1962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your alt bags on: December 28, 2022, 07:26:57 PM
TBH, with the current bear market, I only think of Bitcoin as the coin that I want to buy. I mean we are in a bear market, and we know that if we are in a bull market, altcoins tend to give more profits to holders than Bitcoin is right? We always see altcoins that are going x5 or x10 or even x20 in a bull market.

Right, because many altcoins have small capitalization and small circulating supply, so the growth of such projects is always more rapid.

What are my plans? Just accumulate Bitcoin and maybe Ethereum for the rest of the bear market. I might buy some other top altcoins as well, but I'll be focusing more on the 2 coins that I said.

Good advice, but what if the investor has a very small deposit? Buying such expensive coins on a small budget is not always profitable, and long term few people want to wait until their $500 will bring x8 profit for 3-4 years.
1963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Preparing For 2023? on: December 28, 2022, 06:46:46 PM
The phrase "not friendly to" - I would say the opposite, it has been way friendly to the opportunistic users who were looking for rock bottom prices and they had a good time accumulating. That is how you can restructure your thought process to keep the optimistic outlook, lack of which because the reason of gradual attrition from trading.

I see a lot of whales are accumulating their crypto at this point and they will sell when the next bull run starts and then wait for the next bear run to buy again - a cycle that might take more than a couple of years, but they possess that level of patience. Still this is what we all crypto traders should aim for.

New altcoins should always bring in the salt of caution. Projects may aspire to be huge and they might succeed, but this is difficult in this sector so be careful. A new year does not always mean a good year for any new project.

For whales and big investors, this is a truly chic time when you can take cryptocurrency from many panicked people for next to nothing. The right long-term investors don't sell crypto blue chips, they accumulate them. The rest of us are panicking and taking losses.

New projects now need to be invested with great caution, and only in those with seed investors.
1964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason Dogecoin could fail in the future on: December 28, 2022, 05:48:34 PM
Dogecoin doesn't need Elon Musk to survive in the long run. It has been there before the crypto hype, so I'm confident it won't go away just like that. Prices may fall, but at least the blockchain network will be active. That's thanks to the community supporting it every step of the way.

I wouldn't use Dogecoin seriously anyways, especially when it's a "meme" coin. It's value is driven out of pure speculation. With a huge supply that constantly grows over time, there's no reason to believe DOGE will sustain high prices in the future. Who knows how much will the cryptocurrency be worth by then? Just my thoughts Grin

Elon Musk has become so imposingly synonymous with DOGE that many investors have started to use just his words to make a decision to buy or sell the asset. This is only realistic in the crypto market. I'm not sure that such manipulation is possible in the stock market. DOGE is good for speculation, but its future is murky as a good long-term investment. There is no telling what will become of the coin after it moves to PoS, if it ever does.
1965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can DeFi still be trusted?? on: December 28, 2022, 04:44:22 PM
That's certainly true, mate. Most underlying blockchain networks aren't as decentralized as one thought they would be. They're extremely vulnerable to hacks and/or manipulation because of their focus on performance instead of security/reliability. There's no guarantee your balance will always be there on a "De-Fi" platform of your choosing whose underlying blockchain network is centralized. While Ethereum is the most decentralized blockchain network after Bitcoin, that doesn't mean it's perfect.

You're going to have to decide whenever you'd want to put all of your money on "De-Fi" or banks. The latter is a much safer option, although rates are lower than those provided by "De-Fi" platforms. At least, we have an alternative to traditional banking. As long as we have Bitcoin, nothing else matters. Just my opinion Smiley

Are there still really decentralized networks in DeFi? In my opinion, this is already more fiction than truth. In most protocols, the main supply of tokens is owned by a few addresses who can control the protocol, or manipulate the prices. Anything PoS is no longer decentralized. In addition, PoS is very prone to all kinds of attacks and exploits, which happen almost every day.
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana’s position in the space. on: December 28, 2022, 04:14:43 PM
even though solana took a lot of hits from the various trials they faced. even a few crashes like FTX had a huge impact on Solana. because FTX does sell the solana they have in bulk. and it sent panic to solana investors. so the decline is unavoidable. But so far I still have hope for solana. at least in the upcoming bullrun solana will most likely follow the trend and could just return their ATH. so I took the risk of holding some solana as a risky investment.

