1481  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance CZ sued on: March 28, 2023, 04:16:39 PM
Binance CEO Zhao and his COO got sued by CTFC ( commodity futures and trading commission ) , why won't these people just leave this man alone?  Angry also is this why the market is currently crashing? These people mean CZ and I hope this guy will move out of the US for good, those people are just still mad with what he did with FTX, many secrets came to the light and many aren't too happy about it.

No need to be worried about such a large centralized exchange owner. He has more than enough money that even if he were to lose in court, he would not even miss the comparably tiny amount of money he would have to pay up as a penalty. Binance can recover that loss within a short amount of time. Worst case scenario, Binance would have to delist a lot of shitcoins that nobody should be buying anyway.

I really do not see neither a positive nor a negative side for Bitcoin in all of this.

I would never trust any centralized service, especially a centralized exchange anyway. CEX's are basically almost always shady business models anyway.
1482  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: fellas be careful from this kind of scams! - READ on: March 28, 2023, 03:06:19 PM
Hey!

So this guy started a thread requesting "help" with bumping his so-called withdrawal!

https://i.imgur.com/1GoolWa.png

Not providing TX-ID or anything.

1) He finds a reply of a big win
2) He advertises the "casino name" in the thread
3) He is self-moderating the thread

Once you click the casino name, it gives you the option to "connect your wallet" once you connect your wallet, your funds are 100% lost.

A simple click bait scam.

I warned others, my reply got removed and thread has been closed.

Rather than only connect they also add in a permission to do whatever they like and if you give them that permission, they can take any funds in your wallet. If you are a curious person who wants to try anyway, despite knowing its 99.99% definitely a scam, then at the very least use a new and empty wallet. But it would be better not to give any permissions at all, in my opinion. Nobody needs to connect to your wallet to send you crypto. All they need is to know is your public wallet address.

Anything that seems too good to be true, probably is. Just remember that the next time you or anyone else makes 200k in winnings.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evidence that I actually invested for my baby on: March 27, 2023, 08:54:41 PM
Few days a go, I made a thread on the topic "early bitcoin investment for my baby" I got some comments saying I should show evidence showing I actually invested the money.

Here is the evidence: https://imgur.com/a/3Xr9pJq

I invested the $50 and even more from my little savings and from what I got from what well wishers gave to my baby.
I will be putting money in the wallet from time to time too.

Thank you all for the congratulatory messages. I really do appreciate. 🤗

I am not sure why you need to post evidence that you invested 50 dollars into your child's future but ok, I guess?

Also, for future reference, us coiners do not accept an image as evidence. If you want to to show us evidence, I recommend showing us your wallet address and signing with your private key. Message signing is how us coiners prove ownership of our crypto address.

That way, everyone and anyone can verify the authenticity of your transaction.

Trust but verify Cheesy

Although again, I doubt anyone is demanding proof from you that you invested 50 dollars. And I don't think anyone would see a point in doubting you even if you did not provide proof...
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about this? on: March 27, 2023, 05:26:35 PM
When some people ask questions about gambling, such as "Can someone can make a living through gambling? I don't like to engage in such conversations because those who doubt that gambling can change someone's life are usually those who have gambled and failed multiple times or those who don't really know gambling strategies.

Recently, a Uganda pastor who won 100million shillings decided to shut down his ministry. This left me with several questions in my head, such as ' Do religious leaders gamble? Is it right for religious leaders to gamble? Knowing fully well that most of them preach against gambling in their religious places. What is the ethical and moral implications of gambling, particularly in the context of religious practices and beliefs?

News source:
https://www.reubenabati.com.ng/news/pastor-shuts-down-church-after-winning-n100m-sports-bet

I do not know if there is any religion which would condone gambling but as far as I know, they all are against gambling one way or another. Gambling is also punished more or less severely, depending on the person's religion. So any religious leader who gambles or condones gambling is probably not a real religious leader but rather a cultist or, more likely, a scam artist.

Obviously there needs to be more investigations into such people but in countries which are poor and corrupt, there is little to no chance of such an investigation being launched against them. Hence, they continue scamming until they scam the wrong people and then the people take justice into their own hands...
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many crypto wallets do you own? on: March 27, 2023, 03:01:59 PM
Everytime I see topics like these that ask for personal information on finances or person data, I get a bit weirded out.

