921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: September 23, 2023, 02:08:01 PM
...
For this fight, I read some social media post about the fame coach Roach saying that he favors Charlo here and he will be the first one to knockout Canelo. With all respect to Roach though, we all know what he had done to Manny and other boxers, but not sure what so special that he see on Charlo to say that. Maybe he thought that Canelo is declining, but I doubt that he can simply be knockout at 168 lbs.

I also saw it on Facebook but I haven't read nor heard his full explanation on why he thought Charlo would win over Canelo at 168. But maybe it is really about the thought that Canelo is already declining. I also heard rumors that Canelo's lifestyle has changed a lot lately and his work ethic is no longer the same.

But still, it is really hard to see Charlo win by knockout. Maybe a decision is possible but I cannot imagine Canelo getting knocked out. Bivol at 175 pummeled Canelo but there was not even a single knockdown so I highly doubt a 154 guy moving up 2 divisions and is also not a known knockout artist will score a knockout win.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 23, 2023, 01:26:42 PM

But it could be that Phoenix is looking for something that values more. I just checked Ayton's contract and he is paid an average of around $33 million. Jusuf Nurkic has lower but nearly the same output as Ayton and is only paid an average of around $16 million yearly.

So, if the trade were to happen, it should involve Nurkic and a bunch of players in exchange for Ayton, right? Well, that seems fair, but personally, I'm more concerned about Nurkic's health as he seems to be injury-prone already compared to Ayton. Also, I've seen him in the playoffs, like when the Blazers were playing against the Nuggets, and it's evident that he couldn't effectively stop Jokic. So, in terms of defense and maturity in the game, I would lean towards Ayton. But I understand that teams involved in a possible trade look at how valuable the players they acquire will be, and they wouldn't agree to it if they didn't see benefits. At this moment, I would say it's a crucial decision.

It could be the scenario. Overall if I were the Phoenix Suns' management I also want to stick with Ayton. The guy has been with them since day 1 and is mostly familiar with their plays and chemistry already. If they are planning to trade Ayton then they better make it private as much as possible. Ayton may felt unwanted soon if the rumors were true that he's been in the trading block for years already.

But what I know is Portland's priority right now is to get an excellent deal for Damian Lillard. I have begun to wonder if Ayton is enough for Lillard. Phoenix though has Beal already and it might be difficult to put Booker at SF.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 23, 2023, 01:01:15 PM
Of course, he had been heard and known already, he is even in the pound for pound list. But US fans wanted to see the Japanese monster and really be the name from Asia. Just like Manny Pacquiao is, even after he retires, he has been given so much respect by the boxing community in the US and whenever he goes to watch live fights, everyone is very happy to see the living legend and even his former nemesis are there for Manny.

Definitely, that's what Inoue's team should do if they want to gain recognition worldwide. Inoue has the same skills as Manny Pacquiao, and perhaps even better, but he isn't as much of a risk-taker as Manny, who would fight anyone, even when some people didn't think he could beat them. I mean, he kept proving the experts wrong every time he move up in weight and stepped into the ring. That's because he still had the speed and power, and, mind you, he wasn't a boxer afraid of losing; all he wanted was to entertain the fans, as they deserved.

I believe both Naoya Inoue and Manny Pacquiao are both risk-takers. But both have their own different ways of risking their careers. Opportunity costs a lot in this sport since fighters have limited years in their prime.

Pacman (retired):
- Was only 19 years old when he won his first world title.
- The only 8-division champion in the history of the sport.
- The only 5-division lineal champion in the history of the sport.

The cost of Pacman's constant moving up in weight:
- Zero undisputed
- He never really became a unified champion. He only fought another belt holder twice in his long career and failed to win both

Monster (active):
- 20 years old when he won his first world title.
- He only had 5 wins when he fought for his first world title.
- After only 7 wins he moved up in weight for his second-division world title fight. This might be the fastest in the history of the sport.
- 1 time undisputed champion
- 4 division world champion
- 2 division lineal champion
- 2 division unified champion

The cost of Inoue spending 4 years of his prime to unify the belts at 118 might have put his limits as to how many divisions he could take in his remaining years.

