1481  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Safe 3 New Hardware Wallet on: October 12, 2023, 03:43:22 PM
Trezor 3 Safe is a boring name, I expected something more exotic but in reality it is just upgraded Trezor model One, and maybe that is not such a bad thing.

Trezor added usb-c connection, instead of old micro-usb used on model One, and they added EAL6+ Secure Element, but I can't find information what exact model they are using and it's OPTIGA Trust M.
I also don't know what main processor they are using for Trezor 3, but it should support Monero coin, unlike Trezor One, so it's probably similar like processor from Trezor model T.

Price for Trezor 3 is $79 and I think that is not bad, but don't expect to have bigger screen with Trezor 3, it's the same size as in Trezor One.
If you don't own hardware wallet this would be a solid entry point that will stay updated well after Trezor One gets retired.
Trezor 3 is in a sense just replacement for Model One.

Note that the secure element is not open source. It's just a regular secure element. Pretty funny coming from the company that spent the best part of the last 10 years saying how closed source secure elements are a security risk and secure elements are unnecessary, while sweeping under the rug their unfixable seed extraction vulnerability.
They literally had to make compromise, when they realized how hard is to make their own open source secure element, that is coming out in 2 years.
I won't critize Trezor for this new device, it's just refreshed model One, but we already spoke they need to do this long time ago.
Only thing they could add is bigger screen and small camera for airgapp support, but than price would be higher than $79.

Blockstream Jade has all that and costs less  Tongue
Jade doesn't have secure element, they have centralized server  Cheesy

Someone asked whether the SE is open source or not. The answer was:
Thanks! This is interesting.
I was looking on their website and I couldn't find what SE model they are using.
It was OPTIGA Trust M secure element, and only hardware wallet that is using secure element from this manufacturer is Keevo, that is using Infineon Optiga Trust-P.

I was looking forward to new Trezor models as I've been on the lookout for a new HW but if what you are saying is true, then I have to look elsewhere.
Trezor 3 is much better than ledger and old Trezor One, and maybe you can even buy it locally.
You don't have much options elsewhere for this price  Cheesy

1482  Economy / Reputation / Re: Request Support (or Opposition) for Flags here! on: October 11, 2023, 09:02:42 AM
You have created flag type 2 which should be created by the victim. But you are not the victim in this case I could not understand why you have created such a type (type 2). It would be better if the victim (Maris Lunt) would create a flag that could be type 3.
Isn't it obvious who created this flag with a simple click on the link that were provided?

1483  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] Mixerdream.com - Secure | Anonymous Bitcoin Mixer | Tumbler on: October 10, 2023, 09:49:31 PM
Note that Secret Chats in Telegram is the only way to fully encrypt your messages without revealing their contents to the Telegram company. Moreover, Secret Chats are not available for bot communication.
And since we can't verify that ''full encryption'' we have to trust that telegram is doing what they say they are doing, and this excludes bugs and flaws in code.
I also think that secret chats are only available for smartphones, not for telegram app installed on computers.
1484  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] The Anon virtual VISA card, No personal information needed. on: October 10, 2023, 09:41:56 PM
I'm really struggling to find your point here. You don't suggest people to try using our service, you don't want to try our product and in the same sentence you tell us to try our own product.
My point was that you should be the one to choose someone to test your cards, not me.

10% fee just to avoid KYC? 10% everytime I load the card?
You have to pay 10% every time you load card with coins, this is what their website support told me.
Way to expensive for me.
1485  Other / Off-topic / Re: Youtube alternative supports BTC donations - FreeTube on: October 10, 2023, 09:33:49 PM
At first when I read the title, I thought it was talking about an alternate service to using YouTube altogether. It turns out actually it's just a different client. Which is great because the stock youtube experience is terrible. It's riddled with ads everywhere, they've even tried to crack down on ad-blockers and 3rd party frontends to make people use the real site.
Youtube is making some changes and making it harder for adblockers to block ads, so FreeTube is even more interesting to me because of this.
I have been using it daily in last few months and it works very good for me, it works good even for live streams and it can be tweaked with different settings.

This is great stuff, YT has become extremely AD boring for free use. However, for bigger popularization, mobile users must be covered. I had a similar application on Android, Puretuber, with no ads and the best thing, was the video played even if the application was not in fullscreen but running in the background.
There is good open source alternative for smartphones as well, and it's called NewPipe.

