I use cgminer v2.2 with my guiminer-scrypt and get 420K with the following settings for my 6950

thread-concurrency 8400
worksize 256

intensity 18
vectors=1
GPU threads = 1

Ive tried downloading cgminer 3.8 to use with v1.4 of multiminer but again, it doesnt see any of my cards.

cgminer 3.8 does not support GPU mining. You need to manually download version 3.7.2 and then unzip it unto the MultiMiner\Miners\cgminer folder if you would like to GPU mine with cgminer and MultiMiner 1.4. That should solve that issue. Please let me know if not.

Ive tried again using multiminer v2.2 with bfgminer, no extra settings in the backend miner, just as it comes, when i start it i get 15Khash for the 6950.

That's the problem. While I am looking at automatically discovering scrypt arguments based on GPU model, for now you need to research and enter that manually. To reproduce the settings GUIMiner is using:

  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced backend miner settings
  • Under Arguments, Scrypt, enter:

Code:
--thread-concurrency 8400 --worksize 256 --intensity 18 --vectors 1 --gpu-threads 1

Check this link under the Config column for other viable configurations for your GPU:

Hi

Ive downloaded 3.7.2 but get an error when trying to start multiminer unhandled exception

To be honest im not too fussed about cgminer as long as i can get similar decent hash rates from bfgminer.

Ive downloaded v2.3.3 of multiminer and can now get 410 khash from my 6950, is there any way to set the card settings differently as i have 2 cards running on my rigs, for instance on this one i have a 6950 and a 5750, in guiminer i have different settings for both, ie thread concurrency.

By the way thanks for a great piece of software, i work in systems dev in business and know how much work is involved in putting something like this together so thanks again for all your hard work.

Yes that should be possible using the same arguments and commas:

Code:
--thread-concurrency 8400,3008

This will use thread concurrency 8400 for the first device and 3008 for the second.

By the way thanks for a great piece of software, i work in systems dev in business and know how much work is involved in putting something like this together so thanks again for all your hard work.

My pleasure!

You are not forced to pick from the list and can add any coin you like (just type in the name).

New idea to have.

So you have switch for best coin etc mining based on scrypt and sha.

an extra addon for this to independently select miners to mine on different things.

For example: gpus mine on scrpyt base on profitability etc or difficulty. and Asic stuff such as usb avalon bfl etc mine on sha coins

This is how MultiMiner already works, unless I am misunderstanding your suggestion. If you set it to automatically mine, your GPUs will mine scrypt currencies and your ASICs will mine SHA-2 currencies.

Maybe I misunderstood?

Ah ok so gps when mining with gpu and asic it will tell asic to mine best sha and tell gpus to mine scrypt ?

I want gpus to be only scrpyt based like option for it to tick and say only mine scrypt based on diff or profit i just changed to add them and theri mining uno based on bitcoin however it needs maybe options for both bitcoin litecoin etc

Ah ok so gps when mining with gpu and asic it will tell asic to mine best sha and tell gpus to mine scrypt ?

MultiMiner will never try to mine scrypt coins using ASICs. Additionally, if you have it set to automatically mine based on profit, your GPUs should never mine SHA-2 coins because they are always less profitable.

Ok ill try setting some more scrypt coins up and trying.

Hi folks! Version 2.2.4 of MultiMiner is now available consisting (almost) entirely of user requests:

  • Added the ability to pass additional arguments to the mining engine when scanning for hardware (for hardware that does not support automatic probing - in Advanced miner settings)
  • The location for log files is now configurable (in Advanced application settings)
  • The location for device-independent configuration files can now be overridden (also in Advanced application settings)
  • Added a new menu designed for accessibility for handicapped users (again available in the Advanced application settings dialog)
  • Added the option to donate more than 1% (requested by users - thank you!)
  • Made adjustments to the pools used for perk donations

Keep that feedback coming  Grin

Version 2.2.5 of MultiMiner is now available as a bugfix release:

  • Fixed an error if the mine-on-startup delay is set too low (e.g. 1 second)
  • Fixed an error notifying on Block Found or Share Accepted for a coin configuration that the user has since deleted
  • Additional donation pools added for perks
  • Fixed an error using the automatic update feature within the application
  • Setting GPU mining environment variables is now optional (under Advanced application settings)
  • Fixed a null reference error on startup for new users
  • Fixed inability to check/uncheck Dynamic Intensity in the new accessible menu

i just tried this,my initial hash rate was in limits where it should be and than after couple of minutes started to drop to almost zero, tried adding scrypt for intensity and concurrency but after that cant even start mining.
was using std. scrypt for my card(7850)
--thread-concurrency 12404 --worksize 256 --intensity 18

If you go to the Process Log in MultiMiner you can see the exact arguments it is using to launch bfgminer. Try launching bfgminer with those same arguments and see if bfgminer alone starts to putter out after a few minutes.

Copying and pasting the arguments here too might help (again from the Process Log).

Does anyone use the Base Coin option in Strategies to base profitability on Litecoin? If so, why?

I'm tempted to drop the feature as that list consistently has less coins and less information.

I added this as a user request in the past but am curious if it is still used/useful?

I have multiminer working ok on 3 of my 4 rigs  Grin

my 4th rig has a R9 270X card in it and i get 100% errors using the same settings as i have in guiminer-scrypt

--thread-concurrency 8192 --worksize 256 --intensity 18 --vectors 1 --gpu-threads 1

Ive tried reducing the intensity but no better.

any ideas?

I don't have any of the newest AMD cards but in my experience 100% HW errors means the other scrypt parameters are not correct (not intensity). Try Googling for settings for your card or checking here:

https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison#AMD_.28ATI.29

Code:
-I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16384
-I 19 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16000
-I 19 -g 1 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 15232

dont have to option to copy arguments from process log,but i have tried same arguments directly in bfgminer and its doing same thing running good for couple of minutes than start droping

really not using anythign special just "-I 14 --thread-concurrency 12404 -w 256" wich giving good resaults in gui-scrypt miner form my 2gb 7850

dont have to option to copy arguments from process log

You can do it with CTRL+C and CTRL+V

i have tried same arguments directly in bfgminer and its doing same thing running good for couple of minutes than start droping

Not sure on that issue - first I've heard of it. Maybe someone else has some suggestions. My only suggestion is the same as I gave to the above fellow: try Googling for settings for your specific card model or use this chart:

https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison#AMD_.28ATI.29

Code:
-I 12 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192
-I 19 --thread-concurrency 27164
-I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16000

Try adjusting the settings to find a combination that is more stable.

thx for help.
oh,maybe some1 already asked but does multiminer support other miners or just bfg?

here are the arguments from process log
Code:
--scrypt  -I 18 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 12404 --scan noauto --quota "100;de1.miningpool.co:9203" -u xxxx.1 -p xxxxx --scan opencl:auto -d OCL0 --api-listen --api-port 4028 --api-allow W:127.0.0.1, -T