I don't know why you made a poll OP. But welcome to Bitcointallk!

So you are mostly interested in earning from bitcoin investment. At this moment, I doubt buying bitcoin and holding it for a few years can change your life financially unless you have a big capital but it might also mean you already have the money and a 400% growth isn't life-changing anymore.

Bitcoin is a decentralized online currency and it is necessary since we have full control of it without the government and banks interventions. But we can still live without bitcoin of course. But as humans, we are about innovations for the betterment and bitcoin is one of them.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 23, 2023, 11:39:42 AM
There are some countries that banned gambling. Yet most rich and well-developed countries in the world allowed gambling. The most livable countries in the world also allowed gambling.

Gambling should not affect relationships because what's the big deal when we're just having fun within our limits? Unless someone is paranoid or it has something to do with beliefs. What affects relationships are addictions. Addiction is a disorder so everything that is too much is a disorder and is not healthy not just within ourselves but also in our relationships. Addiction to the internet, liquor, food, computer and mobile games, sports, sex, attention, gambling, and many more. But isn't it obvious that addiction affects relationships?
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 22, 2023, 03:03:21 PM
So maybe we might be talking at how Inoue will win and what round will it end for Tapales.

If Inoue wins, I'm guessing that this won't go past 6 rounds. Tapales is an aggressive fighter, although he has mastered the counter-punching style, he really likes to engage with his opponents. So, it should be an interesting fight to watch, but I'm afraid Tapales won't be able to time his attacks well against the speed and quickness of Inoue.

The only reason Stephen Fulton and Paul Butler lasted in the later rounds before getting KO'd is that they didn't engage in a toe-to-toe battle against Inoue. So, if Tapales were to go toe-to-toe, this fight could end early. However, there's still a chance that an upset could happen because Tapales has KO power. But as the majority believes, Inoue is still likely to dominate. Tapales should master Inoue's style to determine how to counter it, because if not, he will just be fighting to survive, no different from other boxers.

The good thing about Marlon Tapales is he is also an experienced fighter and is somewhat smart with an underrated power in both hands. He is now a 2 division world champion so his confidence is also high. In his last fight, Tapales brought something new to his style that made former unified champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev have difficulty in their fight.

So Tapales might surprise us again. I want to see Tapales being the aggressor in this fight. Make himself that hunter instead of being like Butler and Fulton who were hunted by Inoue. Careful aggression and try to lure Naoya Inoue into a brawl. I doubt Inoue will engage, he is too smart so he will be forced to backpedal so he can utilize his speed which is his best asset.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 22, 2023, 02:35:08 PM
Phoenix news is reporting that the Dallas Mavericks made a trade offer to the Phoenix Suns for DeAndre Ayton but it apparently was a very bad offer so they declined. I’m actually glad they did and hope they hold onto him. I think Ayton was a big part of their run for the Finals and with a new coach I’m expecting him to have a big year.
And I don't know who Dallas Mavericks offer though, I mean they already lost some of their good players when they acquire Kyrie, so I doubt that they still have some to offer in the trade.

Good that Ayton remain with the team, I think what he needs is motivation and not criticism as what his former coach do to him. And with a solid line up already, I don't think that the Suns needs to messed up everything as they need Ayton, just like when they had a good run in the finals years ago against the Bucks.

Deandre Ayton has been in trade rumors for the past years and it surprised me since he's playing well in Phoenix. But there are critics that he should be producing more as a top 1 pick and dominate the game. Maybe his potential as a player is limited. But he is still young and can be developed.

But it could be that Phoenix is looking for something that values more. I just checked Ayton's contract and he is paid an average of around $33 million. Jusuf Nurkic has lower but nearly the same output as Ayton and is only paid an average of around $16 million yearly.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 22, 2023, 01:55:50 PM
Still months before the fight though, although there are odds already, but I still wanted to see the crypto betting sites that we are more familiar with. And perhaps just a ML will be suffice for us. Although there could be lots of betting options for those who wanted to risk more to win big. But if the odds are like 1.8x, good enough for a ML bet, in my opinion.

