I for the love of god cannot get bfgminer to work for more than 5 mins.  I have been trying ever since you released 2.0.  I set everything up fine to my knowledge and just following your screen shots even but it just won't mine for long.  Every time it switches coins it zeros out in hash rate and then restarts after 2-3 mins due to low hash rate 2 to 3 times then finally starts up good again.  To lose that much time when I switch coins every 5 mins is a huge loss.  If I switch to cgminer with all the same settings and a 1.x version of mm all is well.

Is there any way you could add the ability back to use cgminer?  At least an older version that was stable and good for scrypt like 3.3.1?  Then just lock it there so you wouldn't have to worry about all the new versions that have been a headache for you to work with?  I'm sure that's a very big order and something that won't happen but I have to ask.  As I love mm and have been using it since the beginning but I am sure eventually mobile miner will stop letting me use 1.x and the app will go out of support.

Out of curiosity do you use Dynamic Intensity? If so there was a bug that caused MultiMiner to restart the miners if that was enabled along with the option to restart "suspect" miners.

Beyond that please give me a direct message in here or via email so we can discuss the specifics and try to figure out what is going wrong.

Is there any way you could add the ability back to use cgminer?  At least an older version that was stable and good for scrypt like 3.3.1?  Then just lock it there so you wouldn't have to worry about all the new versions that have been a headache for you to work with?

That's what version 1.4 is  Grin I'm not going to make it stop working with MobileMiner. I can and will go back and update 1.4 if needed and I have no intention of breaking anything.

Version 2.1 is now available with the following changes:

  • Introducing Perks: enable a 1% donation to the software author to enable bonus (non-essential) features
  • Exchange Rate Perk: shows USD rates for all coins within the application
  • Estimated Income Perk: shows estimated coin income both per-device and total, along with a USD total (if the Exchange Rate Perk is also enabled)
  • The Driver column is now hidden by default to make room for new information
  • Fixed occasions where the Start button would remain disabled after using the Quick Switch feature

I'm using your MultiMiner version 2.1, however cannot change the intensity setting. It's always set to D (dynamic mode).

In the advanced miner settings I use:

-I 13 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune -20,-20 --auto-fan --temp-target 65,65 --temp-overheat 85,85 --temp-cutoff 90,90 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500 --gpu-engine 1080,1080 --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale

And the "Automatically set dynamic intensity checkbox" is ticked off.

Please advise, it's killing my hashrate (around 20-50 khs where it should be 740 khs per card).

I've no miner arguments set per in the coin section.

In the process log, i cannot copy and paste it it seems, but it shows both the -I 13 and -I D is set.

In the process log, i cannot copy and paste it it seems, but it shows both the -I 13 and -I D is set.

In the upper-right, click the Advanced Tools menu and then uncheck Dynamic Intensity. Then restart mining.

If that is not the case, please try some screenshots that illustrate the issue since copy & paste is not working for you. Thanks!  Grin

That did the trick, thanks!

Minor bug report

- With "perks" enabled (i love your program), the currency symbol (BTC, PPC) is not updated after a quick switch to another coin using the context menu. However the amount is (just the currency symbol is not). For example if I'm mining bitcoins, it will say 0.002 BTC and after quick switching to PPC it will say 0.00013 BTC (where it should say PPC).

I hope I'm clear enough Smiley

Some small requests/ideas/suggestions:

- Small button "Determine strategy now"
- Add a Daily USD column
- Start / Stop devices individually through the context menu

- Small button "Determine strategy now"

I think clicking Restart should do this? If not let me know.

- Add a Daily USD column

Great idea - I'll add it  Smiley

- Start / Stop devices individually through the context menu

Currently you can uncheck them and then restart mining once and the unchecked ones will be disabled.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions!

Accepted, Rejected, and Errors only show if there are values for them. To enable the Exchange Rate and Income info, go to Settings > Perks or right-click and go to Perks.

Can someone please take a minute to reupload the latest installer somewhere else like mediafire, dropbox, whatever, as every github link I try in firefox download instantly at 1kb and does not work, and right clicking and saving it only saves the picture of the download button! I'll xfer u some ltc for the trouble Smiley

I'm also going to need quite a lot of help with getting CGminer to run it, as I've only had it a day and am not a linux whiz kid. Is there a guide?

Two more quick questions:

1) can I mine BTC and LTC with standard OSX miners like macminer or asteroid, if I use "direct ports: For mining a single coin" and point them to the right address?
2) When you log into the pool is the username andpassword the same as the one on the multipool registration process?

Grr. I've been using this since your first release. libusb-1.0.dll is now missing after installing the new version. I tried standard dll updates and still MM won't recognize it.

Help! My hash is wasting away! My poor ASICs are lonely.

libusb-1.0.dll is distributed with bfgminer. It's found in MultiMiner\Miners\bfgminer. You can also find it by by downloading bfgminer here:

Version 2.1.1 of MultiMiner is now available with just a handful of minor changes:

  • Shortened timeouts for API calls (CoinChoose, CoinWarz, Coinbase)
  • Added error handling for the Coinbase API
  • Added additional donation pools

Thanks for all the feedback and happy mining  Grin

Love this app, great work on it!

A few feature suggestions, not sure if they've been suggested in this thread already:

  • Ability to set a mining schedule. eg: only mine from 8AM - 5PM and then again from 12AM to 7:30AM during the week
  • Strategy per card. eg: dedicate 1 card to LiteCoin, but my other 3 to whatever is most profitable at the time
  • Ability to exclude a coin from any strategy calculations

Also, i'm not exactly clear on how to use cgminer instead of bfgminer?

Other than that, keep up the awesome work!

  • Ability to set a mining schedule. eg: only mine from 8AM - 5PM and then again from 12AM to 7:30AM during the week

I've had a few people ask for this. It's something I've left out until now to keep things simple. Note that you can enable an option under Settings, Advanced miner settings to automatically enable Dynamic Intensity when the computer is in-use. I know it is not the same but it may help you get by for now.

I will look into the scheduling and see how best to do this. Maybe I can just add a few command line arguments so that you can use the Windows Task Scheduler or cron or whatever.

  • Strategy per card. eg: dedicate 1 card to LiteCoin, but my other 3 to whatever is most profitable at the time

Good idea. I've added it to my list.

  • Ability to exclude a coin from any strategy calculations

If you don't want a coin configuration to be used you can uncheck the "Coin configuration enabled" option in the Coins dialog.

Also, i'm not exactly clear on how to use cgminer instead of bfgminer?

MultiMiner 2.0 only works with bfgminer. If you need cgminer support you will need to download and use version 1.4. You can read more about it here:

- Add a Daily USD column

Thanks again for this suggestion. In the interest of screen real-estate I've made it so that, when you click the Daily column, it toggles between showing the values in coin or in USD. This will be in the next update.

One thing that might make the software even better is showing the fan speed.  From what I remember, BFGminer includes fan speed in part of its display, which really helped me keep an eye on intensity arguments.

Thanks again for the suggestion. The next update includes fan speed along with the other device details.
