Try higher rfc. I run 208 and 260 on my vegas and add --ras 46 maybe

thx

hey guys,

How come i can't set the VDDC lower than 900mv? seems like stuck at 900 lowest

For vega, proper PPT needed...

Here is mine--->https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OvKJbv7psAO59I8EavFH5704wf7sr_9z

GPU P7 830MHz/ HBM P3 850MHz -->  0.825V
GPU P7 850MHz/ HBM P3 860Mhz --> 0.8375V
GPU P7 850MHz/ HBM P3 880MHz --> 0.85V

what vega?56/64? samsung/hynix?

Good for both 56@64 bios and 64.
I think this should work with hynix mem bc it sets only the GPU voltage.

Vegas are shit lol, what’s the point of all this effort to add 5 to 10 percent extra hash and most likely have to reset all your low power use power play settings and stuff?

I just don’t see why it’s worth all the effort.  Now if these on the fly timing settings work with Polaris cards which are actually good mining cards  on a price / watt basis this would be somewhat interesting

Bro - did you even try? ;p

Seriously, I guess you haven’t, because changing timings doesn’t require any changes to pp settings.  It causes your mem package to draw a little more power, which is on a fixed voltage (set in bios) with plenty of headroom.  It may, depending on how downclocked/undervolted you are, require a tiny bump to take full advantage of the available extra performance - like I had to for my 56 on CN-turtle, but I’m generally way more dc/uv’d than most people.

And btw, Vegas are much more efficient than Polaris on a h/w basis...  maybe not so much on hash/purchase cost, though haven’t checked prices in a while

He's not worth the trouble..

I remember him calling me out, calling me names, just because i was merely defending the work that was stolen from me in the first place.

Here's his crazy post, and a few others under that.

Funny how it all turned out.. theft, scams, lawsuits, etc.. (and it's not the end of it..) (from that awesome "company") ..
Link here and here.

So again, don't pay attention to him.

To answer his post. "What's the point of having 5-10% hash increase"
Uhm...
Lets just imagine you have 1000 Vega's running (which is not abnormal because i know farms with a ton more), add 10% (free) hash to that..
From 44Mh/s per GPU (44Gh) to (51Gh) that's 4000 USD more per month.
Yeah.. just saying Wink

On another note: will be releasing a new version very shortly, tons of updates/upgrades. (UI version..)
Will release a CLI version update soon as well!

Keep tweaking guys!

Oh right.. Polaris live timing mods does work, there are indeed some values that can and will crash your GPU.
Working on making this more user friendly.

Cheers!

I have a few Vega 56 Airboost cards (hynix memory) in place. Unfortunately the seems to be weaker than all others. No timinings are working stable currently which I have been able to found. Somebody had the same problems like me and got maybe a little bit further?

Maybe the problem is that hbm temp goes too high. Check it in HWinfo

I have 3 rigs running MSI Airboosts, 6 per rig, I finally managed to get these bad boys stable for a few days at a time, i manually restart the machines every 2 - 3 days so i dont know if these setting are stable any longer, in 2 - 3 days i get 1 or 2 HW issues MAX usually none. I agree with you, i feel that these cards are the worse out of all the vega's.
Give this a try.

Hey,

Yeah, you're using an older driver that doesn't support the ADL functions being used in the GUI tool.
I suggest to either upgrade your drive or use the CLI version which will work perfectly fine.

That said.

New GUI version released.

Link

  • Many Bug Fixes
  • Overdrive 8 added (R7)
  • More checks for supported overdrive versions
  • Changed values appear bold Smiley
  • Stability upgrades
  • .....

Cheers!

Thank for suggesion, but I tried drivers till the latest 19
Situation the same.

I suspect the porblem that I dont have no WinIO64.sys nor WinIO64.dll.
If it is the problem - how I can instal them?

You are lost here Smiley
I answered you in my thread.

ElioVP's tweaker does not use WinIO driver btw.

just an update on my settings and results:

have 3 vega's mining ETH on my rig (have a mix of rx470s, 480s and 570s, using phoenix 4.1c, amd driver 18.5.1 but will try 19.2.2 soon)

all vega reference 56's flashed to 64.

using wattman to adjust settings
windoze 10 1803
gpu 1012mhz @ 0.825v
mem 1085mhz @ 0.825v (1 at 1080mhz)
power limit -35%

previously getting ~43.4mhs

now getting ~49.68mhs with using "winamdtweak --i 6,8,9 --rp 12 --rc 44 --rfc 250 --rrds 3 --rrdl 3 --rcdrd 12 --rcdwr 5 --CL 19 --RAS 28 --REF 15600" (gpu at 1080 mem is getting 48.85mhs)

1 error over 3 gpus over 11.5 hours.

apx 20.7w increase per gpu

testing "--CL 19 --RAS 30 --RCDRD 12 --RCDWR 6 --RC 44 --RP 13 --RRDS 5 --RRDL 5 --RTP 4 --FAW 18 --CWL 6 --WTRS 4 --WTRL 9 --WR 15 --WRRD 1 --RDWR 18 --REF 17000 --RFC 248" now but initial impressions appear to be positive (over 50mhs speeds)

Please share good timings for radeon VII (for xmr). Those that were published on the previous pages have no effect.

is there an effective ppt for radeon VII Huh I configure the 1750 MHz / 950 mV core and 1100 memory via the MSI afterburner. the cooler turns to the maximum and at the same time goes overheating. obviously need a more efficient power scheme
