1681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Awareness of scam on social media will help reduce scam on: September 02, 2022, 06:10:10 PM
As someone who has some experience reporting scams in the forum, one thing that I noticed is that there are tons of scam websites and promotions that can be easily avoided. Again, this all boils down to the giveaways and promotions being advertised to random people on the internet.

Everyone, please remember that there is absolutely nothing free in this world. Even if some random guy messages you on Telegram asking you to be part of their team; or that they must exchange their money for cryptocurrencies, etc. remember that prevention is always better than cure. Avoid putting yourself in a situation that would most likely get you to scam.

If someone offers free giveaways if you participate or if someone randomly messages you telling that they have some free cryptocurrencies, always be doubtful against them.
1682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 02, 2022, 05:47:50 PM
$400 million in punitive damage? That's insane! I believe it's a good time to withdraw your funds from Stake asap because you never know the outcome of the lawsuit. This is not the first time we have seen such ownership dispute in crypto world but the amount this time is insane. So just to make your funds safe, move to a different casino for the time being.

This kind of issue is what makes or breaks a respectable gambling website. Like what I previously mentioned, owning a gambling casino revolves around building a brand and a collective ecosystem where people would want to continue gambling in to your website. Anything that includes lawsuits, conflicts, or even customer service feedback can heavily impact the popularity of a gambling website.

Since a lawsuit has been filed in Stake, expect that there would be people withdrawing their funds in order to protect and secure their money. Even if the lawsuit fails, this still creates some sort of damage on Stake's popularity and image as a whole.
1683  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Meron bang local owned crypto casino? on: September 02, 2022, 05:31:26 PM

Kung meron man, baka under the table ito to the point na baka hindi pa sumusunod sa regulations and license requirements.

You have to earn the trust of these people para mas opt nilang mag gamble sa iyong casino.
1684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should be pushed as a dominant global digital currency on: September 02, 2022, 05:17:00 PM
We love to see Bitcoin adaption definitely. But tell me why the centralized government will accept Bitcoin as a global currency where they can create a centralized cryptocurrency as a global financial system? The government doesn't like to allow another currency that is decentralized that they can't control. Bitcoin moves just with community powers and that's why a few countries and institual investors adopt Bitcoin.

I really doubt that we would see BTC becoming a dominant global digital currency that will replace the traditional fiat.

While there may be services/product that can be purchased using BTC, pushing it as a global currency is a bit of a stretch. With adaptation comes regulation especially on the hands of the government. With this in mind, this would also somehow defeat the purpose on why BTC was created in the first place- which is to gain and experience financial freedom.

By becoming a global digital currency, it will most likely be subject to stringent rules and regulations that can potentially destroy its very existence and purpose in the long run.
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 02, 2022, 05:06:23 PM

Now, this would be something of a thread where users can give tips as to how we play online/offline without our family knowing it. Curious how you do it.

My wife suspected me for almost a year already when I was watching a UFC channel on youtube where they suggest who to bet. Of course, I said No when she asked if I was betting. From then on I just hold my phone whenever she is not around. It's a long argument when your wife suggests buying this or that on amazon yet you gambling your funds. lol

Well for starters, you just do not tell them that you engage in gambling in the first place.

I remember my brother used to gamble whenever he needed cash for his education and materials. He never uttered a single word to anyone (except me) and whenever he wins, he would just flat out invite his friends for some beer and drinks. My brother believes in the mentality that he should spend his winnings as soon as possible as the money he won from gambling should be spent immediately.

He did this for 3 years until he told this to my father. Though my father was also an avid gambler (cockfighting), we all just accepted it and moved on.
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "The Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines" Is this a joke? on: September 02, 2022, 12:27:56 PM
if you earn 6 figures a month, you may really spend huge for anything you enjoy doing. so the guideline will make you think of following it once you see yourself losing half of the 6 figures. it sounds like a joke but i guess this will serve as a reminder moderately gamble the money out from your wallet. its probably just for people to minimize the habit.

I think the table that was posted is merely a guideline that is considered as the general rule whenever a person gambles. Of course, like you mentioned, this will drastically differ especially if a person earns a significant amount of income.

In terms of the the times a person gambles, I think it wholly depends on his lifestyle if he can afford it. While the guidelines provide a 1% amount of betting based on your total income, it is not necessary that you have to follow such. Again, it all boils down to the preference of the gambler as a whole.
1687  Economy / Gambling / Re: I need advice from experienced users of this forum on: September 01, 2022, 04:16:09 PM
That's strange, shouldn't the standard verification be via documents submission through the platform instead of Skype?
This is normal situation to prove that you is a real man, when the casino has some doubts that you is a real man.