The odds we are seeing are just predicted odds; they do not exist yet in the sportsbook. So, we can only verify if that is true once the odds are released. Yes, it's quite early, but some popular matches have early odds, while this one doesn't. So, it's safe to say it's not a popular fight despite being a championship fight.

Indeed, I can see a lot of unknown names on some betting sites but this one is not also there. Maybe there are odds already available on local Japanese betting sites and casinos.

The odds of this fight will be close so it will be attractive to bet ML. Even though Takuma Inoue is not that experienced compared to Jerwin Ancajas in terms of world-class fights, I believe he will be a slight favorite since he is fighting in front of his home crowd and he is hungry to prove that he is also a force to be reckoned with like his popular brother Naoya. Ancajas also came from back-to-back losses before having a tune-up in this division.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 21, 2023, 02:07:29 PM
I haven't done this for a while already. And I am glad that I can control my betting spree, especially during these hard times. Or it could be that I am just currently more occupied with other stuff that I only gamble less.

I think my biggest bet before was around $2k in our local currency which is pretty significant to me right now. I felt excited and thrilled but I was not nervous or something. I had more memories with little bets where I was sweating and got nervous about the results. Cheesy But for me, I don't really like that feeling. I felt like I bet more than I could afford to lose if I got nervous about my bets.
931  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: September 21, 2023, 01:45:23 PM
Retiring early has been my goal since then. I just don't think my profession is in line with my natural skills and interests. I hate waking up early because I have insomnia. So my goal was to retire early from the usual 8 AM to 5 PM job.

And I actually did it a few years ago. I know the pros and cons but it's actually cool when you decide your own time. Although some of my business ventures already failed I am once again planning to set up another one. There's still a lot of sacrifices involved but I have no regrets.
932  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 21, 2023, 01:25:54 PM
You're talking about a $50 investment and you're talking about real estate? As crazy as it sounds, no investment will generate much profit with $50 of capital. You need more money, I think if you don't have money to invest, it's better to focus on increasing your monthly income, if you have enough money left for living needs, then think about investing.
It is important to search a lot of information before investing which you need to understand and keep in mind were invest what you can afford to lose. I agree with you that it's better to focus on increasing first your monthly income aside from that is you have to divide your earnings which is you need to separate first your base or your savings, and it's up to you if you will re-invest half of your money, but you have to consider the risk that it may not all be a good outcome for you.

Another strategy is that they take out a loan and pay it on an installment basis because no matter what they do it will cost them time if they find a second job meaning if you plan to invest you have less time for your investment so others take the risk of having a loan but it is not recommended because we know that if ever it is not a success you are still paying that loan but at least you have tried and are still able to pay the loan.

It is better to save first and accumulate capital no matter how big or small your income is because that is where your capital starts and you won't be taking out a loan. But always keep in mind that you should always risk what you can afford to lose stay out of your comfort zone and always learn about your investments.

Taking a loan to buy real estate probably works on a long-term basis because they're expensive and their value is constantly increasing although slowly. However, taking a loan in order to invest in a very volatile asset like crypto will be too risky. I actually thought about it in the last few months but my calculations aren't showing something positive.

The best way is really to save first and accumulate capital. Looking for another source of income can make it faster. And the fastest way to grow money is to start a business. Whether big or small, starting a business of our own expertise has huge potential. The profit can then be used to invest in risky or slow-moving but more secure assets.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 21, 2023, 12:50:31 PM
But there's also the chance that Casimero will right away become mandatory for the WBO or he will fight for an eliminator against #4 or anyone that is available.

The above scenario will most likely to happen if he comes back to MP Promotions because rumors had it that Manny or Sean Gibbons have sent notice to Quadro Alas if he is interested in being back in their wings as they will accept him back with open arms hehe. Sean Gibbons has so many connections with those sanctioning bodies especially the WBO so this may be the short for an Inoue fight that we have been longing for.
I'm not really sure what you meant, why is going back to MP suddenly WBO will give him the chance to become the mandatory? I don't think that Sean has so much influence though, we really even don't know how he become Manny's manager, he wasn't even by his side when Manny was in his prime?

