2321  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Hiring Discord Moderator from @Saruc on: March 29, 2023, 10:19:41 PM
My discord just got hacked, after contacting him 1 days ago.
Was your password changed or what?

MORE THAN 20 PEOPLE MESSAGED FROM BITCOINTALK ,NOBODY HAD A PROBLEM ONLY YOU
Did you ''hire'' anyone from all this 20 people, and who applied exactly?
I wonder where are they now and why don't they jump into your defense, they must be some reputable members, not newbies.
Look buddy, you didn't explain anything about job you are offering in your topic, except payment rate, and you just came back after long  inactivity, so it's hard to trust anything you say.

2322  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wake up from long inactive period and open hiring thread. Careful with scam on: March 29, 2023, 10:10:07 PM
saruc woke up from a long period of inactivity and opened a Hiring discord mods! with good salary $150/week.

Be careful. It's scam.
Looks like it was some kind of phishing scam like ryzaadit reported, but I don't understand how they can hack discord accounts like this unless he clicked something.
I would suggest everyone to be careful with discord and telegram, clicking any links and entering their login details.

The scam accusation thread is inconclusive IMO as ryzaadit cannot prove saruc was the hacker, but it does seem likely it could be the case.
I don't know how often he uses discord, but I heard there was cases of account getting hacked in similar way, and it's strange coincidence that he just joined this ''moderator job'' offer.
2323  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: March 29, 2023, 09:46:33 PM

2324  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: A virus infected laptop, how safe? on: March 28, 2023, 10:53:37 PM
Based on recent history and findings, do you think that OneKey and their team seem like competent and knowledgeable developers because they are working with open-source software? Unencrypted and obtainable communication between OneKey chips shows they weren't up to the task. Luckily, the right people found the vulnerability and helped in patching it.
We know about this bug ONLY because this is open source software.
In case of ledger and other closed source devices this could happen 100 times and we would never hear anything about this because of signed NDA's.
OneKey so far mostly copied work from Trezor, but they recently started to move their own direction, they released new software wallet, and it was expected for bugs to happen.
I recently listened one OneKey Classic review and interview with OneKey team member,  so it's not a bad ide to spend some time to watch this:

2325  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Old phone as cold storage? on: March 28, 2023, 10:39:01 PM
It's usually not very hard to remove the antenna on smartphones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICV7vPF9mPE
It's even more easier to do it if you have modular smartphone like Fairphone, they can be totally disassembled to parts, including antenna.

But if you can't do it you can destroy/damage the SIM card slot in order to avoid someone from your home or a burglar to use it. And if you can't easily access it on your phone, you can just put some glue into it.
That might not be enough with new smartphones, because most of them have eSIM that can be downloaded and installed, so there is no physical card slow to glue.
Even worse news are coming from Apple who are planning to fully remove card slot and use only eSIM in future.
If Apple really starts doing it, than you know most other brands will follow like always.

Maybe so, but there is also WiFi, Bluetooth, RFID, NFC, and other connectivity modules to consider too. Disabling all of them without breaking the phone is difficult. It is far easier to start with an old laptop which does not have the majority of these at all and then just remove the WiFi card.
Most of this can easily be disabled with Airplane mode, so it's not that hard, unless you want to permanently remove them.
Laptop is better for many things, but you can't disable or remove anything unless you have specific models (example old Thinkpads), most laptops today (sadly) have almost everything soldered on board.

2326  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: March 28, 2023, 10:22:20 PM
Don't. I just lost about $50 in Bitcoin after using the Stack Wallet wallet. Don't use this wallet while it's still in the early development stages.
I think this could be the issue with derivation paths, but you should be able to recover seed words to any other bitcoin wallet with same format.
Mobile wallets are not ideal and I would never keep any significant amount of coins with them, especially if they are in early development phase.

Stack wallet released new version called Stack Duo that is only used for Bitcoin and Monero.
I think this is perfect solution to avoid complications with other shitcoins, and people can still use full version with other coins if they want.
Please note that Stack Duo is currently pre-release version, and I don't suggest anyone to use it a s their main wallet, this is still testing ground.

