^ Again, the fight has been hype already and to that point that it seems that our waiting is turning into disappointment because of the time that we have to wait and then we don't know if who is balking or stalling or if they have the contracts but a lot of points to be cleared. Hopefully that talks is still going on secretly as they don't want to preempt to get leak to the media as this is a very important fight in the division, it's a unification fight and I don't remember when it did happen at 147 lbs.

It's been hyped since May this year and I think both camps started talking last June or July, fans have been feeling great and delighted when they knew that the deal is finally finished and both camps are just waiting for the contract but few days later, everything turns to gray as the fight is now back on square one.

Right, when they win against their worth opponent, Crawford against Porter, and then Spence vs Ugas. Everyone is delighted that finally a unification fight in the biggest division of boxing. But now the tune has change.

Maybe it's much better to leave it as is and just wait for them whenever they are ready because I believe that they are doing anything they can, it's just there are some unexpected problems. There are some rumors that either one of the camps is stalling but sadly, we cannot verify that information.

Yeah, that is the option left for now, leave it as it is and hope that they fight is going to be pushed by either side and not shelved it totally. Or someone big stepping up to tell both camps to make it because the demands for the fans is really there.

^^ Many are looking for this kid and there are reports that scouts are present in the game and they are satisfied seeing Victor Wembanyama, and telling that he is a hybrid of KD and Rudy Gobert? And so they are very happy to watch him so it's going to be a dogfight if he even goes to the NBA.

As for Kai, he is also good but still very raw talent that needs to be developed.

This guy will likely be hired in the NBA soon, as for Kai, he has the height but he is not exceptional yet, I guess he needs more training and of course, needs more improvement to be very competitive. Kai is a versatile big man, however, he must live up to the competition as for now, he is not yet worthy to be in the NBA, maybe if he will gain more minutes in his current team and could tally great stats, that would give him a better chance.

I don't know why is there so much hype of Kai Sotto, definitely a good player, but he lack the "IT" factor to become a NBA players, just saying. He has a lot of supporters though amongst NBA fans so hopefully he can improved a lot and maybe in the next 2 years, will be drafted by the NBA.

For Victor, sky is the limit and as long as he can stay healthy, he could be definitely top 3 draft in he ever decided to enter the biggest basketball league (I understand he is European).
1743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum is Swap is costly after the Ethereum merger 2.0 on: October 07, 2022, 05:24:25 PM
Hi guys I was wondering that that when ether spiked it caused very big gas congestion problems that lead to very high high fees for swap and also withdrawals. And when we heard news about ether merge 2.0 many members were saying that it might get very cheaper withdrawals fees and still I think that's not the case with Ethereum and that is not good for snallers volume traders.

Perhaps you didn't read the most common misconception about the ETH merge.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/the-merge-top-5-misconceptions-about-the-anticipated-ethereum-upgrade

Quote
Misconception 1: Ethereum gas fees will reduce after The Merge

Ethereum’s impending upgrade will reduce Ethereum’s infamous gas fees (transaction fees) is one of the biggest misconceptions circulating among investors. While reduced gas fees top every investor’s wishlist, The Merge is a change of consensus mechanism that will transition the Ethereum blockchain from PoW to proof-of-stake (PoS).

So there will be no cheaper transaction after the merge, but in any case, as others have said it is still quite cheap and so we don't know what is your complain here.
1744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 06, 2022, 08:29:55 PM
Yes, but top seed tends to perform better and not to get upset, but this is the second time that Alcaraz have been eliminated like this.
First, is when we become the number 1 seed, the first game he played he lost.
And now this time, but I have to check though, maybe he is injured or something or just lost (again) his mental focus. if this will be frequent though then most likely he will not stop as number 1 for a long time like the big 3 before him.
Alcaraz is just a kid but even at this young age, he is already on top of the world. So sometimes it is understandable if he becomes a touch overconfident. And it is also understandable if he lost his focus because he achieved so much in such a short time.
It does not appear that he has any problems or injuries. But he should be thoroughly checked. But in my opinion, it was just a lapse in concentration. Maybe he cannot cope with the pressure of being at the top and maintaining his position. I think we should cut him some slack because he is just a young kid. He will learn how to handle pressure and how to approach future matches when he is older.
I would tend to agree but you have to look at how he achieved and become the world's number 1.
There are also a lot of pressure in his shoulder, but he seems to beat the odds and achieved his goal. So he is mentally focus because if he is not then he will be the likes of other who is making a good run until they stop improving like Tsitsipas. So he can't be this  kind of reasoning, overconfident? nah, he can't do that, lost focus? I doubt that. Again the pressure is already in his shoulders way before, as he is being compared ot Nadal like 6-8 months ago, so he can handle pressures like coming back from 2 sets down in a 5 setter and win the game. This is just very uncharacteristic of him, just saying.

