are we still talking about one block ? , really peoples, i haven't read everything, but come on, it could also have been an orphan, or an 8 hour long block, maybe i missed something but i guess it is still about the same block, ... just chill

You should really take some time and read a few more posts before commenting and writing things like "it could also have been an orphan, or an 8 hour long block". This could decrease the ever increasing rate of spam and FUD here.

Cheers,

Eh, it's all fun and games.  I've given up on BTC mining, I'm getting marginally better returns from LTC mining on ltcmine.ru

I left slush to experiment with LTC, I'm new to all this, only 800 mh/s so wanted to see if i could make more mining LTC. I am back home at slush's now, experiment over. LTC fucking hurts my gpus lol. I seemed to get the same amount as I do here and my gpu's can breath better aswell! I just feel mining BTC on a pool like this is easier on me, less stress. There have been some blocks where I got near nothing but meh, what can I expect with my "dated" mining hardware, I just let it pass, for me thats like a loss of 10-20 pence lol  Kiss

LTC can be tricky even if cgminer shows a good amount what gets submitted may be a different story.  I fixed my LTC issues last outage but was only there for an hour or so before slush came backup.

Is the pool server's clock wrong? I checked my payout history and received payment at 12:00 UTC, but my wallet lists the transaction occurring at 06:00. I live in the UTC -4 EDT timezone, so why a 6 hour difference?

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Dunno... Last two payments I show are one at 21:08 GMT-4 and 16:17 GMT-4 Which jives with what my node is showing.

I realize the last 40 pages are about screwed up blocks, but i'm showing no reward for block 17960. lol It doesn't say 0.00000000, it says none. Whats weird is i checked it several hours ago and i had shares and a little btc showing there. Miner was running full blast. So idk. For the record, i've been quite content with Slush's pool for a long time. I make 10-20% more than pps most of the time. Thank you carry on

It happens from time to time, but after few minutes when recalculation kicks off it comes to normal.

I have a suggestion for those who are impatient (and think they are loosing shares) - add startum, stratum2, atratum3 and api to your miner and use 'load balance' as strategy. This way even if there is a problem with one of the hosts and/or shares are lost (though i doubt so - it just takes time for them to appear), then you will still get all shares from the rest of the backends. In case of connection issues with some of them you will still submit shares to the rest.

I've used stratum3 on all my workers since the hack and this is basically the first block with major issues, so i guess i shouldn't complain too much. My rewards are different/lower than before the hack, but still good enough to stay. Thanks for your advice.

add Litecoin support?

Bitcoin and Litecoin are not compatible, so they can never be mined on the same pool.

Did Slush disable merged Mining or does it still work ? Is it the same server or another one?

That's where reading the last few pages (or even just doing search) would've been very helpful.

In essence - merged mining works on getwork ONLY. Does NOT work on strtatum. Hint: Over 97% of the hashrate is on stratum.

So -

is it disabled: No
do we make a lot of NMCs: No
do we make any NMCs once in a while: Yes

Yeah but getwork = 10% fee? So it doesnt make sense to mine namecoin at slushs

As announced in Getwork deprecation plan, the hashrate on Stratum is far above 90%, so workers which are still using the deprecated Getwork protocol are now charged by 10% fee. Please update your software and start using modern Stratum miners to reduce your fees back to 2%!

yes and no..... Using the Stratum server ( can't set to Getwork with the GPU miner i'm trying out.. yet... ) and have a NMC registered so still getting shares for namecoin.  Some of the NameCoin blocks are either really long or not enough hash rate to deal with them.  Check it out at https://mining.bitcoin.cz/stats/nmc/

I think this is by design (and not necessarily a problem).

At midnight when it calculates the totals many of the blocks are not yet confirmed, so it can't count them (at least not yet - some may get orphaned or invalidated).

So as a result it would be always a day behind.