2327  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: You should write two copies of your seed phrase. on: March 28, 2023, 10:11:01 PM
Paper can be really fragile, and all it takes is a tear or water spill or defacing to deny you access to your BTC forever.
You are inventing the wheel all over again  Cheesy
We all know that paper is easy to get damaged, burned or destroyed by water, but that can happen to all your paper copies.
It's much better to use secondary backup option something more substantial, made from stainless steel, it can be washers or metal plates, whatever you prefer.

So, you should make a second copy of your seed phrase that is identical to the first, and store it on a different place from the first seed so that they both cannot go down together except in extreme circumstances like a natural disaster.
I wouldn't stop at only two copies, because three is better than two.
Adding one or more passphrase is also a good suggestions, and multisig setup is even better.

it is kinda worrying leaving your seeds somewhere someone can find but for sure there are solutions. This is the real risk of crypto currencies.
Your brain is much worse place to keep anything important, especially something like seed words.
This is the real risk of human body experience, and you wouldn't be the first to lose coins for trusting your brain so much.
2328  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ledger nano with electrum - from old to new PC on: March 28, 2023, 10:01:19 PM
Actually, the newest Bitcoin app that they released a few weeks ago is smaller. The size shrank from 62kb to 56kb if I remembered the numbers correctly. I was surprised to see it.
Maybe that is true for latest version, but I am hearing complains from other people that apps for other coins increased a lot in size, for example BCH shitcoin app increased around 15 to 20 times.
I don't if it is somehow possible to check size of all apps and change before update, without installing and testing them individually.
For people who use only Bitcoin this doesn't matter much (yet).

One good news for ledger users is that Fido 2 should be supported in ledger now, that can be useful for everyone:

2329  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: March 28, 2023, 08:58:48 PM
2330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: I just got an android on: March 27, 2023, 10:13:32 PM
Now can someone please tell me the best android bitcoin wallet software? Thx.
Bitcoin.org website is offering several options for Bitcoin Android wallets, including few of them that fork with some shitcoins.
Blue wallet is missing from that list and it's not a bad wallet, but don't use any closed source wallets please, and maybe best option is to combine Android wallet with your hardware wallet for better security.
Otherwise, I wouldn't keep any significant amount of coins on any smartphone hot wallet.

2331  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance sued by CTFC on: March 27, 2023, 09:51:38 PM
Someone is going to get arrested, or at least HEAVILY fined.
FUD incoming and doors are slowly closing... I will stay neutral in this case, I don't support Binance and I don't support government, they are both liars.
Funny thing is they collected all this chat information from Signal app that is supposed to be ''better'' than other alternatives in preserving privacy, so it makes you think twice before using this app.
Minimal thing anyone can do is to withdraw all the coins to non-custodial wallet, and use decentralized exchange alternatives.
If this happened with Binance US, can you imagine what is happening with Binance.com?  sAfU Cheesy

2333  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Non KYC virtual cards (support Apple Pay and Google Pay) on: March 27, 2023, 09:27:07 PM
The service is based in Hong Kong and works since 2019.
Strange that I never heard about it and I follow most news and services related with non-kyc cards, both virtual and physical.
Maybe the reason could be that you were focused more on Asian market, but reading on your website FAQ page I can clearly see you are asking for KYC verification with ID card or passport!
I don't understand why calling something non-kyc when it's not  Tongue

https://bitfree.us/faq

The cost of the virtual card: 200 USDT
That is very expensive, and why using USDT for receiving payments instead of Bitcoin?
I know several services that are much cheaper or they give free virtual cards without any kyc.

Fee for deposit crypto to internal acc in the app: 0% (free)
Fee for Top UP the card from internal balance: floating (usually around 4.1%)
Fees for top up balance could be lower, or at least add lower fees for VIP users.

Are you offering only virtual or there are physical cards as well??
I am reading FAQ page and I see there are ATM mentioned, POS card swipe, etc.
2334  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✅ [ANN] Bettercallraul.it No KYC Crypto Exchange | LOW FEES & Private | CLI ✅ on: March 27, 2023, 08:53:49 PM
I did some testing with your exchange website and I received some strange results when I tried to exchange 1 billion Monero to Bitcoin and exchange showed me I should receive 5723759999.999827 Bitcoins.
Nobody has this amount of coins for exchanging and I think limitation should be added on main page with Maximum and Minimum amount of coins.
After I entered random BTC address I was redirected to new page and shown amount of 1 Monero that should be exchanged for 0.0243334776 BTC, without to option to change anything, and I can't go back to change amount.
I tried with other amounts/coins and I always get number 1 to be exchanged with same results, with Mix/Max amount shown only on this page  if I remember correctly.
This should be fixed.