In this case, I have to agree with you. Because he is only a kid, he might feel a lot of pressure to prove he is actually worthy of being number one. The pressure can often lead a man to make mistakes that he normally wouldn't have made. Some people are very quick to compare a young player with some of the legends of this generation when it comes to evaluating young players.

It is true that he is one of the leading players in the world right now and the number one grant player in the world right now. But that does not mean he is already at the level of Rafael Nadal or Rodger Federer. At the same time, it is also true that being the best in the world does come with some consequences, and being compared to the best is just one of them.
I think Alcaraz is doing everything right at the moment. He has great game, he is quite strong mentally and he seems down to earth. I am not worried for him one bit, he will be one of the greats if not no.1 in the years to come.

His only fault is that he is going too much for his strokes, he needs to learn how to finish points without hitting the lines sometimes. He believes in himself maybe a bit too much, and needs to add a bit of safety margin to his points. He will learn that will time and then he will lower unforced errors count and become even tougher to beat.

Yes, great point, I thought that I'm the only one who see that, but we can see he somewhat going to much per stroke that's why he misses a point that he can easily converted.

And so as he mature, maybe he will have the time to correct itself and that will be dangerous specially when he hits his prime because he will be the perfect tennis player in the mold of lets say Djokovic.

1746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bull run 'getting interesting' as BTC price hits 6-week high on: October 06, 2022, 11:49:31 AM
I certainly agree with you, better play it safe if we don't have the capacity to understand the market behavior and never make ourselves stressed.
+1 in here , I am safer than anything because I am holder and will keep holding for the rest of Halving .

Playing it safe is always going to be subjective, but as long as you already understand the risk from the get go (investing money you know you can always more or less buy something with today for something you hope will do much better many years from now).

DCA is the safest and least stress free method, if you don't put everything in it, and only use spare change. Doesn't make it a guaranteed bet though.

Best of both worlds is to DCA and keep spending enough BTC to enjoy what you reap. Every little bit of utility goes a long way to strengthening fundamentals next halving.

Yes, DCA is one of the coolest method, I mean it's not that complicated, and as long as you have the money to buy weekly then it wil be worth, as long as you are into for the long haul.

And it we look at the next bull run or the catalyst, the halving, we are still very far, and with that the opportunity is still with us to accumulate thru DCA or whatever method that suits you without getting stress.
1747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 05, 2022, 09:59:02 PM

It's been widely known by the fans that Crawford is willing to accept the smaller slice of the cake because he knows that Spence has earned the right to get bigger slice, what the man wants is a full transparency, is that really hard to agree? If that's the case then it's somewhat clear that Spence and his camp wants to take as much as they can while they have the advantage and by denying Crawford. Maybe it's time to affect the fact that Spence and his camp have no plans on making the fight happen.

Jaron Ennis is the mandatory opponent of Spence and this guy has an awesome record he has 29 wins and 27 knockouts and is touted to be the next Floyd Mayweather, Spence is going to get less money on this fight and he will be in trouble against this guy because this is a worthy challenger, this could be the guy that can stop the Spence - Crawford to happen if he beat Spence, Spence should face Crawford because there is huge money that he's going to take than fighting Ennis.

I have to look at this Jaron Ennis though, I have read a lot about him lately so I might be interested to check him out and how good he is. Next Floyd Mayweather? I don't believed that, maybe they are just hyping him and probably but the next super welterweight that might stay as the champion. But the fight is still Spence vs Crawford, no other option for the 147 lbs, forget about Thurman, Ennis and who is on the radar right now. Spence vs Crawford is what the fans demanded from this promoters and networks.
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 05, 2022, 09:48:41 PM
Fun game by the New Orleans Pelicans versus the Chicago Bulls.
The bench players' performance in the last quarter of the game made it look like it was a regular season.  Cheesy
NOP 129 - Bulls 125

The Pelicans look great, and Zion looks good (I can't tell if some weight was lost). They are a solid team and their bench looks promising too with Willy Hernangomez who won the Fiba Eurobasket MVP.
If healthy, I think they have a great chance to make a top seed. They will probably be one of the favorites this season.

I don't usually watch pre-season games because they aren't serious games. But I'm also excited at how the healthy Pelicans will end up this season. Their line-up is already good so all they need now is to perform well. I heard that Zion is on a seafood diet. Hopefully, it's not a giant octopus or tuna per meal. Cheesy

Yes, Zion losing weight is one of the biggest story this season. I think he listens to Barkley's criticism that he needs to lose up that belly, and in the end it will really benefit him and his team. They have a solid line up right now that is playoff bound with him and CJ in the side.

