2101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 01, 2022, 09:08:29 PM
Right now, I think the 76ers are the better team to win right now in the East. I believe that Harden, Embiid and Maxey will be a good trio and add Tucker who is a great role player and defender. I also have doubts with the Nets as well. Will the chemistry as a team there after the drama that Kyrie and KD did? Will Simmons play the whole season and is there any changes in his playstyle? Let's just see during the regular season but I'm predicting the 76ers to win the East. Too early Cheesy.
I have different rankings when it comes to the East. Yes, the 76ers are a strong team now but I think the Miami Heat will be hungry again.
They've seen their weaknesses last season so now they know how to strengthen them. Plus, they are a young team with so much talent on their roster.
So it's either Heat or 76ers on the top and next to them are Celtics, Bucks, and Nets fighting for the 3rd.
But that's only for the season, the difference will be seen in the playoffs as the Heat are shaky when that event comes.

It's really hard to predict the East, if they are all healthy, I would agree that maybe the Sixers or Heat will be on top. And then Joel putting MVP numbers, but Butler being the leader of the Miami will push once more. And of course there is still Giannis, also putting great statistics and the big 3 of Nets seems to be enjoying their camp with KD, Harden and Simmons already saying praises for each other as if they have played together, Lol. Celtics might be the big underdog here, eventhough they have reach the finals, the shakeup in the organization might have put a dent on some of their players. Blake though might be good addition because Robert Williams is injured.
2102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 01, 2022, 08:52:41 PM

WBC and WBO super bantamweight Champion Stephen Fulton has shown interest in fighting the Bantamweight King Naoya Inoue if possible or if the latter moved up to 122lb. But if that didn't happen, Fulton can fight Murodjon Akhmadaliev instead to unify the Super Bantamweight title.

Just as I thought that the Champions in that division are waiting for Naoya Inoue. I think Inoue can crash these guys at the Super Bantamweight but of course, he just needs to fully prepare for that and don't rush everything.

The way I looked at Inoue, he is overqualified already to compete in the Super Bantamweight. Who's with me or against my idea? Smiley

Yes, I agree with you. We can say that Inoue's already overqualified in the Super Bantamweight and I don't have any doubts that he will just defeat the belt holders in the said division if he chose to climb there. There's not much difference because it's just 4 pounds or a kilo and a half from bantamweight, what I'm thinking is that Inoue will choose the featherweight instead.

And one advantage of Inoue is that his body seems to be on his prime and so it's easy for him to carry that 4 pounds South and still  be as destructed as in the current division that he is campaigning. And the champion are all waiting for him when he moves up to super bantamweight. Because they know that it will be a very difficult task for him because of Inoue's power, but it's like Inoue is the new kid on their block and they have to show who is the 'boss'. So it will be not easy for Naoya, and the champion as super bantamweight knows that it is a good payday for them as well.
2103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculators : Bitcoins is up now 21k buy buy buy ! but... on: September 30, 2022, 08:56:21 PM
It's hard to know for sure what triggered the intense selling that caused bitcoin's price to drop again in recent days. Therefore, seeing the bitcoin price currently hovering around $22k, it seems that the bitcoin price has the potential to go down again and move to the $20k area at the end of this month.
The price of Bitcoin is not something we can predict exactly the price. Because this price we are emphasising on, or lamenting every season, do we realize that the price of Bitcoin either it's on falling situation or rising situation, it's determine by the market condition. Actually the demands and supply in the market is what triggers the rising of bitcoins in market, and secondly i believe that when the demand is high the price of bitcoin will rise and when the demand is low the price of bitcoins will fall. And we have to observe this, that whenever we are fast approaching December the price of Bitcoin do rise

And then there is the factor of news, FUDs that have affected the market in a negative way.

The inflation report has just been released, Sept 13 and it didn't looks good at it put a huge dent on the market price, plummeting 10% pulling down the price to low $20,000 when we are just making a huge rally because of the ETH merge. Hopefully we can at least get back to our feet and reaches $21,000 before the end of the week so that we can make a run before this month end and closes on a positive candle.
These are the reasons why I don't see Bitcoin going higher than $25,000 or maybe $30,000 this year.

Lots of negative news, lots of factors that causing the price of not only crypto market but stock market to either fall or remain sideways. Inflation still high and ETH merge might pump Ethereum and maybe other coins, but only in the short term. $21,000 to me seems achievable since we hit that price already many times, but right now, price of Bitcoin is now at the $20,000 price again after reaching the $22,000 price, dropped by almost 13% in a single day. The daily chart shows a green candle though so maybe we might see Bitcoin go up slowly again.

