1101  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: AnonTransfer.com - 📁 Upload your files anonymously and free📥| 10 GB filesize on: November 14, 2023, 08:41:49 PM
Regarding your question on the issue of files that are shared in the rooms, it is simple, obviously a storage space is required where the file is hosted, but since it is hosted on our servers, it still goes through the verification process and real-time threat scanning before being encrypted, considering that when you select the "Delete Room" option, the files that were shared in it are also automatically deleted.
Files are scanned how exactly?
If that is done for files than I can assume that every word and letter I write is also going to be ''scanned'' for dangerous content, before encryption.
Sorry but this has red flag for me and it has censorship written all over.

I am sure of one thing, several members with good judgment insisted on leaving DT and that certainly did not improve the DT system, I would say the opposite. The current situation is as it is, ignoring it certainly does not help.
Maybe they simply don't want to participate in bad Drama theater all the time.
Let me say that DT system is perfect for improving activity on Reputation board, and I have proposition to rename Reputation board to Drama board.
This is perfect place for waking up old flames and events that happened years ago, and we can all join or oppose this useless accusations.
Like any good drama series DT system will provide fuel for more and more pages/episodes of pointless discussions and arguments.
1105  Economy / Reputation / Re: ~OgNasty's self scratching on: November 14, 2023, 07:51:26 PM
Theymos paid you community funds.  You stole them and returned some when caught.   Theymos gave you what was not his to give, and gave you feedback to help you scam others.
This sound a lot like communism to me if you think that some community funds should in some magical way redistributed to forum members.
Theymos never said this will be done in any way, so it's only your deluded assumptions.

btw what happened with your ''Goodbye'' message and leaving the forum?
Was that a lie also?

This is my last post on this forum.
Sure Roll Eyes
1106  Economy / Reputation / Re: Dear Timelord2067, was it really necessary? on: November 14, 2023, 05:38:36 PM
In that case: just exclude DefaultTrust and set your Trust depth to 0. You'll only see feedback from the users on your own Trust list (which is currently empty).
I might do that, unless you or someone else can give me some real arguments and examples how current DT system is making positive changes in forum.
There is a chance I could be wrong about this, so I am ready to listen.
1107  Economy / Reputation / Re: Dear Timelord2067, was it really necessary? on: November 13, 2023, 11:53:40 PM
Here we go again, bitcointalk drama continues.  Roll Eyes
I would not care so much about feedback from this member, he is well known for doing this, and I would just ignore him.
Opening new topic about this won't change anything Ryose, just sayin.

That's how the Trust system works.
Let me be perfectly honest and say that current DT system is creating more problems than doing anything good.
Prove me wrong.
1108  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Secure Element in Hardware Wallets on: November 13, 2023, 11:25:18 PM
We are from KriptoBR Official Reseller of Ledger, Trezor, SecuX and BitBox in Brazil.

We received the email from Ledger notifying us, that's why I informed them here, I asked if the chip had been changed and no, they confirmed that there hadn't been, it was just the update.
So basically nothing really changed in their hardware, but they decided to change and increase EAL certification just because they can do it and for them it sounds better like this Tongue
I will update information in table, but like I said before, nobody cares about this, especially not for ledger wallets, they already destroyed any leftover reputation they had.
1109  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Safe 3 New Hardware Wallet on: November 13, 2023, 11:15:41 PM
They have also announced discounts that will start with Black Friday Week in 6 days.
https://content.trezor.io/black-week-2023
I saw their announcement about Black Friday discount and I hope it won't be for accessories, silicone masks, and everything else except for hardware wallets, like they did in previous years  Tongue
Let's wait and see what happens in next few days, but this could be a good chance to spend some gains from this bull run.
1110  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [LIST] Wallets supporting Taproot on: November 12, 2023, 11:02:20 PM
after some time the Blixt Wallet version 0.6.9 introduces a lot of new things like
Blixt is already listed, but I don't think this wallet is supporting bitcoin main chain.
It is meant to be used only as Lightning Network wallet.

From what I found on their website this is not meant to be used for normal transactions, only for opening LN channels:
Quote
Right now, the main purpose of this on-chain wallet is to manage the opening and closing of LN channels and not for regular day to day payments using on-chain transactions.