Anyhow, I think if ever he will be given the chance by the WBO, it's because he is the former champion at 118 lbs. So we all know that some governing bodies prioritized their champions when moving up.

I also heard this but there are conditions asked before Johnreil Casimero gets admitted again. I forgot the exact demands but I remember that Casimero needs to make a public apology to Sean Gibbons, etc., and fire his brother Jayson Casimero as his coach. Manny Pacquiao should fire Gibbons and his gang out of MP IMO. Grin

I do not know if Casimero responded to this or if he already threw the offer into the trash can where it should belong. Casimero already mentioned before how important Jayson is to him, especially during fights. And Casimero is already WBO #3 by only fighting mediocre opponents twice so he is doing good without MP.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 21, 2023, 12:09:49 PM
I also believe that next year is the deciding year if Johnreil Casimero can really take on Naoya Inoue. This year it is most likely that Inoue will have his chance to unify his belts with another unified champion Marlon Tapales. But we haven't got the final deal yet on Inoue-Tapales. There's also the chance that both fighters will ask for a rematch clause but maybe it is not needed as long as they are getting paid well.

From what I know, these are the situations of the 4 sanctioning bodies:
WBA- Former champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev needs to fight for an eliminator. Former champion Tomoki Kameda refused the mandatory so there will be a delay on the WBA mandatory which gives Inoue/Tapales a window of a voluntary defense which could be Casimero.
WBC- Former champion Luis Nery already won an eliminator earlier but it was not stated as final so it is likely that there will also be a final eliminator which also means another window of opportunity for Inoue/Tapales to make a voluntary defense.
IBF- Sam Goodman already won an eliminator so the IBF can call Inoue/Tapales for a mandatory anytime. This is the biggest obstacle of Casimero because if Goodman gets the winner of Inoue/Tapales then it is also likely that the WBA and WBC mandatories will follow next.
WBO- No mandatory and eliminator yet. #1 Goodman, #2 Nery and #3 Casimero. Goodman is already an IBF mandatory. Maybe Nery and Casimero can fight for the WBC (final) and WBO eliminator early next year if both can't get Inoue/Tapales. But there's also the chance that Casimero will right away become mandatory for the WBO or he will fight for an eliminator against #4 or anyone that is available.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 21, 2023, 11:27:25 AM
Draymond Green had this to say on Twitter (x) about a report that Dwight Howard has been given the all clear to join the Warriors by the vets and will be working out with Dray and CP3 tomorrow.

https://x.com/money23green/status/1704666006696960078

That sure does make it seem like Dwight Howard is going to get another shot in the NBA with the Warriors. That could cause problems for the rest of the league.

This is the best comeback ever because we know that Dwight really was something when he played in Taiwan and is still one of the best centers in the NBA despite the injuries. they taking it seriously to make it hard for Jokic because they cannot afford to lose in the playoffs this time and one of the ways to increase their chance to stop Jokic is to get Dwight while he is still balling and capable of that work. Now the West is in trouble, I wonder how will the other teams react to this because it's a good move for the GSW.

It's good news that Dwight Howard is back in the NBA since he is still interested in playing. But I don't see him as one of the best centers anymore in the current NBA situation. He will probably sit most of the time and will be utilized only as a last resort. But with his deep experience, GSW can use him, especially during the playoffs but still with limited minutes. if the whole roster of Denver is complete then Nikola Jokic will have an easy time against him.

I only saw some short clips of his games in Taiwan. I heard his stats were good but is it also true that his team lost more games than winning?
936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really risky as they say? on: September 19, 2023, 12:16:53 PM
If someone wants to invest and hold bitcoin for only a short-term period then it is indeed very risky. The price history of bitcoin in the previous years speaks for it. Financial analysts call bitcoin risky for some reason. We need to invest with long-term goals and be able to hold in spite of small ups and downs if we want to earn big profits. That is why it is very important to invest using only a part of our extra savings otherwise we could be forced to sell at a low price when an unexpected financial downturn happens.
937  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 19, 2023, 11:37:30 AM
When I say educated people will take advantage it is those same people you think that knows so much about the field that will easily capitalize on your illiteracy to take advantage of the situation to double their profits from you.
People who are educated and smart enough will always know how to take advantage of conditions to gain an advantage over some people who have no knowledge of something, but I don't want to call them illiterate people because that's too extreme. This is why those who do not have more knowledge must be willing to accept advice from people who have no interest in seeking profits in every situation so that they will not forever be taken advantage of by people who are smarter than them.