Yeah, just a single negative news will wipe out everything that we work, so from $22k to $18k because of the CPI report. And then we close the month just a shy above $20k. We have been trying to break $25k and yet we always failed because when the price is on a rally, suddenly one FUD will pop out, stopping our momentum.

So now we will enter a new month, and historically this is not a good month in a bear cycle. So I'm not seeing the price going higher than $22k and it could be another sideways for the rest of the month.
2104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 30, 2022, 02:36:02 PM
I would not risk at that kind of odds, I'd rather look for an odds of 1.50 over 1.03 even if there's a huge chance it will win, one of the reasons is that upsets do happen in any sports, especially in boxing. Well, just let us know the odds for Inoue winning by KO in less than 6 rounds, I think that would be more interesting.

Yes, we should wait for more betting options while the fight is approaching. For now, we only have limited options. I'm expecting the odds for Naoya Inoue winning by Knockout in less than 6 rounds is still low knowing Inoue is really good at that and has a good Knockout rate in early rounds.

High odds will be expected at Inoue winning by Decision or KO at late rounds which in reality, it's hard to bet on that options.

However, that's the challenge in betting. No way bookies will give an easy pick with a high odds in the first place.

Yeah, it's very challenging on our part because bookies are so smart, we thought it was easy to win but in reality we gamblers are losing more than we win. In this fight, we know Inoue will win, but the question is, what round ranges he would be able to stop Butler.

maybe the odds for Inoue winning via decision is very much attractive, so we can wait on the odds to be available.

Yeah, it could be 7.5 rounds or even less, but as the way they put the odds is going to be hard to choose. And as bettors we also go for the odds that we find very attractive by sometimes it's really a miss for us.

I don't think that the odds for Inoue winning a knock out could be high as well, everyone is expecting that he will win by this fashion. I think the decision win is tempting, but it's up to Butler if he can survived the power punching Naoya, so it's very tricky.
2105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Bottom? on: September 30, 2022, 01:38:30 PM
I thought that we are done with the Mt. Gox discussion because it's really a hot topic last August?

But in any case, we don't know if  the bottom is in, others say that yes, but there are still some who thinks that bitcoin can go as low as $10k-$15k, but it will have to happen next year.

So we will see, as for the altcoin, same movement, majority is like 80%-90% down from it's previous high but the bleeding might not stop.
2106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing and the casino business. on: September 30, 2022, 11:49:15 AM
What happens when this casinos go bankrupt and what happens when the run out of money? Investing in casino stocks has the highest risk even though it can as well be profitable. Although most of their stocks are moderate and seem affordable, starting out with cheap stocks like EIHDF which is about $1.22 will not stir up so much emotion in case things turns out sore. i thing casino stocks should be treated just the way crypto investment is treated in terms of risk management

Depends on what bankruptcy they filed, Chapter 7 or 11. But yeah, common stocks are going to be worthless, so there is a risk as well (and not like any other investment instrument for that matter).

And with that , it's not a sure thing even if the casino is raking billions because you really don't know. Maybe one day there will be some whales that is going to pull out their investments going their stocks to go down hard. Or the returns is not that good as compare to crypto market. And just because they are "casino" doesn't mean that their stocks are doing good.
2107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 30, 2022, 11:19:48 AM

Best guess is that both camps are already training because their forecasted date is approaching fast, they only have less than 2 months left to prepare and train. Maybe that's the same reason why they are so silent these days after we received an information that they've already reached a deal.

They will only train if the fight is already official, there's no reason for them to train hard with their team if there's no announcement yet, unless they know it's going to happen and promoters are just waiting for the right time to announce, what I'm saying is, if they start training for nothing, they will just be wasting money.

the odds are already out so for sure they are already training hard for this. as of now, crawford is the favourite of the bookies having odds of 1.64-1.66, whereas, spence having 2.13-2.18 odds. so who do you think will go home with those belts? i guess, we need a poll on this thread so we can see the forum gamblers' opinion on this fight. this will be a lucrative fight for both boxers so they should not fail us to show a good toe-to-toe fight inside the ring.

You can ask OP to make a poll on this particular fight, for sure it will be a very close race and I'm not certain who will win although we already have an idea on the betting odds of this fight. Well, both are champions, since Spence is also very confident, then maybe betting on himself will probably give him more money.

Good question, I do hope that the OP will edit and put up a poll so the pulse of our boxing community. Nevertheless, I will have Crawford as my slight favorite in this fight because he is one of my fav boxer right. Overall I see him as being the stronger between the two.