Has anyone compared the obtained search results between YouTube and Freetube? Are they approximately the same?
Results are almost identical and in some cases I get better results with Freetube.
1486  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: October 09, 2023, 07:45:45 PM
Interesting update from Stack wallet is release of new version of multicoin wallet that works on all platforms, including Linux, Mac and wind0ws!
I have been testing this wallet in last few days on computer and it's not bad at all, they added Tor support (not working for Monero), and interface is nice, but warning that this is still pre-release v1.8.0, so expect some bugs.
It looks like Stack was working with Passport Foundation developers on this project:

1487  Other / Off-topic / Youtube alternative supports BTC donations - FreeTube on: October 09, 2023, 07:35:59 PM
I was really pissed what youtube has turned into lately so I was trying to find alternatives for every day use and watching videos.

Best option I found so far for desktop computers (Linux, Mac, wind0ws) is youtube client called FreeTube.

Interesting thing that FreeTube is totally free, open source community made app, that respects privacy and accepts Bitcoin donations (so far they accepted 0.06738718 BTC)!

What advantages I noticed compared to using Youtube in browser?

- No Ads, and no adblockers.
- It works much faster and it takes less resources, so it's great for low spec devices, raspberry pi, old computers, etc.
- Subscriptions can be made without account, for following channels and new videos, live shows, shorts.
- Open source and Private.
- Bitcoin donations accepted.

1488  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger's laying off employees. Thoughts? on: October 09, 2023, 07:13:56 PM
No surprise here that ledger is laying off their employees, village garage is getting smaller and smaller every day  Roll Eyes
Let's not forget they also fired their co-founder aka reddit evil moderator BTChip for doing ''amazing'' work in last few years  Cheesy

By the way, I don't think I mentioned that I used to be a fan of Ledger despite the warnings by dkbit98 in particular but now have turned 180 degrees....so that makes me an anti-fan, I suppose.
I didn't force anyone to hate ledger, I just presented information from my research, and something was stinking from start.
1489  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor New Hardware Wallet _____! on: October 09, 2023, 07:07:03 PM
You can listen to this podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts & YouTube.
Thank you JL0!
It was good interview and I listened important parts, and I am little disappointed to say that this new hardware wallet won't have trezor's new secure element, that won't happen until 2025 or 2026  Tongue
Another information I heard from Matej is that new device will have physical buttons, some new options, and price will be between €69 and €219, probably less than €100.
I was a bit overly optimistic when I first heard the news.

Since this will be something new from Trezor, the price will surely be higher than their previous flagship model (model T). $250-300?
Interview posted above explains everything.
Price will be less than $250 for sure.

1490  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: hyprmall.com - ecommerce using crypto on: October 09, 2023, 06:59:50 PM
Hello, my brother and I made an ecommerce platform that runs on Bitcoin.
We are currently in testing and would like your thoughts and feedback.
A bit more information and explanation would be nice.
Are you using any third party websites for ordering and delivering ordered items, or you already own them and sell directly?
It would be better to enable additional checkout for guest accounts, for people who want to purchase something without registering accounts.

1491  Other / Meta / Re: Python script to automatically delete or edit all bitcointalk posts on: October 09, 2023, 05:50:49 PM
Since you cant delete your account here, and deleting posts manually one by one is a pain, i made a python script to automatically delete all posts that can be deleted, and to edit those which can only be edited (changes subject and message to "x")
I agree with other users who said that it would be a good idea to move all edited X posts to archive board as a last step.
Note that all posts are archived by Ninjastic.space, Loyce.club and probably few other archiving websites like WaybackMachine and Archive.is, so we can't really delete anything.
If someone wants to find old posts they will find a way to do it.

I'm pretty sure this falls under rule #1:
Is there any better option to force moderators to nuke and delete all your posts?
That might be a good option if you don't want to leave any X posts in archival board.

1492  Other / Meta / Re: A concise 2FA/TOTP implementation (SMF patch) on: October 09, 2023, 05:37:15 PM
Meh. I didn't do this work with payment in mind (like I said to Stunna in the PM I sent in July: I was committed to finishing this before I was even aware of the bounty). That being said, if Stunna is a hardcore sticking-to-my-word type, then I'll certainly hold out my cup. Cheesy
You deserve it, and not just because of this patch or for discovering bugs in forum.
I was secretly hoping you might take over work or help with implementing of new forum software, mostly for better mobile support, so this could be great motivation for you.
If 2FA gets introduced this year it would be one of the biggest forum upgrade in years.
1493  Other / Meta / Re: Switching to Presearch search engine for bitcointalk? on: October 09, 2023, 05:28:48 PM
Wouldn't it make sense? https://www.presearch.io/ can't be worst than the current engine...
I would certainly like to switch from google search to some good alternative but I wouldn't waste time with presearch.
Last year I heard many people complained about presearch because they never paid them tokens they earned, and they always made up new reasons.
We also don't know what information they collect, and I am sure they are collecting everything.

