Not sure what's going on, but I'm getting paid a lot less than normal this last week. I've been getting .05-.06 btc every block but now I'm lucky to get .02 or even .01 every block. Normally I get around .7-1 btc in a day and I'm not even getting .3 on most days. Has something changed that I missed?

Quick question, am I able to log multiple computers into one worker id? Would this affect performance? Thanks

Yes, you can. You won't be able to tell the computers apart in statistics but otherwise it would be fine.

My mining speed is ridiculous: 0.0005 coins per day (i started yesterday) 1800 khps ... ? how can i improve this?

Post your specs, then people can know if it isn't just a problem with your hardware or settings.

Didn't realize we hit that already, looking it up I see it was the 25th... That kind of sucks, at least short term.

Hi,

Newbie here.  Just getting into this, and I'm attempting to get this system working:

Powermac Quadcore PPC G5 (64bit)
MacOS 10.5.8

The sticking point appears to be that JRE 1.6 is required (to run BitMinter), and it isn't
clear that java 1.6 can run on this machine.  I've spent some time googling and trying
various things, but thought I would see if anyone else has gotten a miner set up on
this type of system.

thanks

Not worth running on that machine, you'll pay more in electricity than you'll see virtually no return. Refer to my post above on the previos page already explaining what you need.

i just tried to add my address to the namecoin payout, but it says my address is type BTC not NMC
how do I fix this? I'm running bitcoin now, and that's the only address I have in the wallet so far.

I can't seem to find a "create namecoin address"

I've experimented with this a bit so far and I will say it is the most user-friendly thing that has come out of Bitcoin so far, all you do is install the client and java then turn it on.

I will say though that the sign in process was a bit of an unnecessary pain in the arse.

Is there a way to speed this up?
I see people doing like thousands of Mhps but I am doing like 50Mhps
with an OC'd ATI Radeon HD 5500 videocard.

in 3 days it's made about 0.01BTC Embarrassed

I'd buy a better card, but spending a lot of money on a high-end video card sort of defeats the point of making BTC, I doubt the card could ever pay for it's self.  Huh

Hmm, BFI patch failing. Which AMD Catalyst release is this with?

Perhaps try reinstalling the latest Catalyst drivers, and you could also try clearing the java cache so BitMinter client gets downloaded fresh the next time you start it.

Faster hardware will speed it up. People are moving to ASIC-based mining equipment now. No point buying a faster graphics card for mining anymore. See the ASIC section on the hardware comparison wiki page. They will make GPU-mining unprofitable as they push up the difficulty.

Good day

I have tried reinstalling the latest drivers 13.1 and also tried the latest beta 13.2 drivers, I did what you said about clearing the cache and then it downloaded the bitminter client again and still no luck Sad

Removed all drivers and did a clean install of them too, also tried with earlier versions of bitminter.
