2101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Current List of Competitive Hardware - March 2019 on: March 21, 2019, 02:51:05 AM
Innosilicon has been given top spot in efficiency. They are noted as having several batches. The real world tests didn't match their specs 100%, but it is a minute sample size and all numbers quoted are Manufacturer advertised numbers.

I am also considering removing some of the listed Hardware:

Halong - If I'm not mistaken this company is no longer operating or producing Hardware.
Bitfury - I'm on the fence without knowing if the Tardis ever shipped out to anyone. If not there last miner is well outside competitive.

As always I'm open to input.
2102  Economy / Collectibles / Complete set - Crypto Cosmos Limited 1st release - " A handful of nickles" on: March 20, 2019, 08:24:38 PM
So I thought I'd show off what I believe to be the only complete set from this limited release.

Full set surrounded by intervention cards from my personal deck - Close up of the decks, certificates, "Inversion" card, with complimentary doodle

Error deck #55 unembossed case -  Regular embossed case

So here's the story. I originally bought #55 and #75 a few posts later is where I got the "nickles" idea from a post I read where Lesbian Cow wanted 55 later on. Down the road the error decks were auctioned off for anyone who had bought a deck. Lucky me with #55, now I had a bit of a dilemma I wanted a 3rd deck so I could put 2 together as a little set to showcase the error.

I held off for a while until I saw the auction come up for the low number decks and artist proofs. This is when I got the lightbulb that I was in a unique situation. It only seemed fitting that if I was going to create the complete set it should feel uniform in some fashion. So I went with the 5 theme, and "A handful of nickles", was born once I won Deck #5 and Artist Proof #5.

Complete set

Artist Proof -> #5
Regular Embossed Deck -> Deck #5
Unembossed Deck -> #55
Intervention Card "Inversion" -> Didn't make deck release won with Auction

The doodle was a special add-in. I asked kryptowerk if they wouldn't mind drawing a little doodle or something once I won the auction. I told them the theme of my collection and they were kind enough to include 1.

Thanks again to kryptowerk, these are beautiful pieces and I look forward to cracking out my personal deck when I find someone to play with. Grin
I also had a great time collecting this through the free giveaways and the actual auction, it was fun especially once I got the idea in my head that I had to win those items.
2103  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The winter mining setup on: March 20, 2019, 07:13:49 PM
Well I guess the first day of spring is as good as any to call my Winter mining Dead for the season. Well at least on life support. Currently I am running the 2 M10's in the basement with the 741's offline. Our temperatures just haven't dropped off enough.

In the evening I have played with cycling 2 741's on for a couple hours to help with the evening cool off, but haven't in a couple days. Now the reason I am running such a silly way and not just my 741's and the M10's in the garage is that in short I can't lift 1 arm enough to set up my garage for the spring-fall season.  Wink
I am slowly gaining my mobility back so hopefully tomorrow or the next day I'll get things moved around and can get back to free hash inside for another couple weeks. I figure I'll be between 1 and 3 741's for a few weeks while we hover between -5 and 7 Celsius.

I will definitely update next year when the M10's move back in the house with ideally with a nicely insulated box to cut some of that noise down. Worst case they can run low power mode.

Edit: July 10

I am locking this thread until the fall when I move some miners inside. Maybe even a few other cool locations who knows. For more see what I'm up to this summer. Summer Mining

Multiposting will not help your problem. If you plan on continuing to use this forum as a platform for sales you may want to review some of the guidelines. While also informing yourself on what your rank can do and what options you have.

Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) See signature resrtictions. You as a jr. member can have one.
You may also want to look into copper membership

I honestly have no issue with you or any other sales reps here, but complaining about moderation when you do the same thing over and over isn't going to help. Neither is trying to spread information about the competition in this way; conveniently done around pre-order time. Here are threads for Whatsminer.net and Pangolinminer.com. I would suggest any further discussion not centered around the miners themselves be moved to these service discussion threads. Feel free to let me know if I have any errors in the basic information I put there.

I think the choice depends on what you're spending to purchase.  If you're spending USD, any order seems like a smart move.  If you're spending BTC, I think you'll likely be sad when you see what they're reselling for once they've been released.

