07:23 PM
My PSU says 1600w.

Well the S7 is around 1250-1300w so you re already close to maxing out your psu. Is it ATX or server psu?

If its ATX then I wouldnt push it anymore. If its a server psu then i would increase the freq one step at a time and use a kill-a-watt type power monitor device on the electrical outlet socket to monitor power consumption. Personally I wouldnt go more than 1400w on a 1600w psu.

Look exactly the same. Just a different chinese brand.

Checkout my thread here:-

Its the same thing just a different manufacturer. Two common slot psus in a case with some sort of circuitry fixed inside the case.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Fans exhausting or feeding your cards? on: December 25, 2017, 09:27:03 PM
So guys, this question is related to you giys who have a frame with fans infront of the gpus. When i say infront i mean at the end of the card with the hdmi connections etc.

Which way round have you found gives better cooling? Fans blowing cool air towards the cards or trying to pull the warm air away from the cards?

Obviously the blower style cards would benefit from the exhausting orientation but what about dual/triple fan cards?

Yet again someone trying to scam people.  Roll Eyes
1007  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: clock speed on s7 ; safe to overclock? on: December 25, 2017, 07:50:31 PM
All depends what the power draw is at each overclock and the size of your psu. Cant give advice if we havent got all the details  Wink
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Current best powered risers available? on: December 25, 2017, 07:21:47 PM
I expect more from Hero and members. Use search. It's on the manufacturers website, Want more proof contact manf.

Manufacturers in any line of business always exaggerate facts and figures. Proof is from someone (not associated with the manufacturers and unbiased) showing results from making independant tests.

Say i was a manufacturer building a new asic that could mine any coin and only use 100w for 100Th.  If i put details on my website with fake tables and graphs and you read that, would you believe me? No you wouldnt. You would ask for proof from someone (or an independant company) that could backup the manufacturers claims.

Mintrcell are a good brand. Avoid the sata only powered ones if you can. And avoid using sata to 6pin adaptors too.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Current best powered risers available? on: December 25, 2017, 06:11:45 PM
I like Molex riser from Mintcell. And as I know riser ver.008 consumes lower 5W than ver.006.
So if you really care about power or difficult to make power plan, you could consider this. Also, I've just saw someone said riser ver.009 is available now, but I havent tested it yet.

You got any proof about the ver008 using less power?
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: M.2 to PCIe Adaptor on: December 25, 2017, 05:03:26 PM
Works fine on both Biostar TB250 and Asus Z270-A

Yea but do they need to be powered at the m.2 end or just the regular power at the 16x end?
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: M.2 to PCIe Adaptor on: December 25, 2017, 12:33:35 PM
They have arrived and just wondering do i need to power the m.2 itself seeing as the 16x riser will be the one with the additional power?

Take a look at the Amazon UK Link, it clearly shows two HP 1200w Server PSUs NOT cheap chinese crap. Its the case im more interested it. Its just a housing to hold two common slot psu’s.

Hey guys,

Just curious but has anyone used one of these before?

Looks like a great idea but it doesnt really give much detail about the cabling or internal components.

Dude!!! Switch it to onboard graphics and plug your monitor into the hdmi on your mobo and LEAVE IT ALONE. You shouldnt be plugging and unplugging cables of any description from a computer thats running!!

not true. its just fine to unplug the monitor and then plug it back in when you need too. goes the same with anything usb. only some noob would say you shouldn't be plugging and unplugging cables of any description from a computer that's running. news flash man theres lots of cables that can be unplugged and plugged back in and be just fine, monitor cable being one of them

Roll Eyes here we go.....my point was, what is the point of risking upsetting anything, if its running with the monitor plugged in then just leave it alone. Or as a couple of us have suggested switch to onboard graphics so he is not using the cards at all.

Looks good. Miles better than I thought it would have. Actially looks better for getting access than the ones with the power at the back of the riser
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore mining problem - 50$ BTC reward on: December 24, 2017, 05:16:23 PM
In the bios switch primary display to “integrated graphics” run by the cpu/mobo. Then see whats going on with it.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASUS 1070 Dual OC really bad hash rate on: December 24, 2017, 03:58:52 PM
How did remote desktop affect it? A mis read or running it caused the hashrate drop?
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Current best powered risers available? on: December 24, 2017, 11:21:36 AM
Coboc or Mintcell "version 8" with the 3 power connector option is my preference at this time, as I've yet to find a good MOLEX only riser that I don't have to wait a month for China shipment for.

Had a batch of those Weitec (probably misspelled) same-type risers that 3 of 6 were BAD out of - definitely avoid.

Have you got a picture of these risers fitted with a gpu? It looks really tight for a power connector down that side.