Not only with Barkley's criticism, but he listened to everyone's suggestion that he should lose some weight to unlock his full potential. Some people might have been starting to hate the kid for becoming so fragile after reaching the NBA, but I still believe he's not a bust and he'll eventually live up to the hype he once have after the draft night.
Hoping for him to bounce back and be as durable as LeBron.

I think he is not a bust, still very young although he was out last year, he still has a lot of potential to be the next face of the NBA like Giannis before him. And it's good that the kid listens to every critics of his, like Sir Charles and the rest of the basketball fans and analyst. And so with that new bod, for sure we will see a lot of improvement, he has the moves already and the shooting touch outside, he just need to be consistent and not injury prone and we wish we can see him play full season.

Definitely not a bust.  That's ridiculous.  When he's healthy he's one of the most if not the most dominant player in the NBA...

A lot of preseason games today but none on cable TV so I won't be able to watch any.  The only one that really seems interesting is the Lakers/Suns.  Tomorrow has a couple of good games though.  Heat/Nets should be a good one as we get another look at the Kyrie/KD/Simmons lineup.  Then on ESPN you have the Lakers and Timberwolves.  That one I will probably try to catch some of.  Smiley

Yep, not a bust but he was just injury prone that's why we missed him last year, those high lights dunks from him. Wonder who will be his poster victim this season.

In any case, the Kyrie/KD/Simmons is a good look again and see if the chemistry is really there or if these divas will have some problems down the line.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 05, 2022, 09:32:06 PM
Oh. What happened there? Alcaraz was eliminated in the first round in the ATP tournament in Kazakhstan. He lost against Belgian Goffin in 2 sets. His opponent in the final in the US Open, Ruud, was also eliminated in the first round in the ATP tournament in Tokyo. He also lost in 2 sets.
Probably just a lapse of focus or concentration. It is a good win of Goffin but Alcaraz just was not good enough today. It is still 3 months to the next grand slam so there is nothing to worry about it. In these kind of tournaments you will always have some surprises in the early rounds.
More surprise have been happening with the players in all levels. Whether it is the top position player or someone at the bottom, it is possible to see unexpected outcomes. It looks like going against the odds would bring good profit. Even the betting platforms have predicted Alcaraz to be the winner having the lower odds.

1750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: October 05, 2022, 09:12:38 PM
I thought that the next halving is going to occur around May, my calendar might be off,  Grin

But in any case, yeah, it's the catalyst for the next bull run so everyone is going to be excited to see that event again. But before that, we should continue to accumulate today, still cheap as the price is still around the all time high in 2017. And we still have a lot of time to do that, and as per prediction, we might be seeing 6 digits this time, (we all expecting it in 2021).
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the safest bet for 3X to 5X return? on: October 02, 2022, 01:39:50 AM
Hi everyone!

I have around 40k usd and I'm looking for a 2 years investment.

What is the safest bet in your opinion?

- Bitcoin,
- Ethereum, or
- Solana?

I'm expecting a 4x in avarage... Thank you!  Grin

The safest bet? I would definitely say Bitcoin, it has proven already, 2017 and 2021 bull run. In 2020 see it plummet to $3k because of the pandemic then going to a massive run of $69k.

Ethereum went below $100 in 2018, and then also have a magical run to $4k and up.

Not sure about Solana, it's just new as compare to those prime movers. So I would same both of them are the safest and could give you a good returns in the next 2 years. And your timing is just about right because it is project that we will have another massive bull run in 2024-2025, so it's better to start now. And simply buy and hold, nothing spectacular.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this statiscally possible in a lottery? on: October 02, 2022, 01:14:02 AM
I'm not a statistic guy, but I will say that it is possible what not sure what are the odds are.

Also, isn't it this kind of lottery results are being shown in the public as it has been draw with the representative of DTI? (I will assumed this is Philippines as it shows PHP). So they have to collude with the government and win this numbers?

As Tesla believed though, the numbers 3/6/9 is the "secret of the universe".
1753  Economy / Speculation / Re: No strength in Bitcoin in higher time frames on: October 01, 2022, 09:46:23 PM
The most important part of this year was staying below a 200 week average for any period of time, thats a measured average rather then the ATH idea which is a guess on correct pricing.  Most likely 20k wasnt entirely reliable as a price point due to excessive congestion, as I remember it fees to send anything were about 40 dollars or something silly hence volume was not really reflecting the entire population of users beyond speculative trades.

