0.0001 payment is not from Slush, you may check advertisement message in blockchain in this 0.0001 transaction. Someone decided to pay this to your address and nothing more.  Payment from Slush was as predicted.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Wow... 40PH/s!  I just checked out this pool for the first time in a long time (by long time - my last share ever submitted to Slush was 1 year, 8 months ago)... it's certainly changed look and feel.  Somebody's been busy Smiley.

Exactly, but unfortunately pool luck still not so good for quite a long time. And this loss will be never fully covered later because of huge difficulty raise each time nowdays.

Another issue  is poolhoppers in each long round, now they for approx +2-3 PH/s which gone immediately after block found.  2/40 = -5% for long(unlucky) rounds so average -2.5% for all profit.

Huge?  LOL... I guess you don't remember 2014 too well Smiley.  10% was considered a reprieve.

On January 2, 2014 the network difficulty was 1,418,481,395.  By the end of the year (on 12/30) it was 40,640,955,016.  There were 29 difficulty adjustments that year, of which 19 were over 10%.

What are talking about?  I do not care of overall diff raise, it is absolutely clear and inevitably.
But about bad luck will be never covered with such raise now +10% per 2 weeks.  It is 90% for last months here.

What's past is past.  What matters is whether or not pool performance will continue to be poor. If you believe the recent performance reflects bad luck then the best bet may be to stay.  If you think some other reason accounted for the poor performance then it may be a better bet to move elsewhere.  Moving to another pool without a good reason may prove, with the benefit of hindsight, to have been a poor decision.

You can probably get better odds if you solo mine or use a good solo mining pool. At least you won't be subject to block withholding attacks.  However, this won't be an good choice if you don't have a lot of resources to pay your electricity bills, buy new miners if they become obsolete before you hit the jackpot, etc... because of the "gambler's ruin problem".

A Major problem is we are having way to many orphans!!!  5.56% just this week.. Honestly im wondering if its time to shut down nmc merged mining.. As its causing to much network strain.. OR the pool has issues with the 40 ph.  it never used to be like this when we were at 15 ph steady.. this all started with the 15 ph user that jumped on .. just saying.. Been with slush off and on since march 2014.  Left a while back due to low monthly percentage.. now looks like we are headed that direction again.. im giving it till january to figure this out and then ill reavaluate ..

http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/2015/11/november-29th-2015-mining-pool.html

You can see here with the latest onslaught of orphans we are avg over 1 per week.. thats a lot of btc lost!!!  250k usd at current market value. id say thats more then enough incentive to get this sorted out!!

Would have been nice to ask Slush about the merged mining, orphans and if the pool is having issues with the 40 PH during his AMA on December 3rd.

Worker monitoring is the number one reason I'm staying with Slush as it's important to me since I host a number of miners at off site locations. The email alerts have saved me a number of times when my miners went down due to a loss of power so I knew to move them to another area to mine till the power issues were resolved. Places like Antpool I have to monitor my workers to see the drop in hash to know something is wrong.

I just started mining in November so I'm still trying to learn the ropes and what luck means etc, but if Antpool has over 100PH and they aren't having issues, then I have to ask myself other than hash rate, what makes Slush pool have such a low luck percentage?

Yeah i sure missed that.. Wish i would have known it was the third.  I did just check slush news which i should have checked prior to posting.. It looks like They are still activily trying to mitigate the issue. I know a month or so ago he had issues with teh relay network which i thought was fixed but maybe that wasnt so.. Slush pool has been around a very long time. I believe the first actual mining pool. I feel confident the issues will subside thats why im not quick to jump ship. with the recent network jumps in diff it may be that his way of calculating the amount you should have in the month is affected by the diff. idk..   i really am expecting one day soon that we hit a crazy streak of blocks..  Be a nice xmas present..  Anyway hold tight and see how it goes.. could be a bad string of variance coupled with some orphans that very well could fall well within the variance of orphans a pool might expect to get.. I think under 1 or 2 percent per year is expected. .  https://mining.bitcoin.cz/news/

The naivety and loyalty of those here is quite unsettling,
Every big pool starts out cracking plenty blocks and building a happy client base.
Somewhere down the line the luck miraculously changes and everybody gets screwed.
It's all a load of bullshnit ..
How is a 9 or 12 hour block even possible.
These pool operators all learn the tricks eventually and all of a sudden the luck changes and no one can be held accountable.
The pool operators are just filling up their personal bank accounts at our expense.
It's the same with all big business , greed and self importance take over and integrity flies out the window.
Bad luck my ..s

Im not saying slush is doing this..but I know its possible to move a stratum port to another pool  >> say a pps pool for a few hours.. Then swap it back.. All within the time so your machine will never notice.. This is a major issue i have with putting trust into another pool.. This should never have had to be an issue if we all stayed more decentralized!! ie solo mining.

this could explain the odd swings in hashrate we been experiencing idk..

If you look at this chart you can see the general decline in "luck" for two of the largest pools. http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/2015/12/december-6th-2015-mining-pool-statistics_7.html . Wish f2pool was included aswell for better reference.. But it looks to me like the bigger you get the worse your luck gets.. Starting at the 52 wk chart and working your way to last week you can see th general direction the luck is headed for the largest of the pools .. Not to say it wont pick up but sure isnt looking good...

What stands out to me on this last stretch of bad luck..    It took us with over 40 ph over 7 hours to solve a nmc block.. and 12 hours in that same time frame to solve a btc block.. WhaT the pool was doing for those 7 hours is a bit questionable for sure..   Bad luck on both coins seems a bit of a stretch to me.. On nmc thats just outright terrible luck considering its diff is less than half of btc!!
