681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your security is our top priority! on: September 16, 2023, 12:45:17 PM
This should be an announcement thread of yours but it seems that you want to discuss in here because it's placed on gambling discussion.

While it's truly a top priority of most casinos for the sake of their customers. They have to give that confidence that gambler's money and deposits are all safe.

But on this term, having a high security shouldn't be just on words. It's easy to say that a casino has a top notch security but you'll never know what's next.

To be honest, adding a 2-FA is one of those security measures that has been overlooked. While it may sound simple, it provides such extra layer of security that defeats any kind of scam attempt due to having another device in order to confirm a given transaction.

Though this may be the case, I do hope that there is another layer of security on top of the 2-FA for maximum control. While 2-FA is proven to be an excellent source of security, adding another top of layer would make it impossible for someone to hack or infringe on this.

682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't wait for the bottom without buying in the Dip. on: September 15, 2023, 05:49:24 PM
If the OP looks at the current Bitcoin (BTC) price movement, yes, it can be said to be a bit boring and on the other hand the effect makes many investors still wary of further declines. Well, I tried at Point D only. this is the safest and most comfortable in my opinion. My reason is because if someone buys current for long term hodling this is not a problem which means for him. Precisely those who want to take a new entry should think further and if there are investors who feel uncomfortable with the fluctuations in the crypto market, then they might consider taking a break first while staying informed of course.

I do recommend people to purchase BTC as soon as they discovered its existence.

From basing it purely on its price history index, the trend of its price is increasing. Even if there are occasional dips, the trend still remains upwards due to its inflationary nature. Given that the fork is coming, it is highly recommended for everyone to stock BTCs in order to take advantage of its sudden price increase on the future.

Though this may be the case, always consider your investments as something that should be protected. Even if this is the case for BTCs, investments are not "magic" that can give you a guaranteed profit.
683  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What motivated you to join the forum? on: September 15, 2023, 05:33:22 PM
I want to announce to you that if you are only here because you want to make quick money, then you may mostly likely not make the money and here will be so boring to you because you will reveal that tendency and the OGs will notice you.
Some of the older people can share their experience as regards to how they started, maybe we all can learn somethings too.

I remember, I joined this forum due to a recommendation from my close friend way back in college (2017). He told me that there was an opportunity to earn money online and at the convenience of my home. At first, I was so focused on earning money that I completely neglected the basics and fundamentals of cryptocurrencies. Funny thing is, I do not even know how to make money and what cryptocurrencies are.

Along the way, as I read various threads regarding cryptocurrency, I discovered its true gem and purpose practically. Slowly, I got accepted into various campaign signatures and that helped me and my family at least alleviated the expenses for my education.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia will ban Gambling through credit cards on: September 15, 2023, 04:44:32 PM
I'm not someone who advocates bans and I'm more in favor of everyone using their money the way they want, but it seems that there comes a time when people need to be protected from themselves. Gambling should be fun and with a sense of responsibility, but when things get out of control and someone spends more than they earn, it becomes a problem.

Things spiral out of control when gamblers have their judgement clouded due to the sheer amount of losses they have incurred. Majority of these gamblers also experience what we call "gambler's cycle" wherein they tend to recover their gambling losses by gambling again. This creates an endless cycle of them winning/losing, ultimately losing money in the long run.

Quote
The positive thing here is that Australia is actually giving up part of the income it gets from taxes considering the total amount its residents spend every year on gambling, to protect them from themselves. However, those who want to gamble will always find a way to do so, despite the bans.

No matter how many laws may be implemented, if a person is truly hungry for gambling, they will definitely find a way to continue. I guess the best of course of action may be providing better execution of laws and prohibitions to prevent these from happening.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hacker Attack Landbase Casino Caesar’s & MGM (LasVegas) on: September 15, 2023, 02:56:11 PM
......
The hack also leaked customer data like (Social Security, etc). What do you think? last week we had (Stake) hacked and now land base casino just got attacked. It's there some chance we have an insider person for these cases?

By these cases? do slot can be manipulated ?

This is very interesting- normally you see gambling websites or exchanges being hacked online due to its nature. Very rarely do you see people hacking a physical casino due to the risks involved with it. I wonder on how can these perpetrators receive the cash on the slots. Perhaps they can manipulate it to some advantage where betting can be one-sided? Still, the risks involved is greater compared if you do it online.

Well from the link that you have provided, I think this is concrete proof that even land-based casinos can be hacked. Though I am not just sure on how their network got compromised in the first place.
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approach? on: September 15, 2023, 12:29:32 PM
Different people with different approach to gambling. Some prefer committing huge capital to high probability small odds while others prefer using small capital to target big wins. There are many reasons for each of these approaches.