Nevertheless we have our own opinion and even if the odds are in Crawford's way, for sure there are bettors here who are going for Spence Jr because he has a good resume and tougher opponents.
2108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Three questions for old crypto fans on: September 29, 2022, 08:51:47 PM
Is it normal to invest in projects that VC's invested money on?

Of course, it's just riding the coat tail of those VC's, like copy trading, the question is how and where do you find those VC and what project they are investing?

And also can we see another top project in the rank of 1 to 20 failed like that of Luna? For those who have been here since 2016 do new altcoins always replace the present top 20 altcoins every crypto cycle?

That's always been the case, some projects suddenly went to the top 1-20 like BNB and ADA. And for the Luna case, there could be as we know that market is too risky and volatile and we don't know the people behind. If there intentions are real like Do Kwon, who gain the trust and reputation, but his project collapse right in front of us.
2109  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 29, 2022, 08:34:11 PM
its almost  a week before the September sentiments will be proclaimed yet the votes seemingly divided into 2?

wondering what would be coming as the 25k is hardly to reach within the week time .

and also there are several threads that talking about market continuously dumping as the month going to end.

but of course there is a more to come in October and of course till december.
I believe we can still close closer to 25k. It's over 20k right now and it looks green for the whole week, nothing bad happened. It means that we could see it go 1k more and that would make it over 20k and that’s closer to 20k then 15k.

Nah, I don't see $25k near the horizon at the end of the month. And I'm not sure as well if we are going to hit $20k since the market is around $19,400-$19,500. But it's good though to see the price above $19k, as last week we are barely holding on that price.

It’s clear that it has been quite 50-50% for all of us and that is why it was hard to decide, I can't say what was the main reason and how it got here, it’s clear that we had some hard time. Market failed to decide, how could we? It has been over and under 20k multiple times which means that market is not sure about seeing it closer to one than the other as well, if people are not sure about it with their money, how could they be sure here.

It's almost 50/50 because that's how majority see the market movement. There is no break out run, yeah we went as high as $22k and then trying to break the next barrier of $25k. But there is no momentum and it's a bull trap if we are going to look at at. And so let's look forward for October, but let me start that I'm also not seeing any major price jump and break out runs.
2110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing and the casino business. on: September 29, 2022, 08:17:18 PM
Who wouldn't want to buy stocks not just from casino's that are very successful, but blue chips companies as well. But there are crypto enthusiasts here not keen about stocks and would rather stay with crypto. And if I'm not mistaken, some casinos that we know allowed investors, but I'm not sure how profitable it is in the long run. If I'm not mistaken, there is someone who try to experiment on investing on crypto based casino and post his monthly or yearly returns here. I'm also not aware that you need millions to invest on casinos, I thought that even average joe can buy stocks from them.
2111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 29, 2022, 04:39:22 PM
Dragic might be an additional motivation but in terms of rotation Caruso and Ball are both good facilitating
the ball and create plays for the team.

Not sure if what will be the impact of Dragic, maybe a bit, but with the healthy stars, Bulls already have the chemistries
they just need to limit the injuries so they can push for more wins and advanced to the East finals.

They really need some guy like Dragic to fill some spots because their problem last season was injuries one after another until they cannot hold on anymore and finally lose the first round of the NBA playoffs. That's exactly where their problem is, and if they can rest well their star players with the addition of some free agents, they might have a high chance to get back in the playoffs and pass the first round. With the star players that were injured last season returning this time, they will gonna have a hard time getting back there again.

Their main point guard is still injured so he needs someone to fill some spots. Not saying that Dragic will replace Ball in the Bulls lineup, they still have Coby White and Caruso as some point to distribute the ball. But a presence of a savvy veteran will help their young point guard. Yes, it was difficult for the Bulls to exit in the first round because they have a good season in the beginning until one by one they got injured. But going to the playoff last season was a good experience already, because that's the first time they have been in the playoff since the D'Rose era if I'm not mistaken.
2112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 29, 2022, 04:21:19 PM
After a long wait, finally, we could now our beloved "Angas ng Pinas" fighting back as he said he will be fighting Ryo Akaho on December 3,2022 in Japan but no confirmation yet from the promoter but I think he can be trusted on this one. So, it's official that he will be moving up in weight as they will be fighting at the super bantamweight division and I think Inoue will be watching this one as it will happen in his country.

