I just received an Avalon 3 290 module, along with a TP-link controller/interface from eHash.com yesterday. I hooked it up to my laptop with the Ethernet cable and was able to access and configure settings through the web interface. I changed the address to my network, moved it, and can still login and connect to it.
What I CAN'T do is talk to the miner, or get it to do anything. I'm using a Thermaltake TR2-600 w power supply.
I see 2 green LED's on the interface board, and the fan runs. That's all.
The CGMiner API log says firmware 20140423, CGMiner 2077365. Socket connection failed: Connection refused.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, if anything?

Please help. Thanks.

Im having the exact same issue
please help!
The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I bought a 200gh unit and after roughly 24 hours of mining I noticed the rig turned itself on and off, then the hash rate bounces from 84-96mh but never any higher.
Temperature reads below the parameters set by Vision Man. All settings are at what they recommend. I turned the unit off, let it sit for about an hour, turned it back on, and it still has the same issue.
I reset to defaults, got everything reconfigured in terms of Chip Frequency, Miner Count, etc. It still has the exact same issue!
The unit is hard wired with wireless disabled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for your time.

Miner Count: 16
Asic Count: 10
Frequency: 1300
Fan1: 2760
Fan2: 0
Fan3: 0
Temp1: -1
Temp2: 52
Temp3: -1
DH(%) 1.2526
NMW: 237
Firmware: 20131110
Controller: 2013110865

Hello,

I cant seem to get my avalon 3 with avalon 2 module working connected to a raspberry pi. I get this specific error

[Firmware Version] => 20140526
cgminer: 444d457
cgminer-openwrt-packages: b7b7afe
luci: b66161d
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

I read this was most likely a network configuration error. I checked all my settings and everything is fine. I ran the ping and as you can see the results are ok.

PING google.com (167.206.145.182): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 167.206.145.182: seq=0 ttl=59 time=12.840 ms
64 bytes from 167.206.145.182: seq=1 ttl=59 time=9.882 ms
64 bytes from 167.206.145.182: seq=2 ttl=59 time=9.847 ms
64 bytes from 167.206.145.182: seq=3 ttl=59 time=8.489 ms
64 bytes from 167.206.145.182: seq=4 ttl=59 time=8.332 ms

--- google.com ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 8.332/9.878/12.840 ms

I also factory reset the units a couple of times just to be sure, and to my surprise still the same error.

I also thought it might be a powersupply problem. I put 2 powersupplies from one of my antminer s2 setups, and still the same problem. I also bought a new psu. Still the same issue (Thinking it may a module powering issue), but fans are spinning and power leds are up.

The Avalon 3 to avalon 2 module is connected to a usb hub that has a seperate psu and is the sold on ehash. I also tried to connect it directly to the Raspberry pi.

Definitely need help on this one.

My Avalon3 is hashing away just fine. (needed to raise the voltage some to reduce the error rate to under .5%).
I compiled Cgminer from source with --enable-avalon2 flag.
Then added -S /dev/ttyUSB0 --avalon2-voltage 7250 --avalon2-freq 500 in addition to my normal configuration to the command line.

If you are feeling adventurous the avalon-usb branch of cgminer in BitSyncom's git has some nice updates.

ok, I have finally got my avalon3 single modules doing something... I have accessed r'pi using the authorised firmware, changed settings to DHCP (if you have trouble access this you might need to change the ip range on your router to 192.168.0.xxx log in change to DHCP then you can reset settings on router)..
Once the r'pi kicks in the Avalon3's noticably speed up but there does not seem to be any significant heat generated? (happy but confused)
in the summery all work is Discarded.
I am not seeing any active worker in the pool (mupool).
is there a tutorial/guide to what I am seeing in this OpenWrt Barrier Breaker control panel thang?
Thanks

Warning:  New guy!

I picked up a 200 GHs Avalon that was running fine.  I've been working with it fine for a few months and I finally decided to upgrade the firmware.  Used the openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory-20140201 firmware package.

Since then it has been a nightmare.  CGMiner no longer makes any connection to my pools.  when looking in the CGMiner logs I see the following:

[Firmware Version] => 20140201
cgminer: 698d677
cgminer-openwrt-packages: 7a823a7
luci: 4544a03
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

The CGMiner page looks like the image here http://ftp://ftp.storagecraft.com/ava200ghs.png

I've dug through a bunch of posts across many areas.  your help and suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks, I've applied that one with the same behavior, I Rolled back just in case it had compatibility concerns.  This just came from a few posts I was researching.

One person thought they fixed it due to a problem communicating over 123 but I believe I have that open.  And I didn't need that earlier if that was the case because it was working, I ran the firmware update and it stopped working.

Hello,

If you have avalon 2 chips on avalon 1 board use this firmware.

http://downloads.canaan-creative.com/software/avalon1/20140227/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

It solves problem with my machine, is buggy but it work. I have avalon 2 machine 200G. You can see on this link http://downloads.canaan-creative.com/# that avalon 2 on 200gh use this firmware.

I also try avalon 2 firmwares but no one working. Good luck Smiley

I notice that match_work 17-32 are all 0, and some of the match work 1-16 are also 0.  The screen shot shows a lot of HW errors.

When you mention "finally got it connected" I think perhaps the unit has never worked in your possession, so perhaps it was recently shipped.

The Avalons seemed to have a lot of reports of connections becoming loose during shipping.  You might open the case and reseat everything.

Also, since it is reporting HW failure, I would set the frequency to a low value.  I can't tell if this is an Avalon 1 or an Avalon 2.  The 282 MHz value is too high for an Avalon 1.

I try to be respectful and informed.