I do not think that its a good idea to give away information like this. Just the other week some guy was asking about how much Bitcoin everyone has. Combine that data with the amount of wallets information OP is asking and perhaps a few more replies on some other topics and you can start connecting the dots which trace back to you.

This is dangerous, especially since there are a lot of scammers around, hoping to trick you somehow into handing over your money to them....

They may even dox/threaten you.

People need to be more self aware on these forums. Undecided
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your country tax your gambling winnings? on: March 27, 2023, 02:21:45 PM
I live in Australia and we have no taxes on all gambling winnings (lottery, hose racing, sports betting and casinos).
I know the USA has gambling taxes and I think it's ridiculous.
You are risking your own money and if you win you are penalised.
I'm curious as to how many other users have to pay taxes on their winnings.

My country taxes everything and everyone and then everything again. I am not sure how it taxes gambling winnings or how much but I am 100% sure there is a tax.

I am actually quite surprised that there are countries that do not tax gambling profits. I understand if there is a minimum that is not taxed but if you are a multi millionaire who wins hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars every day, then how is it that your government does not expect a piece of the pie?

I know for a fact that in Australia the casino is taxed, so perhaps the casino demands some kind of charge from their customers to even out the profits?
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legal side to promoting bitcoin. on: March 26, 2023, 09:48:40 PM
I think that the SEC is very correct in penalizing any influencers who promote ICOs or glorifying any risky investment opportunities. Lets remember why they do this in the first place: Not because they themselves believe in that investment but rather because they were paid to promote a certain investment. Nobody is paying to promote Bitcoin because Bitcoin is owned by nobody. There would be no monetary profit for them.

From this we can assume the only people who promote Bitcoin do so only because they truly believe in Bitcoin as an investment.

Furthermore the SEC has declared Bitcoin a commodity, not a security. So they cannot really have any say in the matter of promotion anyway.

1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chasing looses Vs Finding closure: Any difference? on: March 26, 2023, 08:08:44 PM
Chasing losses is basically the gambling version of "trading on emotion", and as any good day-trader knows, that never goes well. Its best not to gamble on emotion, whether on the emotion of frustration from losing money or from the ecstatic feeling of winning more money (feeling lucky).

Usually the end result is (almost always) losing much more money than you thought you were going to lose. Its just probabilistic math and there is nothing you can do.

I recommend taking a break from gambling once you notice that your feelings are getting out of control. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, but you should always gamble with a clear head.

Finding closure is hard.

1492  Economy / Economics / Re: Finally they understand the value of Decentralization ! on: March 24, 2023, 08:51:51 PM
Decentralization and Blockchain is a new advance in our technological progress and as history teaches us, we take new technology in very slowly because it takes time not only to spread, but to be understood completely. Half of all people on earth are not very intelligent. And humanity can only go as fast as its slowest member.

So this whole time-lag in people adopting its quite understandable from an empathic point of perspective.

If anything I see this slow movement as a good thing (for us smarty pants) because it gives us an advantage of early adoption/investment.
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC needed for retirement in 10 years? on: March 24, 2023, 08:31:34 PM
I would guess that around 1 BTC will be needed in the future (probably in the somewhat distant future of around 20-30 years from now) when the price of Bitcoin is over 1 million USD each. In fact, if you are happy with a 401k retirement, then half a Bitcoin would do just as nicely around that kind of price level.

However we do not know what tomorrow will bring. With the advancement of technology, especially AI, we might not need money in the future.

I am hoping for a Star-Trek kind of future. No more material needs, no more money, no more greed.

But perhaps I am being a bit too gullible about human nature... Roll Eyes Grin
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The future of CBDC in gambling. on: March 24, 2023, 07:36:35 PM
I think that gambling with CBDCs will not be possible in countries that are against gambling. And even the countries that currently are ok with gambling, they will eventually exercise their power with the technology behind CBDCs to determine what you can buy, cannot buy and what you can and cannot spend your CBDC tokens/coins on. The governments would already enforce this kind of control if they could. But they currently cannot.

I think we should keep pushing against CBDCs. Unless we all want to live in China and be under total dictatorial financial control.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 24, 2023, 11:14:45 AM
I believe that fraud is the biggest issue that online casinos are facing after settling with the LAW to keep running their businesses, and I believe that the combination of Artificial Intelligence with human assessment will help prevent frauds.