See below youtube link for more info.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzbNNPKVM7A&ab_channel=PowcastSports

That's good to hear that Casimero is finally back in the right, but let's see, we have to wait for the final announcement of this fight. And moving up is the only thing to do for him so that he can move forward, obviously his body can't make the bantamweight as he had health issues and the losing his belt to Butler. Definitely, Inoue will be watching this one as they are supposed to fight in the bantamweight for the unification. Hopefully Casimero will win and be back being the brandish that he is.
2113  Economy / Speculation / Re: October price guess on: September 28, 2022, 09:52:34 PM
But, I can see it start to go up and that's going to be an important situation for all of us. If we can start to go up, then November will be even easier and then December as always would be a great month where we could break over our ATH. People are seeing how it hasn't been over ATH for over a year and imagine it would be very hard for us to reach there, but the reality is that it takes like 2 months give or take to break over ATH if we reach to a bull run.

And that is the big question, it's not like we are in a bull run wherein the price will go on a big rally before the end of the year and then new ATH.

This time the market is very bearish, the world has problems with inflation, dollar is weakening, there is the war in the background that continue to affect us. So I don't think the October will likely see a good bounce, There could be no significant movement, $22k could be the highest and then the bottom could be around $18k-$19k.
2114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Kwon on the run, Binance becomes the target of the LUNC community. on: September 28, 2022, 09:33:05 PM
I'm also under the impression that Do-Kwon is in South Korea and in the police custody pending the investigation. So if he is on the run then obviously he is guilty in the public court of law. I mean why would he hide if he didn't do nothing wrong? (that is according to him).

As for CZ, maybe he had backlash on this one, but I don't think he is concern of losing traders in his platform. He is on top right now so doesn't matter, there will be more traders that are going to sign up with Binance no matter what the issues is.
2115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 28, 2022, 09:16:28 PM
Who do you think is the best number one of all time?

Pete Sampras, Jimmy Connors, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, or Rafael Nadal? (maybe another one?)

Sampras still has the impressive record of being the number one player for 6 continuous years.
I wasn't so much into tennis in Sampras time so I don't really remeber any big rivalries for him other than Agassi and he had quite good H2H with him in the end.

Murray would have made so much more in any other time than this. I don't think tennis ever had something similar to level of performaces the big four produced before becoming the big three. Any one of them would have had it so much easier if competition wasn't that good. That is why it is so difficult to compere player from different eras.
Can we give a little appreciation to the woman players as well.
Maria and Sefty Graff
What an amazing woman they were too

Of course, we appreciate women too, Serena and Venus Williams had a great battle with Swiss Miss Martina Hingis and then Maria Sharapova. Those are the times that the women side can rival the mens are far as intensity and the number of fans watching their battle in the court.

Steffi Graf and Monica Seles, who would forget the stabbing incident on her?

And along the line there are a lot of women like Lindsay Davenport, Justin Henin, Kim Clijsters, Jennifer Capriati and Mary Pierce.
2116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 28, 2022, 03:40:49 PM
Their head coach will not be replaced if he does not commit a violation.

he was suspended for this coming season
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/23/boston-celtics-suspend-head-coach-ime-udoka-for-upcoming-season.html

So let the assistant coach handle the job, and let's see if he can still make Celtics a great team.
Let's hope so.
Here's a statement of Joe Mazzulla.
Quote
"It's not about carrying on from one person," Mazzulla said during the team's media day here in the Boston suburbs. "It's about carrying on the identity of our players. We had our struggles early last season, but at our best, we knew what our identity was. It was our defense, it was our buy-in from a defensive standpoint, and then it was sharing the ball and moving quickly on the offensive end.
"So as much as we can stick to the things we were great at last year, and then find areas to improve along the way, I think is the right way to go."
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34671406/jaylen-brown-boston-celtics-set-put-our-best-foot-forward-interim-coach-joe-mazzulla
Marcus Smart:
Quote
"Joe has been here. He knows the scheme, he knows the players, so it makes it a little bit more easier to adjust to a guy that's been here and knows you."
I doubt they will have a problem with Joe. 3 years being an assistant coach from Brad Stevens to Udoka.
Most players of the Celtics know him as they didn't change their roster that much. This could be Joe's time to shine if ever he manages to put the Celtics in a good position this season.

Yeah, I guess he really knows the player very well, it's just a matter of adjustment for them because of his new role. And I guess it's more on the players side, the scandal took a toll on them.