Get your ATH back? Shocked What an optimistic attitude you have. First of all, would like to know for sure that Solana is not waiting for some hardfork or full flush of accumulated coins by big funds, and then we can already speak about recovery and conquering of former tops. The time is such that those who buy Solana at a low price, hoping for growth, may face the same surprises as LUNA buyers, who thought that the asset, which fell in price by 90%, is a profitable purchase, even if it is risky.

1969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Preparing For 2023? on: December 27, 2022, 02:50:47 PM
Bitcoin lost 75% of its ath. Not a bad indicator, considering how badly many altcoins suffered, losing 90, 95, and sometimes even 99% of their value. The market is self-cleaning from all sorts of junk projects. 2023 is unlikely to be a breakout year in which we will be swimming in liquidity, but there is still a chance for recovery, although I don't rule out that we may stagnate for a long time in 2023, only occasionally diluting the monotony with local bull runs.
1970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about these hyped projects for 2023? on: December 27, 2022, 02:46:14 PM
What will perform well in the future is bitcoin Grin

That's for sure because bitcoin will surely attract the attention of many people, especially if the price can go up very high, even higher than the last ATH.

Meanwhile, other coins will compete with each other and DOT and Mana have the potential to increase compared to the coins you mentioned. But I can't be sure either because next year is still a mystery to me and I can't yet feel where the market is going next year.

In all likelihood, yes. Only bitcoin, as a long-term asset, can be as certain as possible. The other altcoins are too dependent on various factors, from developers to smart contracts that can be hacked. In my opinion, all of the altcoins on this list are not suitable for long-term investing.
1971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You Missed ETH, Missed BNB, Please Don't Miss RENEC Too on: December 26, 2022, 09:42:52 PM
I am confused by the fact that there is no information on investors, who and when conducted financing rounds. If the project does not have large investors and funds, if they have not conducted seed and strategic funding rounds, then there is no point in investing in this project, because with 99% probability it will only grow in the short term, after that it will never get to its previous peaks again. I have seen quite a few such projects and now I always look only at those that have investments from major players.
1972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SBF released, Will Solana ($SOL) come back? on: December 26, 2022, 09:10:04 PM
Right now, the only thing SBF cares about is his own safety, he doesn't care about anything else. He's out of jail, and now he's going to figure out with his patrons how to make it all go away with as little loss as possible. I don't exclude that Alameda, together with FTX, can be restarted in the future under new management and with a new strategy, then FTT and SOL have a chance to continue their life.
1973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High Profit Projects Are Prone To Scam on: December 26, 2022, 08:44:00 PM
If we aim for earning a profit, we better stay away from new projects but instead, go buy Bitcoin and potential altcoins then we are safe.

New projects are not a sentence, new projects are opportunities and prospects. You just need to study them in more detail. For some reason I often see calls in the community that it is better to stay away from new projects and buy proven coins. Which ones? For example LUNA and FTT, which were also once tried and trustworthy, but now have become garbage. I agree that new projects scam much more often than established and proven ones. But when it comes to quick and big profits, let's be honest, without investing in new projects you can never get rich with a small deposit.
1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be very careful with alts on: December 26, 2022, 08:38:01 PM
True. However, the market as a whole has recently decayed. Projects only come to raise funds and then leave. They don't actually give a shit about investors. On the other hand, delivering product does not always help. Because I've seen a few projects deliver the product they promised, but investors don't care; they sell tokens and move on. Some investors even sell their tokens at a loss. How will you keep them at bay? Today's investors' mindset has shifted. They believe in quick profits and sell tokens. As a result, even good projects crash immediately after launch on decentralized exchanges, rendering them unrecoverable. As a result, the intentions of investors and projects have changed. Everyone only considers quick money.

