Merit & new rank requirements

 Required merit is too too much. I have been a "hero member" for a long time now but because of the 500+ merit requirement I can't seem to get anywhere near that level. Its almost impossible to reach to 500+ merit. I think it should be lowered by a lot.

Man, It's easier. You know I have got 259 merits within 4 months and I would get more if I were not red tagged. It's easier, just stay active and be helpful. I will work for everyone.

It's the week of merit (anniversary) so was thinking of meriting you +1 but after I went through your post history and notice you have been bumping your announcement thread with almost look alike replies I got discourage although your last reply was average but me meriting it will just be encouraging you to spam more with the privilege of adding image. If you ask me, the jnr and member rank, needs more adjustment the rest are just OK. something like this.

I don't mind theymos increasing other ranks too.  Bitcoin is going nowhere anytime soon so is the forum. we'll surely get to those ranks we admire if we post right and have patience. Is better to be slow and sure then to be fast and fall (red tagged)

Thanks for the feedback. We try to post daily on all our channels to stay in touch with our supporters, as we wouldn't want anyone to think we've gone AWOL that's all. We would love to answer more questions, but engagement just hasn't been there recently. We do have a very lively private, invite-only Telegram channel (to avoid spam), where we answer our most loyal followers' questions, which probably results in less questions on public forums.

Sum of last 4 week merit circulation:

3245+4272+5859+6068= 19444.

sMerits quota for 28 days = 20735 *(28/30) = 19352

19444 > 19352

So Ignoring first few month (airdropped merit effect) and spike occurred in September (cause due to Jr. Member 1 Merit requirement). I guess this is the first time when Merit circulated are more than source sMerits.

I guess main reason might be Pharmacist post which caused theymos to increase the quota of active merit sources and addition of few more merit sources.

Yeah and other than this, a lot of sMerits were spent after the ANN of DefaultTrust changes because the activity was increased hugely. As a result, other people also shared sMerits.

It's good to see a healthy amount of smerits in circulation, sources being much more active in the forum.
It's safe to say we are over the newbie demotion uproar has died down and the system is functioning accurately now. Also activity in the forum is increasing gradually after a drop during the market crash last November.

Bear in mind that the Merit Source allowance was resized on the 05/01/2019. I have no idea how many cases were resized, but those that were had their allowance topped-up again on that date with the new quota. That effectively means that the overall aggregate sMerit has been larger than the usual value for a 30 day period (currently set at 20735 sMerit per 30 days).

Your activity has still been 528, so you should be a Hero with old ranking system, without merit system, not too long (2 to 4 weeks ago).

Well, you posted not very much since Merit System introduction. I've counted all your posts since January 24, 2018 (around 55 posts, 32 of them in Announcement threads) and I think your received Merit is a very good rate for your number of posts and where you did them.

Every rank can be reach with good and constructive posting on any given topic. Think that mostly this is bad for spammers and they quit this cuz they cant spam. This is actually a good thing for the forum less spam.
On this I must say that I tried to look several years in past for many topic here and to see what was the difference on from some point I must say that many members new and old started to write post not just to say few word for something. For this now every rank that requires merit will be challenge for every newcomer here.

Is there still the slightest chance of a new rank, it’s been discussed so many times but I think there are too many Legendary Members at the moment. Some got lucky with the 1000 Merit airdrop who were still Hero Members pre Merit System.

I think an ‘Elite’ rank or ‘Lambo’ member would be awesome achievable by 2000 Activity & 2000 Merit.

Merit is cycled and meaningless according to suchmoon.. that has no relation to post quality nor the users prior achievements here. Rank should not be related to merit in its current state.