I didn't feel great depleting my reserves for hardware but I'm also an advocate for spending BTC as often as the opportunity presents itself. I'm not sold on the long preorder using BTC, but for me it will be cheaper to buy some coin and then order than it would be to use a wire transfer. As long as I continue to accumulate in between, I won't be sad in a few months if the price has risen and it seems I've over-payed for my gear.
2105  Economy / Service Discussion / Pangolinminer.com a MicroBT distributor and seller of Hard Goods on: March 20, 2019, 06:53:08 PM
Pangolinminer is a distributor of Whatsminer Miners manufactured by MicroBT. They also carry additional new and used hardware for sale.

They accept Crypto and Wire transfer as methods of payment. Shipping is sent via DHL.
They operate this site for sales and service https://pangolinminer.com

No known representative for them is on the site.

Pangolin is now launching a hosting service as well. Details can be found on their website or through telegram

My personal experience with them:
I have personally placed 2 orders through them without issue on their part. I will say that the last order for me and several others did not receive confirmation of shipping via email or the website, despite the orders being shipped and delivered. There were no delays in this last shipment just no notifications or tracking information.

Edit: My second review of service can be found in this post

2107  Other / Meta / Re: [RUIN THE FUN] Possible April Fools Ideas Of Theymos on: March 20, 2019, 03:10:00 PM
I would hide the merit and trust system. Come up with an overly confusing and convoluted reason for it.

People would go batty on both sides. It would then obviously reappear for the 2nd. A good old fashioned prank to get peoples feelings on a bit of a rollercoastee
2108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: March 19, 2019, 07:02:12 PM
Those numbers are great. Nice to keep the hashrate so high while still doing an efficiency setting. Thanks for the update Phil, I'll update the hardware thread tonight. I've noticed now that all the input voltage ranges are 220-264 V for the T3 models they have listed.

minefarmbuy - Yeah Biffa had mentioned it. The price and the PSU range were kind of appealing, even more so if there is the same type of efficiency setting.
2109  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: March 19, 2019, 03:09:18 PM
Anyone else not getting emails from Pango about their orders and seeing that their the order status is not being updated?

Same as you, everything else is normal. It all shipped and arrived on the dates expected based on my order date. What I have been getting is a text from DHL that I have an order incoming, the day it ships, and one to pay tax before clearing customs. I would have assumed most of this was automated and should be pretty easy. They did however respond to an email about the M20.

I've had a 0% failure rate over the years, so I guess this is probability biting me in the ass. Will update with next steps.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can move as quickly to help you as they did with Phil's issue, I'm guessing you've created a support ticket with them. Might take a late night on your part to catch them during business hours. Do you have any oter gear around to check the PDU's and see if they are ok? Just curious was the "pop" any of the breakers going again?
2110  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC, ETH @ Spot + 2 % in Canada. Bank Trasnfer or Cash Deposit in Bank on: March 18, 2019, 11:18:16 PM
You'll find a lot of people confused about the EMT, as it's surprisingly unavailable in a lot of countries. I'm not looking for any right now, but will keep you in mind in the future, as I'm generally short BTC when I need to buy some hardware.

I couldn't find any takers when I went to sell this way. In the end I've traded with someone steadily for PP F&F with a rate that gets me close to Preev, and a service to sell or pay bills in Canada. Let me know if your interested. I know it sucks to come in a little under Spot, at times but that's generally the cost of off the books sales.
2111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 18, 2019, 10:55:58 PM
Nice, doesn't seem like the Pangolin numbers were very far off. Unless Whatsminer threw caution to the wind, in the same way that it was said Pangolin had jumped the gun. They may have even over estimated, as they were generally the less expensive of the two. Either way now it looks like a more stable rumour that this is going to be available in ~6 weeks time.
2112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Current List of Competitive Hardware - March 2019 on: March 18, 2019, 10:47:51 PM
I keep the Op up to date pretty regular. Right now the ones to watch are Bitmain, Innosilicon, and MicroBT (Whatsminer). Some have good hardware available now some have a miner being speculated about, most have links to the info.