While those that put huge capital win more often, their losses are usually painful. On the other hand, those that commit small capital to make huge wins rare win but when they do, they win big; their losses too are less painful. There are other advantages and disadvantages for both approaches but for the sake of this discussion, let's know which approach you think is better and why?

It really depends on your budget and goal on why you are gambling in the first place.

Typically, people gamble primarily for profit. This is the reason on why that people who chase profits in a risky environment only end up losing their money at the end of the process. On the other hand, people who gamble primarily for fun has the discipline in controlling both their finances and emotions.

In conclusion, if you gamble for fun, then the amount of capital is immaterial whether it may be big or small. If you chase for profits, then it is up to you if you are the type of person who wants an "all or nothing" method or a slow-burn method.
687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of country can offer you legal gambling in 2023! on: September 14, 2023, 04:50:38 PM
I found out from google that gambling is legal in some number of countries and still banned in many countries.
......
What do you feel from this that gambling is less ethical?

Remember that some countries prohibit certain activities as it goes against their morals and religion.

For example, Muslim countries prohibit gambling as it is against their religion and they believe it as a sin. Others prohibit gambling due to its moral damage to the society in which it further applies more risk to its people. While this may be the case, there are some countries that see gambling in a 2-way perspective: one as an activity and one as an economic opportunity.

In the Philippines, the revenue of gambling activities ranked 2nd to our main source of income for the country. With this in mind, the country uses these income to fund various government sectors and for the benefit of the society.
688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council on: September 11, 2023, 05:48:49 PM
https://protos.com/owner-of-8k-bitcoin-lost-in-landfill-threatens-to-bankrupt-local-council/

I think him lashing out at the city council and threatening to sue them doesn't make bitcoin look good. wherever his hard drive is, if it's in that trash dump i don't see how even a data recovery expert could get anything off of it. it's probably been crushed, cracked, corroded, etc. lost cause. his big mistake was throwing it away in the first place but that was his fault no one elses. he lost those bitcoin a long time ago. and they're not coming back.  Shocked

While I do understand that 8,000 BTCs is a lot of money (like a lot), still, requesting for the City Council to dig up a site may cause environmental effects that can potentially harm others. His mistake of throwing the hard-drive should be construed as negligence on his part for doing such thing. He just cannot blame the government for refusing to dig up on the site on the very same accident he did to himself.

This is just a desperate attempt to at least feel sorry for himself. Assuming that they indeed recover the drive, there is no guarantee that it may work; nor the drive containing all the files in a recoverable position.
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of advice is worth giving such people? on: September 11, 2023, 05:09:24 PM
I have read some painful stories online about Bitcoin fans that lost their Bitcoin to hacks more than once and how they gave up because of the hacks, this made me curious about people on the forum, I will like to ask you guys how many times you have lost Bitcoin to hacks or your own mistakes, and why are you still not giving up.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?

Most of the people who got hacked were also the ones who put themselves in the situation of hacking. For example, people would start clicking random e-mail requests from various users and they would also invest in ponzi-schemes in which this increases their chance of getting hacked.

While I do understand that some of these people are newbies to begin with, they should at least be more extra careful especially when they are dealing with this kind of tricks that is somehow obvious to the eye.

Quote
Like a story about an American who lost his love for Bitcoin because of the hacks, I believe it's because of his own carelessness though, because you can't leave your wallet on a bench outside your home and not expect someone to steal it, and you come out and say your wallet was stolen by a thief, like what do expect?

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?

Better be safe than sorry- always doubt random links that are being sent. If someone adds you on their profile, be doubtful and think of being defensive to prevent any kind of scam or whatsoever.
690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: September 11, 2023, 04:54:13 PM
To those places that have practiced this, mostly they're not an actual casino. They're just like a one-day setup betting local place and then after the event, they're all gone after all.

Yes, not long ago I thought cockfighting gambling had become extinct in my country, but recently I saw the news where the police had arrested many gamblers there and turned chickens and money into evidence, it turns out that all this time they had been playing in the middle of the interior forest so it was difficult for the police to detect gambling. like this, but in fact it can still be traced and the gamblers involved are arrested.

This is interesting- the lengths that these people do just to satisfy their cravings for gambling is just outstanding. The fact that they operated within a secluded forest in order to evade authorities means that they are really deep into this kind of activity.