The OP: Did you KYC before Skype verification? What documents you was asked? May be you have different real name and Skype account name?
Probably, you made a mistake, when KYC, but i don`t think so.

Based from the foregoing comments on this thread, one thing is certain- the KYC documents that were submitted did not match the identity of the person playing on the gambling website. Since the casino also mentioned that they have strong proof and evidence against it, then you are bound by such decision which, unfortunately, locks your account.

You should have dealt and understood this when you broke their TOS. When you gamble and try to circumvent what is stated, then you bear all the consequences of your actions, OP.

1692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you exchange Fiat for Crypto or Vice Versa? on: August 29, 2022, 07:44:32 PM
Whether you work for Fiat or Crypto, most people have to exchange in order to pay bills or survive.

What's your Fiat/Crypto situation?

As someone who lives in a third-world country, having the access to basic commodities is expensive. Job opportunities are not "opportunities" per se as it is more of like a competition where people would be willing to be underemployed just to meet their monthy/daily obligations.

The convenience of working online via participation from campaign signatures has opened doors for me. Given that our local exchange offers services where you can easily convert your cryptocurrencies/BTCs to fiat is huge. This local exchange also has the feature of paying your monthly bills and utilities as these are all available.

While some might argue that converting BTCs to fiat is a waste due to the potential of the former to skyrocket in its price in the future, I'd argue that the purpose of BTC is relative- as long as it helps and supports me financially, I would do it in heartbeat.
1693  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph suspended my account without valid reason on: August 29, 2022, 06:48:08 PM
@Jemzx00, just to give you an update, a few days ago nag message si coins.ph sa akin and fortunately, they restored my account back to its original verification level.

So, they messaged me last July 18, 2022 limiting my transaction limits and they did another "periodic" checkup last August 24, 2022 to which it restored my verification level back. So siguro makikita natin dito na yung sinasabi nilang "periodic" checkup ay siguro every month. Pero siguro better talaga na if you move your BTCs to a different wallet tapos benta mo na lang ng p2p para talaga maiwasan yung ganitong problema.

If you have any questions sa situation ko, feel free to message me anytime!
1694  Economy / Gambling / Re: Comparison between bitsler and stake on: August 29, 2022, 06:29:09 PM
I can not compare Bitsler and Stake because both casinos have advantages and disadvantages so it is hard to say that Bitsler is better than Stake or vice versa. It depends on how a gambler feels playing on each casino and I think some gamblers like playing many games on both Bitsler and Stake. A gambler will have their own choice and even if you say that one casino is better than another, that does not mean other gamblers will feel the same as you.

I agree with your statement.

Every gambling website has their respective bonuses and rewards that they give to their customers. While you may compare their bonuses with one another, there will always be one aspect that the other gambling website is better than the other. No matter how you compare, it also boils down to the preference of the person on which he/she wants to gambles.

A customer who has been betting for years in Stake might choose this gambling platform even if Bitsler may have better rewards due to personal preference and attachment. Even if you try to compare their rewards, everything revolves around the choice of a person on where he/she wants to gamble.
1695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be Cautious and take Caution. on: August 29, 2022, 06:08:27 PM
With the recent Russia/Ukraine invasion, the Ukrainians asked for help accepting bitcoin and other form of donations.
Having know, Scammers are taking chance of this moment to invade as well, it's best someone we all be guided and not fall as victims to this.
Five minutes of your time can lead to an hour, please be guided in this times.
You could share to your pals, I felt I should share this. People are lossing funds!! I'm no expert at privacy of coins buh take caution and be Cautious.
Thanks X

I just do not understand some people- war is happening and they try to take advantage of this destructive and unfortunate scenario purely for their personal gain? It really sucks to see that people are willing to sacrifice their morals over their greediness and personal gain.

Thank you for this warning, OP. Lots of willing and generous individuals want to contribute to at least lessen the burden of Ukrainians due to the effects of war. But with their generosity must come with caution as lots of fake wallets, addresses, and malware from links can be clearly seen circulating on the web.
1696  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is going to a the bitcoin conference worth it? on: August 29, 2022, 05:56:44 PM
Hey so im still fairly new to the space, ive been investing for about 7 month now and thought about going to a conference. im not to social of a person but i feel like it would be a good opportunity to just be around the environment. Has anyone been to one? and do you think its a valuable experience?

Attending any conference that talks about BTC/cryptocurrency is definitely worth it. Not only do you learn firsthand the fundamentals of BTC but you also have the opportunity to ask questions to all the people that attended. This kind of interactive experience makes these types of conference very essential and helpful especially if you are new to the cryptocurrency space.

