1481  Other / Meta / Re: (Any Guesses?) Are there many real (unpaid) people still posting here at BCT? on: December 07, 2023, 09:25:44 PM
A good test of the paid posters question will be when the mixers advertising ban goes into effect. Will we see a massive dropoff in posts per day here or will it not be noticeable. I would imagine given the number of mixers offering signature campaigns that the number of posts per day would be somewhat noticeably effected.
1482  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which currency will able to replace the $$? If 3rd world war will happen! on: December 07, 2023, 09:23:56 PM
I’m not sure that World War 3 will make a difference in the global reserve currency but there are obviously those trying to replace the dollar anyway for a variety of reasons. Right now the big competitor on the rise seems to be the BRICS currency, which is a real threat for taking a majority of global trade away from the United States Dollar.

OgNasty. You should be relieved to know that the BRICS officially issuing a global and multinational currency is very unlikely to happen. You know why? Because even among those BRICS members which seem to be powerful and have a anatognistic relation with the United States, they still have problems amoung each other. Take for example China and India, which are the bulk of the Economical power of the BRICS, to this day they still have conflicts over their border in the Himalayas, to the point they have had clashes.

How are they supposed to try to dethrone the USA economical if they can't even get along and solve territorial problems and conflicts? You may be underestimating your government.

I don’t think it is possible to underestimate our current government to be honest. They are either wildly incompetent or purposefully trying to destroy this country in the name of globalism. That being said, the countries in BRICS may have their issues, but controlling the world’s reserve currency and escaping the financial oppression of the United States is certainly more important for them.

People are accusing Zach LaVine of faking his foot injury to force a trade to the Lakers. He’s even scheduled to return when DiAngelo Russell becomes eligible to be traded. I’m not sure if I believe this, but it is within the realm of possibility. I don’t think Zach LaVine will still be a member of the Chicago Bulls when the trade deadline rolls around.
1484  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Work & work & work until you begin to break, is there no way out? on: December 07, 2023, 07:40:54 PM
When you’re caught in the day to day grind it can feel like you’re trapped or even enslaved. I think the way out is to save money and then start a business doing something you love. Then work won’t feel like a trap. Instead it will feel like you’re doing what you love to do with your life. It can be hard and not everyone will make it, but maybe you owe it to yourself to try.
1485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 07, 2023, 07:38:05 PM
So far it looks like we just had a correction for ants. The market seems to already be building on that mini correction with higher lows as it starts moving back up. I don’t think this drop is cause for concern yet, but if a lower low occurs below $42,800 then I think it could trigger another leg down. For now though it seems like we could still be in rally mode.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 07, 2023, 07:35:06 PM
A couple of good tournament games on today and they’re both televised. The first game is on ESPN and the second on TNT. I think the Bucks can beat the Pacers but the Pelicans game with the Lakers might be a toss up. Brandon Ingram has been on fire lately and he always plays well against his former team. LeBron really wants to win this tournament though, so I think it’ll come down to LeBron vs Giannis.
1487  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 07, 2023, 06:17:06 AM
Speculating day to day movements is one thing but trading them is another. It’s fun to talk about the market and get a feel for how it’s moving but at the end of the day the way for most people to play the Bitcoin market is to dollar cost average buy on a regular basis and then sell a chunk of your stack every four years.
1488  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything has changed on: December 07, 2023, 05:42:22 AM
The whole Covid thing has messed with a lot of people. Many businesses were destroyed that had been in families for generations. A lot of people lost their jobs. Many were forced to take injections or have their way of life destroyed. Children were forced to school from home and are still behind where they should be. I think a lot of people are still trying to come to terms with what happened.
1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 07, 2023, 05:37:52 AM
Some mismatches today that might make for a decent parlay. I like the 76ers over the Wizards, the Timberwolves over the Spurs, the Warriors over the Trail Blazers, and the Nuggets over the Clippers (this one goes against the odds). I may even be tempted to take the Mavericks over the Jazz. We’ll see how all that plays out.

Looks like the Clippers ruined my parlay. The Nuggets had all their main guys as well so that is a bit of a surprise to me. Maybe the Clippers are finally starting to get it together. The Joker had a little bit of a bad night. He still got decent numbers but shooting 9-32 isn’t going to get it done. The Nuggets as a team didn’t shoot well from 3 either.

1491  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia: Supreme Court Bans “LGBT Movement” as “Extremist” on: December 06, 2023, 09:53:56 PM
Putin wants the support from the majority. LGBT Movement in Russia is a minority unlike in US where it is a majority.

