I don't think XP is supported anymore... If you want to keep it, I'd try and install SP3 if you haven't done so.

Don't do things you're embarrassed about?
Pretty much sums everything up... If one is going to a strip club it's because there's no issue in going. If there are issues, someone's doing it wrong... So it's 2000$ in BTC today or being exposed any way or another tomorrow. One can't live a double life forever. As for the news itself... People are always going to find a way or another to profit with Bitcoin, Euro, Dollar, Yuan... and so on.

Official information goes here. If there's anything to add it will be there (so you can spare yourself from reading troll threads ). And yes, your coins are most likely gone for good.

Face recognition? That's old... Retina scan is the future. That would be a good idea to implement on a Bitcoin client. Not on the competition obviously, they can have face recognition all they want

I also like to see transactions as they happen. Impressive how much money flows instantly, throughout the world and with negligible fees That address is probably from BTCC

Not even on purpose, I just read this thread a few minutes ago... Interesting thread. I have often thought there is an element of social engineering going on with btc and the community. The infighting and indecisiveness certainly does not help btc. I am suspect though of a post that talks about the death of btc while propping up ETH. Social engineering definitely plays a role, especially in what concerns BTC markets. Social engineers make the waves and markets follow, out of fear or manipulation. Not even on purpose, I just read this thread a few minutes ago... bullshit, people forget that bitcoin was alive since the beginning when there was only satoshi experimenting with it it's basically impossible to kill, no matter what you do at best you could depreciate its value also ETH is not a competitor, the coin itself does not offer anything new against bitcoin, and the platform can be used with bitcoin too if they want to integrate it Not bullshit. Some people are actively trying to hinder Bitcoin. It is noticeable in this forum and in mainstream media. Also sometimes on cryptocurrency media... Bitcoin is indeed alive and ETH is not competition: people are simply using ETH to bash at Bitcoin... There are too many flaws here to begin with. 1) Bitcoin is not dead, it is peaking with adoption. 2) Decentralized != fail. 3) Promoting an altcoin (Ethereum). 4) Bitcoin and Ethereum are not comparable. 5) Ethereum is not dedicated to moving and validating money, it is more of a complex blockchain based contract mechanism. Not even on purpose, I just read this thread a few minutes ago... It's just a coincidence, right? Quoted for truth... And yeah, what an interesting coincidence.

Rumor has it that they will accept BTC really soon... I highly doubt it, but let's see I think it would be an amazing addition. I'd definitely be spending more on Steam with Bitcoin.

A "heavy duty" node is a node with lots of RAM and nice bandwidth... There's not much else to it A fast SSD and a nice processor also help.

You can share a brainwallet/seed with whoever you want. You can also use a wallet file from Bitcoin Core on different installs (as long as you either do offline transactions only or send the file back and forth between you and your partner)

What is the status of Armory? The website has been offline for a long time now.

no sticky for this? seems so underwhelmeing, i was expecting more enthusiasm for the 0.12, maybe still not officially released?
Yes, it's already released, binaries just weren't created so far but one can build it from source. And it doesn't need a stick, there's a place on top of every forum page with a download link Which I'm sure theymos will update when binaries are avaliable, or when he has time.

Small miners do it all the time. Big miners might reserve some energy resources for altcoins if the gamble pays off in short-term. Both will never completely leave Bitcoin, I think, especially the big miners which will always have most of their stake on Bitcoin. That being said, I highly doubt altcoin mining will have a surge of people after the halving.

Markets disregard forums... Markets go wherever they want whenever they need to Just like news don't move markets... people make markets move when they see news.

Can't afford to pay with all those Bitcoins allegedly mined on customers machines? Wow...

You can check if it is really congested or not using Statoshi. Nothing better than touching a sensitive topic with data directly from the network.

Pine64 is sold out. 64+ and 64+ 2GB look really interesting and at a good price point and would definitely run a node... What I'm wondering is about the community support... I guess I'll eventually order one of these things to fiddle with nevertheless Waiting for reviews first, tho... But I am guessing that the Pine64 is in pre-order and not officially released yet, right? If that is the case, then maybe there would be more of them in stock later. I would certainly love to own one, especially the one with 2GB of RAM. It will make the ideal one for a full BTC node. Pine64 is released but sold out. 64+ and 64+ 2GB are unreleased and on pre order as you can see on their website. (Talked about how bad stocks of Pine64 are... But Zero's are also virtually nonexistent at this point) Mine is shipping early March, plan to try to get P2Pool running on it, we will see I'll be posting about it in the P2Pool thread when it arrives... I believe they plan to ship 5k of them a month starting in March. Pretty curious about that! Keep us posted

I don't think the Pi Zero will be capable, but if it is, it will be a very limited node due to the amount of RAM (and the need for something to interact as an Ethernet card through USB). If you're buying a Pi Zero to make a node, I'd say you would be wasting your money. You might as well buy a Pi B 2.
Thanks for sharing your advice. I already own a RPi B 2, but it is being used for other purposes. Just wanted something much smaller to carry around easier and set it as a node, but I guess it could not be possible due to the specs. I will have a go at the Pine A64 since it is much more powerful. It might not be smaller but at least it can keep up with its task. Pine64 is sold out. 64+ and 64+ 2GB look really interesting and at a good price point and would definitely run a node... What I'm wondering is about the community support... I guess I'll eventually order one of these things to fiddle with nevertheless Waiting for reviews first, tho...
