Really, i don' t want merit, i want bitcoins... You want Bitcoins? I am sure you can get some Bitcoins because earning Bitcoin is not hard at all and anyone can earn it. Even some Newbie members who are not talented, and their skills aren't countable, could earn Bitcoins. Now don't ask me to show you the method from which you can earn Bitcoins. You should look into this forum deeply, and you will find plenty of ways to earn Bitcoins, however in case if you aren't able to find something specific or particular to your needs then always you can use Google for that. But, earning merits as a user from this forum isn't easy. It requires skills, creativity, and most importantly hard work. You will have to be skilled, and at the same hard-working to earn some merits. So remember one thing "Earning Bitcoins is easy for everyone but earning merits is not for everyone."

Update for this week. As one of basic characteristics of mean and median, the updated median of all 34-week distributed merits have not fluctuated significantly than the previous weeks' figures. What does it mean? It means that the forum has almost normal week, which has un-significantly change in total weekly distributed merits. Nearly 0.7% decrease than the median of previous week. (4390-4420)*100/4420 = - 0.68%

Earning Bitcoins is easy for everyone but earning merits is not for everyone.
I can`t agree with that. The word "earn" implies work and efforts, without which the desired result cannot be achieved. We are annoyed by new members who come to the forum for easy money, for which they don`t even want to try a bit. But at the same time we ourselves incite them to this "activity", claiming that everyone can easy get bitcoin. I believe that for each bitcointalk member it`s necessary to understand that he won`t receive anything by doing nothing. Only diligence can be the cause of success. As for earning Bitcoin, and both for obtaining merit, and for gaining respect of other participants, colossal efforts are needed. If a forum member is guided by another “free of charge” attitude, he won`t succeed.

trying so many days to get merits.now i came to know lets post some good contents
You must forget the existence of merit, maybe one day, you gonna have it. There are many good contents all over the forum and not all of those post are merited, the thing is build your name, post good content, and think on how will you earn through informations here, not merit, it will just cause you to embrace anxiety.

Hmmm... This merit system seems a little bit unfair. I've been a Jr. User for quite some time now, but since I've not been posting much lately, I haven't received any merit. So... Now my rank has set back to Newbie. That's a little bit painfull, because now my images in threads I've started aren't showing any more. So, I think I need to post some new quality posts fast to earn my merit. Well, life isn't fair! However not having a high rank when you're not being active sounds pretty fair to me! But you have one very good point in your post... there are many accounts which were created just to post an [ANN] thread by a team and were not active afterwards, those accounts probably have 0 merit so their images will be hidden after the last change. Ofcourse main accounts exchanged merit with alt accounts to overcome this issue, but this beats the whole point of the 1 merit requirement. In the future, if more changes like that happen, I wish to see a differentiation of image blocking and signature blocking. One of the problems with the spam in the forums is the signature farming, the image posting isn't an issue as far as I know. Let's not damage fair use of the forums along the cancerous part.

So basically the better quality your posts the more posts creates better merit?

Yes. With the quality post, one can easily get merits. Also, in a very short time. You have to post constructive, on-topic posts. Sometimes, people also merit some funny posts though. LoyceV and DdmrDdmr have gotten more than 1000 merits after the system introduction. There are a lot of users who already have ranked up. You can check the list here- UP Rank List - Congratulations! There`s no correlation between the number of written posts and the number of merits. Only quality matters. One good post can get dozens of merits, and on the other hand, ten useless posts won`t be evaluated at all. Focus on quality, not quantity, and you`ll see the result.

In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are: Rank | Required activity | Required merit | Brand new | 0 | 0 | Newbie | 1 | 0 | Jr Member | 30 | 1 | Member | 60 | 10 | Full Member | 120 | 100 | Sr. Member | 240 | 250 | Hero Member | 480 | 500 | Legendary | Random in the range 775-1030 | 1000 |
You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points can be sent by you to other people. Certain users are designated as "merit sources". They can create new merit out of nothing, up to a limited number per month (which differs per source). I will not be posting a definitive list of merit sources (so that people don't bug them too much), though you'll soon figure out who they are if you pay attention. There is currently no such thing as a "demerit". I'm hoping that the positive merits alone will be fine. I could add demerits pretty easily later on if necessary, though. I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by: - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc. - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line. While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with. Do not beg for merit excessively. Useful infographicsForum users have helpfully created some infographics to explain the merit system: paxmao's infographicibminer's infographic8Habits's infographicJetSet11's infographiczentdex's infographicalia_armelle's infographicIf you want to be a merit source: 1. Be a somewhat established member. 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully. 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source. I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections. Trivia:For current members, your initial merit score is equal to the minimum required to your rank. Of that, a certain amount (less than the usual half) is spendable. The spendable amount was calculated based on your current rank and the number of activity points you earned in the last year. A Legendary member who hasn't posted in the last year would still be Legendary, but would not have any spendable merit. If someone sends you 1 merit, the 0.5 sMerit is not wasted; it is just not shown until you get another merit point. There are stats here, and you can find someone's merit summary by clicking the "merit" link on their profile. been going up on activity but no marit and i want some marit so i can go up in rank

I will going to buy that copper membership even if I am a jr. member already but I like the privileged that is given or provided to copper member. It seems fair to me in just a small fee for it. I have seen also that there are many copper member in this forum and it would be great to be like them. I'll just have to wait for some bounty rewards for it. LOL

If you really want to get "some marit", then after you learn how to write this word correctly, pay attention to improving the quality of your posts. I went through your post history and amidst a huge amount of bounty-related-one-line-comments found nothing worthwhile and useful. No one will give you merits for the fact that you have been clogging the bitcointalk forum for a year and a half.

I'd say you've already been promoted well past the rank you actually deserve thanks to the marit airdrop... To quote from that cinematic masterpiece, Caddyshack:

Christmas season is coming is there a chance of merit system deactivation? Is there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus? Marry merit in Christmas or maybe in new years eve. I think merit is the best gift ever to crypto communities if possible.

You seem to be a sea of contradiction there: you ask about deactivating the Merit System, only to ask in the next line if there is any chance of a bonus. The “bonus” seems to have got the horny side of phonetics, to the extent that you are considering getting married to merit come Xmas season. It all seems like a metaphor of marriage: can I deactivate it-> no -> marry and bonus?

Yes. There is a chance. Approximately .00005193276% Is there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus?
Yes. There is a chance. Approximately .00273707129005% Marry merit in Christmas or maybe in new years eve.
Likely, for holiday celebration sakes, your time would be better striving for such cheer through other avenues, perhaps in the real world, but of course, online has become more and more of a interaction mode for people. This part of your post seems to be caught up in several contradictions: 1) in terms of your merit hopium, perhaps attempting to reverse psychology someone into granting your fantasylandia pussy passive merit begging? 2) mischaracterizing the impact of merit. Sure, this forum has an impact on crypto, and surely this forum started with bitcoin because it was, then, the only game in town, yet your characterization of "crypto community" seems to suggest that you don't understand the difference between bitcoin and crypto - and that you just amalgamate them into one vague word, and 3) your suggestion that this merit system was implemented as a gift also seems to be misleading (and perhaps another passive way of merit begging), when in fact a more accurate depiction of this merit system would be as a tool or even an obstacle against shitposting and account farming. Edit:Christmas season is coming is there a chance of merit system deactivation? Is there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus? Marry merit in Christmas or maybe in new years eve. <...>

1) Self-Custody is a right. There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k