This is because the investors themselves are absolutely not interested in the product itself. The main reason for their participation is banal speculation and nothing else. This is the reason why various game projects, metaverses, social and other projects have difficulties and their tokens quickly depreciate. Investors are not interested in their product, they come there only to withdraw liquidity and then start looking for a new young project that can give a good profit.
1975  Other / Meta / Re: Censorship on Bitcointalk. My topic was removed! on: December 26, 2022, 03:26:26 PM
Hello,

I posted a thread yesterday soliciting feedback regarding a Bitcoin banking project. I first posted it on Development and it was deleted. I made a separate post asking why, and I was directed to repost the thread in Meta.

I did that, but it got deleted again.

Even though I can't find the  forum rule I'm violating, it's clear to me that I'm doing something wrong in this community. Not the first impression I wanted to make.

I'm looking for feedback and a discussion regarding the theoretical structure of a project I believe is worth advancing. If anyone could direct me to the appropriate person to ask permission, or the right place to repost my original thread, I'd sincerely appreciate it.

Thank you!

BB

First, you didn't understand the answers in the thread with your question about why your thread was deleted. You should have moved the topic with the question to the Meta section, not placed a topic describing your development.
Secondly, in my opinion, the moderator probably regarded your topic as begging, which is forbidden on the forum. Because you have specified at the end of your topic the address for donations.

There are at least two similar threads about LibertyTown on the forum right now. Aside from the fact that the thread was in the wrong place, I think it was the moderator who deleted your thread because there are already similar threads. That's my opinion. The true reason can only be told to you by the moderator who deleted your topic.

The topics I was talking about

1978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [POLL] Will BNB crash? Will Binance go bankrupt? on: December 25, 2022, 11:23:29 PM
I voted for the first option. Maybe it's a bit of wishful thinking, but at the moment I don't see any big indication that Binance is in trouble. It is normal that after recent events in the crypto world, fears and suspicion among exchange users have increased significantly. Maybe in the long run it will have positive effects, because keeping funds on exchanges and other services will always be risky. Returning to Binance, they react calmly to all recent allegations and, in my opinion, respond rationally. I do not rule out that attacks on Binance from various sides will continue and this may have a negative impact on the value of BNB, but I hope that the exchange will survive without major problems. I believe that the collapse or insolvency of Binance would be an incomparably greater blow to the cryptocurrency world than the case with FTX and would slow down the development of this market by several years.

Binance has been hit by so many FUDs lately that any fear is already perceived as the beginning of collapse, although in fact it could be quite different. All this talk about the collapse of BNB and the bankruptcy of Binance may be just speculation to get people to sell BNB as much as possible, thereby lowering its price short-term so that large holders can buy the asset at an undervalued price.
1979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't buy altcoins because they are top altcoins on: December 25, 2022, 09:53:11 PM
What's the problem with buying altcoins that were in the TOP and then stopped being in them? Just because they come out of TOP-10, TOP-25, etc., it doesn't mean they won't be profitable anymore. The TOP of altcoins changes every year, it's normal, because the industry is constantly evolving, new projects appear, the competition is growing. The most important thing is that the support of the project by miners and developers does not stop.
1980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Robo Inu? on: December 25, 2022, 09:05:36 PM
I have never heard of this Robo Inu before, every day a meme coin appears claiming to be the next Shiba Inu or the killer of Shiba Inu and Dogecoin and after that, it will continue for some time and eventually find that it is a bubble that appeared and ended and this is due to the lack of attraction of investors and the lack of support from influencers, celebrities, and businessmen for this coin, with the current bear market conditions, I do not think that the Robo Inu that you mentioned can explode, and even if it has a wallet and DEX, it is a meme coin that has a huge total supply and is considered a new currency, so it has years ahead in order to be a good competition for the Shiba Inu and create a fan base for its community and to be listed in thousands of exchange platforms.

There are actually thousands of meme coins and most of them will never make it beyond a single trading pair on some DEX. Crypto market is not regulated enough yet, so any anonymous person tries to launch his own coin hoping to snap a jackpot. Any meme coin is, first and foremost, a project created to enrich its creator, which has nothing in it but speculation. They didn't appear that often before, but the story around SHIB has launched an unprecedented hype.