Back in 2017, I also attended this conference (unfortunately, it was a ponzi conference USI-TECH) in our country. I was able to talk to various people who invested in this scheme and they provided and taught me the basics of cryptocurrencies. Though I highly advise that you prevent investing in ponzi-schemes. But my point here is that, conferences discussing a certain topic will always be worth it!
1697  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid loan apps, a word of advice. on: August 29, 2022, 05:27:13 PM
Loan apps really gives you a headache because of very high interest for just a short period of time. It can't help in times of need instead it will bring you to more debt. This loan apps are illegal  and if you can't pay your loan in the due date they will never stop calling you and even threaten you. So, OP is rigjt, better to avoid such loan apps .

Personally, loan applications are tolerable as long as you are able to pay the stipulated amount within the timeframe you provided.

As a general rule, only take loan applications if you have the necessary funds to pay them on the given timeframe. If not, avoid it at all costs due to the high interest rates and returns that they offer. The purpose of these loan applications is that they offer you some loan with minor requirements (as compared to banks) but they charge you with absurdly high interest rates. Not to mention, you are also bound to put names of people who must guarantee the loan in case you default.

From my experience, these loan apps will non-stop call you on your cellphone number demanding and asking for the loan payment. Again, there is no problem with loan applications for as long as you pay them on the agreed date.
1698  Economy / Gambling / Re: Some Crazy Fun Facts About Casinos And Gambling You Might Not Know. on: August 29, 2022, 04:56:21 PM
These are all amazing facts! Given that gambling has that reputation of potentially ruining/destroying someone's life, these facts that you provided show the other side- which is if the person gambling benefitted and won the odds that are almost against them.

Be warned, however, that people should not take inspiration with these examples. Given that millions of people around the globe gamble their resources, only a handful of facts/winnings can be shared. This implies that gambling is indeed, risky and if you are willing to fight the odds (which is always against you), then you reap the rewards tenfold.
1699  Economy / Services / Re: Poker Courses For Sale on: August 29, 2022, 03:32:03 PM
You registered on this forum in less than 2 hours ago and your brought up poker courses, is that not funny and look more like scam attempt? I hope no one will listen to you because anyone can easily send you money and you can scam the person. If you scam the person, you have nothing to lose. But I am surprised because this is the first time I heard of poker courses when it can be learned freely. Also if someone do not know how to play poker, there are other gambling types that can be gone for like roulette, dice, sport, dog racing, hourse racing and many others.

I would not call this as an attempt to scam someone. Remember, this forum attracts lots of non-users due to the incoming traffic that such users visit daily. Let us give OP the benefit of the doubt, may be he is indeed someone that is adept and veteran in terms of playing poker. Again, this forum can provide any types of service for as long as people need the demand of it!

As we all know, most newbies have been stigmatized with their reputation as lots of them had been banned due to lots of scam attempts. But this does not entirely mean that all newbies are scammers- give the guy a chance maybe he has really something to offer!

OP, it would be better if you create some sort of brochure or infographics to provide easy access and information to users.
1700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My feelings after 11 years with crypto. on: August 28, 2022, 07:06:05 PM
Hello everyone, today i want to tell you about my crypto-depression.
So in 2010 i was working in IT company and my friend from work told me about bitcoin mining.
Next day after this information i register on this forum and start mining coins, everything going perfect but bitcoin price was really low and unstable.
I was investing everything in gpu. Couple times i lost my fund's on scam-exchange but i still had a lot of "mining power".
In 2015 i quited my job and invest my whole savings in bitcoin, in that time i had more than 15 bitcoin's and gpu worth 20k$.
And after 2 or 3 week's everything fucked up, in same time i lost my job and my wife get sicked.
In Nov 2015 i selled everything but still i had -$$$$ to pay, so you probably asking why i made this post?

Now after 6 years i have biggest depression ever, if i only burrow money from somewhere 5 years ago and didnt sell my miners...

I have feelings that i lost my biggest life chance to get really rich and i just want to forget about crypto and work in normal work but it is impossible.
It's hurt much more if you can see that your old crypto-friend's get cars and houses from crypto profit, i wonder if someone have some feeling's as me.

Unfortunately, your story is not unique OP but I do share my sympathy with you.

There people who also lost countless of opportunities due to the volatility and unpredictability of the price of BTC in the market. There are even HODLers who also missed the opportunity of selling their BTCs at a rate favorable to them. Lastly, majority of us who started late in BTC also missed the chance of purchasing some BTCs while its price is relatively low on the market.

While I do sympathize with you OP, you should always keep your head high and focus on the next opportunity. The fact that you still know that BTCs exists creates this opportunity for you to recover and regain momentum.
