hello there, how could i OC my 2nd and 3rd gpu without crossfire cable connect to the gpu?(they are all 7970) and using cata 13.4 & win 7
thanks
You can use MSI-Afterburner for OC-ing each card individual. Probably you already know that you shouldnot use the crossfire cable for mining. MSI-Afterburner is straightforward and does a pretty good job. Don't use the vector flag in your miner for 7970cards Thank you very much!!!

Why? since you really are pushing the cards 24/7/365 overheating is common. with 2 or 3 or even 4 cards setting the clocks separating them can help. if you have the cards linked setting separate clocks is not possible. on my 3 x 7970 setup I have 3 completely different sets of clocks. can't do that with crossfire connections in place.

Thx, I do not overclock my cards because doing so does not really add much to the processing speed and the heat is an issue. I also ran into a little instability over clocking so I just leave them to run normally. Thx again always good to learn something new.

Why did you eliminate temperature control for GPUs? The bitminter client lets them heat up to 95C and my PC shuts down. The options menu lets one select between C and F, but, I've never seen it display GPU temperature. I can run uninterrupted using cgminer.

I didn't eliminate it - it was never there. Only BFL ASIC and BFL FPGA are supported for temperature display. Temperature display, fan control, over/under clocking control, etc. are all still on the TODO list. If your card is not cooled well enough then I would think it is best to underclock it to achieve stable mining. Perhaps this is what you are doing with cgminer? With BitMinter client you'd have to use another program for the underclocking, like MSI Afterburner, which also has nice fan control.

I used to mine with Bitminter before the Bitcoin prices skyrocketed, it is a great pool that I highly recommend. Also pretty strong hashing power.

Hello,
Just started mining with Bitminter about a week ago. Can someone explain or point me in the right direction on what the different icons mean on the mining screen? I know what the block icon is but what are the others like the bomb, etc?
Thanks, Bill

Hold your mouse pointer over an icon for a moment and all will be revealed.

Using bitminter.com. nice. but should advertise running costs upfront.

The 1% fee is on the front page. The sign up page tells you about the default donation setting and how you can change it after signup. But I know most users don't really read the text on the website. Half the questions I get are already answered on the front page. Perhaps there is too much text, or it needs to be presented in a different way? I've been thinking about a FAQ or Wiki. For the fees etc. I have been considering a price list page, although it would be pretty simple so far. Mining: 1% + what you donate, if any. Cash out: free.

Been using this for my USB asic and its going good so far. I tried to use it on an old nvidia gpu but id iddnt detect the card to start mining off it. I dont know if i did something wrong or its just not supported.

Depends how old the nVidia is. The very old ones don't support OpenCL and can't be used. The ones with OpenCL work. But mining on nvidia doesn't make much sense... ASIC is the way