Which is why education is still very important. Maybe at least experience college level if in case someone can't finish a degree. Nonetheless, there are still people who are able to become successful in their businesses even without a degree. Maybe it's the experience over the years that made them very good in a specific field although they are very limited when it comes to the things that are outside their sphere of experience.

Anyways, the question of either having an education or getting a property falls to the parents to choose. Otherwise, the kids that are about to enter college or not are still very young and immature to decide on things like this.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 19, 2023, 11:17:31 AM

I agree if they are destined to fight, then they will have their chance to face each other.  It is that Casimero's action is too obvious that he is frustrated to fight Inoue as soon as possible, or it is just some gimmick so that he can gain some attention since Inoue is one of the hottest boxer today.

Both avenues can lead to a faster Casimero vs. Inoue fight. If fans continue to call for the fight as Casimero taunts Inoue, they may play a significant role in pushing for this matchup. Additionally, Casimero is taking the right approach by continuing to fight and improve his ranking. Perhaps Inoue will consider facing Casimero once he becomes the undisputed champion in the super bantamweight division.
Casimero has been consistent in taunting Inoue, but the fight has yet to materialize. Inoue recognizes that the matchup is considered a significant one, even though Casimero is not currently a champion. The hype generated by Casimero has reached a large number of fans, and interestingly, there are even Filipinos who don't believe Casimero would win due to his attitude. So, his strategy to gain attention has proven to be very effective.

But imagine if Johnreil Casimero gets knocked out hard by Naoya Inoue in their fight? Casimero's taunting or even his lifestyle created a lot of haters even to his own countrymen so he will most likely get bashed a lot if he loses badly. But hopefully, Casimero is well-composed if the worst-case scenario happens. Because I am really expecting their fight to happen next year unless Tapales scores an upset this December. Inoue's handlers already said that they would stay in the division if ever he becomes undisputed and named Casimero and Luis Nery as the targeted opponents. Hopefully, it will be Casimero in the US. Nery is banned in Japan so Casimero has the edge if Inoue wants to defend his undisputed belts in front of his countrymen.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 19, 2023, 10:54:30 AM
So there's still one month before the regular season starts. I'm itching already. Who's team do you think has the best advantage next season? I haven't seen the odds yet but I am expecting the Phoenix Suns and the defending champion Denver Nuggets to lead the bookies.

The most curious team I want to see is the Boston Celtics. How do you think they fare next season without Marcus Smart, Grant Williams, etc.? Added to their line-up is the injury-prone Krisptaps Porzingis but I am really hoping he stays healthy next season. After a disappointing last season, this is the time that they need to step up. I still like their lineup and they needed the trades for a change.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 19, 2023, 10:22:50 AM
Of course, there will be differences between playing in virtual and real life. The first of these will be a matter of pleasure. When you play virtually, you will only be faced with the algorithm. When you go to a casino in real life, you will be outside of a lot of people gambling there.I can say that experiencing this in real life is really a separate experience and pleasure.I wanted to go and try it once with my friends and I felt that the excitement there was completely different. In reality, after looking at exactly what everyone is doing first and how the games are spinning, there is a little bit of your desire to play, of course, you cannot prevent it.

It is every gambler's dream to at least experience playing in a land-based casino. It is really true that the vibes are different inside a casino rather than just playing online. But both are fun and entertaining. Some people feel pressured during their first time entering a casino but they should not. Some people even go to casinos with very little amount of money. They're just there to play their luck for a little time and then spend most of their stay watching other people play. Some casinos also offer unlimited free drinks so it's cool drinking tea or liquor or soda or juice while having fun watching people gamble big amounts of money.
