Hello, I've implement a ripple gateway for devcoin, thus you could deposit devcoin into your ripple accout as IOUs, or redeem IOUs back to your devcoin wallet, back and forth, further more, you could thus exchange your devcoins to any other currency such as BTC LTC USD and more!

the site located at: http://ripple.d.evco.in/, and the gateway address is r3gHXhK1pwZFG9ESiaosxjufEVQjwGuJUd

For those aren't familiar with ripple, be sure to trust the gateway address with adequate DVCs first, so you could receive desired amount.

Fees: No fee for deposit; 10 DVCs charged for every single redeeming, which required for devcoin network payment; exchange fees to other currencies are automaticly charged by ripple network, we do not charge exchange fees.

Warning: The site is on alpha testing and errors may occur at any time, so do not deposit too much devcoin.

For the ripple exchange, Emfox gets the third exchange award. Because I don't know how many of the extra requirements it meets:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty_now#exchange

he'll get the basic award for now, which is four shares. When that is determined, which will be in the next round, he'll be awarded that as a top up.

I'd suggest you try DVC/XRP first, if it works, then we could know that bistamp sucks Smiley if not, I may have to adapt something ...

ok trading DVC for XRP worked Smiley but something is confusing. when i enter an order to buy DVC for XRP my order is showing in the orderbook (currently 3 orders in there) but when i want to sell DVC for XRP i get the message that my order was accepted, it shows on my open order list but not in the orderbook!?!?!?

I'm sure you've encountered some connection problem of ripple network, these days it became very busy. if something goes wrong, just relogin your ripple account and retry.

Thanks.

It's not a regular exchange as we know, instead, it's a anonymous exchange gateway. that is, one do not need to set up any account or password, he just provide an address (devcoin's or ripple's), sending or receiving DVCs or IOUs. We won't deal any of these password things Smiley

All the password, or security concerns ripple's account security, besides my gateway server security.

Man, I'm glad to see vircurex is up and running, I have a voucherX(USD) sitting at AurumXchange waiting to go to Vircurex to buy some iXcoins and some more Devcoins.

Anybody here have any opnions on Coinbase?  They only trade Bitcoin for now and I don't have any but they just got $5 Million funding from a Top VC so I expect them to leapfrog Vircurex soon.

Also, does anybody if the python word counter has ran yet?  I submitted all my articles by 5:55pm but I'm worried I missed the 23rd round and my wife is riding me about staying up all night writing articles for some imaginary coins.  lol, I tell her it's the future, bigger than dot com but that's not going over that well.  She thinks I'm playing video games on here when I'm spending back breaking hours writing as much pro digital currency articles I can.  I'm not lifting these virtual coins mind you, I just have a messed up back which hurts badly after sitting for hours at a time.

Finally, one-thousand THANK YOU's to Unthinkingbit for helping me out so much over the past 3 days.  This man spent pretty much his entire weekend answering tedious newbie questions about everything there is regarding devtome.  Thanks a lot, I truly appreciate it and in the future perhaps I can answer similar questions for anybody else here who is new at this.

Here's to hoping the python stayed in its cage until 5:59pm this evening and I made round 23. lol...  Take care guys and have what's left of a great weekend.

regards,

Vlad

Couple of problems here. Vircurex is an exchange. Coinbase is a webwallet that does deposits, they are not really competition for any of the exchanges. And yes unthinkingbit is awesome.

Awesome work! Maybe you can make a new thread to announce it in the alt currency section of the forum?  Wink

i think we have enoug logos and graphics!? time for a poll which one is the best?

Hold on, I'm working on 2 world dCoing currency coins. Give me 2 more days cause in not a graphics guy, I'm doing it all by hand and I've been busy writing all night long.

One is more NATO world friendly and one is more cool and symbolic. I like both they just serve different purposes but I agree we need 1 real DEVcoin and it has to have global appeal cause it has the potential to go global.

So whoever is in charge of this please give me a couple more days. I don't think you'll be sorry.

Can anybody explain what proportion and payout means? My proportion was low like .07 while other bad way higher. And my payout was over 10 but what does that mean? 10 coins? 10 shares? What's in a share? So confusing?  Please help a newbie out and I'll try to help other newbies out.  TIA

Also, how do you know if all your articles made it through if you were cutting it really close?  I submitted my last at 5:55pm but I don't know what time the python got fan and what time the numbers were all tallied up?

I still can't believe I'm gonna get coins for something I enjoyed doing it, it's crazy. And I sure don't plants sell a single penny. Word will get out eventually do get all you can.

Anything besides writing that I can do? I'm not very good with my hands, like fixing mechanical stuff, and I'm
Not good at programming or else I'd love to write code and help mane this thing take off.

I'm no graphics designer but I spent a good 6 hours working on a new coin today, something more fitting for dCoin but I'm not done and I'm actually doing 2, one for home and one global. I don't know CGi so everything is by hand and I'm a terrible drawer but I'm trying. I wish I could show it but its not done yet.

So besides writing and graphics what's left that a regular guy can do? We only have a few months left before this thing goes supernova.

One more question.  What's marketing pay?  It said things like 2/5 or 10/5.  So what or how much is 5/5? That's 1, but 1 of what? 1 share?

And I've read the link about ads but I'm confused. What exactly has anyone done and gotten a reward for it and how much? It's difficult to figure out for me but I wanna help anyway I can.

Any clarification with some examples would be really appreciated.  TIA!

Oh, on the marketing thing.  If a few people could give just a few real examples and how much they are supposedly worth. That way I get a rough and real idea so I can better prioritize my time efficiently.

For example I'm gonna try to publish an article on seeking alpha. That won't be easy cause these aren't stocks here but I'll try. But if I manage to publish on SA the article will probably go to 25,000 live and active stock investors.  I imagine those are prime candidates for any currency as stock investors often speculate and that would be wise in this case.

But I have no idea how much something like that would be worth.  I'm definitely still gonna try regardless but it's nice to know what to expect.  If anybody has any idea or can give some real examples I'd appreciate it a lot.  Thanks.

Much appreciated.

Well, I am also quite new to devtome so I may be wrong, but what i know so far:
Every DevCoin round (round start/end is set by reaching block with specific number in blockchain) the receivers of DevCoins are summarized like you have seen in Unthinkingbit's post for devtome way of earning. You can get listed by writing articles, creating links to devtome and couple of other ways (relevant articles: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing, http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_marketing). After that all listed members wait for payment until next round is reached - at that point DevCoins generated last since last round are split into "shares". Value of each share is counted like this:

Total DevCoin generated / sum of all shares earned by all DevCoin recievers = value of share

Then you get your number of shares * value of share. 2/5 or 10/5 are fractions of share - those are usually for minor tasks or periodically paid "bounties" like described in "earn_devcoins_by_marketing" i linked above.

So for your question how much is 5/5 -> it is one single share, but the value of the share will be known at the block 93000. You can see blockchain progress on any DevCoin block explorers listed here http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_block_explorer.