If you can't find something let me know.

2113  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: March 18, 2019, 10:41:32 PM
The biggest check mark for me is that the rating is good for a home guy 220-268. So I would be okay running one of these at home, and those efficiency numbers are nice.

If I'm reading it right the price discount is just to order with May/June shipping. So still no hard and fast ship date. The 43TH model says new batch coming soon? I find their site hard to navigate at times, if I don't follow your link I couldn't find a link apart from an image at the bottom of the homepage.

Hard to say what I would go for if the M20 delivers as promised, the higher hash would be worth the efficiency offset.

Edit:

for me a m20 a s17 or the t3 all work...

in house I have 237 to 245 so s17 is a major if.

Are those a few more freudian slips, or just wishful thinking?
2114  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] CRYPTO COSMOS: Cryptocurrency Deck Of Cards LIMITED # - unique crypto game on: March 18, 2019, 10:27:59 PM
I just received my second package with the Auction win. Anyone on the fence should definitely pick up a deck, as they look amazing.

I'll post some photos soon.

Edit: Photos can be seen here.
2115  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M10 33.0 Th/s, 2145W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: March 17, 2019, 03:58:26 AM
Just thought I'd say I looked for an admin page and couldn't find it either. My firmware version on all 3 is 20181127.17.1
Up until now, I hadn't bothered trying to change the password. My login details were also Admin/Admin by default, never even noticed I always just assume password is username.

Side note my 3rd showed up yesterday and is now set up. So far it looks to be 31.7 TH, and by far my tightest cluster on frequency, 499 - 507 - 498 .
That may be due to the cooler garage environment.
2116  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 16, 2019, 04:28:01 PM
They did have an issue once last year with the D1 miner. They took preorders then before delivery told eveyone the price went up, you could either pay more or get a refund. Not sure if it was a similar issue or if MicroBT upped the price.

Minefarmbuy mentioned it above.
2117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Current List of Competitive Hardware - March 2019 on: March 16, 2019, 03:56:12 PM
Update today-

Added the M20 as a discussion thread for MicroBT
Change Innosilicon's product to the T3 - and updated stats. I made mention that it is now the most efficient but will make the change once we see that it is at or near spec for power draw.

As always if you see an error or have something for me to add let me know.
2118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 16, 2019, 03:42:30 PM
Curious if the same promo code works on these as well?

The $51 Coupon doesn't work on this preorder. The March March one does that they give you in chat as soon as you open the website is able to be applied. I didn't order anything but that was my first thought as well.

Yeah I remember Fanatic confirming it's specs and talking about it being loud enough to hear over the other miners I think. Either way that model is beyond running at home, or near neighbors. That's how I feel about the 58 TH model, barring an amazing efficiency setting. I am still super keen on the 48 TH model, that includes running it in the basement next winter.

I guess for you Phil it would come down to what type of warehouse your next build is in. If there is limited occupancy the noise levels aren't bad, and it wouldn't take many of them to really bump up that power consumption for your proof of load tests.
2119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 15, 2019, 04:46:49 PM
Nice well I look forward to seeing reviews and videos of the gear. I only mentioned that it was only on the Pangolin site, so people knew where to look, I'll have to link it later not sure why I didn't. I definitely believe in the gear and will probably break my rule of ordering first batch gear.

The other bonus that I forgot to mention is there PSU is still rated up to 264 V.  I probably would have been crushed if they had gone to 240 V max.

It's funny that comment about a jump to 7nm has me wondering what they can do next considering how they're killing it with these older chips. I wonder if they skip 10 and go right to 7nm.

Personally I think they shouldnt even sell the higher speed version with the last 10TH costing 1000w.

I agree I kept thinking I was reading it wrong or that maybe it was a typo in the fresh numbers they posted.
2120  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Opinion on starting new farm on: March 15, 2019, 01:51:52 PM
That would be in Canadian (CAD). Man that's a big bill, and that's just the usage. That's sort of why I was wondering if they had considered footing a bit more towards hardware for the efficiency at higher hashrates. Sure you may be starting smaller than desired but the operation will have legs to keep going at least.