And so we will see how the Celtics will do and hopefully the same system will bring them to the finals once again. And yeah, it's time for him to show that he can be a lead coach and maybe see some improvements under Joe this new season.
2117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 28, 2022, 03:09:53 PM
Floyd won another exhibition match in Japan,

I have forgotten about that fight, thanks for reminding. Another easy money for Floyd. Google says that Floyd would get 20 millions if he competes and 30 if he wins that fight, and most funny, 1.5 million if he appears on a press conference. Surprisingly, this exhibition fight last more than 1 round.

Damn, 20 - 30 million is a dream money fight for some of the elite boxers that we have right now, Canelo is still the cash cow, but GGG get around that money fighting him. So just imagine those lower weight class champion, I doubt that they can get around how much Floyd is making in exhibition fight in like 6 minutes.
I'm also curious though if the organizers can really get more than what they gave? $30 Million is already a huge money, a money that a lower weight class champion cannot even earn in a year.

They'll get more if they sold more tickets.
Regardless though, these organizers will not pursue exhibition matches if they don't get a handsome profit from it. May it be they get more than what the boxer gets or the other way around, they are still earning millions.
Put Mayweather or Pacquiao or anyone who's retired and formerly dominates in any combat sports in the ring for an exhibition match, and we can easily tell it's a guaranteed money.

Logically right! Promoters will not spend time and effort just to pay the fighter's check but for making decent money,
they continue to bring exhibition fights to earn as simple as that.

Look how Mayweather collecting easy money from those fights that he made, and now,
we will see also Pacquiao doing his own versions of exhibition.

Maybe the difference is Pacquiao announces that the profits will go to the chosen charity while for Mayweather every
sweat means a huge amount of dollars.

I think we will see Pacquaio doing the same exhibition match with small twist like the profits for charity and other thing to help his people. But I guess he will have to make some money as well. So just imagine fighting in less than the usual 12 rounds and brutal fighting in professional fight, you can earn the same or even higher in an exhibition match. So it's logical and make sense for Mannny and obviously, he will do that because he has a schedule with some Youtuber from South Korea and his former sparring partner in the Middle East also slated. And maybe go to Japan and fight too for bigger purse and money.
2118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 26, 2022, 12:41:23 AM
I don't think Butler's skill should be underestimated.  Yes, in the upcoming battle, he is potentially very much inferior to the Japanese.

However, Butler is an experienced and strong fighter.  If he does not lose personal courage and fights with all his strength, then he has a chance to win.  Butler is very unpredictable.  It is not for nothing that this boxer is called the Killer, who has a childish face.  He can outsmart the Japanese.

If the Japanese boxer relaxes, then Butler can launch a surprise attack that will lead to a technical knockout.  Such an option now seems completely unbelievable, but it is possible.

I understand your point there. However, we can't really hide the fact that Butler doesn't have any advantage in this fight. I don't know on what part you consider Butler's experience as an advantage over Inoue. You also called him a strong fighter. And lastly, he is very unpredictable. Might be true if it's against other opponents but we are talking about against Naoya Inoue here.

Didn't you know that all those traits you mentioned were already in Naoya Inoue even before? And there are lots.

That was the reason he was called "The Monster".

I don't think he is also predictable, and his chin is suspect already, Zolani Tete floored Butler in their fight and I think Inoue as this point is the hardest puncher in the bantamweight division.

Yes, he has the experience, but how can he take that against Inoue is the question. Is he going to be aggressive and control the fight, what if he taste Inoue's power?

So again, we are not saying that Butler is not good, of course he is a champion, but Inoue has more tools in his arsenal that is hard to counter by a boxer with Butler's caliber (and experience if we think this is a advantage).

It's pretty obvious that our worst gambling day would have a affected us somewhat in our life. From having severe relationship with someone or maybe not putting food in the table.

For me I can't count what's my worst gambling day that resulted in something like this. But I know that it had dire consequences for me, like not going to work because you can't sleep because you lose some big money and you can to think and cover it because it could be disastrous in my end.

But with all this heavy threats on the crypto industry it is no longer safe to allow newbies venture into crypto business without a well structured knowledge about the dangers ahead. Things are no longer the way it was when the whole idea of digital currencies and assets were coined out. It is only safe to tell people only about Bitcoin and warn them about the dangers of the crypto market when the intend to broaden their portfolio

But it's safe to say as well that it's not just the crypto industry that is not safe for newbies, everything that talks about money is not safe for everyone. It's that crypto is the latest thing and in the last 5 years it become so successful that scammers make this as their paradise as there are a lot of naive investors in the market. The don't do any investigations, they just listed to influencers and believed them. And we just have to think that this is our hard earn money so we need to be careful where we are going to invest it here.