Not to discriminate or anything whatsoever, but I have noticed majority of these gamblers are the people who are staying in the below-average median household. I guess when people are struggling financially, they tend to resort to methods that are more risky but rewarding at the same time.
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 11, 2023, 03:36:14 PM
In my country there are no casinos operating because it is an illegal activity. However, many online gambling sites operate and have many users from our country. So, even though I often play on online gambling sites, I have absolutely no experience playing gambling in real casinos. I often watch YouTube about gambling in real casinos, especially about slot machines. I noticed that in real casinos, slot games do not have a buy free spins feature

Do you have experience playing at real casinos and online gambling sites? Is there a difference playing there? I want to know.

I mean, from the platform itself, online gambling can be played anywhere. It is designed for a remote gameplay where players can enjoy accessing gambling games at the convenience of their respective homes.

Physical casinos, on the other hand, requires your physical presence in the gambling establishment. The experience is entirely different as you get to feel and see the ambience of a casino. There are also complimentaries being offered if you have reached a milestone on their establishment, as well as drinks and food.

Physical casinos are designed for a person to stay at. The establishment offers several benefits and promos to a person in order for them to keep you staying at their premises. The more time you spend with them, the higher the chance that you will be somehow compelled to gamble.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 11, 2023, 02:24:57 PM
I want to ask those of you who have a hard addiction experience in gambling and then you can treat it yourself, and today still playing gambling but with the principle of good management and financial management in gambling.
I want to know how you break away from the addiction, you can mention the actions taken or what kind of steps? And how long do you need time to break away from the addiction that has been experienced?

I am not speaking of personal experience but I have witnessed someone making a big comeback from gambling addiction.

I remembered that my friend used to tell me stories about his relative that was suffering from drug and gambling addiction. It came to a point where that person sold the personal belongings of his mother just to satisfy the cravings of drug and gambling addiction. In fact, there were also times were this addict threatened his own life while he was so high with drugs. But after that experience, everything went uphill due to his urge to change his lifestyle.

My friend told me that the journey took roughly years for him to recover and be sober. Gladly enough, that relative is now 7 years sober and he is drug and gambling-free!

693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do we benefit in lies in forum on: September 10, 2023, 05:49:11 PM
Instead of formulating what is not real to write, it's better to make research of bitcoin and educate others through your research, some people make some posts without making it to be informative, some gives testimonies of their achievement with bitcoin without proven the evidence. I think we are to exchange of bitcoin knowledge and share experience's of bitcoins to each other not to give a fake information of what Bitcoin has done to you without evidence.

Well, this forum is considered as a haven for everyone who seeks to learn about all the information regarding cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, some abuse this freedom by providing fake stories/information who ultimately deceives everyone. From this point, it is now the responsibility of the person to at least understand and depict which stories to believe or not.

Personally, lots of users have been faking their claims in order to fish for "merit" for them to rank-up. I just hope that every person should be held accountable for all of their statements in order to prevent any form of abuse and deception as it goes contrary on why the forum was created in the first place.
694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for ways to improve my knowledge on cryptocurrency on: September 10, 2023, 05:04:17 PM
Hey guys am a newbie here, and I was ways to make or earn funds via online, and then an old friend told me about Bitcoin forum.

And I've also come to know that this forum can give me the best possible knowledge that I need about cryptocurrency, whilst learning about the different currencies in crypto I can as well earn from it.

What are possible ways to earn from the platform and whats involved  not forgetting how I can make progress in my journey in the crypto world .
 Help is needed

For starters, you can utilize the search bar function and look for any of the specific topics that you think may help you in understanding cryptocurrencies further. Also, the internet is your friend- almost everything is available if you just carefully search the topics on this forum or in Google.

Another thing, I do suggest that you watch TedTalk videos explaining the fundamentals/basics of cryptocurrencies. That at least will give you an idea on how the blockchain works and on how it can be implemented in practical ways.

Learn and act. Nothing is gained through an easy method. Everything involved needs hard work for you to reap the rewards in the future. I wish you good luck on your journey, OP!
695  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: September 10, 2023, 04:32:35 PM
BTC so been playing on stake for 3 years.
Last Sunday my balance went from 8 k to 10k I got phishing mail and I clicked thinking it was legit bonus as I was nearing level up.

I was phished and my funds were gambled on 3 bets.
I was surprised why hacker didn't cashout. May be 2FA.

But biggest surprise was phishing link received after certain amount reached. Could hacker potentially be scanning wallet and only trying to scam for bigger account?

I do think that when a hacker gets a hold of a certain fund, they will definitely waste NO time in transferring and getting your funds from your wallet. Just to be safe, make sure to transfer your funds into a new account/wallet and report this issue as soon as possible for Stake to take cognizance of your case.

Quote
After loosing funds I was so angry and try every avenue to acknowledge Eddie and their tech support but I havent even gotten 1 reply from them yet.