1111  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Fuck you ledger on: November 12, 2023, 10:50:10 PM
I don't know whether that is true or not but I came across the mention that Ledger wallets are assembled by Flextronics. This means that Ledger company doesn't have the facilities to produce hardware and rely on 3rd party which in turn may aper   as    the other potential  "hidden" and weak section in the trust chain.
No, from my research ledger devices are produced in China, maybe by this Flextronics, and than they are assembled in France.
I am not defending ledger in any way, but there is a difference between assembling and producing.
But there is a chance they changed something in last few months to reduce expenses.

1112  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keystone 3 HW coming soon! on: November 12, 2023, 10:46:33 PM
To those who might be interested in getting the Pro version, there's a "Black Friday sale [up to 37% off]" and although their tweet has December 11 as its end date, on their "shop" it's showing it'll end in 2 days [perhaps they're planning to reduce its percentage every few days].
Nice discount from Keystone, but maybe it's not a bad idea to wait for few more weeks to see what other hardware wallet manufacturers are offering.
Black Friday this year is on November 24 and discounts will probably continue until Cyber Monday.

1114  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Secure Element in Hardware Wallets on: November 10, 2023, 11:29:16 PM
Ledger has just changed its website stating that LNS PLUS models are EAL6+ certified
This is only for Ledger Nano S Plus and for Ledger Stax, but it means nothing to you or me.
If they changed EAL certification that usually means they made some changes with secure elements, but I didn't see any news about that.
1115  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Suggest me a secure and open-source hardware wallet. on: November 10, 2023, 11:25:10 PM
I am not sure why you are comparing a centralised chip with a decentralised and non-custodial secure chip.
You have no clue what you are talking about do you?  Cheesy
What the heck is decentralised non-custodial secure chip?
That exist only in your dreams  Tongue

Both are different; credit card chips won't be open source because they are centralized. When you get a credit card, you already trust them. But for a hardware wallet, this isn't a fact.
Roll Eyes
Open Source doesn't mean that something is centralized or decentralized.
You are mixing apples and cucumbers, so you better stop here my friend... this is getting really hilarious...
1116  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: SCAM upozorenja Zbirni topic on: November 10, 2023, 11:16:14 PM

Još malo freezing-a, Poloniex exchange hacked for $126 Million...

1117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Raspi 4 for Bitcoin Node: Still Compatible? on: November 09, 2023, 06:45:55 PM
I was actually looking into getting a Raspi on either StartOS or Umbrel OS to enhance my self-sovereign computing journey with many apps on top of it. Should I refrain from getting one? What are some best "starter packs" out there for node nubies?
Big advantage using Rpi4 for me is that it spends little electricity and it can work silently (in same cases), but I am not if it still works fine for Bitcoin node.
There is new Raspberry Pi 5 released recently and it is 2-3 times faster than previous generation, and I think this won't have any issues for bitcoin in next few years.
This is going to be more expensive, so if you already have old laptop that you don't use you can just use that instead.
1118  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Suggest me a secure and open-source hardware wallet. on: November 09, 2023, 06:29:06 PM
Microchip, for example, offers a similar SDK for their secure elements (like the 608b) called "cryptoauthlib" (https://github.com/MicrochipTech/cryptoauthlib). All code is viewable and they have a basic copyright that doesn't restrict its use (except that it must be used with Microchip products).
It's still not open source, that is a big difference.
This reminds me on what Coldcard is doing with their source code  Tongue

This Infineon chip used by Trezor is absolutely no more open than any other competing chip, except that Trezor purchases it without signing an NDA. That's it.
Did you (Passport Foundation) sign any NDA with Microchip?
1119  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow vs Electrum for desktop on: November 09, 2023, 06:23:22 PM
Satochip and Krux support
Great to see support for more hardware wallets!
Sparrow is getting more serious with every new release, and in spme ways it is even getting better than Electrum wallet.
1120  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Linux: is wine a potential threat for our BTCs? on: November 09, 2023, 04:52:17 PM
Wine can be very buggy and not all win software will even run properly on linux os.
Few years ago I was experiment with using some adobe software with wine, but I was not happy with results.
I think it would be much better to separate things and keep everything bitcoin related on separate laptop, even better if you can keep it airgapped.
