1.  I get messages all the time:

"Error accessing the Mobileminer API (500)" & "Error accessing the Mobileminer API (400)"
"Error parsing the Coinchoose.com JSON API"
"Error parsing the Coinwarz.com JSON API"

Click the links in the notifications to see the issue. The APIs are returning errors. Not much I can do there. Sometimes CoinChoose.com is down. Sometimes CoinWarz.com returns API key errors if you go over your allotment. Again click the link to see the issue.

2.  Also, I cannot get Multiminer (backend bfgminer) to mine on any GPU card at a decent hashrate without totally crashing my computer using the
following scrypt parameters (but I have no problem using cgminer).

     -I 20,16,13 -w 128,128,128 --shaders 2048,1024,512 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --temp-target 85,75,75 --temp-cutoff 95,80,80 --no-submit-stale
     --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-platform 0 --gpu-threads 1 --scan-time 60 --disable-rejecting

Try removing all the arguments and adding them back until things are stable. Mining with many different types of GPUs is fraught with frustration, failure, and poor performance. I have never once heard anyone else claim otherwise.

4.  I can't seem to get remoting to work - I click on the remote computer node, but nothing displays in the main window.  If I go to the remote
computer via Teamviewer, there is a message in the running instance of Multiminer on the (remote) machine stating "Multiminer remoting signature
    verification failed."

All rigs need MultiMiner installed and must be on the same Intranet and Workgroup. If you are getting a signature failure that means they are not on the same Workgroup or you have assigned different passwords in the Perks screen.

5.  Lastly, my biggest problem seems to be when either an exception occurs in either bfgminer or Multiminer and because of the JIT debugger I must
answer with a "Details", "Continue", or "Quit" button - I don't have this issue in say GUIMiner or GUIMiner-Scrypt.  So is there something that I am
doing incorrectly here, or is there no centralized app specific error handler?

Nothing you are doing incorrectly. What you are seeing is the centralized error handler. Report the error details on here or Github and then click Continue.

Thanks for the feedback and bug reports all - version 2.5.5 is now available with a handful of small fixes:

  • Fixed a null reference error mining with one or more devices unconfigured
  • Fixed the option to "Set Dynamic Intensity based on computer use" - broken in 2.5
  • Detect when CoinChoose.com returns a 502 "Bad Gateway" and retry once automatically
  • Maximum length for manually entered coin symbols is now 5 (to prevent MobileMiner API errors)

I am glad you were able to resolve the issue, but reinstalling from the EXE doesn't touch any XML files, nor does updating.

Not sure what the cause of it was as tried what you said to do and then restarted crashed again with same error but without xml file so reinstalled clean and kept coin info and was ok

both coinchoose and coinwarz are down as far as I can tell.

Is there a way to monitor bfgminers reported realtime difficulty?

Is there anyway to check the realtime difficulty bfgminer is reporting while multiminer is running?

I can add it to the to-do list for a future update. CoinWarz seems up to me. Right now CoinChoose is returning junk data which is causing issues (I've alerted them).

wow, you answered before I was done editing my reply for grammar lol  awesome, ill switch back to coinwarz

I had noticed coinchoose going a little nutso (wrong block rewards on one coin, way off difficulty on a couple more etc) prompting this querie lol

thanks

when u dont have inet connection and u press start u get a bluescreen!!

Never seen this - or a BSOD for that matter any time recently.

Time to stop using XP!  Cheesy

Cheesy heheheh

nope thats win 8.1 :-)

and i can reproduce it everytime with the inet cable unplugged.

1 more suggestion,

how about creating a backup of the config files? (xml files)...??
so if any of them r corrupt, it loads the backup.

that way it can always start!!!

I just updated MuM and now it will not accept my LiteCoin pool even though all I did was update and let it restart.
Exact error:
"Noe of the pools configured for LiteCoin could be used.  Verify your pool settings and try again."

Sounds like something wrong with your system on either a hardware or driver level. User-land software cannot BSOD Windows. Try the following to diagnose:

http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Analyze-a-BSOD-Crash-Dump/

how about creating a backup of the config files? (xml files)...??

There is already handling built in for 0 byte XML files. No idea why it didn't kick in for crazyearner. In my tests 0-byte XML files are properly handled by the app.

"Noe of the pools configured for LiteCoin could be used.  Verify your pool settings and try again."

Nothing magical going on here...the pools are down.

Edit: if you feel an issue was introduced in 2.5.5 you can download previous releases at http://releases.multiminerapp.com, however the only things found in 2.5.5 are minor bug fixes.

I use LTCRabbit.
It mines Doge ok though and BTC.
Apparently some people are having issues but it is sporadic.
I will mine doge for a bit while they get it taken care of.

Add multiple pools for each coin you mine. That way when they are down they will automatically switch to pools that are up. You should try to have at least 2 different pools for each coin. Then you don't have to switch to a different coin.

Very true!  I have two backups for my BTC but I never really did much with scrypt.  I have two pools thought I will get that setup now.

I will check that out now as well.
I only run about 112kh/s or so though.  Just a R7 250 until I can afford a couple better cards for my system.  Will I still get as much out of it as I do pool mining?

>>>>> OK, I can see that occurring.  What about the MobileMiner API error messages 400 & 500?

>>> I have had great performance with GUIMiner-Scrypt using different brands of cards.  It uses CGMiner as you know and it does play nice - I have had no problems using it.  So, why do I believe in MultiMiner? -- because it is the only software that is GUI based that acts as a great front-end to bfgminer (which has its own problems and idiosyncrasies that I don't have the time for) which supports GPU and ASIC mining, Scrypt or SHA-2.  No other software that I have evaluated does them both BECAUSE they were all forks off of a previous work.

>>> They are!  The are both on the same intranet, workgroup, AND there are no passwords in either installation.

>>> Quite frankly, that would be quite cumbersome.  JIT dialog box doesn't allow CTRL-A to select all of the text so one can copy the error message easily to put into an email message.  Does Github support a central database for data collection for Software Architects?  A certain amount of free space on GitHub or some other place whereby client software sends error message data directly to the collection server WITHOUT user intervention, so that the data can be profiled and a fix be found?

Now if someone who knows can answer question 3 I'll be all set!  How are devices enumerated in bfgminer and then MultiMiner?  Is the first device shown on a bfgminer -S opencl:auto -d? considered device 0 or the last possible enumerated device?
