The LUCK of the pool is VERY important.

Very important when it comes to estimating your weekly income. Not much use when it comes to choosing a pool though. You can't make decisions based on historical luck. The number of shares solved each round are independent of previous rounds, so historical luck is no indicator of future luck.

The bigger the pool gets, the smaller the rewards per round.

... and the more blocks get solved. So your daily income remains the same, but lots of small rewards more regularly mean reduced variance. The larger the pool, the less the variance (ignoring differences in reward method).

And as difficulty increases, there will become a time when my 207 Gh/s will only net me what your 1 Antminer gets you today

I think I will end up buying the other 4 antminers.  About how long do they last as I have read that at best you will get 0.02 out of one.  I'm guessing after that they no longer work.  I have been running mine for about 30 hours and last I looked I was getting about 1.49Gh/s.

One more question.  I saw a comment on one forum saying that the antminers are going for around 20 bucks each.  The cheapest I have been able to find a 1.6Gh/s one is 50 and that was on eBay.  What is a good price for them?

If at best you will get 0.02 out of one then the highest reasonable price for it is about $20. I've also only seen offers several times higher. But... looks like there are still some people willing to spend it...

Where are you finding the USB antminers for $20?

If you search on this forum, then you can find prices that beat eBay, If you can pay in BTc. If you need to use paypal then you will pay ebay prices.

So true.  Last March my GPU alone was earning more than three times what I currently get for two block eruptors and a Jalapeno.  I'm still making a profit over the cost of the hardware and electricity because of the rise in the value of BTC, but it won't last.  After that, unless BTC shoots upwards again, if I continue it will be strictly for amusement.

Since last April the difficulty value has risen more than 200 times. At that time, it was possible to make several BTC cents a day with only a single GPU.

Speaking of that, it would be nice if the web admin changed it so that when you select a subrange on the Daily Rewards graph, it autoscaled the x-axis. There's a lot of white space above the daily and average rewards lines now which makes them less useful. Also, it hurts my heart to see 10x the hashrate earn 1/10 the income.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask...how to find out the "Pool Address" for setting up an Asicminer Cube to work with Slush's Pool. I think I've got everything setup correctly, except the Pool Address. I've already downloaded and started the stratum proxy - downloaded that from bitcoin.cz. Anyone know how I look up the pool address?

Now I'm reconsidering using my mined BTC for additional equipment... Glad I didn't rush into that next group buy, but still might end up doing it. How soon are these guys plugging in?

Do any of you ever shutdown your computer/mining equipment so that it has a day or so to rest?  I have been running my laptop with the screen down and off for a few days now along with the one antiminer that I have.  Just wondering if it is a good idea to give it some down time and if so how long and how often?

when it's working leave it well alone.

Make sure you have enough cooling and ventilation.

Laptops are more prone to overheating than PC towers.