With AI it will be more easier to eliminate frauds and set a stronger level of protection because AI is far more capable of doing the intense cross checking and and more complex security checks, it is a load of work for human to do cross checking themselves as the chance of missing a spot is possible due to tiredness or laziness. All these work load can be shifted to AI and leave the investigation cases to humans to fix.

What else do you think a gambling casino can benefit from using AI technology?

I think AI will be used for targeted advertising for the online gambling casinos. Really seems to be the area with the highest potential of psychological abuse as the main goal of any business is to find more clients/customers.

But perhaps they will also use Artificial Intelligence for weeding out bad actors like the underaged, money launderers, cheaters, bug exploiters and so on.

On the client side of things I do not see much improvements except maybe a more comfortable and/or convenient gambling environment.

But there's no stopping the AI transformation so lets wait and see how all of this turns out, whether for better or for worse.... Undecided

1497  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining on clouds waves on: March 23, 2023, 06:09:42 PM
Cloud mining is an obvious scam and I hate to see people falling for it. If you want to mine, then I suggest you do real mining. Sure, you might need to buy (invest into) some expensive equipment and you might not see a return profit for a while but you will pay off your expenses in time and then you will be making profits. No middle man, no third parties and no shady deals. All it takes from you is some time, some self-research, dedication and some patience.

Anything that seems to be too easy/cheap/good to be true, probably is. This goes especially when your wallet does not belong to you but rather to some third party. Not your keys, not your coins.
1498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 03:54:41 PM
Most of the time I play Blackjack & Dice.  I have always noticed that when I bet a large amount I am a loser when it comes to Dice.  Also in case of Blackjack when I bet big amount I get wrong card due to which I lose the bet. On the other hand when I bet small amount I win in case of Dice and if I bet small amount multiple times I win multiple times.  In Blackjack, when I bet small amounts, I am always get good cards and win the bets. Thus the cycle continues.  I have noticed that it is not an easy thing to withdraw from having achieved something great. I always gamble for fun with small amounts and lose them but I don't care. But I started playing blackjack yesterday with $1k and noticed that the casino sites are somehow cheating us. I lost my $1k yesterday. through Blackjack. What do you think about casino site algorithms?  Are they cheating with us?

Which online gambling casino exactly are you talking about? Because if its some small, unknown, shady casino with a questionable reputation, then perhaps yes. But if its a legitimate casino with a good reputation then I doubt they would cheat you like that. Its too obvious a cheat for such a big, established business to do. It would be financial suicide for them.

I think what happened is you got really unlucky and started connecting coincidences with things that are not necessarily true. Otherwise there would be more people noticing such things and more people would be complaining.
1499  Economy / Gambling / Re: No bet is a waste on: March 23, 2023, 11:10:22 AM

I meant if you just make single bets on each individual match and yes, you lost in the first one, but if you continued to bet the same fixed amount, then as a result you would simply win, in this case, multibets are not considered.
Exactly the point mate, we are on the same page this prediction is not for players that want to bet on multiple options, those are the ones that want to stake a small amount to win big since their accumulated odds.

-I have been following an odds prediction by one casino telegram group and to a large extent I have not won any bet from their predictions because I always bet in all the bets without changing or removing any selection.

-This have not really worked well for me, and as it is I still prefer to bet on my own predictions.

I do not understand how people can still trust random casino telegram prediction groups. They never have any real predictions worth betting on, and if you were to ask them how and where they did their research and what their predictions are based off of, you just get ignored or kicked out of the telegram group.

That makes sense though, no charlatans want logical thinkers in their community of sheep. Grin

Doing your own research and predicting your own bet outcomes is really the best way to bet. There is absolutely never a good reason for blindly trusting the predictions of other, especially if they somehow profit from gathering huge communities (which they obviously do).
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency will lead the currency market in near 5 years? on: March 23, 2023, 10:50:07 AM
Obviously Bitcoin.

Not sure if this was supposed to be a trick question, OP. Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is, was and will continue to be the backbone and the foundation of cryptocurrency. In fact, if all crypto were to somehow simply disappear tomorrow, it would not have a long term effect on the price of Bitcoin. However if Bitcoin were to disappear, all those cryptocurrencies which have Bitcoin as their asset layer would not even exist anymore. And the rest would be seen as too risky to buy because if the ultimate coin, BTC dies, all crypto would be considered dead.
