Bitcoin is called cryptocurrency for a reason... it IS currency, digital or not. Just because people use misnomers like "miner" or "cyrptocurrency" it NOT means it work like a real miner or a real currency. BTC is not used by the primary or secondary economic sector of any country. BTC do not have intrinsic value and cannot exist outside the bounds of the Internet. The value of each BTC arise from the fact that people is transferring monetary value from one point to another. If BTC are not used to transfer fiat money from here to there, it will serve to NOTHING and thus it will have NO VALUE whatsoever. Now, this is completely different to say that a "miner" do not worth a dime. Care to explain what the value of a "miner" has anything to do with the fact that BTC is not a currency?
Please don't get offended... Discussion is all. I did mean BTC BTW I am not offended and you are entitled to disagree with my opinion. I am just surprised with the confusion that is going on about what exactly Bitcoin and BTC means for some people here. I never mentioned the "Value of a miner" and what you call fact, is actually an opinion. Other than value, there is only one difference between BTC, and any other Currency(or whatever you want to call it) It's not printed on a worthless scrap of paper for you to hand off to a merchant... That's the only difference I see, other than the non-banking & non centralized control, etc... benefits of btc... which is why global adaptation is going to sweep the masses imho

Made 25 Btc now with 2 Jupiters. Not even halfway there because 2 units came around 16th and 19th and one is still lost in transport. Great to know that some have already made back their money! Please keep it to yourself. Btw: Best Share 1,487,394,728 Found my first block today =)

You need a klaxon and rotating orange light every time you get a payout.
I really like that idea... admittedly.... Wonder if Cklovas could add a little Cha-Ching... cash register sound to cgminer when blocks are found.. or wizkid on eligius...

What could be better than getting up @ 3am to see how much you made during the night? I love this shizzle! Gox @ 227, XBT @ 212.... Just reached 50% return, day 19 But according to Croppo, they aren't worth a dime..... I better just give up then.... Hahahahahaha
Congrats Phoenix! I am at USD break even in one more day! I've made 32 BTC with my jup. One more month(ish) to break even in BTC terms using the exponential difficulty estimates I have been using. Edit - Looks like I am USD break even today based on coinbase price. chrono, when did you receive your miner? October 4th chrono, I suppose your miner minted @530-550 since the beginning right?

trying it also and the thing I notice is total lack of rejects initially, hashrate the same, and hardware error is lower so far, but too early to say for sure

Yes - Around 520 gh/s from the start. I got really lucky with a unit with around 4 bad cores.

0.98.1 any time now... hoping for another "1.21 GigaWatts..." as Doc Brown would say... I've had entirely too much coffee for it to be 430am...... oops...lol hey phoenix, it says that the 0.98.1 firmware will be used to address issues with die 0 issues - how do i know if i have that issue? if i dont have that issue then i shouldnt update to 0.98.1? reading some reports of the firmware beta users and some report improvements, although i dont know how to identify whether i need the update.

Can I hate you now? :p Don't hate, just envy that he is 50% towards ROI. I wish I can say the same thing I'm "getting there" got mine (sic) on the 16th Oct im about to hit the 27 btc mark with my jupiter, received the device oct 12. hm... i started with 6 jupiters also oct 12th, they have made 130 so far. but that is only 21.6 per machine. yours must be a class a ... sorry i forgot to factor in that i have a few avalon minis mining too, i cant figure out how to see what the jupiter mined alone since im all in the same account on btcguild.

It would appear Hashfast and Cointerra are delayed (no ship date for Hashfast batch #1) and no tapeout date for Cointerra. Good news for KnCminer customers...

I believe if you have top hashrate, your not affected, so dont need to update they are targeting the rash of die0 dead boards. seems if you have a dead die other than die0 you won't get much help from this. Once they figure out a solution, then may make it more customizable for everyone's unique problems can they allow different FW to run on each module?? some branching? even the dies on each module need different settings if they aren't a 'golden board'

You can create separate workers on the same account with BTC Guild or many of the big pools. Just click on Workers once you are logged in.