I don’t think the LGBT movement in the US is the majority, the media just tries to make it seem that way. People are mostly silent about it because liberals will attempt to destroy your life any way they can if you oppose their views. Even a large percentage of gay people oppose transgender people merging with their movement and view trans as mental illness. Russia is in trouble going against the views of the New World Order though. This is how World Wars start.
1492  Other / Meta / Re: [Question] What Areas are lacking in the forum? on: December 06, 2023, 09:48:56 PM
Testicular fortitude from leadership. There have been so many broken promises and empty threats made from the top, but it always boils down to things being allowed under the guise of freedom of speech. Now with the mixers situation it is clear that the motivation isn’t freedom of speech, the motivation is the least amount of effort and management possible. Mixers present an issue because law enforcement wants to make inquiries about them, so it’s easier to ban them. The motivation has clearly changed to eliminating responsibility, not enabling freedom and it’s a trend that has been building for several years.
1493  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is the only currency that has grown the most!! on: December 06, 2023, 09:41:45 PM
When you talk about a coin’s growth I wish people would refer to market cap instead of coin price. It shows an understanding of what is being discussed. Also, considering most other coins have presales or other methods of enriching their founders, Bitcoin’s growth can’t be touched, as it’s infinite from where it started, which was 0.
1494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will exceed the $100k barrier before 2025 on: December 06, 2023, 09:33:31 PM
My prediction is based on the fact that FTX was fraudulently holding the Bitcoin market down in 2021. This leads me to believe the price is artificially depressed and looking for price discovery. So it could break $100K next year, but by the end of 2025 anyone should be expecting at least a $140K Bitcoin price and if you believe the market will play catchup due to Fatal last cycle, it isn’t absurd to think it could hit $400K by the end of 2025.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 06, 2023, 09:30:16 PM
A couple games to watch on ESPN tonight. Can’t say I’m too interested in watching the first one but the Timberwolves over the Spurs should be an easy win for bettors. The second game should prove to be a little more exciting as the Nuggets take on the Clippers. Surprisingly the Clippers are the favorite, so I’m wondering if the Nuggets have some people out.
1496  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most famous person on Bitcointalk? on: December 06, 2023, 10:10:15 AM
Well, we don't know the real persons behind majority of the usernames here. There may be some of us here who are famous in real life. So it's hard to tell, but as far as those who are personally known are concerned, at least there's Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin. He's still a bit active. There might be more, but the rest of those who have got big names especially in crypto like Andreas Antonopoulos, Adam Back, Vitalik Buterin, and others are mostly inactive.

I would agree that Charlie Lee is likely the most famous person that can be reached on these forums. He has been featured on TV many times making him the most likely person to be recognized by the average person. There have been more influential and well known people who have posted here, but not many stuck around once the trolls and scammers moved in.
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 06, 2023, 06:43:17 AM
I didn’t expect the Paces and Pelicans to be this far in the tournament but here we are. Another good win for LeBron over KD as the Lakers advanced passed the Suns. LeBron seems to have KD’s number these days with the sudden win streak after not facing each other for years. KD upped his efficiency this matchup, but it still wasn’t enough to secure a win.

Jesus. Two pages of going on about GPUs and not one locomotive?

We're still a long way from CCMF.

Maybe after $60k.

Indeed we’re still in recovery mode

I think they'll first do a major bull trap (sell the ETF news), before eventually reversing course and plowing onward and upward.

I’m surprised a bull trap hasn’t occurred yet. Someone must be buying a ton of BTC right now. This is bigger than a Microstrategy buy. I would speculate a Saudi Fund or maybe a country like Argentina or even a company like Apple. I’m in full spectator mode seeing what happens next. I’ve got a Bitcoin ticker going in my house now.
1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 06, 2023, 01:03:13 AM
Some good games on tonight as the in-season tournament rolls on. TNT is airing them so it will be a good night for basketball. I like the Bucks beating the Knicks in the first game, but the second game could go either way. I think the Suns have a better team but they’ve got some injuries and the Lakers are playing well. We all know how cheap LeBron is so I’m not sure betting against him with $500,000 at stake is a good idea.

I don't know though, but I'm leaning towards a +5.5 for the Knicks here.

One thing that got me into the Knicks is their defense rating, as they are in the 4th position. And they are also shooting very high percentage as well. While Bucks will rely on Giannis and Lillard and Middleton.

And it could be a tough match up for them here against the defense that the Knicks are going to put up here.

I was thinking of going Bucks and Lakers to win in a parlay. I think Giannis is just too dominant to bet against and LeBron’s cheapness should help the Lakers win tonight. Booker is also coming off injury and you know LeBron wants another accolade to add to his career, not to mention they’re in Los Angeles. So far the Knicks are staying with the Bucks as it’s a 2 point game after 1.

Nice one. No doubt this is how a lot of people feel who have been ignoring crypto since buying at $60K and selling at $20K… The time to fill your bags might be behind us, but a good DCA strategy will never do you wrong. The exciting part is that if this buying could somehow magically continue for the next 5 months, it could really ramp up once the halving takes place.
