2041  Other / Meta / Re: PICISI (Philanthropic Investment and Charity for Inventions, Startups, an Ideas) on: May 17, 2015, 04:07:38 AM
Mind answering?

3. Armis if you want transparency you should be posting guarantees about WHO YOU ARE running this venture. Being anonymous is not the right move and sends up some pretty large red flags for me personally.

He always ignores this question.  Why does he have the need to be anonymous?  What is he planning that he doesn't want to be identified?  Undecided

IMHO you shouldn't force him to reveal himself. He has the right to be a pseudo-anonymous operator. The only concern is how he store cryptocurrencies. As long as he get a trusted partner who holds money, there won't be a problem. Also, I think he should rephrase his organization's(?) name. "Charity" in it is misleading.

Muhammed the company name is PICISI.  the phrase pertaining to the letters of the name when said out loud as a phrase "Philanthropic Investment and Charity for Inventions, Startups, an Ideas" tells you what the company is about what they do, its not designed for any single word to say what the business is, it's meant for all of the words as a phrase to say what the business is about.  Clearly not what most are used to but neither is cryptocurrency.

PICISI is a crowdfunding site under construction, PICISI is a business plan for a crowdfunding business, and PICISI is not a six word name for a company it's a one-word name with six letters PICISI pronounced (pick-easy).

I asked Vod to play out examples that he feels have exposure so that everyone could know in practical terms where risks exist and the degree of risk, but he ignored it.

So why don't you setup an example pertaining to PICISI where money, investors, customers, clients, and/or sponsors may be at risk of losing money dealing with PICISI.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but if your company is not a charity why are you using word charity there? I thought it was charity at first and the thread makes me confused...
2042  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: May 17, 2015, 03:43:11 AM
On this topic of double-posting and whatnot, what about posting the exact same information that someone has just posted above you.  I notice this from a lot of signature-advertizers.  Someone will give an answer to a question, then 4 more people will reanswer it with the same information in a new phrasing.  Not to single out MZ (it's just a relevant and handy example), but this just happened right above.   MZ writes:

If not, what is the best way to bring it to the attention of a moderator?

Thanks.

Click 'Report to moderator' button in lower right of the post you want to report and type the reason in the field in the loaded page.

This is two posts below this reply:

If not, what is the best way to bring it to the attention of a moderator?

Thanks.

I can't answer the questions (1) and (2), but on the bolded part (how to tell a mod), just click the "report to moderator" text you see at the bottom right of every post.  It's quite useful and (as far as I know) the mods appreciate the help.

This happens and I have seen it too. I replied to all questions in that post, well, I don't think that would be a spam. However, if a user, for example me, only reply to the last question, it will be a spam but sometimes it won't be a spam. Rephrasing post in simpler words if the first answer is complex or if there is additional valuable information won't be a spam but if a user does this a lot, then these posts will also be considered spam. Shorena already mentioned this:

-rephrasing-

Rephrasing is a form of spam. I collect those posts and report them to BadBear directly if a user does it constantly.

This sort of behavior is high in Beginners & Help.

If my HD doesn't have 60GB of available space, should I use MultiBit instead of Bitcoin-qt?

If you don't have enough space, it is better to use a thin client, Multibit or Electrum.

I don't like this feature. There shouldn't be a "default ignore list". The tastes of users are different and hence, their ignore list.

You can't compare default trust list with default ignore list. Those are basically two different things except both are "default".

If He doesn't have any super powers, then maybe you could turn to your wife for help.

The word "God" by definition suggests super powers. Perhaps you should turn to your wife for help.

Smiley

EDIT: If you are a woman, seek help from your husband?

I'm a woman and not married. I will turn to my mother as I see God in her as well.

God is the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority. For me this is the definition but I don't believe he has super powers because I haven't seen them nor do I believe in miracles.

I do believe that this earth also is a form of God, rain is a form of God, and the food I eat also is a form of God. I live on this earth, I get water from the rain, I am alive because of the food I eat. They keep me alive and for me, even my books are a form of God as I gain knowledge from them. God doesn't have a face or shape but he is in my heart.

Call my crazy or anything but I believe in God and not his super powers or magical powers.

I am not disproving you but bolded part suggests the god in your heart to have superpowers.

I liked this - "God doesn't have a face or shape but he is in my heart."

Most Muslims are probably reasonably peaceful, just like most other people.

The writings of Islam leave a door open for people who are not peaceful. How do Islamic Writings do this? By suggesting that violence is okay at some times, and required at other times. There are many examples listed at http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/023-violence.htm of violence listed in the Quran and elsewhere in Islamic writings. Here are several, translated:

I told that the religionofpeace site spread pure disinformation but I know you won't care as you want to spread hatred.......
Yes. There are verses with disinformation in that site. Islam isn't telling people to spread hatred and violence. That verses were about fighting at that time. There are many lies in that website.

Lies in that website?  Probably are a few somewhere, or at the least, misunderstandings.  Just like there are lies or misunderstandings on this thread about Islam by the faithful of Islam.

But let's look at the joyous peace of the last couple of days, as reported by www.thereligionofpeace.com.

2015.05.14 (Kojiti, Nigeria) - Boko Haram open fire on families preparing for bed, killing seven members.
2015.05.14 (Benghazi, Libya) - Seven children are among eight killed when the Islamic State fires a rocket into an apartment building.
2015.05.14 (Palmyra, Syria) - Twenty-six villagers are butchered by the Islamic State, including ten beheaded.
2015.05.14 (Kabul, Afghanistan) - Nine foreigners are among fourteen people massacred when the Taliban storm a guesthouse.
2015.05.14 (Mbau, DRC) - Twenty-three more villagers are hacked to death with machetes and hatchets by ADF Islamists.
2015.05.12 (Bankalaparha, Bangladesh) - Four fundamentalists hack a secular blogger to death with knives on charges of being an atheist.