But that was a long time ago, it was 2017 if I'm not mistaken about the network congestions that you are talking about. Anyhow, this is the price first in history that bitcoin goes below it's previous all time high.

It could indicate that the next bull run might be higher than everyone is expected, so it means it will be so massive. Or just about to nice the 6 digit market and that the prediction in 2021 should happened in 2025. Anyhow, still a long time to see what will happen.
1754  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn from cryptocurrency as a starter? on: October 01, 2022, 09:26:53 PM
Hello Mates, I wish to venture into trading but I'm just being mindful of the current market situation. Looking at the market, I see instability.

I wish to get the needed guide on how and when to start trading Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies inorder to make some profits to settle some of my needs. I appreciate you all for your kind response in advance.
The current market is very volatile. Traders who are new to this market do not do any trading on guesswork. And if you want to trade in this volatile market, you should trade very carefully.Always remember that there are some principles of trading and there are strategies by using these strategies you will continue trading in this current market. One of them is to try to buy at the lowest price and sell when the price increases a little. Don't be greedy there.
Now if a trader trades in this market he will never make profit. But if he has an idea about the market then he can make money. And if he has no idea he will lose all his money. So I think this market  It's better for newbies to stay as far away from the trade as possible.

I somewhat do agree, but remember that you will not always win in this market, no matter how you hard you tried. So for me, losses are part of the cycle here, it's just how you react and learn from your trading losses. You might want to write it down and see where it went wrong or at least journal it, so that you won't make the same mistakes. So it's a learning experience as well when you lose money here, and that's what important because you will be toughen and your next trades could be very well successful. So learn through experience even if it is very expensive.
1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 01, 2022, 09:08:29 PM
Right now, I think the 76ers are the better team to win right now in the East. I believe that Harden, Embiid and Maxey will be a good trio and add Tucker who is a great role player and defender. I also have doubts with the Nets as well. Will the chemistry as a team there after the drama that Kyrie and KD did? Will Simmons play the whole season and is there any changes in his playstyle? Let's just see during the regular season but I'm predicting the 76ers to win the East. Too early Cheesy.
I have different rankings when it comes to the East. Yes, the 76ers are a strong team now but I think the Miami Heat will be hungry again.
They've seen their weaknesses last season so now they know how to strengthen them. Plus, they are a young team with so much talent on their roster.
So it's either Heat or 76ers on the top and next to them are Celtics, Bucks, and Nets fighting for the 3rd.
But that's only for the season, the difference will be seen in the playoffs as the Heat are shaky when that event comes.

It's really hard to predict the East, if they are all healthy, I would agree that maybe the Sixers or Heat will be on top. And then Joel putting MVP numbers, but Butler being the leader of the Miami will push once more. And of course there is still Giannis, also putting great statistics and the big 3 of Nets seems to be enjoying their camp with KD, Harden and Simmons already saying praises for each other as if they have played together, Lol. Celtics might be the big underdog here, eventhough they have reach the finals, the shakeup in the organization might have put a dent on some of their players. Blake though might be good addition because Robert Williams is injured.
1756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 01, 2022, 08:52:41 PM

WBC and WBO super bantamweight Champion Stephen Fulton has shown interest in fighting the Bantamweight King Naoya Inoue if possible or if the latter moved up to 122lb. But if that didn't happen, Fulton can fight Murodjon Akhmadaliev instead to unify the Super Bantamweight title.

Just as I thought that the Champions in that division are waiting for Naoya Inoue. I think Inoue can crash these guys at the Super Bantamweight but of course, he just needs to fully prepare for that and don't rush everything.

The way I looked at Inoue, he is overqualified already to compete in the Super Bantamweight. Who's with me or against my idea? Smiley

Yes, I agree with you. We can say that Inoue's already overqualified in the Super Bantamweight and I don't have any doubts that he will just defeat the belt holders in the said division if he chose to climb there. There's not much difference because it's just 4 pounds or a kilo and a half from bantamweight, what I'm thinking is that Inoue will choose the featherweight instead.