Other alternatives I would consider instead are brave search, start page, or even better SearX.
1494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchange that offer depositing bitcoin from segwit address? on: October 09, 2023, 04:17:49 PM
Do you know any exchange that accept deposit from bitcoins native segwit address beside binance, coinbase, gemini, okex and kucoin?
There is one wiki page with list of exchanges, wallets and services that support Bech32 address format, that means Native Segwit.
This should be updated on regular basis, but it's better to confirm everything yourself:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bech32_adoption
1495  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice Needed - GFAL on Ledger on: October 09, 2023, 04:08:30 PM
I have transferred my GFAL from Mexc to my ledger and although it shows the number of coins transferred on ledger live, it doesn't give a $ value like with my other coins.
I don't even know what GFAL is, but I guess it's just another shitcoin.
Someone said that keeping shitcoins on harrdware wallet is the same like keeping bananas in safe deposit, they will soon be rotten and bad.

I can't find much info on the net regarding this, all I'm concerned with is knowing that the GFAL are on the ledger and I don't need to do anything else?  I'm awaiting delivery of a Tangem wallet and then I'll transfer the GFAL to that i just wanted to make sure I've not made an error anywhere?
You should first double check in explorer if your address is correct and what is the balance.
Getting new hardware wallet won't solve anything if you sent tokens to wrong address or if you made some other mistake.
1496  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LNP2PBOT Non KYC btc lightning exchange on: October 09, 2023, 04:02:54 PM
Did someone try it ?
I didn't try this exchange simply because it uses telegram and I don't trust this app enough for this purpose.
Another thing I don't like is that everything is written in foreign language when I last checked it, I believe it was Spanish language.
I have nothing against other people using it, if it works for them.

1497  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seed Backup Solutions, compared feature by feature on: October 06, 2023, 07:05:48 PM
@thebitcoinhole Seed Backup page is not working for me, while all other pages open fine.
Are you working on it and adding new stuff, or there is some other issue?

PS
I wanted to suggest few products for you to add, but I am not sure if you already have them listed.
1498  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tor was not working on: October 06, 2023, 06:55:01 PM
It doesn't really matter how private your browser is when your OS is spying on everything you do. Using Tor is still better than using any other browser, but if you are using Windows 11 you should assume your privacy is roughly zero.
Or even below zero  Cheesy
There are few tweaks and modified settings you can use to reduce how much you are spied by microsoft, but it will never be good base for any privacy.
I don't see any good reason for anyone to use windows unless they are lazy, or they simply don't care about privacy.
And let's not even start talking how most malware are made for windows.

Personally I like Debian, but for brand new Linux users migrating from Windows, I always recommend Mint. It is far more newbie friendly than some other Linux distros, the GUI is the most similar to Windows, and there is an extensive online community which can assist with troubleshooting.
I tried most of the big Linux distributions including Debian, and problem I have with Debian is often outdated old software, even if you are using latest testing instead of stable.
Another problem is that my hardware was not detected so I had to install different version and do a lot of manual post installations and fixing.
Mint is fine and it usually works for most people, but I don't like Ubuntu base, so maybe it's not a bad idea for people to try Mint Debian release.
1499  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] The Anon virtual VISA card, No personal information needed. on: October 06, 2023, 05:10:52 PM
We would love to waive the card creation fees for a couple of trusted members, let me know if you can suggest any members (our maybe yourself).
Thanks, but no thanks.
I won't suggest anyone to test your product, this is your job, and I see to many risks to test it myself with my own money.
After talking with support on your website I noticed a lot of typing errors, looks like one man ''team'' doesn't speak English very well.

Can you tell us where your financial technology company is registered and located exactly?

1500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: List of Best Anonymous Instant Swap Exchanges in 2023 on: October 06, 2023, 04:49:37 PM
Here's a detailed list of instant swap exchanges that you can use today without any ID verification.
One of the best instant exchange I know is missing from your list and it's called eXch.
No need to register, no kyc, no use of third party exchanges, and they are rated very good on kycnot.me website.
Safest option is usually a bit slower with something like Bisq exchange, that is not exactly instant, but it support fiat currencies.