Still, try reaching out to their customer support service but I doubt that your funds or whatever amount is stolen would be recovered. As such, may this be a learning lesson on your end to NEVER click any random e-mails or links coming from unknown sources. While this experience may be unfortunate, may this teach you on how to be more careful next time.
696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: September 10, 2023, 03:18:42 PM
People like those (me) who don't gamble for fun have this question to answer: how will you feel when you don't have money to stake a game that you predicted and better winning games you predicted played the way you predicted it and when you checked the winning was something that could have changed your life for ever if you didn't gambled again after such winning?

If I were in this position, then this will probably hunt me for the rest of my life.

Like the example that you provided, this is basically the dream of every gambler who focuses on profits. That one (1) opportunity where you bet a single game and the winnings could probably and most likely change the way we live our lives. In addition, as someone who lives in a third-world country, gambling is what makes the possible of one dreaming in living the life of a rich person.

Though this may be the case, the chances of this opportunity happening is truly low- similarly to lottery winners.
697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Features on any Banking or Financial apps should be Removed on: September 10, 2023, 12:42:36 PM
I noticed something lately. Although it has been there for a long while but the time I have spent on this board is making me see things. I do not know if this is how it is in other parts of the world but I noticed that in my banking app, there a betting feature where the user can place a bet on any match directly from the app.

My submission is that betting features on any banking or financial apps should be removed to discourage compulsive gambling and irresponsible gambling. Do you agree with this perspective?

I actually agree with your statement.

In the Philippines, we have a money application where our local currency is used as a digital currency in an online platform where you can pay various things online (e.g. bills, bank transfers, etc.). Lately, the mobile application included an in-app function of gambling on various game. I tried it and lost $2 in the process. Sure, I lost a small amount of money but the danger it brings to everyone that gambling can be accessible in money applications is just dangerous.

If they aim for convenience, then they could have made a new platform instead of integrating it within their banking application.
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 09, 2023, 06:08:58 PM
Privacy is important when it comes to Cryptocurrency, so why do exchanges like Bitget require KYC (Know Your Customer) for all users, even those who only want to get airdrops? I thought KYC should be for those transacting many Bitcoins, Is it really necessary for everyone?

I do think that there are CEX that do not require any KYC but be wary of these exchanges as you should not keep your BTCs longer on them.

Most of the exchanges have KYC in order for the platform to provide security for both of the parties. This guarantees the exchange that they have your personal information and no shenanigans can be executed. In effect, exchanges require KYC for both of your security.

While this may be the case, I do recommend that you register in an exchange that do require KYC.
699  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't look for investment, just hodle! on: September 09, 2023, 05:28:14 PM
Reason why many fail for scam is because they are looking for investment instead of just holding Bitcoin and wait for it value to appreciate organically

If someone can get introduced to bitcoin and already have an idea on trading, then it's nothing bad if he can quickly develop more skills in learning more about bitcoin and it trading, where the mistakes lies is in our people veting in what they have no idea about, definitely there will be lost of money, unavoidable mistakes and more errors.

I think most of the problem boils down on the mindset of the new investors when they are first introduced with cryptocurrencies. Sure, the mindset of "getting rich quickly" is not bad perse but rushing the process without fully understanding the fundamentals can be a double-edged sword on both parties.

That is why, before a person fully commits to investing in BTC, everyone should at least experience the traditional ways of maximizing the potential of its price. While people may explore trading, etc. HODLING will still be the most efficient way of earning BTCs.
700  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit - be aware, i was lucky on: September 09, 2023, 04:54:22 PM
Hi. My friend CHATGPT help me out:

I wanted to share my experience as a Rollbit user. It appears that Rollbit somehow acquired my information, possibly from my previous involvement with Stake. As a Diamond-level player on stake, Rollbit unexpectedly awarded me 6k for free. This made me quite profitable since I hadn't deposited any of my own funds, and I managed to cash out between 50-80k in the past year.

This is interesting- I guess gambling casinos have their own pool of data where they can observe and see users who create on their website. Since they have acquired your personal information and they even awarded you with a bonus, then I guess it is a win for you. Good thing you have withdrawn your funds before they have banned you from their website.

Quote
My intention in sharing this story is to caution all of you to approach Rollbit  with caution. It's essential to be aware of the risks, especially when they involve receiving unexpected bonuses or promotions from them.  I hope none of you have to endure the disappointment of having your funds confiscated. Stay safe Smiley

Have you tried reaching out with their customer support service? With Rollbit being one of the popular gambling websites, they can provide you with an explanation with their CS on this forum. Try reaching out so they can clearly explain on why they banned you for "abuse."