And one advantage of Inoue is that his body seems to be on his prime and so it's easy for him to carry that 4 pounds South and still  be as destructed as in the current division that he is campaigning. And the champion are all waiting for him when he moves up to super bantamweight. Because they know that it will be a very difficult task for him because of Inoue's power, but it's like Inoue is the new kid on their block and they have to show who is the 'boss'. So it will be not easy for Naoya, and the champion as super bantamweight knows that it is a good payday for them as well.
1757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculators : Bitcoins is up now 21k buy buy buy ! but... on: September 30, 2022, 08:56:21 PM
It's hard to know for sure what triggered the intense selling that caused bitcoin's price to drop again in recent days. Therefore, seeing the bitcoin price currently hovering around $22k, it seems that the bitcoin price has the potential to go down again and move to the $20k area at the end of this month.
The price of Bitcoin is not something we can predict exactly the price. Because this price we are emphasising on, or lamenting every season, do we realize that the price of Bitcoin either it's on falling situation or rising situation, it's determine by the market condition. Actually the demands and supply in the market is what triggers the rising of bitcoins in market, and secondly i believe that when the demand is high the price of bitcoin will rise and when the demand is low the price of bitcoins will fall. And we have to observe this, that whenever we are fast approaching December the price of Bitcoin do rise

And then there is the factor of news, FUDs that have affected the market in a negative way.

The inflation report has just been released, Sept 13 and it didn't looks good at it put a huge dent on the market price, plummeting 10% pulling down the price to low $20,000 when we are just making a huge rally because of the ETH merge. Hopefully we can at least get back to our feet and reaches $21,000 before the end of the week so that we can make a run before this month end and closes on a positive candle.
These are the reasons why I don't see Bitcoin going higher than $25,000 or maybe $30,000 this year.

Lots of negative news, lots of factors that causing the price of not only crypto market but stock market to either fall or remain sideways. Inflation still high and ETH merge might pump Ethereum and maybe other coins, but only in the short term. $21,000 to me seems achievable since we hit that price already many times, but right now, price of Bitcoin is now at the $20,000 price again after reaching the $22,000 price, dropped by almost 13% in a single day. The daily chart shows a green candle though so maybe we might see Bitcoin go up slowly again.

Yeah, just a single negative news will wipe out everything that we work, so from $22k to $18k because of the CPI report. And then we close the month just a shy above $20k. We have been trying to break $25k and yet we always failed because when the price is on a rally, suddenly one FUD will pop out, stopping our momentum.

So now we will enter a new month, and historically this is not a good month in a bear cycle. So I'm not seeing the price going higher than $22k and it could be another sideways for the rest of the month.
1758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 30, 2022, 02:36:02 PM
I would not risk at that kind of odds, I'd rather look for an odds of 1.50 over 1.03 even if there's a huge chance it will win, one of the reasons is that upsets do happen in any sports, especially in boxing. Well, just let us know the odds for Inoue winning by KO in less than 6 rounds, I think that would be more interesting.

Yes, we should wait for more betting options while the fight is approaching. For now, we only have limited options. I'm expecting the odds for Naoya Inoue winning by Knockout in less than 6 rounds is still low knowing Inoue is really good at that and has a good Knockout rate in early rounds.

High odds will be expected at Inoue winning by Decision or KO at late rounds which in reality, it's hard to bet on that options.

However, that's the challenge in betting. No way bookies will give an easy pick with a high odds in the first place.

Yeah, it's very challenging on our part because bookies are so smart, we thought it was easy to win but in reality we gamblers are losing more than we win. In this fight, we know Inoue will win, but the question is, what round ranges he would be able to stop Butler.

maybe the odds for Inoue winning via decision is very much attractive, so we can wait on the odds to be available.

Yeah, it could be 7.5 rounds or even less, but as the way they put the odds is going to be hard to choose. And as bettors we also go for the odds that we find very attractive by sometimes it's really a miss for us.

I don't think that the odds for Inoue winning a knock out could be high as well, everyone is expecting that he will win by this fashion. I think the decision win is tempting, but it's up to Butler if he can survived the power punching Naoya, so it's very tricky.

I thought that we are done with the Mt. Gox discussion because it's really a hot topic last August?

But in any case, we don't know if  the bottom is in, others say that yes, but there are still some who thinks that bitcoin can go as low as $10k-$15k, but it will have to happen next year.

So we will see, as for the altcoin, same movement, majority is like 80%-90% down from it's previous high but the bleeding might not stop.

What happens when this casinos go bankrupt and what happens when the run out of money? Investing in casino stocks has the highest risk even though it can as well be profitable. Although most of their stocks are moderate and seem affordable, starting out with cheap stocks like EIHDF which is about $1.22 will not stir up so much emotion in case things turns out sore. i thing casino stocks should be treated just the way crypto investment is treated in terms of risk management

Depends on what bankruptcy they filed, Chapter 7 or 11. But yeah, common stocks are going to be worthless, so there is a risk as well (and not like any other investment instrument for that matter).

And with that , it's not a sure thing even if the casino is raking billions because you really don't know. Maybe one day there will be some whales that is going to pull out their investments going their stocks to go down hard. Or the returns is not that good as compare to crypto market. And just because they are "casino" doesn't mean that their stocks are doing good.