Few more questions:
- Are you working with other centralized exchanges, and can coin be seized by you or third party in any way?
- How can people find your onion address link? (I can't find it anywhere)
2335  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism Vs Scam on: March 27, 2023, 08:09:07 PM
I think that they pretty much decided what to do in those cases. Tricky part is to prove that someone actually used chatbot, but if you manage to do that I don't think that mods/admins will hesitate too much.
Yeah it is tricky, but we already found several tools that can help us to identify how likely is that some posts are generated by AI, and if they all show high percentage than case is closed.
However, I would not be so easy on banning every member for this before double checking, discussing with other members and hearing what others have to say.
Anyone who was suspected of using AI post generation multiple times should be punished somehow, maybe temp ban first instead of permaban would be better.

btw does anyone know how AI text generation is working for languages other than English?
2336  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I've created website with over 250 links to most useful platforms in crypto on: March 27, 2023, 07:59:11 PM
I think you should move this topic to Project Development section or Service Announcements board.
Beginners & Help section is usually being used for asking question and not for presenting new services.

I have few suggestions for cryptohomepages website:

- Add more hardware wallets like Passport, Bitbox, Coldacard, Onekey, Coolwallet, Blockstream Jade, Satochip, etc.  (Find full list here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5285324.0)
- Add more Bitcoin related services and wallets, for example I can't fine Electrum or Sparrow wallet.
- Add Bitcoin forums like Bitcointalk and others.
2337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: using same address twice on: March 26, 2023, 09:46:50 PM
I don't think it's always a good thing actually because when you always use a new address for any transaction, you can't manage easily your UTXOs. And when you need to spend one for paying something it can be joined with another one you didn't want to use for that transaction, if you don't pay attention. If you use an UTXO coming from a KYC platform it can be bad for your anonymity. If it comes from a darknet transaction, a mixer, a casino, a sex shop or something like that, it could hurt your privacy. While when you dedicate one address to one platform/use case and you label it rightly you are less likely to make this kind of mistake.
Sure you don't have to use new address each time when you are receiving $1 worth of bitcoin or some small amount, but I find very handy to have many addresses with $30, $50 or $100 worth of BTC, it's better to use coin control and spent them separately for any payments.
Good address management is needed for this and I suggest adding labels for addresses and transactions, but it's not hard to join them when needed, convert them to Lightning Network, or swap with other coins.
I didn't say anyone should generate new addresses for same platform multiple times, one is enough.
2338  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: A virus infected laptop, how safe? on: March 25, 2023, 11:07:04 PM
As dkbit98, mentioned, you can't enter your PIN or a passphrase on a Trezor One. You have to use the Trezor Suite for that. A keylogger tracking your keyboard entries and recording your screen could be a real danger because of that. On the other hand, if you use a Trezor T or a Ledger device, than the mentioned entries are done on the hardware wallet itself. The keylogger wouldn't have any data to log. Unless you have saved your PIN/seed/passphrase somewhere digitally, and you are opening that file. But that's something you shouldn't be doing anyways.
That being said, I never heard a single case of someone getting scammed with Trezor model One like this, but in theory it could happen.
I wouldn't trust anything coming from Ledger since they are closed source black box and they could have several flaws related with this and we never heard about it because they have signed NDA.
There are several forks of Trezor One (OneKey, ProKey, KeepKey, etc), and I am not sure how they are dealing with this issue with infected laptop.

2339  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: March 25, 2023, 10:58:39 PM
I counted them here, but didn't post the list. These are for instance all 0.128 BTC addresses that had their balance change that day
Do you know what is total amount of Bitcoin in those addresses?
I think official report said that $46 million in cryptocurrency was seized, but I don't remember they ever said exact amount of Bitcoin they control now.
With today value of Bitcoin that is around $46 million is around 1663 BTC.

Well that wouldn't be anything new. Apparently the German authorities are already doing this, with other coins seized.
I know this is nothing new, US government sold seized Bitcoin on auction several times, and I am sure other governments are doing the same thing.
Something is ''tainet'' as long as they say it's tainted, what a stupid concept, and many people still believe in this crap.