I appreciate that they nicely handle the "Big Lie", that Islam is "a religion of peace."

I knew you would post this after I make that post. Like I said, they aren't instructed by Islam, they are doing it for their own political gains and can be seen easily but I don't think you can as you always have biased opinions and already setup your mind.

Judges to eye allegations of child sex abuse by French soldiers in Africa!!!

Link to video embedded image

Story highlights

  • Prosecutor announces judicial investigation of child sex abuse claims against French soldiers
  • Soldiers accused of raping, abusing children while deployed in Central African Republic.

A week after allegations of child sex abuse by French peacekeepers deployed to the Central African Republic rocked France, a Paris prosecutor announced that judges would investigate a number of people in the alleged rape and sexual abuse of minors.

The abuses were allegedly committed against a dozen hungry, vulnerable children at a displaced persons camp at M'Poko International Airport in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, between December 2013 and June.

In its statement, the Paris prosecutor's office announced "a judicial investigation against unnamed persons accused of charges of rapes on minors" aged under 15 years, or complicity in this, "by people abusing the authority conferred by their functions."

Investigating magistrates will now continue the investigation, it said. It did not state how many soldiers were under suspicion.

According to the Paris prosecutor's office, it was sent a confidential U.N. document by the French Ministry of Defense in July reporting the testimonies of six children ages 9, 11 and 13 about abuses at the M'Poko camp.

Four of the children said they were victims of sexual abuse by peacekeepers with France's Operation Sangaris, and two said they had witnessed abuse.

'Severely traumatized'

On receiving the document, the military affairs section of the Paris prosecutor's office immediately launched a preliminary investigation, its statement said, and sent investigators to the Central African Republic for a week in August. They carried out a number of interviews but have not yet interviewed any children in connection with the allegations.

The Paris prosecutor wanted to speak beforehand with the U.N. official who wrote the report, the statement said, and she agreed to come to Paris.

"The U.N. hierarchy, however, refused this hearing, indicating that the official benefited from an immunity that had to be lifted before any hearing," the statement said.

Eventually it was agreed that the official could complete a written questionnaire, which was returned to the Paris prosecutor's office last week, it said.

The director of an advocacy group that was sent a copy of the leaked U.N. report told CNN last week that French soldiers forced hungry, homeless young boys to perform sex acts on them in return for small amounts of food, water and sometimes some cash.

"The children were severely traumatized by the events," said Paula Donovan, co-director of AIDS-Free World.

Another thread about Islam, amazing! We should rename this section in "Islam & Islam" ... 'Politics & Society' is not more appropriate. //  just a little bit of sarcasm, why not.

I think Islam doesn't teach muslim to kill other people and no one of my friend or muslims that I know told me the contrary. So I think they can proclaim themselves muslim, but they are not muslims (in my point of view).

Quote
Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful.   And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone.  But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)"  (Translation is from the Noble Quran)  The verse prior to this (190) refers to "fighting for the cause of Allah those who fight you" leading some to believe that the entire passage refers to a defensive war in which Muslims are defending their homes and families.  The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, however, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries.  In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did).  Verse 190 thus means to fight those who offer resistance to Allah's rule (ie. Muslim conquest).  The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is disingenuous (the actual Arabic words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" - do not appear in the verse).  The word used instead, "fitna",  can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation.  This is certainly what is meant in this context since the violence is explicitly commissioned "until religion is for Allah" - ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.

Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."  Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time.  From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.

Because of these things written in the Quran, there are times when Muslims who do not fight are going against Islam.

Personally, since I am a rather peaceful person, I would not want to be Muslim, simply because there is that in the writings that seem to prescribe fighting and violence, and even hate.

Check the link. There are many other verses with explanation.

Smiley

What if a muslim that he is a person like me and you don't agree with these sentence? I think he will be a better muslim, because it is really no sense kill someone else in name of a God... really insane. I should read that book ( Quran and also the Bible) in their 'native' language to understand more better the sense.. the arab one for the Quran and ... what is the native language of the Bible?

The problem is: I do not know the Arab language  Lips sealed.

No two people agree on everything. And the things that they DO agree on, they still have slightly different understandings of. The point is that the world is made up of people who don't agree. Yet we all should live in peace, being patient with each other.

Regarding religion and peace, the written words of Islam suggest violence as well as peace. Most other religions writings suggest only peace. This can be a troublesome contradiction in the minds of knowledgeable Muslims. Which should they follow? Violence or peace? And when?

Smiley

Wrong. Even in Bible there is violence.

"When" has been clearly mentioned in Qur'an and hadiths. They should only fight when they are being attacked or they have no other choice -- conditions apply.

See the lie! Muslims were tortured and killed by non-Muslims and they had no choice other than to fight non-Muslims for their persistence. However, if the non-Muslims don't torture Muslims, there is no need to fight them.

Quran 2:192 - “But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Quote
Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

This verse is about Muslims who were turned out of their homes and families. If you read the verses you can see.

Quran 2:246 - “Hast thou not Turned thy vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses? they said to a prophet (That was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we May fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" but when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But Allah Has full knowledge of those who do wrong.”

Wrong. First of all, prophet didn't write Qur'an and secondly, Qur'an wasn't motivating people to kill or fight for nothing. Read the near verses and you will understand.

Because of these things written in the Quran, there are times when Muslims who do not fight are going against Islam.

I advice you to understand the risks involved in free Bitcoin sites before using them. There is an excellent EDU by shorena: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1044399.0.
